My husband and I came here for dinner and honestly a 4.7 rating is perfect. We came here in part because they claim to be the best green chili in Colorado. So of course I was excited. Pros: Walking in the hostess was helping another couple but did acknowledge us. She went to sit the couple and another staff apologized and said that she will be right with us. We were sat outside and immediately were given water. Our waiter, who I can't remember his name, talked to us and took our drink order. My husband ordered a beer and me an iced tea. He gave us a few minutes before coming back to take our order. We started with the green chili fries and when they came out they were very good. I do wish there was a little bit of spice to it, but not a con. I even ordered a cup of green chili with my shrimp tacos. And my husband ordered the slopper. I loved the shrimp tacos, that I got the lettuce instead of a tortilla. I would highly order and recommend. Husband loved the slipper. He said if you don't see the fries or bun, assume your eating it all. Our waiter is very knowledgeable and was quick with his recommendations. He answered a burger question when asked and took his time with us. We did not feel rushed. My husband also ordered a beer flight and found some he enjoyed. All the staff worked together and matched our personality. Well, my husband's personality. We ended up ordering 3 cups if green chili with their chips. The salsa had a nice kick, mild kick, because they added green chilis to it. It tasted home made. When we had a minor issue with the bill, our waiter took charge and without hesitation took to fix it. We of course had to order dessert. Our waiter came back within minutes to inform some of the desserts were sold out but offered a replacement. I got the peach pie and my husband got the chocolate cake. The peach pie was a perfect mini size Cons: My husband was surprised the manager wasn't walking around ensuring everything ran smoothly. I honestly don't see it as a con. Also, the parking lot is small and when it gets busy I can see walking from another block over. There are 3 spots for the hotel and 4 spots that are a 2 hour limit. Recommended? Absolutely yes. Great food and excellent staff. Everyone here is friendly and seems excited to help the customers. We will definitely be back. We stopped by Bye's Ale House hoping for their green chili, only to find it wasn't on the brunch menu. Since we hadn't been here in five years, I mentioned to our waiter how much I was craving a bowl, and he went out of his way to make it happen. That level of service alone made the visit memorable. I also ordered the Velvet Smoke mezcal cocktail, and wow, it was exceptional. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and not too strong. The smoky notes were present but not overpowering, and the nixta slate liqueurs, or heat and bitters brought everything together beautifully. Stopped in over the weekend with our dog and loved it. Located on the Arkansas Riverwalk, it's perfect for people-watching if you can snag an outdoor seat. Housed in the old police station, they kept some jail-era decor on display -- very cool touch. Solid beer selection (their Leadhead IPA was excellent). Food is outstanding -- highly recommend their Sunday brunch (10-2). The Musso Bruch Burger came highly recommended and didn't disappoint: double smash patties pressed thin, cheddar, local chiles, and a fried egg -- super messy but totally worth it. Stopped in here as we were passing through Pueblo on the freeway. It was well worth the stop. The location is gorgeous on the Arkansas River and the ambience inside is quite nifty. I particularly enjoyed the restricted gates down by the washrooms. Our server was friendly and attentive but the restaurant seemed slightly short staffed. A great selection of beers. Our food was very good. I was surprised at how salty the bun was on my veggie burger sandwich but it was still salty in a good way. The food took longer than average to come out, and that's the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars. We waited over 30 minutes for the food, and it didn't seem particularly busy, though the server seemed to be covering a lot of acreage with tables both inside and outside under her responsibility. Excellent pit stop in Pueblo before driving home! Service was wonderful and the Vineyard Odyssey Salad I ordered had the perfect ratio of ingredients to dressing. With mixed greens, red onion, cucumber, bell pepper, blue cheese, strawberries, heirloom cherry tomatoes, candied pecans, berry vinaigrette, and balsamic reduction - how could you not enjoy? I didn't add protein to my salad this time, but chicken sounds like it could go well. It was my second time in Pueblo (first time was on the drive down) and I enjoyed both quick visits. Popped in for a quick lunch while on a road trip. They are located in a historic building that used to be the jail. It is right on the river walk with plenty of outdoor seating to take advantage of the lovely Colorado weather. The holiday decorations were really nice. Someone had taken the time to wrap twinkle lights around the air ducts and beams throughout the restaurant. It was a lovely sight. Our server answered all our questions and we put in our beverage orders. I love a good dark beer and their Kellerbier really hit it. My husband had the Haus Lager, a helles. We both enjoyed our beers. They were spot on to style. I ordered the Brawtzel. It consisted of a veal brat with a garnish of sauerkraut, Vienna mustard, a pretzel and pueblo chile cheese sauce. Everything was tasty and paired