First of time trying this place, I put it on my radar after it kept popping up on my restaurants downriver. I didn't read the reviews because I didn't want to have any ideas or biases in my head before I tried it. Okay, let's go the restaurant sits on the corner of W. Jefferson and Southfield so it's fairly easy to find however parking is a joke. I parked at an apartment complex and walked down to it. Upon arrival the restaurant was surprised empty other than what looked like returning customers so that put my mind at ease, especially because this place was pretty dirty floor to ceiling. My waitress took a while to take my order but was very nice. I order a water, and a chicken sub with fries. So the chicken on the sub was seasoned very well other than that everything else was just barely edible. The lettuce on my sub was brown and the tomato was tomato chunks that fell off when I lifted the sub to my mouth and the fries were flavorless, mushy and cold. This place was really good, it's not in a very good location but coming here in the morning for Coney dogs and Chili fries was what I needed, I had the New York Dogs which had sauerkraut on them and the kraut was delicious. The chili cheese fries were very crispy and the cheese was good but the Chili, oh man, it seemed like they poured a whole can of chili on them and the chili was amazing. Another Door Dash lunch experience! The grilled chicken salad was delicious and fresh and the grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I chose Greek Salad Dressing to accommodate my salad , no problems there. This is a nice size portion for one or two people ( with a I just want a side salad idea in mind). The coney dog was ok. I've tasted better chili , I prefer more onions and yellow mustard on mine . I can say they loaded us up with condiments. I guess they are worth stopping in and giving a try. read more

Very busy loads of take out orders all day long. Very good food and low prices keep us coming back. The Big Sam Breakfast rules 8 bucks n change gets you 3 Eggs, Sausage Bacon Ham Taters n Toast my favorite. Love the Corned Beef n Cheese Egg Rolls Omg a must try a order of three. Service was great. Fantastic in fact. But the coney dog was bland. I have had better at the root beer stand. Fries were soggy but hot.

The food was terrible. I would not recommend this place. The steak was over cooked and seasoned bad. The meatloaf tasted processed and the vegetables were old and dry. The side salad consists of a few pieces of lettuce and one slice of tomato cut in half with a pile of onions. The service was great. Save your money and eat somewhere else. read more

I came early about 8am before fishing. There was no one in there ate the time but regulars were arriving at the same time. The wait staff was great. Food was great. Decor was great for the area being so close to the water. Mother nature is not always nice to sea boarding structures. IJS. Family late night bite. After grandsons spring concert ( kindergarten) his choice. It was delicious. Husband had their homemade meatloaf 2 up. I had a very fluffy omelet. French toast for grandson #1 for the singing artist of the night hot dog.. Club sandwich was choice of their mom she said delicious . Their dad had excellent over easy eggs and tasty hash browns. The present owner bought it about 6 years ago (from Dec 2012) who had owned it for 30 years. This place is a solid value.

The manager asked me to bring a burger back ten minutes after her employee offered us a credit, accused me of trying to get a free burger.

I would say the best thing there is the french fries. The coneys are usually luck warm. I had the fish and chips before. Not good. The fish tasted like it came from a box of frozen sticks. read more

Food was decent, but I ordered 2 orders of chicken strips and the menu said it came with 4 strips, both orders came with 3 each. I also ordered the kids chicken tenders meal which only came with 1 piece of chicken. Even tho the menu didn't specify how many came with the meal, it said chicken tenders with an s which means more than one. I called the restaurant back when I got home with my carry out to explain the issue, but they were unable to help because apparently it's not their problem that their online menu was wrong. read more

I've only had their Chicken Omelet, but they are the best I've ever had. The chicken is never dry and it doesn't leave a funny aftertaste, unlike some I've had in the past. I live in Taylor, but will have my husband drive way out to Ecorse to get an omelet on my off days. I only rated them four stars because I haven't explored their menu any further. I planned on doing so, only to come back to the omelet. Delish! read more
