    Crab wonton

This place was so fun. Lots of locals partying, great service( Alexandra) and amazing live music. The violin player jamming out all these great Puerto Rican classics was so amazing. We came in bc we wanted food , it was 1030 and they were still serving. My wonton and crab salad, kind of like a dip, came out pretty quickly. And it was tasty. There was a problem with my husbands chorizo burger, they felt it was too small , so they were cooking another patty. It came out in awhile with double patties and a giant basket of fries. It was very good with a super cute presentation on a log slice and a cute fry basket. The mojiito I had was perfect and strong but in a good way. They had lots of flavors but I went for the classic. Don't miss this while wandering the streets of Old San Juan.

Strawberry mojito! Fresh ingredients and strong alcohol. Yum!

Cool spot with rope swings hanging from the ceiling! We went in the afternoon, but the place has a very club sort of vibe. They have swings directly inside the doorway, a quirk I had hoped would continue throughout the restaurant, but no luck. My sister and I managed to get a couple of cute pics in them on the way out. They have a variety of Mojito options. My sister chose the original while I opted for the strawberry. Absolutely delicious. The cocktails were strong and made with fresh ingredients. Mint and strawberry make a great combination. We ordered a sampler platter of deep fried foods, I could only eat the Guava option. I was told everything else on the plate was good, too. They offer a vegetable mofongo, which I hadn't seen on a menu before. Um, yes please. The food seemed to take a long time to come out despite it being pretty empty. I'm not sure what they cooked the veggies in, but they were good. The plantains were seasoned just right, too. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area.

    Great drinks always

This place is great, I always have a good time here and the mojitos are just right to give you that kick you need. Its a great pregame spot to start your night

I have been thinking about this fine place and hoping it was not badly damaged by the storms. Inspired by the full wall of simple paintings of saints on wood, I did a few in homage, including San Francisco de Florida, with flamingo, St. Clare as patron of TV. etc. Posting a photo of several.

At the entrance they say : " the best Mojito". We just decided to check and so far, that was the best mojito I ever had. We tried the mango mojito, kiwi and the traditional one. We definitely recommend this place.

It was the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday, roughly 4pm. We had been perusing through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan since the morning hours, with an eye toward finding a place where we could kick back a few and take in the local bar scene. Many of the places we'd been passing by were dead for the most part. And then we stumbled upon Rivera Hermanos. We were quicky drawn in by the medley of salsa music and loud patrons that was emanating onto the street. So we entered, cautiously at first. Clearly there were no toursists here, so our intial reaction was one of curiosity as to why it was so crowded. We were quickly offered a free mallorca sandwich by a bubbly middle-aged man behind the bar. "We are celebrating 39 years today" he said in Spanish, as he invited us to enjoy the party and help ourselves to as much free food as we wanted. We of course obliged, then spent the next few hours enjoying one of the most pleasant and spontaneous experiences we've ever had in any bar, anywhere. RH is run by three lovely ladies: Ibis, Marga and Mercedes--the last remaining first-generation Riveras that started the establishment. Ibis was my personal bartender for the duration of the party. She was incredibly friendly, always attentive, and made a killer rum and coke... which was only $3.50!! Draft beer was a mere $1.50... everybody was smiling and having a great time!! The live band was fantastic, the vibe so infectious that my wife and I danced along with the crowd; many of whom, we learned, were pro-independence from the U.S. We even ended up hanging out with the Puerto Rico Minister of Finance and his family. I could only imagine how much fun this bar is on regular nights! You just never know what you're going to find in a place like Old San Juan. Sometimes you just have to follow your ears. If you're looking for a bar that truly is "made by locals, for locals," then don't miss out on Rivera Hermanos. You will definitely love it... and so will your wallet.

Grabbed an iced latte and an iced tea to go: the latte was smooth and well-balanced, not over-roasted like a lot of tourist-zone coffee shops nearby, and the iced tea was refreshing after walking the cobblestone streets. The menu keeps it simple -- espresso drinks, paninis (Cuatro Sombras, Yauco, Viejo San Juan), open toast with avocado & egg or salmon, and a solid breakfast lineup with guava butter toast and dulce de papaya oatmeal that lean into the Puerto Rican flavor profile. Loved seeing local sodas and juices in the fridge case alongside the usual water and La Croix. Staff moved efficiently even with a small crowd at the counter. Good spot to duck into for a quality coffee break in Old San Juan -- feels like a real local roaster rather than a chain, and the space itself is worth a look even if you're just passing through.

My sister and I got the same sandwich, Cuatro Sombras Panini and it was delicious! A bit heavy on the garlic aioli but it gave it a lot of flavor I got and iced caramel latte, I like when I can taste the coffee more than the flavoring and it was a perfect balance. My sister got their iced mocha. She likes her coffee sweeter than I do but she still really liked her drink too. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because all the tables were a bit dirty. It wasn't busy when we first walked in but we still had to wipe down our own table

They originally told us 45 minutes because they were at MAX capacity. We put our names down and walked around to see what else was nearby, and no more than 10 minutes TOPS later,we got the text that our table was ready! Our waiter Mark was amazing and gave us great recommendations, especially the croquetas. 100% get the house ones instead of the regular jamón y queso! For brunch, I had the avocado toast with turkey, my S/O had the chicken sandwich, and both were SUPER delicious. The star for me was the jalapeño salsa verde--honestly one of the best salsa verdes I've ever had!The passion fruit mimosa pitcher was also great. One thing to know: the front seating near the door can get warm, but they have fans. If you really need A/C, the back seating is air-conditioned,so just ask if they can seat you there. The vibe, service, drinks and food checked all the boxes ,Definitely recommend!

We couldn't choose amongst all the empty tables, because staff were rude and dismissive. AC wasn't working, so we felt the humidity and heat. Ceiling fans weren't cutting it. We got the $25 wagyu burger and $20 Mallorca chicken sandwich, both of which were dry, bland, and underwhelming at best. The burger patty lacked flavor and there was no sauce or any accompaniments besides a very sad, wilted, thin slice of tomato and lettuce leaf. Pretty bad burger! The chicken sandwich was so heavily fried, we almost broke our teeth against the chicken. Insanely salty--we couldn't take more than a few bites. Felt so parched for the rest of the day. Fries were the best part of the meal--so salty and thin.

The colorful streets, floral murals, and charming walkways surrounding the café make it a perfect spot for taking pictures. Honestly, some of my favorite photos came from just walking around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't quite live up to the aesthetic. The coffee was pretty bland and tasted watered down. I also ordered a matcha, and it definitely wasn't what I expected. The color alone didn't resemble a traditional matcha, and the flavor was lacking. Overall, I'd come back for the ambiance, décor, and photo opportunities, but I hope the drinks improve because the café itself has so much potential.
