I needed to get a Medallion STAMP notary for some financial paperwork, and Rivermark was able to do this free of charge for their members! (When we inquired about this service at Chase, they said it was nearly impossible to get one.) Beatriz was very patient working with me to gather all of the necessary documents. I unfortunately have a an auto loan and savings account through Rivermark which Advantis just merged with and the merger has not gone well. I have spent more time holding online or with the call center who are not actually Rivermark employees and are completely inept. I still have not received a call back from an actual loan officer or supervisor from Rivermark regarding a very time sensitive matter regarding my loan. You would think they would prioritize the patrons and plan well for something like a merger but it is very clear that we don't matter. I was told to just go into a branch location which would be easy if I actually lived locally but I live over a hundred miles away. Advantis was *amazing*. Too bad Rivermark is already not living up to the amazing, customer-first service that Advantis provided. read more

Don't join this credit union, leave it. I was with Advantis but then they were acquired by Rivermark. They used to be good but went downhill. Now their customer service is awful and will waste your time. We tried to purchase a house through them, being long-time members. They said they would be glad to do our home loan, but after our offer was accepted they went to "underwriting" for 5 days, then let us know they actually don't handle our kind of loan. Other banks knew this up front - Rivermark's own loan officers didn't. After wasting 5 precious days towards our closing and funding date, we had to start at square one with a lender. Luckily a different bank had their act together and was able to deliver in time, but my partner and I are two hard-working professionals who make well, well into the six figures and Rivermark was still unreliable. It took A TON of follow-ups to submit and learn more about the home loan. Now it's later and we were trying to open a joint account and credit card, and we got shuffled around by a customer service person, my partner unfroze her credit, then he forgot to check it and stopped responding to callbacks, so the window for her credit closed. We went into the branch today and they still couldn't move it forward. Frankly, WE GIVE UP. We value our time. We aren't looking for a bank who can't even close deals if we babysit them. We're switching away. Check the reviews of the banks you're thinking about joining and go with a better rated one than this. That's exactly what we're doing - we're leaving to a bank that provides reliable customer service and that doesn't require you to throw your time into a dumpster fire. read more

And had to get a new card ..then now it is still posted to my account !! Better communication and customer service needed. Bank relied on sending one piece of mail with no receipt verification and no back up electronic communication. Advantis provided a higher bar of customer service before the merger. Prior to CD maturity, we received a call, mail, and email communication. read more

I had been charged for an account that was dormant but was never was notified about that so I went from 600 or so to 78 something

I paid off my car based on the payoff amount they gave me. However, they added an extra balance of $0.25 after I had already paid.

The merger has been awful for this credit union. Staff is confused, there are system errors causing problems, and app is still down. They closed for several days with no notice to their customers and online banking was unavailable during that time. Completely unacceptable and frustrating. read more

Had a horrible and abusive situation at this bank today. After bailing my niece out of jail this morning, we went to this bank so that she could get money out of her account to pay me back. They refused to give her the money even after I provided the assistant manager, Beatriz De La O, with a receipt of the bail transaction. This woman treated me like a criminal and acted in a very bizarre and unprofessional fashion. How unethical for a bank to refuse to give a customer funds from her account and how unprofessional and immoral for them to hire a person with such poor customer service skills. *** This is about opening an account online *** Rivermark was offering 100$ to open an account so I wanted to take them up on it. I prefer to open an account online for a myriad of reasons and they do offer that. The big difference with Rivermark than I have seen with any other bank at this point is they require you to upload a picture of your ID. This is a process I am not a fan of because, to me, it opens up another option for identity thieves. Maybe not through their system but I have to take a picture and in this case email it to myself to upload it from my PC. After doing all that and the rest of their lengthy steps, it says there's a problem and I have to call a number. I call and the woman tells me the system cannot verify my ID, social security number or some other part of the information I gave. She said I will have to go into a branch to open an account. What was the point of all that? I just uploaded and gave all my personal information only for nothing to happen?? I am going to guess it is my address. My home is brand new but built about a year ago. My address comes up in Google and has been found when doing business with literally every other company. Rivermark must use Mapquest or something because they are the only one who cannot find me. Other banks I have signed up with online have found my address. They don't have as many branches as OnPoint so trying to make time to drive in to see them is much more of a hassle than even 100$ may be worth. Be weary of a company that makes you give all your personal information only to force you to come in. Already lost a lot of points with me before I ever became a member. read more

