Yelp exists because of places like this. The lunch started out alright... There were a few patrons already sitting on the patio and the server let us choose any table we wanted. Drinks and waters arrived promptly and we had little reason to think a culinary disaster was about to strike. I wish I had looked closer at those patrons before we sat. The dour looks on their faces coupled with the fact no one had any food should have been a huge red flag. We ordered the typical bar food: a jumbo pretzel, two cheeseburgers, and an order of chicken strips. We asked that the pretzel be served first. The server (whose lack of training became evident as the lunch wore on) walked away into the kitchen. After ten minutes of wondering how long it took to microwave a pretzel, the server came back to tell us they were out of jumbo pretzels, but it could be replaced by their jalapeño pretzel. I said ok. Another ten minutes later, the server came back with two cheeseburgers for two of us. She lied, "I only have two hands, I'll be right back with the chicken strips." Our third dining companion did not get his order. You know how the story ends. We finished the cheeseburgers, drinks, and water before the appetizer and the chicken strips came out. We asked that the chicken strips be put in a to-go box because it had been over a hour since we sat down. We asked the server to speak to a manager, no one came. I went inside to try to find someone, and I watched a family of flies buzz about as the bartender got on the phone to call a manager. No one picked up. She opened a "communication log" to a random page and told me to write my name, number, and complaint and someone would get back to me. I laughed at the absurdity of her request. I think the sad thing is no one knows what's going on down there at the Cantina. There's no manager... There's no accountability for the staff... I don't even think our concerns about the ticket times were communicated to the kitchen! The shitty reviews for this place are no fluke. You have been warned: go somewhere else! read more

It is walking distance from Blue Water Resort and Casino and the boat docks. Since I was staying at the hotel, I figured my boyfriend and I could walk there to the Cantina so we showed up Saturday night mostly because we were hungry. It was busy and they seemed understaffed. I asked a waitress that I wanted to order food and If I could have a table and she directed me to a room. Bascially If you wanted food, there was a self service area, which was tucked away, far from the music and ambiance. We waited in line for about 20 minutes and left. If I would have been sitting at a table, I could have had a drink and been ok with waiting on food, maybe even had another beer while the music played. I wanted to give it a second shot so we showed up in the morning for breakfast. It was greasy but when you're hungover, it was just what the doctor ordered. The service was completely different. With the number of flies on the counters you would think the place had a rotting carcass hidden somewhere. Hundreds of flies on every surface. The cooks spent most of their time at the grill waving flies away when I visited. On the way to the Cantina I encountered an extremely intoxicated woman. She was holding the railing trying to maintain her balance because she was so drunk she couldn't walk. While helping her, she told me that the bar staff kicked her out after letting her get that drunk. She was so intoxicated that making her leave alone without getting her help was nothing short of criminal negligence. She was nearing the point of blacking out. The Cantina was dirty and all the tables were filthy. The staff just stood around, talking. Not a place worth visiting. Ever. read more

How can one complain about this place and the location? You're on the Colorado River, your favorite Happy Hour drink in hand, the sun shining, skiers going by, what a day. My only complaint was the service, but that was because we inundated them with too many people for so few staff members. So, I am not counting that this time. :) Fantastic Hangover Burrito! It had all of the meats, sausage, ham, chorizo, bacon....potatoes as well. So delicious! Huge burgers, not my fav, but good for the area. It's beachy bar food, come on! We set our bar low and are coming out with three stars. Didn't even finish the burger or loaded nachos because they were so bad (on a Sunday afternoon), but the ambiance was ok, reggae music live and a little loud, and $25 later we were ready to get back to a/c. Or a boat. If we had one. Best for bottled beers or simple food. Don't hold your breath for super friendly or timely service...that's just how they roll. Great location, incredible view, and the worst service ever. Everyone up and down the strip makes fun of this place. Great concept, horrible execution. I'm sure during the warm months this is a hopping place with beers afloat and finger food stuffing bellies. However, for a "meal" I don't think I would suggest the walk down to the river to indulge if visiting during the cooler months. They do have a very special Breakfast Club menu with very low prices, but even those specials leave something to be desired. If you "need" to stay on the river (did a little too much partying), you could probably satisfy yourself, but a quick drive into town will provide you with less expensive food. Was paying through area on motorcycle and decided to stop for a bite. First off,be aware this on site of casino - but it's physically apart from casino. You have a few other dinning option inside of casino but I didn't want to go INSIDE and instead longed for the cool March evening air of the Colorado River. We have given this place 3 tries.... We love the view!! However the service is horrible. The last time we went there we took a friend who was visiting from out of town and we sat there while we were completely ignored by the waitress. The food is fair at best! Okay Brad G I would like to know what bar you where at cause The Rivers Edge Cantina is located in the middle of a no wake zone, the river in every direction for at least 3/4 of a mile is no wake zone, I have been going to the river in this area for the last 50+ years I know the area well before the casino was there this area was the best place to ski, we still go to this area to hang out at the sandbar across the way, but as far as going to the cantina the food is okay the drinks are good but the wait for either one sucks read more
