Chicken and waffles with a glass of pineapple juice
G C.

So the place itself was clean and fancy. To enter it was a little sketchy with the door locks but wasn't a deterrent. The service was good and very professional. And the food was very tasty. I went for breakfast and got the chicken and waffles and a glass of pineapple juice. Came with the side of butter and syrup as well. The reason I gave it 4 stars was cause it was pricier than what it should've been. $18 bucks for the meal and $4 for maybe 6oz of pineapple juice. That's ridiculous.

The bar staff was great -- friendly, efficient, and made some solid drinks to kick things off. From there, the service throughout the evening stayed consistently excellent. Our server was incredibly attentive; drinks were refilled before they ever got close to empty, and we never had to ask for anything twice. The complimentary bread and dipping oil were a highlight -- warm, fresh, and flavorful enough to feel like a thoughtful start to the meal. I ordered the 12 oz fillet rare, and while the flavor was excellent, it did come out noticeably overcooked. I decided not to send it back because it still tasted good, but it wasn't what I ordered, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still very positive. With great service and solid food (even if a little off the mark), I'd definitely come back -- just maybe with a little more emphasis on how I want my steak cooked.

I would like to first state that I took a risk coming here. I am in town for business and I'm a long-time steak aficionado and can grill a very mean steak at home. My rule of thumb is that it has to taste as good as or better than mine. The problem lies that you have to try before you know. My 14 oz. Wagyu ribeye was better than I could do. It was cooked and seasoned absolutely to perfection. My hat is off to the chef. Thank you and a job very well done, unlike my steak. I should also mention that the restaurant manager, Toni, has vast amounts of experience in wine selection. I indicated to her my taste preference and she brought out 2 selections that nailed my preferred profile. So even if you're looking for a good place to have a few glasses of wine, you won't be disappointed here.

We found this place based on a local recommendation. It's right in the heart of the downtown Riverwalk restaurant area and stands out as a fancier steakhouse compared to its neighbors. The interior blends modern decor with classic steakhouse charm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. They offer an extensive cocktail list, and our waitress was very knowledgeable about. the options. To start, I ordered the calamari, artichoke dip, and shishito peppers. All were excellent, with the shishito peppers being my favorite. For the main course, I had the ribeye, and it was cooked exactly to my liking. Overall, the ambiance and service were top-notch. I can see why this place is a go-to for locals celebrating special occasions.

Delicious breakfast! Ordered the quinoa power bowl. Great prices and wide selection to choose from. We also got the special which was also delicious(pork schnitzel). Our server Will was the sweetest and such friendly staff. Makes you feel right at home. They make a great espresso martini!

3.5 stars. The ambience is a mix of casual/business. The tables are a little closer than I would like. I think we had more expectations from them than what we got. The one thing that was good, was the drinks. We started with the Ranch Water and the Lychee Collins which were both well-created drinks. Not too boozy. I would've liked some more. For the appetizers, we wanted the hummus but they said they'd stopped making that. So we got the calamari instead. The calamari surprised me because it didn't come in the little rings that I'm normally used to. Instead, they were thick, slightly unappetizing slices. The sauce of the calamari was creamy, slightly eggy and pretty good. The bread that came with it was simply delicious. The salsa on the side had a lot of flavor and some spicy which we enjoyed. I just wish the calamari had been smaller and more fried...the thick slices became soggy with the sauce. For the entree, I got the lobster Tortelli and my friend got the Flight of Fillet. The lobster was not good. I'd expected a slightly thicker sauce with soft tortellini stuffed with lobster. Instead, I got a thin watery soup (that they labelled as bisque on the take home cup) with half-cooked tortellini. There was some lobster in the pasta but the watery soup kind of took over all the taste. The lobster by itself was just ok. There were a few pieces of prosciutto which was fine. I was just very disappointed by this dish. The flight of Fillet was a batch of 3 tiny fillets with a different sauce on each - green coulis, blue cheese and a 21 steak sauce. The green coulis was the best and the blue cheese wasn't that great. The in-house sauce was pretty decent. The fillet itself was cooked the way my friend wanted. The side of veggies was delicious, especially the potatoes. It came with the creamed corn, which was sweet. This came as a surprise because the server specifically told us there is a spicy kick in there and we say, the spicier the better. So when I got corn dumped in sweet creamy sauce with a few pieces of Pueblo chilies, I was disappointed. I still finished the corn because sweet or spicy, I'm going to eat it because it's corn. We wanted a dessert that they said they did not have. So we got the tres leches. It was a decent sized piece but quite firm. I like my tres leches to melt in my mouth and I had to bite this one. Decently sweet and nice to look at but not as good as the ones I've had. And that ended the dinner - more of a could've-been. We spent $60-70 per person and I can say that the food was definitely not worth that price. Also, if you don't have something on the menu any more, take it off the menu!