Went to open an account and was really surprised of how cool and modern this branch is. From being greeted by nice people up front, to seeing the modern technology being employed at the live atm teller machines, I felt like this was finally a Credit Union for me. I've been with ONPOINT for about 10 years and after having multiple issues with online access and their non working or buggy mobile app, it is time for a change. Rivermark's rate are lower by a full percent than Onpoints on Credit cards, plus you get rewards on even basic checking. The auto loan experience was below mediocre (and I'm being generous), but the customer service and branch experience is where it hit me the most. The moment they have you locked in, they're done with their "genuine" style to help you. I understand rules and regulations, so I don't mind keeping up with those. The dissatisfaction I have is solely on how they treat current customers. Very much less than ideal. I can't speak about their savings or checking accounts, but the auto loan wasn't a pleasant experience. They did have a few reps that were helpful at times, but the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth for ever wanting to do business with them moving forward. We've been members of Rivermark Credit Union for over ten years, and have obtained and paid off auto loans, personal loans, and kept payments timely. We recently requested a pre-approval for a new car loan to replace an older car. We asked for $25,000 and it was pre-approved. When we found a car we wanted for $17,000 and submitted it to RM, we were told they would only loan us 90% of the value of the vehicle and that the loan interest would be almost 14%. (A 9-year-old bankrupcy was the problem, they said.) Then they under valued the vehicle by almost $3000 on Kelley Blue Book. This was very frustrating and came as a surprise, as they didn't bother to tell us beforehand that they'd only finance 90%. Sarah was our representative and she was unconcerned. We went to a friend, David D'Angelo, who owns a car dealership and asked if he would buy the car from our seller, then immediately sell it to us. He said he'd be happy to. He took our information and submitted to several banks and credit unions, including Rivermark. He came back with an approval from Rivermark for 100% loan request at 13% and an additonal $4000 if we wanted to purchase a warranty! A DEALERSHIP WAS OFFERED A BETTER DEAL THAN LONG-TIME MEMBERS OF THEIR CREDIT UNION?? We were not happy to see how little valued we are as their customers and members. David only asked $250 for his time and for the ease of transaction (better than our own credit union) it was well worth it. David went on to find us an even better deal from Selco Credit Union. The car we financed was valued at $18,838 on CarFax and we got a 100% loan at 10% interest with $4000 for an optional warranty if we wished. We are closing our account at Rivermark Credit Union. Our friend, David D'Angelo at D'Angelo Auto Sales in Hillsboro was a hero and we highly recommend him for all things auto. We even received a Thank You card from him afterwards with a picture of us and our new car, and two wrapped brownies from Sendout Cards--amazing customer service. read more

Well, I have been trying to contact their custom service for days.. Finally, I had to go there to talk to someone. Looked for the branch manager - not available. They told me I was lucky because most customers have to wait an hour. Unbelievable. I have been a member of credit union for a long time. New got treated that was. I do no think the employees care. So at the end of the day, they couldn't access my account either. That is crazy. You would thing they would have tested their own system before releasing it and make customers change over. I was pretty impressed with the latest upgrades to Rivermark's online banking services. I thought the alerts they offered were a nice feature and I appreciate the alert when a large deposit is made to my account. But...I HATE getting a reminder every single morning that I have a $0.00 payment due to my Visa account. The "payment" was due three days ago and I continue to get the alert that I owe them $0.00. What do I have to do to stop the alerts? Make a payment of $0.00? I called Rivermark to find out why I would get an alert when there is a $0.00 balance and was told It is because I set up the alert. The only options I can find is to turn on an alert 5 days before payment is due and when it is past due. I would have liked an alert, if I had a bill that might go past due and my credit would be adversely affected but apparently my only option is to turn off the alert. I hope Rivermark got kissed when they purchased this software package because they and their customers got screwed! I think it is time to shop for a new credit union. read more

