Had an excellent Easter brunch today at Hanks Farm

The food was fantastic. It was fresh. The servers were wonderful. It was a great experience.

Very nicely appointed restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is nicely decorated as it name suggests as a large farmhouse. We came for the fried chicken which we had read about in an Illinois travel magazine. I ordered the two piece Light Chicken served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Our waitress said that the special included the items I ordered plus came with stuffing, a side of spaghetti and the salad bar for the same price. Do why wouldn't you? My wife ordered the four piece mixed chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. The salad bar was quite extensive and included a nice selection of breads. My chicken looked wonderful as did the sides. I scarfed down the wing (my favorite part). It was wonderful. Exactly as described in the magazine. The sides were also flavorful. The breast looked great, the skin was very crispy and tasty. The meat, however, was very dry like it cooked too long. Finally the spaghetti and meat sauce left me happy again. My wife loved her meal immensely. We would probably give it another try if we were in the Ottawa area again.

Norma was our waitress on October 4, 2023 and her service was spectacular! My dad recently passed away and he used to love taking us to Hank's. We were paying homage to dad who used to love getting the jumbo shrimp, salad bar and Bud Light of course. We do miss him taking us here and we will continue to go here. I got the broiled salmon with a side of whipped mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy. I also love their house sparkling wine because they service a fresh orange wedge on the rim. It actually changes the taste with the citrus fragrance and feels a bit elegant. My brother and I also order the mozzarella sticks with a side of marinara or ranch every time we are here. We are sad to learn that the cute little Curious Goods store is closing at the end of this month. It's is such a delightful little store packed with Halloween costumes and we will miss it. If you want a nice meal with great servers come to Hank's. They also have a Sunday bottomless brunch that our server says is to die for.

My family and I frequent Ottawa often and always pass Hank's and always say we want to stop here and eat. We finally decided to take the 45 min drive just to eat dinner here. The grounds and building are so charming and continues into the inside of the building as well. The interior of Hank's is homey and comforting, they have a small gift shop in the area where you check in that kind of reminds me of Cracker Barrel. One thing I immediately noticed about Hank's is that the staff is on top of their game and friendly. Our waiter, Chris was phenomenal and super funny. Other staff members would come around and take plates/glasses. You can tell everyone works together here to keep the ball rolling. They have an impressive salad bar as well which comes with every entree! I haven't been to a restaurant that offers a salad bar in years, so this was a nice touch. My party ordered a few drinks (maple old fashions and I tried the mixed berry mule) and the brussel sprout appetizer which was great. I loved the sweet chili sauce and Parmesan slices on top. For entrees we ordered the ribeye which was cooked perfectly to my desired doneness with a side of onions (more like a mountain of onions). We also ordered the chicken vesuvio which fell off the bone, and the oink and peep - the ribs and chicken were awesome, but we weren't crazy about the spaghetti side (we are picky because we're Italian lol) Hank's does not skimp on portions or sides, I couldn't believe how much garlic bread they gave us. Overall, Hank's is a great family restaurant. There's something here for everyone

Hello, Do you have outdoor seating?

    Not as yet, no

Surcharge if you pay with a credit card?

    Yes

    How is the parking?

In my experience, parking availability is best when arriving just after 4 and from 8 to closing at 9. At other times, you can USUALLY find a parking space SOMEWHERE, but I once arrived when it was packed solid. I believe peak hours are between 5…

I was hoping for fresh wrapped in rice paper but they were deep fried. Not my favorite. For the next week got the tuna takati. Now that was so good !! Nice amounts of seafood and you can really taste it all, it isn't overpowered at all like some I have had in the past. Totally one I would order again. Shea was our waitress and did a great job. We started with the soft shell crab appetizer which was a bit underwhelming. It was tempura battered but it contained just two pieces of crab, two onions and two pieces of broccoli. I would not get this again as I thought there would be more crab. The tuna tataki appetizer made up for it. The pieces are generous, covered in sesame seeds and melted in your mouth. The dipping sauce was a great addition. We also shared an MJ roll which was wrapped in soy paper and had tempura shrimp, yellowtail, jalapeño and cucumber. It was quite good. We also had a dragon roll which my husband really enjoyed. It had shrimp tempura, BBQ eel, avocado, cucumber and eel sauce. My aunt ordered avocado salad and added chicken. It had generous pieces of cut chicken on top and was a nice looking salad. My husband also enjoyed the gyoza which were six large potstickers filled with chicken. They serve wine and beer, plus have a small selection of sake. They were sold out of all sake except Gekkeikan sake, which we tried cold. The waitress made a little mistake at the end with the bill and credit card payments, which she credited and redid. We paid cash for one meal and card for the rest but the cash item was accidentally added to the total bill and credit card. It was corrected and all was fine. We loved the food and atmosphere and would definitely come back.

The restaurant as very clean and the staff were very friendly but the food will be the reason I return if I'm ever back in the area again. The menu is very diverse. It has just about everything on it. I had not had a hot meal that didn't come out of a box and a microwave for a few days. I ordered the chicken tenders. It came with fries and soup. You could choose from French Onion or Chicken & Rice. I chose the chicken & rice. I should've just ordered the soup because the chicken & rice hit the spot. It tasted homemade and it was hot on a VERY cold day. I hadn't ordered chicken tenders in awhile because they are so common and rather blah. These were different though. They were battered in something that was like tempura. They were excellent. My only complaint is that I had too much food and couldn't eat them all. I've also gotten to where fries don't excite me any more. They are often bland. While these were incredible, they weren't bland and were very good. I paid with cash which knocked 3.5% off my bill, so get some cash before you go. The cost was reasonable as well. In total, my meal was just under $14. This was a great meal! Highly recommend!

Started off with some great draft beers $5 for a Yungling pint and an $18 bourbon flight that my husband raved about. After a bit of a wait but with drinks !! We got a table and since we had looked at the menu at the bar we were ready to order. (You could order food at the bar too we just chose not to as we were in no rush) We got a loaf of fresh bread that came with olive oil for dipping that had some chili flakes in it that gave it a bit of a zing. (My only thing is that it would have been nice to have some Parmesan to shake into it to give it a bit of body beyond just oil). But all in all it was yummy. Onto our main courses. I got the shrimp and calamari Diablo. And yes. It's hot. Spicy and also temperature from the kitchen. But the flavor was amazing and it was full of calamari rings and the little tentacles and some really good sized shrimps too and the linguini was so good. The sauce you could tell was fresh and full of tomato chunks. The husband got chicken shrimp and sausage carbonara. Again full of flavor and meat and peas and delicious pasta. Oh and dessert was two home made cannoli with the pistachios on the ends and the best not too sweet cream inside. For our two meals and two glasses of house red blend ($5 each) it was 80.00. It was plenty of food to make two fat kids very happy. The servers were very nice. The bartenders were friendly as they were super hopping. All in all we will Be back to try more dishes as they all looked great coming out of the kitchen. This is a great date night spot and something new and different than your normal burger, pizza or bar food kinda place. Try it. You will want to come back !!!
