A group of family recently was in town and we decided to eat at Rivers Edge due to the great reviews. The food was good, the place was nice, and our server was fine, but this negative review is based solely on the actions of the Manager. My partner has a dietary restriction, she cannot have dairy. When we arrived, she went through a common routine for us with the server. She'll ask about a number of dishes, and ask what is (or may be modified) to be dairy free. Then she picks something that she can have from there. She ordered with the table and we had two rounds of appetizers while we waited. The issue started when we were about to be served our dinners. The Manager walked over and stated that they were unable to make her dish dairy free and asked her to order again...when everyone's dinner was going to be served. Her tone was poor and she showed little to no empathy. She said she "can't make miracles happen". The news was delivered so poorly that my partner left the restaurant crying and went elsewhere to eat. The timing of the notification made no sense, since we were there approximately an hour at this point and they could have told us when the issue was discovered and not before the rest of the food was ready to be served. A couple of us talked to her (the Manager) in the stairwell and let's just say that conversation didn't go well either. No one really raised their voice, but she took no accountability, nor offered any solutions. If I was in her shoes, I would have told the kitchen to prep something quick and easy and non dairy, perhaps some sides or an app. I'd comp that mini dish and call it something silly like the "We screwed up platter." Ask her to order something new, but give her that plate to eat with the family and maybe a free drink. Do something to make it right and not act like you and the team did not make multiple errors along the way and tell her to watch everyone eat. Because that is what she did, she expected her to watch everyone at the table eat. On top of that, not only was there no offer to make anything right, we were charged extra! We were charged for a party of 8, but only had 7, which became 6 when my partner left. They took off the extra charge when we asked, but it shows how little they cared. read more

What a great new place!! Four of us girls met for snacks and drinks on a weeknight. Lovely ambiance from the inside to the perfect outside dining and bar areas. There are 2 floors plus outside semi covered area. The servers were super conscientious and helpful in ordering and getting drinks. The food was delicious.... we shared Firecracker Shrimp and killer good Brussel sprouts! Also had the yummy chicken sliders and fries. So so good!! Check this new restaurant out! Restaurant upstairs and Pub downstairs. Both spaces are equally cool but in different ways. The staff is exceptional very friendly and Beckie was incredible. As an Italiana girlie I have very high standards and expectations and came in unsure how good it was going to be. Well I will definitely be coming back. The pasta special that they had tonight was very garlic forward and super yummy. Keeping those vampires at bay tonight which is a great thing. The Brussel sprout side is one of the best that I have had. Their gnocchi was very pillowy and tender. Got the meatball and burrata the only thing I could see making it a little better is more bread to eat all the sauce with. Can't wait to come back. read more

Second visit...second review. We dined here tonight on the patio with friends. The weather was perfect, so al fresco was a great choice. We had an awesome waitress: Mariela! So very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable! We all tried different dishes: pot roast, chicken piccata, beef Wellington, and shrimp. We tried the scallops appetizer. Without a doubt, everything was well cooked and delicious! Service was prompt, but not pushy. We will definitely keep this place on our go to list! read more

Came home for a visit and Rivers Edge is open. I could not believe what they had done with the old Mrs.T's. The decor is amazing and they even pay tribute with an old Mrs. T's jacket on display. Jacquie was our waitress and she was helpful in making sure our dining experience was memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful. Change is hard in small towns but I sure did enjoy it and I am glad the owners took the chance here. read more

All the food was delicious! With the place being completely packed with people, the service was still pretty good and the workers were all very nice. After we got done eating dinner we walked outside and checked out the outdoor eating area (not pictured) and that looks really cool! Next time we go we definitely want to eat outside on a nice day. You have to get the chocolate cake but next time I have to try the skillet cookie for dessert! Great little spot! read more

Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the chicken piccata. It was so good. My husband had the stuffed shells. We shared the lemon cake. We have already had friends try the restaurant after our visit. Love this place. We will definitely be returning. read more

Service was the best part of our visit. Waitress was friendly and everybody helped when we needed them. We started with fried calamari and it was great. I got the lobster bisque (some spots cold) and the beef Wellington with pesto gnocchi and spinach. Wellington wasn't evenly cooked with some cold and warm spots. Gnocchi was thick and gummy (first time eating it, so maybe that's normal?). Spinach was ok maybe just something I didn't like . My fiancé had the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels. Salmon nailed it. Mashed potatoes were cold in spots. Brussels tasted burnt--roasted is one thing, but these were bitter. Staff was great and hopefully they can be more consistent food temps. read more