well with my beer. My husband was going to get a BLT, but upon asking, found the bread for that sandwich is not toasted. It was a cold day and he wanted something warm so he got a grilled cheese and chips, which hit the spot for him. It was a chilly, windy day. Where does one go after an early morning of work and then a long day of travel??? An alehouse of course, even though I don't drink. This place once was a jail, and they pay respect to the past with some of the decor. They have a stage for live music and fantastic service. Jenny was my waitress, and even with how busy she was, I was her third table in 5 minutes since I didn't want to sit at the bar. This place has burgers, sandwiches, and salads to choose from. I was all set to be a good boy and have a salad until Jenny told me the night specials......So, I had stuffed dates wrapped in pork shoulder for an appetizer. Then I had the toungetwister Philly, not the real name, but it sounded like a toungetwister. All I can say about tonight's dinner is....WOW!!!! It was so good that I was a little sad when it was gone. If you do enjoy a pint, this place is a local brewery, and the other patrons appeared to be enjoying the drafts. We were on the clean covered brick patio on a hot day with my cousin's dog. They walked her along the river, a favorite place for her and our waiter brought her water, how thoughtful! We ordered the house specialty burgers- choice of single or double patties, I forgot the name but they were cooked to order, opened face and covered with tomatoes, lettuce cheese and mild chilis. The teriyaki bowl was excellent after we had them bring more teriyaki (which was an extra an charge) I do not like teriyaki I could not taste that.. NOTE: to cooks add more Teriyaki for tje teriyaki bowl even the server says that happens all the time... NOW: on to the main event the slopper burger OMG burgers topped with green chili see menu for description (Pic below) and the picture of the sandwich... looks like POOO what taste GREAT!! To bad someone tries being greedy because the no on the change, 45 minute wait for chicken made and an up charge for sauce because the dish was not made correctly. The burgers here are fantastic, the fries are less than desirable. The fries doc the point along with the homemade ketchup. All I can taste is malt vinegar. I think the idea is good, but I think it's too heavy with the vinegar. The fries were soggy and greasy. At a brew house I would expect some delicious hot crispy fries. It feels like they fried them in oil that wasn't hot enough. Not a pleasant eating experience. The Hazy IPA I had was DELICIOUS not sure if it's local or not, but it was very crisp and fruity. Overall it's a good place but be prepared to spend some money. I think if they dropped the price by a dollar or two of the burgers it's would be a bit more worth it. This was my first time dining at Brues, after stopping in for drinks a few times and it was a great experience. We came in on a night when a concert was going on and was told there was only one table available, as the rest were reserved or we'd need to sit outside. The table we got was a bit cramped and small, but we made it work for the four of us. Our group ordered drinks and I asked for a mocktail. The waitress said she'd talk to the bar about what mocktails they had and when she came back with our drink order she gave me a mocktail. I'm not sure what it was, but it had a ginger taste and was pretty good! I'd say the only downfall was not getting to pick or knowing what I was drinking lol. We ordered 2 rounds of pretzels and the shishito peppers for apps. High points for us were the dipping sauces, the green chili queso (pretzels) and the homemade ranch (peppers). I ordered the steak salad, it was fresh and yummy! I loved the creamy goat cheese and the balsamic dressing. Our group ordered burgers and the dip sandwich, everyone was happy with their food and the portions. No complaints! Everything came out pretty fast too. We had our eye on the cheesecake for dessert, but they sold out so we settled for the macarons. Group faves were the pumpkin and gingerbread. When we interrupt a staff member to ask about a table, they said 20 minutes. 40 minutes later my group is hangers, still waiting outside watching empty tables collect dust. The beer was average. Based on the wait time, we were very skeptical about how lone it would take to get food. We finally gave up and left. I came here with a group of coworkers for a weeknight dinner and gathering. We had the back room to ourselves, which was spacious and equipped with TVs and high ceilings. We started with hummus and veggies for the group and then ordered various dishes for dinner. The drinks were great, and everyone seemed to enjoy the place. Interestingly, this restaurant used to be a county jail, and it still has some decor to reflect that history. Perfect spot on the river walk for some good food and drink! Staff was attentive and service was spot on. Sat outside on a sunny day and the server's know nearly every person and animal passing by... Got the Brawtzel which was a smaller sized warm pretzel along with a veal brat and sauerkraut along with 2 dipping sauces. The pueblo chili sauce was great but the vienna mustard was less memorable. Super good food. We always come here especially when it's not so nice out. Right on the Riverwalk. They've got a heated patio and are dog friendly too! In the old Pueblo jail. The inside vibes reflect this with barred doors. Kinda cool. The service is always spot on. Had the prime rib dip with the extra chili and onions.
