Came in today for a skateboard. I'm working with an organization called House of Ruth, and one of the kids is a 15 year old boy and asked for a skateboard on his wish list. Gio was awesome and helped build the prefect board for this kid. He asked a few questions about him to help determine what size board we would need. We got the pick out the design and color wheels. Rang us up and they had a 20% off deal he mentioned to us which really helped. After he rang us up he took all the parts back to the back of he store and from there Bailey put the board together. On top of Gio and Bailey being soo friendly and helpful. The whole staff was great. The store was clean, everything folded neatly and in its place. I used to shop at active when I was in high school, today I took my 14 & 19 year old. I feel old. Lol We were looking for snowboard boots and bindings for my boys. I was looking online for cyber Monday sales. Some of the sites looked shady. There were a couple decent sites but it was hard to find a 12 men's. I decided to call Active b/c I didn't know the difference between a $100 boot and a $300 boot. Whomever answered the phone was super helpful even though I told him I was going to buy online. He suggested coming in to see the difference and talk to the snowboard expert. So glad I did!!! Ethan is full of product knowledge! He can even help a clueless mom get it. I'm also glad I brought both boys in. One has wide feet, but normal legs. Ethan found a boot that adjusts in separate places. Also we found out my son needed a size 13, not 12, so if I had ordered online and given them to him before snowboarding it wouldn't have fit! My other son has a really narrow foot and Ethan was able to find something perfect for him as well! We talked about what kinds of boarding they do and that helped us figure out what binding to go with. I would have been completely clueless looking online. Before I used to get their snowboard stuff at Sports Chalet and was never told any of this info! We spent 2 1/2 hours in store shopping for snowboarding things and other stuff. The whole time Ethan was super helpful and patient! I was getting hangry & tired but he was totally chill! Highly recommend going, especially if you aren't a snowboard expert! read more

I got an Active deck with Active wheels and Thunder trucks for about $85. That was a STEAL! The friend staff assembled the board for me. The employee helping me was very informative and helpful. I also bought some protective pads while I was there. The only reason I am not giving this store a 5 star review is because they didn't have any wrist guards in stock, and a they didn't have any helmets in my size. The nice young man opened up the case, then proceeded to try to tell me what sunglasses i wanted. I ignored him and asked to see a pair of SPY glasses and as i placed them on my face he then decided to instruct me how sunglasses should fit. Guy, i'm 37 years old, i don't need some dang kid to tell me how my sunglasses that i've been wearing for 25 years need to go on my face. I like this Active location mostly because it has a huge selection. A good selection of Capita snowboards and Thirtytwo boots. They have 5 Active shirts for $50 which is a great deal. They also sell lift tickets for mountain high here. The customer service is the best I have ever experienced! I like the San Dimas Active Ride Shop better and have been shopping there for 10 years. Decided to give this branch a try and as my brother and I walked in, no one greeted us and noticed the workers just glanced at us and looked away. I don't know. Is it because we're brown?? since all the workers at the store at that time were all white and I've lived in Rancho for 4 years as well and Rancho has a lot of white people than Los Angeles or West Covina. I'm not being racist here, its just what I notice. Anyway this location lacks customer service and their selection seems to lack as well. Went in and looked for Nike SB's and they had ZERO SBs here. Ive bought a few SBs from Active in the past as well. I looked at their website to see if they have SBs online and they did, which means they're still contracted with Nike SBs but they did not have them in this location. Bleh whatevers. This place is always clean and well maintained, I never have any problems. Except today I bought 2 shirts on sale buy one get one and bought a third shirt came out to 53$ and some change and the worst thing that could've happened.. did!
