I will start off by admitting I only came here for a take-out slopper to check off my bucket list, but why would I deduct a star? I was greeted promptly and the bartender was very friendly the whole time, asked me if I wanted anything to drink while I waited. Definitely a place for locals, the kind of place I'd be seen at if I lived in Pueblo. Pool table, spacious room to the side. Not quite a dive, but not a fancy bar. It's a roadhouse. I love roadhouses. On to the food. I don't know if this is the best slopper in Pueblo, but it sure hit the spot. The burgers were meaty, slobbered with plentiful chili and cheese. A corner of lettuce and tomato satisfied my salad need, and they even sprinkled onions on top (I had asked if those were traditional or not... I'll take it!). This hole in the wall place is really good! We ordered the nacho supreme, why am I getting a text from the night special which was chicken fried steak, and the chicken quesadilla. All three of these were excellent. We left feeling really full and even have leftovers. The environment was very relaxing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. First of all I travel all over the country. When you travel as much as I do you just hope to find somewhere like the Riverside. Places like this are very few and far between trust me. The food is very good bar food I was introduced to the slopper and green chili. I highly recommend this. It apparently is a thing in Pueblo. In my opinion it would be hard to beat the Riverside's. Prices are always on most of our minds as we go out and try to enjoy ourselves especially on weekends. The Riverside has very good prices on food and drinks compared to most of the places I go as I travel. Friday nights is karaoke night and the locals show up and it's about having a good time and they do. Saturday nights they have bands that are very good The best part about the Riverside Bar and grill though are Hanna, Carli , Steven , Teigen and the ones that work the kitchen. They are the best bartenders and cooks you could ask for. The locals that are there welcomed me and after just a few trips knew me by name and treated me as one of them. Dropped in yesterday for a lunch time beer and Pueblo Slopper...will certainly be back when passing through Pueblo again. Don't get dressed up to go to the Riverside, but do go! It's a warm and friendly place specializing in Classic Rock and Classic Country. Pool tables in back and the restaurant/bar up front. Good bar menu -- we had their well-known "slopper," which is a hamburger smothered in green chile. Sloppers are a Pueblo favorite for which different establishments compete to serve the best. These guys are certainly in the running! (Plenty of other hamburgers, too, plus Mexican food and other goodies.) Great fun and great music was had on the eve of New Year's Eve, served up by the local band "What The." My wife dragged me out to try the Riverside; then she had to drag me out. read more

Don't go on karaoke night. Just don't. It's mind numbingly painful to the point of wanting to rip your ears out and save them for something worthwhile, like the sounds of chalk boards or a whiny child. I have zero clue why people continue to perform in front of others thinking it's a good idea. Listen to me locals, just stop. Nobody wants to hear it. Management, take this as an advisement, I would have spent a ton more cash if it weren't for people performing like imbeciles. Side note, get some new gd carpet and fix your bar stools. This place has great food. The service is terrible, waitress/ bartender was very rude. Let our meal set until food barely warm, took so long hated to send it back. Other patrons even commented on how long it sat there. No napkins, no ketchup and then left before giving us the bill. We won't be back although the burgers are great. read more

Came here to try out the slopper. When first looking at the building you see that it is a "Hole in The Wall" but parking was easy and very easy to locate. Upon walking in I was not greeted and not sure if I could self seat or I needed to wait to be seated. So we took it upon to seat our self. Sat for about 5 minutes before getting up and going to the bar for a menu. After getting a menu we got greeted. Waiter was nice and apologized and got our drinks to us right away. We ordered our food, it arrived pretty fast maybe 10 min wait. The green chili was great the burger for the slopper was very well seasoned. Enjoyed the meal it's was great. We went on a Friday night (karaoke night) and the man who was working karaoke was hammered and taking forever, we had to leave so we asked him if we pay a fee if there was any way he could squeeze a song we requested in and he told us "yeah no problem" so we walk away & never get told anything again for a while so I walk up & kindly ask him for the song again telling him we had to leave and he proceeds to say "sorry honey I wanna leave too so tough luck figure it out" My mother proceeds to go up and ask for the money that we paid back and he takes the tip jar off the table and calls security, my mother was not rude, just simply wanted the money back after she was scammed into giving it. The security guard gives the $10 back and proceeds to follow her back to where we were sitting (my father is out of town mind you) and tells her that she needs to "shut the fuck up because her opinion doesn't matter and that he paid her off $10 to shut her fucking mouth" everyone around us was appalled that this man spoke to a woman in such a way over $10. Even the cook was trying to appologize. He used vulgar language & awful name calling in front of me & many of my friends who all said they would never return there.... security guard looks like Santa, but definitely doesnt act like it! read more

I love the Riverside! I was in Pueblo for a doctor's appointment and the nurse suggested the Riverside for the best slopper (an open-faced cheeseburger smothered in green chili). It turned out to be the best slopper I've had in many years. The chili is hot, the patty hand-formed, and the fries crisp and not frozen. Riverside is one of my go to places for lunch, or to split a pitcher after work. They have good green chili which means they have good slopers. My favorite thing is when i go to a bar, order a couple rounds, and the bartender asks if I'm going to be able to afford it. I can, so please don't ask unnecessary questions about my financial status. I can afford six beers. The food is great! The problem is getting waited on. My husband and I went there on a Friday night early and never got waited on so we left. My friends wanted to go there on a Saturday night so when we sat down I started my timer to see how long it would take to get service and a very nice young man was there immediately! Really good laid-back bar with very decent food. The green chile is excellent. The menu is pretty standard for around the area & for being a bar, but prepared well. The bartenders are really friendly & attentive, especially Eddie & Shannon. The kitchen staff are all really cool (& good cooks, which is what matters). The place is also clean, including the bathrooms. There's a pool table, a jukebox, and 6 or 7 TVs, so there's plenty of entertainment. They also have live bands on the weekends, as well as karaoke and open mic nights during the week. The clientele & regulars are generally very friendly & open to new people. Prices are about average & they have happy hour on weekdays. I'm new to the area, but this is definitely my favorite Pueblo bar so far. It's a comfortable & fun spot. read more

Our first visit and first impression: Service was terrible. If you're not a regular, you're invisible. Bartenders are toxic & rude. They're selective about their service. Even if you've paid for the music, if they don't like it, they will turn it down. Food requires an individual to be drunk to eat it. This is one of those places that you love and hate. The food is delicious and the beer is cold. The atmosphere is decent. That's where the accolades end. The service is horrendous. Especially if the older blonde waitress is working. She is so bad it's maddening. For example, we ordered, was served and with an empty pitcher of beer this woman clocked out and left without letting us know she was leaving. To make matters even worse and even more troubling for this business is the woman I assume is the owner. She doesn't seem to care about customer service. She even looked at the empty pitcher situation and proceeded to completely ignore the fact that we were in need of service. Despicable! My boyfriend who is a Law enforcement officer and I decided to go get a bite to eat and unfortunately made a HUGE mistake by going into this establishment.... He has been in there several times Because he liked the bands and the food. Unfortunately Their bartender who is a Middle aged mean rude lady Proceeded to be extremely rude with my boyfriend and make RUDE gestures about him to their clientele who was sitting at the bar. I watched this in shock and asked my boyfriend if we could please leave because I did not want him giving his money to this place and be treated so Rudely! They need to go to their cameras and check how rude she is. I would never recommend this place and I would definitely discourage people from going to this establishment as long as this bartender was there!
