Such a pretty park! This was our meeting location for our food tour with A Little Local Flavor. It was easy to find and a cool spot to sit and watch people and look at the river while we were waiting. There is a really cool pedestrian bridge that goes over the river as well.

Pedestrian-friendly park along the Cumberland River, which offers terrific views of downtown and of the stadium, especially when you walk across the footbridge.

As far as riverfront parks go, this one is quite meager, not very attractive or welcoming, but right at the end of the main drag and adjacent to the small visitors center. To me, welcoming would be lots of benches or other areas to sit besides ledges as well as cool art installations or a water feature or other visual elements, but there wasn't much in that regard. The park has potential but hasn't reached it. The city should spruce it up. Line with street vendors or something. I was unimpressed.

Riverfront Park snakes along the back of 1st Ave and the Broadway tourist district. Portions of the land have been owned by Nashville since 1930, but it was officially named a park until 1980. It cost about $4.5 million, and opened to commemorate the Nashville Bicentennial. Today it has accumulated 18.70 acres. It has a dog park, a basketball court, a paved walking path, a canoe launch, and multiple historic features and commemorations. Most notably is the replica of Fort Nashboro, built in 1930 to commemorate the first Nashville settlers who settled this land. We started on the far end, near the Public Square, and walked up the Riverfront to Ascend Amphitheatre, passing statues, plaques, river views, and the beautiful outdoor theatre seating which was once for Dancin' the District and the New Years' Eve Show, but now is an open air concert venue throughout the year. I really like this park, and the city of Nashville has extended plans for it to renovate and expand it, and really make it a crown jewel of downtown. I'd be excited to see those plans be realized. We were down here while 1st and 2nd Avenues were still in the aftermath of the 2020 Christmas bombing, and it was eerily quiet. We walked and chatted about Timothy Demonbreun, the furtrappers that founded this city, and how the city of Nashville sprung from this centralized heart. It remains one of my favorite parks.

Not to be confused with Y-Front Park which is where I usually run around in my underwear. This beautiful rark in Nashville is right by the river. You never would have guessed that from the name right? It's absolutely gorgeous and spectacular with massive Bridges spanning the water and even a pedestrian bridge in the middle of it. You can see the huge imposing Stadium right across from the park, and it basically is situated in the area at the very end of Lower Broadway when you get down to the river. You will not find many parks with such beautiful urban and natural scenery combined. If it was a little bit more well-lit and safer at night I would give it a 5.

A great spot for a short walk with the pups and it is close to the downtown. The river runs down and the barges will often run down the lazy Cumberland River. The views of the NIssan Stadium which is just across the river sits off in the distance. Once you complete the walk of the park you head to Broadway and enjoy the honkey tonks as well as eating options.

Riverfront Park is--surprise! Right on the river! Across from LP Field, it used to be the home of Dancin' in the District--back in 1999 and 2000, I remember that to be a really fun summer concert series, with national and local bands performing almost every weekend in the summer months. It drew huge crowds. After a few years though, it seemed to just attract a bunch of riff raff, and my crowd stopped going. Anyway, they stopped the music series a few years ago, but they do still have various concerts and events out there. It's a pretty cool place actually--the bands are generally on barges on the river that act as stages, and concert-goers sit on the grass which is "stadium style" seating. There are numerous concessions and drink vendors out there, so bring your cash. It ain't cheap! Think fair food... I always keep an ear to the Riverfront Park event calendar, just in case something good comes along--I would definitely go back, but just know it usually is open to all ages! Never know what kind of crowd you'll encounter.

When you're ready to take a break from the hustle & bustle of Broadway, stroll down to 1st Avenue & check out Riverfront Park. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, I watched kayaks, bass boats, & a Pontoon Saloon cruise the Cumberland. & Everyone was zooming in on Nissan Stadium across the river, preparing for an NFL Exhibition game against the Bears the next day. I liked that the Park was laid out to allow seating on the steps & elevated grassy areas. Yes, I know it's "small" (5 acres) ~ but it's not like you can move 1st Street back, ya know? Now the Memphis Riverfront along the Mississippi River is a whole different story! I rode one of the Free Electric Buses parked here that made a loop to the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park via 4th & 5th Aves. Many attractions along this route or a couple of blocks off. A very helpful amenity.

One of my favorite clubs in Nashville. The only place that doesn't play country music which I love…read more I love when they play hip hop & top 40's. You can check out the calendar to see what they're playing for the night, the ambiance in there is great-definitely a mix of LA & New York. It's a mix crowd which I love. The manager & all the staff there are very welcoming, I normally reserve a table there when I go & the prices are very reasonable.

Nashville's lounge revolution continues. We've gotten Nashville's take on Brooklyn, LA and Vegas…read more the back corner is very Miami Beach. When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

The only downside is that I feel like they close the patio/space a little early around 10 PM, and after that the inside gets extremely packed and it's hard to move around. The mozzarella sticks were good, but a lot of them were missing cheese, which was disappointing. Overall, still a really fun spot with great food, drinks, and atmosphere. My husband and I visited on a Sunday evening for my birthday dinner with our three kids (ages 4, 3,…read moreand 1). I've been here at least 10 times over the past eight years. Parking was easy, with plenty of street parking nearby. We had a 5 p.m. reservation and arrived around 4:52. The doors were locked, and although an employee was standing just inside, we were asked to wait outside until exactly 5. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but it was about 95 degrees, I'm eight months pregnant, and we had three young kids with us. That wasn't a great first impression, and I think if reservations begin at 5, guests should be able to come inside a few minutes early. Once the doors opened, we were seated promptly. They had a high chair ready for our youngest, and our server was excellent throughout the meal. The restaurant has a trendy, upscale atmosphere, and while our oldest did great, I think it's a better fit for adults than families with very young children. One thing I really appreciated was that when we realized they only had glass cups available, our server found paper coffee cups for the kids. It was a small gesture that made the meal much less stressful. The sausage biscuits are still outstanding and easily my favorite item on the menu. The steak was good, but I wasn't impressed with the Cobb salad. Our kids shared the fried chicken and mac and cheese, and my husband ordered the pot roast. Our bill came to about $190 before tip. Overall, the meal was good, but it didn't feel like the special dining experience I remembered from previous visits. Between the rough start, the prices, and food that was good but not particularly memorable, I don't see us returning anytime soon. The service was kind, but for this price point, I expected more.

Contender for the best fries I've ever had. Now the steak was delish. We got a filet and ribeye, both delicious. For the price of this meal, it's so worth it. I loved the artists singing. It's the kind of place that gives you something a little different from your usual Nashville night out. We went on a Saturday and I ordered the filet. Every steak comes with the full spread: Salad, bread, and fries/onion rings. Great value for what you pay. The steak was cooked and seasoned well, the salad featured a standout buttermilk dill dressing that I really loved, unlimited rolls with that perfect touch of sweetness and salt, and a huge basket that's half onion rings, half fries. I was stuffed! The fries deserve a special mention. Thicker cut with an incredibly crispy exterior, almost like a potato skin in fry form. For drinks, I ordered their Filthy Martini and they let me call my gin of choice. Gin drinkers, you'll appreciate that. It was well crafted and exactly what I wanted. A few practical things worth knowing before you go. There is a $10 charge added to your bill that goes directly to the band, which I think is completely reasonable especially given the meal you're also getting. Parking is not validated or covered so plan accordingly. The band playing when we visited Saturday around 7:30 wasn't the most memorable I've heard in Nashville, but the lineup rotates so your experience may vary. Either way, having live music as the backdrop while you eat adds a really nice energy to the evening. Overall a worthwhile and unique addition to the Nashville dining scene.