Date night! We had a mid-winter slump date night. Hubby made a 7:00 reservation and on a Friday night. We stopped for a cocktail at The Clink beforehand and strolled over. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server, Dillon, came and asked about cocktails. He suggested we settle in and enjoy without rushing. I had the black martini and my husband did the bartender's choice, which was a yummy tequila old fashioned. Being encouraged to take our time was just what we needed. We slowly perused the menu and settled on the calamari appetizer. I ordered the Pueblo Clam Chowder (oh my absolute goodness!!!!), and the halibut. Husband ordered the wedge salad (can you say candied bacon?), 18 oz ribeye, and we shared sweet potato gratin. Dillon asked if I wanted another cocktail and I mentioned I wanted wine with dinner. He sent Toni over for suggestions. She was amazing and suggested both a white and a red. We got a bottle of red to share. The food came and was all delicious. I didn't have high hopes for the potatoes, and was very pleasantly surprised. The fish was good but the accompaniments were great! My husband's steak was cooked perfectly. We were too full for dessert but the menu looked great! There was live music by Christian (??) and he did great. He was entertaining and had good musical ability! We requested a song that was our first song at our wedding and he was stoked to play it. It was a truly memorable date.

Part of this steak was medium rare. Potato coquettes were awesome though.

Solid, likely one of the better places to eat in the area. No complaints from the food to the staff. Inside area is rather nice.

As expected, maneuver around the location and parking were problematic. Because of that, and the cold weather, we came early, arriving about 4:40. While we were willing to wait elsewhere, the proprietors seated us immediately while we waited for our other two parties to arrive. Big props for being accommodating. The food was top notch and the menu ranging from commonplace to exotic. Every dish had an element of gourmet treatment. All the entrees we ordered were excellent. The venue is small. I wouldn't say 'intimate', given that it has large windows facing the street, but it was cozy enough on a cold night. OUr server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the quality and creativity of the menu. We didn't order wine, but instead Italian beers in a brand I'd not heard of, allowing us to try something other than the usual two brands commonly available.

Service was outstanding, it felt like a choreography with how well our server took care of us. The space itself is part restaurant, part bar, with that odd almost-purple lighting that every spot for locals seems to emit. It's a bit noisy inside as a result, but it is what it is I suppose. The burrata starter was delicious. The burrata itself was so fresh, and the accoutrement were similarly tasty. For mains, the insalata with octopus and shrimp was really good, packed with seafood and balanced with citrus from a light dressing. The ravioli pueblo was interesting. The chile in the sauce was a really nice touch, adding some interesting spice to the dish. The sauce itself was very thick, the heaviness took away from the dish a tiny bit. But all in all, a great sit down meal in Pueblo!

The restaurant has a cozy, homey feel with sea-themed décor -- things like fishing nets, crab cages, and other nautical touches that make it feel like a neighborhood seafood spot. We started with their signature crab cake, which was thin, nicely cooked, and drizzled with a flavorful bistro sauce. For our main dish we had the daily fish special, a flaky grilled fish that was lightly seasoned and served with well-cooked vegetables and risoni pasta. The green beans were especially memorable -- perfectly crispy, which reminded me how much I love them prepared that way. The staff was friendly and helpful, even recommending the $8 wine special, which was a great value. It's hand-sliced thin, topped with sauerkraut and melted swiss, slathered with thousand island dressing and served on toasted rye. Very good rendition of this knife & fork sandwich. Discovering new wines, great breads and charcuterie - with an atmosphere that gave the impression of Italian getaway, the Upstairs Wine Bar was, in a word, "special." Sitting by the warm fire, with classical music or Spanish Guitar filling the air, it was easy to see the owner's vision and it was well-executed. But that was before. This is now (our last three visits over the past 2 months): Loud club music banging. The hearth has gone cold. Missing art work draws attention to empty wall space. But these regressions are downright innocent compared to the service. I have only experienced a single individual working as a server during the past few visits, with another individual working behind the counter. Neither possesses any knowledge of the menu and (our server in particular) had clearly never been trained in wine service or service in general. No pours, just slaps the bottle down with two glasses and asks if we want anything else. But I need to backtrack, we first ask him about the wines, he can't answer a single question, to the point that we aren't even certain he's looked at the menu or even tasted the offerings. His manner is loose and unprofessional, brazen. He is dressed like The Crow, with his belly exposed, ready for a rave. This was consistent during all our visits. However, let me be clear, I don't care how anyone dresses in public, period. I don't care what gender you are or what gender you are attracted to. I don't judge unless I'm paying and wine service commands some degree of formality or at least basic etiquette, education of the menu notwithstanding. These qualities weren't discernable at the most basic level and did not improve with subsequent visits. However, there is one piece of knowledge our server was able to render: the lack of availability for many menu items, which would be the theme over our most recent visits. When we finally receive the meat and cheese plate, the prosciutto has been butchered and carved off in thick strips. We made it clear we DID NOT want one particular meat, which - of course - was one of the three on the plate, as the server either had no idea which one was which or simply forgot in the few seconds it took walk from our table to the kitchen. Finally, only ONE cheese was available of the 3 options, and this supply issue was given no explanation, but remained a problem during for our last three visits. Just to be transparent, it's about $100 for the two of us to enjoy a bottle of wine and small plate, so it's not exactly cheap - but this was a small price to pay for the atmosphere that has long since evaporated. What's replaced it has no business calling itself a wine bar. Sadly, we won't be returning - at least for some time - with the hopes that it can regain its standards. We eagerly await that reunion!
