My $5 slice of chocolate cream pie
    Michelle B.

Walked in and waited to be seated. There was one group to tge right of the door. One group to left. One patron at the bar/counter. And there were five or six dirty tables. The hostess/waitress said there was a clean table I the back. I went back and sat down right across from the restrooms. The smell was horrid! I cannot believe the smell. I decided that I wasn't going to be able to adjust to the smell. Rather than be rude, I asked if I could get a slice of chocolate cream pie to go. It seemed like an odd request, but I thought someone should fix the smell in the back and bus some tables (there was only one younger waitress/hostess there so I doubt she can do everything herself, but still, tables have to be bussed). One slice of pie cost $5.14 -- there was a transaction fee to use a debit card. Really? I'm not sure one slice of pie is worth $5 -- considering that this looks like a premade pie (no one at this establishment made this pie) I am disappointed. Won't be back due to the smell and high cost of a slice of pie. I mean, I couldn't get away from the smell fast enough. Plus: The waitress/hostess was nice. I feel bad she has to be around that smell. And it's unfortunate she doesn't have any help.

Earns coffee shop is your basic run of the mill coffee shop. It's what you might expect in a little dusty town. Although that may not sound impressive, it's one of the only decent breakfast places in this part of town. I ordered breakfast with three eggs and bacon. Hit the spot! Can't really complain. The waitresses were all courteous and kept our coffee's filled. I wouldn't mind going back.

Coffee Ern's is on the I-95 as you head South towards Quartzsite and Yuma. As I drove though Parker... a busy little place that caters to the weekend vacationers... I really needed a coffee and began to wonder if there was caffeine anywhere outside of the resorts. I pulled into Coffee Ern's because of the name, not interested in breakfast but looking for a good cup of joe. This is a 50s diner complete with booths and waitresses in cute uniforms. One came over immediately but informed me that the coffee here was not what I was looking for. But, if I wanted to simply get a good coffee, I should head over to the Starbucks in the Safeway. Then she and a few other waitresses joked very tongue in cheek that I should bring them back lattes too. The interaction was really cute and their sense of humour made my day. The coffee itself was rather meh.

Hands down best breakfast place in Parker. Simple, nice, clean and consistent!!! I always order my eggs over easy and they always come out perfect, not uncooked. They are super quick too, even when they are busy.

On the main drag. Can't miss that sign!

I haven't been there for a few years but they are really good. Their Mexican cuisine is the best in town. Good workers. Place was clean.

Coffee Ern's is a nice place with charm. A pleasant alternative to the cookie cutter world we live in. Nice people, good food.

An older songtress was at the mic, crooning a sorrowful "Send in the Clowns" as we shuffled to our seats, some of us with a little extra boogie behind each step. I scanned the place and noticed there weren't any karaoke song/title books strewn about... we found out through our friendly waitress that you just tell the Karaoke Master the name of your song and you're good to go. 'Modern,' I thought to myself. I racked my brain for the perfect song for such a perfect place. Piano Man? The crowd did look pretty good for a Saturday. Sweet Caroline? Jesse's Girl? I didn't know. Brian suggested "Friends in Low Places" and we were off to the races. I put both my name and Brian's in for the song. 'It was going to be a duet,' I thought. Good. While we were waiting to entertain the crowd with our vocal talents, we ordered dinner and drinks. Everything was amazing, by the way. Finally, the time had come. The Karaoke Master announced our names, "Chris and Brian, you're up!" I gulped and tugged at my collar. I said to Brian, "Well, here goes nothing." He looked at me and said, "let's rock this place." His fist bumped mine. We both got out of our chairs and headed to the stage. I grabbed the mic, pulled it in close. The microphone smelled like beer. 'Damn,' I thought. 'We should've gone with Piano Man.' No matter, the show must go on. The screen said "Friends in Low Places" is sung in the key of A major, but I ignored it because I did not know what that meant. "Blame it on my roots," we sang. "I showed up in boots," we continued. By the time we got to the chorus, the crowd was up on its feet, the excitement palpable. The locals had started a line dance during the second verse and people were fighting to get to the dance floor. I can't remember if there was disco ball going at some point, but it *felt* like there was, you know? Our collective vocal modulations continued throughout the song, each verse getting somehow better, as if each of us was singing back-up to each other's lead vocals, hearts beating in unison, too. We won over the Big River crowd at Dumas Walkers that night. As Brian and I finished to what felt like thunderous applause, we headed back to our seats, hands clapping our backs, when I heard one patron whisper, "I'd hate to follow that." High praise, it felt good. "Chris, you're up!" the Karaoke Master announced. 'An encore,' I thought. 'Nice.' We stayed for dessert.
