River Wild, where can I start? Maybe with the shrimp tacos that taste so delicious you'd slap anyone who would dare touch them? Or perhaps the fried pickles that when served with the Sriracha aïoli have the perfect balance of vinegar to heat that has everyone in my family fighting over who gets the last one. There are so many amazing food items at Riverwild that I can recommend however the service can be a bit touch and go at times. The vibe of the restaurant is very laid back and warm with just enough spice to make it a favorite for date night. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants good food and a good time to come here, especially if you love asparagus because it is off the chain! It isn't a cheap place though so definitely don't come in expecting to have a cheap date but it's worth the quality and taste of the food. Also shoutout for having the best gluten free buns of any restaurant around, my mom was worried she would have a really dense bun when ordering her burger but it honestly is the best she's ever had since finding out she was gluten in tolerant so hats off to y'all! read more

This place is hit and miss they do well on some things on the menu and not so well on others I have ate here quite a bit trying different things but I'm down to just like 2 menu items they really do well the smothered chicken fried pickles and tacos service is ok at best they have changed waitresses again and this set now is not so great nor friendly and you will have to go without a drink for a lot of your meal I blame it on being busy but there was only 4 tables full and 3 waitresses the night we where there last and I had to ask hostess twice for drinks for our table the place is beautiful on inside and well decorated for area just wish they could get it together would be a nice place for our county read more

Don't let the server fool you into thinking there's no printed beer list. I saw one one on another table after I made my selections based on her memory. :-(. The best part about this place is the outdoor seating, which I gathered from the reviews. The food is OK. Just expect that. Onion rings a bit over cooked, but tasty. We both had the River Cheesesteak which is made with shaved ribeye. I asked for mine on a bed of lettuce, about which the server was dubious, but the cook managed to accommodate just fine. Hubs had his on a bun. Both were slightly overcooked, but tasted good. The firecracker shrimp appetizer lacked presentation, but tasted delicious. The atmosphere is lovely and that the decor is very relaxing, although they had some very large screen televisions going, it did not prohibit those who wanted to, to enjoy some casual conversation. the food however is another story.....the dish that my husband got was amazing it was the pork barbecue and slaw sandwich. I asked our waitress about a particular dish and she raved and raved about it I wish I had gone with my natural instinct and ordered what I had originally thought about which was their steakhouse burger I chose the codfish based on the waitresses recommendation, it was horrible , it is really not codfish ....they are precut very small cod sticks , you could not taste anything remotely close to beer batter. The batter was barely on them and please see the photo of my plate as you cut into the cod grease squeezed out everywhere making the fish in edible and fact I did not finish it and I did relate this to the waitress who offered a very ho-hum type of an apology but she was not at all forthcoming with an offer of an exchange or a replacement which was very surprising ....... this is a brand-new restaurant, and you would think that they would want happy customers , but perhaps , that is not important to them. this is a rather pricey place to go for lunch but it is worth trying one time. The watermelon limeade is very good but please be aware ......it is not stated ......but it is served in a smallish glass , much smaller than the regular drinks and they make sure that you are aware that there are absolutely no refills on this, while it is delicious it is definitely not worth the price you're paying for it. I hope they are able to work out the kinks and the glitches on food service our waitress had some problems keeping up and perhaps that is because they are new but our food was served by someone other than our waitress and my order came wrong which was surprising but mistakes do happen it was corrected but the french fries that came later were absolutely in edible because they were too highly salted nothing fixed them. The hush puppies that come with the cod dish are really for true dedicated onion lovers that is all you will taste you will not at all taste the corn meal that hush puppies are made with , and be aware they are very doughy, and heavy , again I could not eat them and I really like hush puppies. All of these issues might be addressed down the road one by one as issues are brought to the attention of the kitchen staff and the restaurant manager this was our first visit there but we will definitely not return for a very long period of time until perhaps we've heard from some other people we know whose opinions we trust that things have changed or improved read more

We have been going to this restaurant since they opened. We did not go in 2020 due to covid-19. My biggest complaint is,they need to update the menu. Some of the things have changed and the menu still reads the same. Example, we have ordered the fried pickles at least 15 times, and the menu says chips, but they are spears. The menu says they have frozen drinks and they are listed, but we were told, no frozen drinks. I love the Cuban sandwich. It has been my favorite on the menu that was pork tenderloin and ham with aoli. Now, it is smokey bbq with ham and no aoli. The waitress brought a beer with the cap on because she couldn't find an opener. After going here for years and 2 visits that were disappointing. We will not be back. read more

I hate to do this, because I like coming here for the ambiance, people, and the access to the lake. Everyone is very friendly and you always run into someone you know. My problem is that you have to CHANGE YOUR MENU. You have a few good solid items that's should stay, ex firecracker shrimp, Mac bites, and the shrimp tacos, but after two years you get tired of the same all thing. It's time to get rid of the Cuban sandwich, have better salad choices, more choices for a wrap, and your philly cheese steak. The reason Iam giving it 2 stars is that Iam very upset. We drove over an hour to eat outside on there patio and they wouldn't let us because of a party. That is not the right way. There was extra tables and they still refused to let us sit out side. It's not fair to other customers that eat here and there is room outside to sit. Iam very disappointed and upset and I will spread this around to others so they know how we was treated. So we decided to stay and eat in and the staff was more focused on the party. I guess for the tips. Who knows but I am disappointed in this place. Will post more after I eat. read more

