just leased a 2020 Prius Prime and had the pleasure of working with Alex. I've experienced good and bad customer service from different dealerships. I experienced GREAT service with Riverhead Toyota, and most importantly I got a great deal. I wasn't going to pay any dealer to lease my car. I'm a detail-freak unwilling to go forward with any business without researching and scrutinizing people, policies, competitors, and prices. I price hunt for the best possible deals and I expect good, no great, customer service for my business. From the start, I was greeted by very friendly and patient receptionists, who are energized, care about their jobs, and more importantly, care about their customers and potential customers for that. They are very personable and inviting, even when pressed with difficult, specific, detailed questions. I'd like to thank Ish and Diego for their hospitality through the process. Now for Alex, the salesman who leased me my Prius. He's the reason I went with Riverhead Toyota. He was very friendly, sociable, and totally willing to talk, take time with me and answer all my questions. Never once did I feel pressured or uncomfortable or like I was working with a salesman trying to push a hard sale on me. I really appreciate and respect the way he does business and how he treated me. I was not interested in committing to one dealer and expect dealers to work hard prioritizing me and my satisfaction as a potential customer, NOT pushing a sale. Alex was extremely patient the entire way through. From talking about Toyotas, Priuses, and Prius Primes for hours, communicating on his day off, me scrutinizing prices, payment options, features, to walking the lot in sticky, Long Island humidity that has us both sweating bullets, he really took his time with me to make sure I was comfortable, my needs were met, and I was happy. There were several times I asked some pretty difficult questions, like about returning a car in California early to lease a new one in New York, while still having two months on my lease, to finding the specific car that had ALL the features I wanted but still fell in my specific price point, which I would not budge on (I will gladly go to another dealership), I was never rushed, pressured, or left feeling uncomfortable or needing more information. He was transparent all the way through and I can tell he really cares about helping people meet their needs, while getting great deals. I would absolutely recommend doing business with Alex. He also got me a great deal. I'm going back to get roof racks installed on my Prius Prime, which is cheaper than my last regular Prius, and has leather seats and a beautiful large display in the cabin. Awesome experience. Ok Paul here is your review... As I put a deposit down at middle island and was satisfied. I got to thinking why am I not checking other dealerships. so I wattled my fat ass down to riverhead and showed them the paper I received from middle island and told them how much they were going to give me. For my trade in. And right away they were telling me the ringer I was going threw. As they calmed me down from my steam engine pop eye tooting head. they then went through the process like a respectable business. They would sit you down and tell you the actual options you were getting and not just shaking your head yes sir that's in there. I mean realizing what people are at the middle island store just gave me a bad taste in my mouth. Like that pepper corn crap in the honey ham ewwww. so after riverhead gave me the printout of the actual truck I would receive and lady's and gentlemen I got a stiffy just thinking about it. I have to be honest for a second. When you drive your truck or car to work every morning and back every night or overnight are you proud of your purchase? WELL I AM!!!!!. This truck is a masterpiece 2016 Tacoma Trd off road (black). Is it nice YES. Is it fun YES. Is it dependable YOU KNOW IT. I've owned 3 tacomas 2010, 2014, 2016, you mite ask me hey pal why buy a new one when you have a 2014. Here's why... New body, new engine, new everything I mean COME ON!!! This is a generational change why not have it!!!! This will become the standard in trucks. For the next 10 years. The one thing that angers me to high heavens is when some snobby guy from a review channel say the following.(this truck drives like a truck). I just want to throw my hands threw a tv screen and choke that SOB. Sorry got out of line there. Well anyway to say the least I mean I can go on and on but let's cut this short haha. David Zak at Riverhead Toyota was fantastic! After a very bad experience at one of the other Toyota dealerships on Long Island, we left that dealership and got to the dealership a half hour before they closed. David did not rush us through the process just to go home on time, quite the contrary. He stayed late, provided us with full details of the car we were looking into and did not play the "finance" game (this is when the salesman pretends to ask for a special request from the manager to give you a deal). He ran all the numbers in front of us and worked with us in what we wanted and what was in our budget. Since we ordered a special color and were looking to also add body molding onto our car, the car needed to be shipped. Not only did David show us the screen and explain what everything meant in terms of delivery, but he kept the line of communication open and would constantly keep us updated, either by phone or text message. When the car came in, he didn't brush us over to the finance folks, he made sure that it was everything we were looking for, let us give it a thorough quality check and test drive it without making us feel uncomfortable about the process. Even after we met with finance, we had a couple more questions that came to mind and he made sure we were fully informed before we left. The car, by the way, came shipped with only one mile!!! And that was to gas it up! Later that same day he sent us a nice text message to make sure we were still happy and letting us know he was still available to answer questions afterward. First let me start off by saying I'm not much of a reviewer. Posted reviews on Trip