Things didn't go as planned and I was down to the nitty gritty at around 5:00 p.m. The credit union closes at 5. But Chris Crouch and Justin Taal stayed late to facilitate my purchase. They were so friendly and helpful in funding my car loan. After a frustrating day of dealing with dealerships, my dealings with Rivermark were perfection. When I started here I was promised everything. The one time I needed help I was told that was not their problem. The final straw for me was there ATMs going down at several locations when I needed to make a deposit after hours. The video ATMs are a novelty at best. First Yelp review but I have to do it. This place has Kiosk banking. It's like self check out but for banking. When you come in, there will be around four people standing or sitting in various places in the bank. These are not tellers or people that are there to help you. They will vaguely point to the ATM and there you will do your banking. Anything you try to explain to these "tellers" about your visit will have to be repeated to the "virtual teller" you get connected to at the ATM. Today I was put on hold at the ATM for 25 minutes. I mean it, I stood awkwardly in front of an ATM and listened to the employees talk. Apparently one of their friends is a tattoo artist and you wouldn't believe how much he is able to network. His profession really does thrive off of word of mouth and pro bono art pieces. Super interesting, right? Especially when you are standing in silence in a place while four people ignore you and nobody "virtual" or otherwise checks in with you. They are sentient house plants and once you enter the building you are too. So inefficient and unfriendly and frankly, stupid. Very unhappy and will be changing banks because of this. To a bank, not a set from a B-Movie rip off of Blade Runner set in an awkward and mostly silent and unhelpful future. Update: Every single representative that I talked to regarding this issue directly and efficiently addressed the issues I brought to their attention with this review. I am blown away by the response and wanted to make sure that people knew how much they care about customer concerns. However, today I went again to deposit cash from a garage sale and the atm couldn't take the bills. The automated teller tried to help from her end but really couldn't. The bills were brought in a flat Manila envelope, they weren't wet or crumpled. We tried doing a four bills at a time but the atm kept spitting the money out after it made noise for 30 seconds. This is just too hard. I want to be able to walk into the bank and deposit a check made out to me easily. I want to walk into a bank and deposit cash easily. I mean, these are very essential aspects of banking and they are expected. Both times I lost time out of my day for no reason. I tried to stick by them but this is it. We are going to a bank with tellers and drawers and in person customer service and solutions. This is just proof that trying to automate a banking service isn't working. Read the other reviews, this place is a mess because they fail abysmally at small, simple transactions. They have great digital customer service but with baking it is just not enough to get a solid apology because they are a bank that can't provide services you'd expect from a bank. Biggest complaint is you cannot call an individual branch directly. Every time we need a question answered we end up connected to their main branch. So the problem there is; it takes a minimum of 10 minutes, usually longer, to get ahold of a representative. So next time we were in town we stopped into the branch and explained our frustration. We were very pleased when the representative gave us her business card and wrote her 'direct number' on it. Cool...right??? Nope...that number rings directly into the main number, not the branch. So back to sitting a s hold. Last Thursday I called the number on the card and some guy answered 'hello'. It took awhile before he finally told me he was working from home and asked how I got his direct number I told him I just called the number on the card. Anyway he was nice and asked if he could help. I explained what I needed and he said he would e-mail a representative and ask them to call me. Well, now over 96 hours later and no return. About ready to change to another bank. read more

I am leaving rivermark after multiple occasions where I am at a grocery store or some other sort of establishment trying to pay and because rivermark is doing "scheduled maintenance" I can't pay for my things. My card gets declined for no reason at all, when I am 100% positive I have funds available! Not to mention the teller I was on the phone with hung up on me after I told her I was unhappy and was thinking about closing my account. I am moving back to OnPoint credit union as they are actually A+ rated and accredited with the BBB! Rivermark isn't even accredited at all with them. Worst bank I have ever used! read more

I just opened my Rivermark account a few days ago, and went in to this Beaverton branch to deposit some cash. I was the only one in line, there were 3 tellers there, but they were all chatting with each other. So I'm just standing there in the line waiting for someone to notice me. How awkward... Finally the guy at the end acknowledges me. I go up and say that I just opened my account up a few days ago I don't have my debit card yet and I just need to deposit this cash. I gave him my ID and he found my account and proceeds to ask me tons of questions about how my account opening went. I answer his questions, even though I just wanted a quick transaction. Then he tries to force me to use their Video Kiosk and even says we'll learn it together. I tell him thanks but no thanks, I'm in a hurry right now. He RUDELY says, "ummmm, alrighty then". Then tells me "we are eventually going to have everyone using these kiosks". Great, but I don't really care. I. Just. Want. To. Deposit. My. Cash. ok? So, I politely say "ok well I will check out the Kiosk when I actually have my debit card in hand". He says nothing to me after that. He completes my transaction, hands me my receipt and I say "thanks, have a good one!" And the only thing he says is "Yep, see ya!" I hope my experience with Rivermark gets a lot better because this first impression sucked big time. read more