Sunday afternoon and beautiful weather to sit outside. Good service, good food, gorgeous building! Someone put a lot of $$$$$ into this place. The four of us each had different sliders and all were very good. Big tip for the waitress that had to climb those stairs a hundred and ten times that day. Locals keep this place in business!! We loved the atmosphere, sat outside on the river imagining what we'd turn the really cool old building across the street into. We had bruschetta, firecracker shrimp, crabby bites, meatball burrata, and the best damn Brussels sprouts I've ever had. Everything we ate was amazing. Service was very slow!!! My husband and I ate at this restaurant for the first time for a date night. We were seated right away, but waited 15-20 minutes until the waitress took our drink order. The water was terrible and tasted like chlorine. Three tables of six people and two tables of two people walked out while we were there. One waitress waiting tables and she was very frustrated to the point of tears. It took over 30 minutes to place our appetizer and food order. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer. My husband ordered steak medallions and I ordered Chicken Parmesan. The Chicken Parmesan came out with the appetizer and my husband's food came out 10 minutes later. The steak was cooked well and not to the desired medium/well. We paid $2 extra for a horseradish crust on the steak that was not really crusted. The mashed potatoes tasted like paste (tasted like instant potatoes). The crostini bread for the bruschetta was soggy. The Chicken Parmesan was very good. Our bill was expensive, especially for not having any bread, side salad, or soup included in the cost of the meal. Strange that a baked potato was not an option to pair with the steak. There were not any plates for the appetizer or a steak knife for my husband's steak. The waitress asked us to review our bill to make sure it was correct. She was beyond frustrated and was crying. While the ambiance was nice, the food and service was not desirable and we will not be returning for another meal at this restaurant. There are a lot of improvements that need to be made to make this restaurant a success. read more

I can here with my family of four for Father's Day, we weren't greeted when walking in and we given a waitress who didn't listen to us when we were asking questions. It was so bad we got a new waitress and she was better. We had 2 things of the cheese burger sliders, hot honey chicken sliders, and chicken pasó. It was ~$85 !! This horrible for what we got, we had to go home and eat something too! The food was blander then salt on chicken breast. I don't know how they survive on such a small menu ( if you don't like chicken with red sauce or seafood with pasta sauce you're out of luck) The ambiance was too fancy for such a small town. It's like some city folk tried to bring the city to a nowhere town. Truthfully the only reason this place will even survive is because they have a pub in the basement. read more

Went on a Thursday afternoon with my family. I got the steak and shrimp skillet which was excellent and well proportioned. We got the French press coffee, which was high quality and we shared the bread pudding. None of the family had any complaints about the food service or quality. It's definitely a new place for us all to go and enjoy some higher level food. The only downside is that I did not see a handicap ecessable entrance, though there is a ground floor patio that allows dogs. read more

Nice place but a little loud when they are busy. Service was quick, waitress was friendly. Food arrived fairly quickly. Food was good but I felt my salmon was borderline over cooked. It was supposed to be an orange glaze but tasted more of a bbq taste. Mashed potatoes were awesome. Veggies were a bit bland for me. Needed some flavor. Also had squash which I don't care for. We ordered the pizza bite appetizer's. They came on bread that was not toasted. They were on uncooked Italian bread. They were soggy and this made them not very good. Would be better to be served on toasted bread. I ordered a ribeye steak, first weird thing, it comes with mashed potatoes and gravy ? Who eats a steak with this option. Asked for a side salad, waitress said they don't have a side salad , only a large salad which I believe was $14. My option was Brussels sprouts or carrots. Received our order. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. We were never asked if we would like water. My steak was disgusting, it smelled weird and tasted awful. I did not eat any of it after my first bite. Waitress never asked if we would like refills on our drinks. Children had Dino nuggets and fries. They were so over cooked kids would not eat them. When we were done eating, we had to wait quite awhile for our waitress to return, kids meals come with ice cream. Asked for vanilla, waitress never said anything about chocolate sauce on top. Grandson does not like chocolate, had to scape it off, which he was not happy about. Bill was $200. Very expensive. Bad service. Bad food. We will not be going back. read more
