This is a great chocolate shop. Their stuff is delicious. You have to try their chocolate dipped ice cream cones. YUM!! My only complaint is the outside seating area. It badly needs to be updated to be more inviting to guests who do get ice cream, and eat it there. The outdoor rusted furniture needs to go, and new stuff be brought in. read more

Wonderful chocolate and ice cream place. Very old fashioned, but genuinely so, no simply retro. The ice cream was awesome. My only complaint was I got a cone with dark chocolate and the chocolate around the top was so hard you needed pliers to break it up.. How have i never been here before? The ice cream is from Madison and doesn't lack at all. Smooth and creamy and tastes exactly like the description. I recommend Exhausted Parent. Very good chocolate and they're open late! Their chocolate covered macaroons are the best. The macaroon is coco-nutty with a soft center and covered almost entirely with chocolate. They leave just enough of the macaroon uncovered for you to hold without getting chocolate all over your fingers. The chocolate covered strawberries are good too! This place is a fat mans dream!! The chocolate double fudge was so succulent!! Now, the cookies and cream fudge is truly orgasmic! Literally, it took my breath away!! My girlfriend and I are new to the area, and we loved it here!! Not just the products they offer, did I mention that they are orgasmic....No by seriously besides the candy they have freakin ice cream. I mean wow!! And to top off all this pleasure, the staff was so helpful she even offered us information in regards to "things to do". And "things to see in the area. Went here last night with my family and its a little small but has a lot of stuff! Tried their milk chocolate covered pretzels and they were delicious! they are not stingy on their chocolate dipping either and the milk chocolate was very very good! we also got the chocolate covered strawberries and they were one of the best i have ever had! what makes them better is that they take off the stupid stem and they dip the whole strawberry in the chocolate! its great! the dipped banana was good too and so was the peanut butter cup! the only thing that was gross was the dark chocolate dipped pecan or something oh wow that was awful! lol but i hate dark chocolate ! the only reson they are not getting 5 stars is one their a little pricey they should drop prices but .50 on some and at lease 1-1.50 on others. And the customer service was childish (because they were young teens) and not professional. no greeting when you walked in just laughing and talking about their weekend no explanation when you say its your first time here no explaining on what is the best etc. nothing! they really need to fix their training here to make people feel welcome and want to come back! otherwise the chocolate is good and worth it ! read more

This is as truthful as can be. Sometimes it tastes really good and fresh. And sometimes it tastes old, or weird maybe different is the word. I don't think everything is made fresh daily.... But when it's fresh you definitely can tell the difference, and it's soooo good. Father's Day weekend it was all fresh I could tell. Especially with all the traffic coming and going. The peanut butter squares are good, peanut butter Rice Krispies, turtle bearclaws whatever they're called, but again it's hit or miss on taste quality or has been for me many times. Overall, good selection and gift ideas, good fudge and variety, and ice cream as well. Nice folks run the place from what I've seen for the most part. Usually it's a pretty in and out experience even when it's crowded. I'll be a life long customer regardless. read more

This chocolate "hut" is the BEST! The chocolate covered strawberries are HUGE and so delicious. They do special orders for bridal showers and gifts so check this place out! Nobody else was in the store but us, so I wonder how they couldn't get our order right. McHenry location: Disappointed in the service. The first young gal I had was very courteous and sweet. She had wonderful attitude and seemed eager to help. We realized needed a few more items and came back into the store after dropping off first purchase in car. The second person was rude and impatient. She was not helpful at all and a bit sarcastic when asking about the products. I initially would have rated the store 4....but she brought this rating down to 2 with the attitude. She additionally seemed un-educated about the type of credit cards the store took and oblivious to the Small Business Saturday.