So far we have had the best banking experience with Rivermark compared to any other 'regular' bank Rivermark always seems like they are willing to work with you (from what I had heard from other relative who have had them for years) and so far they have always had good customer service. Their credit cards also have some of the lowest interest rates compared to other, similar credit cards. read more

I got a call from Rivermark's Fraud Alert and learned of it while they were trying to use my cards. No damage was done as a result. THis place is a little tricky to find, I drove right past it and didn't realize it, until I looked at the posted picture on yelp and then I found it when I drove back a 2nd time. I went at 4:00 pm on a Tuesday (of a Holiday Week-2 days before Thanksgiving to be precise) and I was the only customer in the place. It was very refreshing not to have a line or any sort of wait. However, I may have had some bad body language or have been sending of some rude vibes that I was not aware of, because I came in to deposit a check that was a refund from my student loans. Although, I usually do mobile banking at home, that perticular check was too large to qualify. I was a little caught off guard when the Teller/Banker said to me, "have you heard of mobile banking before?" It just came across as snarky to me, like they didn't need my business in there slowing them down or something. Maybe I was just overly sensitive on that day, but most of the time Rivermark is over the top friendy and helpful, especially the Hawthorne Location that I'm used to. read more

Had an awesome experience here. Krissy was the teller assisting me and she was so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was my first time visiting this branch and she took the time to get me situated with my needs and more! She filled me in with easier ways to access my account through the iPhone app., she transferred my current account to one with better rewards and interest, and I can go to any ATM machine. If I could do less than one star, I would. Been with them for years and it's been ok, just. Recently lost my ATM card for the first time ever, was told it would take 7-10 BUSINESS days to get me a new one, which is about 2 weeks. I couldn't wait that long, so took off work 2 hours early, losing pay, 2 drive 45 minutes to the closest branch to get a card. After about 30 minutes with a rep, it turns out their system was down so I couldn't get a card. No offer was made to resolve it. I couldn't afford the gas and lost wages to try again in hopes they had their s--- together next time, so I called and they said all they could do was send me a card, 7-10 days. Talked to a supervisor and EVENTUALLY got them to expedite a card to get here on Saturday, the only day I could be home to sign for it, which is bs anyway. Ran up to meet the mail carrier, no card, so chatted to them to get the tracking # and no request to send the card was on file, so same story, 7-10 business days, at which point will be a MONTH from losing my card, or go in, in the hopes they can get me a card this time. I'll be taking off work early to drive there again to close my account. Screw them, they don't care about their customers and have no problem lying to them! read more

You do not offer a service to issue cashiers checks, and I have to be a royal member of your pathetic institution to have a notary sign a one page quick sign document??!! I've been to many banks who offer this service for free, I was willing to pay you a FEE lol. You won't even accept that offer, you turn people away if they're not in your lame club of membership. I've been a member for a couple of years, but after my experience on Friday, I will NEVER go anywhere else. Long story, so I won't bore you with all the details. But, at the end of a very stressful, emotional, exhausting week of being stranded in the storm, having to leave my car and walk 3 miles home on Wed night, not being able to get to work, trying Uber several times without success because they couldn't make it to my house either, I was finally free on Friday afternoon. I had to get to the bank to make a deposit and transfer some funds. (I tried using the shared services of partner credit union because it was closer to my house. But no, they wouldn't help me.) I finally arrived to the Beaverton location but it was a bit after 6:00 and they were technically closed. I stood at the door anyway and they must have taken pity on me, because they opened up and let me in. They even said, "your're here to transfer some funds and make a deposit, right?" In my panic to get there on time I called the general number at their service center, to see if the Live Teller feature would remain open. But they were closing early as well because of the weather. The man I spoke to on the phone actually called the branch and let them know I was on my way. There were 4 or 5 people (I wish I could remember their names) trying to close up their drawers and work load so they could get on the road and get home. They all were so nice to me. Told me to come in, relax, we'll get you taken care of.....and they did! I have no doubt that if I was a member of the first credit union I stopped at, and it had been after 6:00, they would not have opened their doors to me.
