I hike here and there, but for zanja I had to take a few breaks on the way up. This location offers many routes and it all depends on your skills. It is most inclines with very few declines. Signs and easy to follow dirt routes will guide you all the way up and down. Worth of advice, bring some water, snacks and some hiking shoes. There is no problem using running shows, but hiking boots make it easier. The Zanja trails are located in a good area near nice neighborhoods, but I did see a few transients. Dirt parking is available at the entrance and cell reception works just fine. The scenery is totally worth the challenge.

The playground is a huge win for kids; it has a zipline, several slides, and fun climbing structures that keep them entertained for a long time. We've also been here during softball/baseball games, and it's such a fun, festive environment with families cheering and enjoying the evening. One thing I will mention is that the park could definitely use more lighting at night when games aren't happening, especially during the parts of the year when the sun sets earlier. It can get a little too dark too fast. Overall, though, it's a great park for all ages and one of our favorite local spots!

There's a huge grassy space for soccer and baseball, and a hill if you have kids that enjoy rolling down them. They also have a large gazebo with limited table-benches. Great for hosting an outdoor party and dog-friendly too (they have trash for disposing doggy poop). Perfect for picnics if you bring your own EZ-Up or outdoor chairs. Note: it gets busy when there's a game here. They have some parking spaces within the park. And more along the neighborhood streets.

At the beginning of the trail is a small, but adequate blacktop parking area. It is also dirt bike friendly with wide paths. Please see my trail maps pic. This shows the overview of the area, and a website for specific maps. At the end of the trail is a loop to a great lookout. There is some up hill grade to get there so pace yourself. The hike is well worth the views of San Tim canyon. There is plenty to see along the way: hawks, lizards and tons of flowers (seasonal) and native vegetation. On the southside of the trail there is a meandering creek that is usually running - so peaceful to hear a babbling brook. The Redlands Conservancy has done a good job in maintaining and protecting the area.

Its amazing how wonderful things come your way when you least expect it…read more This is exactly how we discovered this annual event. As I was driving down a street, I see a police officer who had just stopped traffic. Within minutes, all I can see was a wave of cyclist coming towards our car. Fortunately, they turned just in front of where the car was stopped. I don't know what drew my attention to these riders but it kept me curious enough to check out the event. We watched a group of cyclists race around the 1-mile loop for about an hour, but afterwards, my wife got dizzy from watching these riders. For some reason, you do get dizzy when your watching too close to the riders, but the moment you step back.....things are much better. (just a bit of advice, don't hang your head over the rails to try and snap a cool photo.......you just might lose your head) Redlands Bicycle Classic: 1. Location - Downtown Redlands (just on the corner of the Redlands Mall......this is where the booths and finish line are located.....otherwise the races go through a 1-mile loop around downtown and another course which lasts about 4-5 hours goes through the hills of Sunset). 2. Ambiance - Variety.....from cyclist fanatics to onlookers (the ones who probably had nothing else to do but drove by the event and noticed the races). 3. Entrance Fees/Parking - Parking near downtown is not very difficult.... Many people parked by or behind the CVS store or around the downtown businesses. 4. Was it Worth it ? - For a first time viewer, I say these cyclist should be praised for how fast and how close they ride together. Fortunately, we didn't see any accidents during the races, but just watching those cyclist going 30 mph and riding so close to each other was exciting. I recommend this event.