Adviser before but never on Yelp even though I use it all the time. What happened here is something I think Yelppers should know. Let's start off by saying this isn't the closest Toyota dealer to my home but I ended up here on account of one of my good friends recommending it. I walked in to the place and was greeted right away by the woman at the desk. She called for someone to help me. He came up and introduced himself. His name was Pat, very nice guy. I knew what I wanted which was a Rav4. Told him that. We sat down at his desk and he asked questions so as to put me in the right one. Pat wasn't pushy and let me speak. He genuinely seemed to care about my needs and budget. He let me drive one. i knew I wanted one but now it was all about price. This is the part I hate about buying cars. Well it went better than I could have hoped for. Easy and I think very fair. Came to an agreement and 2 days later I was driving home in a new Rav4. Pat took the time to go over everything as I had a lot of questions. Very pleasant experience. Even meeting with the Finance manager wasn't too bad a little pushy but not excessively. Now Yelppers if you want a Toyota you must go to Riverhead Toyota and ask for Pat. you will not be disappointed I promise. read more

UPDATE: I have always said,it is how a vendor resolves a customer issue that determines how it should be rated for customer satisfaction. In my case, Toyota Riverhead exceeded my expectations in their efforts to address my concerns. My many thanks to Joel M., manager and John, who checked my Prius in for service for their professionalism and their efforts at ensuring customer delight!. UPDATE: Management quickly reached out to me and I am working with them on a resolution. Will update review again once issue is resolved. BIG THUMBS DOWN ON CUSTOMER SERVICE! Had to leave a message for service to setup safety recall for my 2010 Prius. Two hours later, no call back, so I called again and was told it would take 8 hours while I wait for Toyota to perform the work. When I pressed and told them when I lived in Wantagh, 2 Nassau County dealers told me 2 hours. I then got an answer of 3 hour wait which is unacceptable. No explanation given as to why in Nassau it takes 2 hours to fix and in Riverhead, the same repair takes 3 hours. As I result, I will not have the service done. Never going back to RIverhead Toyota for service or a new car. read more

I just leased my 4th vehicle at Riverhead Toyota and can honestly say the whole process could not have gone any smoother. Jamie the salesmen was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles and answered any questions we had. I appreciated the fact that he explained IMPORTANT things about the vehicle ex. How to release the spare tire.. not just about the Bluetooth (not that that's not important also) but I never felt spoken down to because I was a female. The manager Chad was always available , super friendly and very honest. Peter the finance manager was very straight forward, explained extra programs available but there was no pressure. He was very easy to talk with, honest and truly a pleasure. We have been very happy also with our vehicles being serviced at riverhead Toyota . The waiting room is clean , comfortable , and I have never waiting long for my vehicle to be completed . First I want to say that this is a retraction from a previous review that I removed after the Dealerships immediate response. I originally brought my Prius to Riverhead Toyota with a 12 volt battery problem that in all fairness was installed by another out of state dealership. After speaking with the Service Department Manager Mike Hamill about my issue, Mike decided to give me a new replacement battery even though he knew he would not be reimbursed by Toyota Corporate. That's right THEY ATE THE COST !!!How often do you hear of that happening ??? This gesture on Mike's part immediately changed my bad feeling about the dealership that I had grown to love before this issue. They once again have a very satisfied customer that will be returning for service ,parts and a new Prius in the future. After all don't we all just want to be appreciated and treated fairly as loyal customers ??? Mike made it right and I appreciate his efforts. Purchased a 2016 Highlander Limited (Platinum pkg) and must say the Riverhead Toyota staff were great! Our Sales Consultant was Mr. Charles Mburu. He was excellent! If you're thinking about purchasing a Toyota, we highly recommend choosing him as your Consultant. He was "no pressure" and fully answered every question we asked in order to determine if we would purchase or not. He took his time with us and wasn't pushy. He worked with us on the purchase price so we were satisfied it was an acceptable price. It was a fair deal for all parties. John Lunde absolutely took care of me and my Tacoma. My '17 Tacoma had a factory leak and instead of simply saying there is no water leak or like a typical dealer blaming it on the customer, John stripped my truck down and located the source of the problem, which came down to a gap in the cab. John made sure the truck had the foam replaced and took care of getting my truck in like new status. Also, since it developed a smell he made sure I was satisfied and had the truck returned cleaned and removed the smell. Finally as they had the truck for sometime due to the level of detail needed, he was determined to keep me happy and provided me with a loaner 2018 Tacoma which was fun to drive. I have been looking for a car on and off and Riverhead Toyota was very professional throughout my process, they left me alone when I needed time. When I was ready to buy which turn into a lease my salesperson, David Zak went over and above what I expected. I first thought I wanted a Rav 4, but decided I needed to lower my carbon inprint so on my second visit Dave had 2 cars waiting for me to try. A Prius Prime, when the dealership didn't have the color and interior I wanted they got one from another dealership. Found a specific new 4Runner in their inventory. My wife and I drove 2 hours to the dealership and we were glad we did. Our first Toyota purchase and things couldn't have gone better.