Went there on a busy Saturday night, and loved the fact that we could enjoy a drink down at the marina while waiting for their text to tell us our table was ready. Great wait staff and prompt drink order (always a plus!), and terrific food! My husband got the ribeye and it was delicious! I would order it rare, however, as the medium rare was a little more done we prefer. I had the Firehouse burger and it met all of my expectations, just the right amount of heat and nice, thick burger. I had been kayaking and really wanted a satisfying meal, and it satisfied. My son had the Bison burger and he downed it before I had a chance to sample, but said it was great. My daughter had a basic burger (she's the picky eater) but really loved the fried mac-n-cheese bites. Good food, great atmosphere. read more

We have been going to River Wild for over 2 years- it's the only sit-down restaurant on the lake so choices are limited! Atmosphere is great and the service is generally good- but the food is disappointing. The menu has not changed AT ALL since we started going there and "specials" are the same things over and over. If you want basic food (burger, basic salad) this is the place to go. Other than that we are now making the drive into town. This was our first visit to Lake Tillery with our two friends who had eaten here last year when it first opened. The restaurant inside is not all that large but very relaxing and has wonderful atmosphere. If it's too crowded inside there is plenty of room outside overlooking the lake and marina. The service was quite good and the food was good as well but I'll get back to that. As soon as we sat down outside the ladies all smelled a foul, very foul smell. I thought, heck we're on a lake but they insisted it was different. More like rotten feet or dead corpse. So we decided to move inside. The smell followed us! By this time we were laughing so hard we had become a spectacle. We could not figure out the problem. My wife suggested they were cleaning the tables with a dirty towel. Meanwhile our very patient and lovely server did her best to clean the table with a fresh towel and sanitzer. The smell was still there. Finally after insisting the whole time that the three women were crazy I finally reached over and grabbed one their menus and took a huge whiff. Wholly bajeebers, I thought I was going to die and immediately threw the menus on another table. It became apparent that someone indeed had cleaned with a bad towel and then placed the menus on the foul surface. After more laughter and our friend running off to the restroom holding her sides we finally got things better and could focus on the food. I'm not going to review my wife's food because she made changes and doesn't eat her burger with the bun? But my Buffalo burger was outstanding. Incredibly juicy, with great bacon. The onion rings as well were the best I've had in a long time. One of our friends ordered a NY strip steak and let us taste it. It was crusted with what tasted like browned onions and brown sugar and well...just order it! As well the garlic mashed that came with it were top notch. And it came with enough asparagus for three people. Another review said they thought it was expensive but I was shocked how inexpensive it was... with drinks. We had a lots of laughs and hopefully they will give their menus some TLC. Bottom line...we will be back. And many times. We are already planning a boat rental and dinner on the lake. read more

Took a trip down to lake Tillery last weekend to visit some friends and ended up at this place. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a very nice and welcoming attitude from the hostess. As I approached the bar, Matt (the bartender) greeted me with a handshake and a coaster. He has a very nice selection to choose from and eventually (3 hr later lol) made me an awesome Old Fashion! The rustic look all around just makes you feel warm and welcome. Chris (the director of operations) made me feel rite at home and offered some good choices from the menu. First impression was "What a great looking place", but sad to say that way the best thing about our dinner. We were seated near the entrance to the kitchen and the servers computer work station, they needed traffic control, it was like sitting on the side of the interstate and watching the cars go by at rush hour. There were four adults in our group and each had something different. I had the crusted flounder, it should have been called crushed flounder, it was like the frozen fish patties from the grocery store, the fires were just barely OK, hush puppies were deep fried so long they were hard all the way thru, onion rings were the same way. Between the four of us there was more food left on the table than was consumed and non of us are picky eaters, overall the food was just fair at best. Between my husband and I, we have tried everything on the menu. The fish tacos, bison burger, and philly cheese steak are some of our favorites. I love their house made chips and always ask for the beer cheese to dip them in. If you get the appetizer nachos, make sure they do, in fact, have the beer cheese. If not, they will substitute it with regular shredded cheese without letting you know. Beware that weekends get crazy and you will wait. We usually go during the week to avoid the crowds. DO NOT sit in one of the three booths that are in front of the bar. People will stand around you and your waitress will have to yell at you from behind your booth because she will be unable to stand beside your table. This happened to us one time and we couldn't enjoy our meal. Other than that, they are pretty much always on their game. I've had to wait for my food a little too long occasionally but that wouldn't stop me from returning. Food is consistently good and service has almost always been great. I recommend! read more

Food was absolutely amazing I had the Cuban sandwich and it was great. On the side I had waffle sweet potato fries which were also great. My dad got the shrimp tacos and the shrimp had a great flavor along with the aioli in it.
