I just wanted to take a minute to write out some praise for the Maywood office manager, Shereen for being absolutely amazing! She really has helped me with her amazing patient service and being available to answer any and all questions I had. I emailed this email service for a question, and was luckily called by Shereen, who really helped me out by answering my question, and even going as far as calling my surgeon to speak with him and sort everything out for me, all within one hour! This is the best experience I have ever had with a medical professional office, and her enthusiasm to help me really highlights her passion to provide the best patient care and experience possible, and for that I am forever thankful. She has been so delightful and helpful in promptly answering my questions and guiding me in the right direction, as well as having so much patience to really help me out as this process can be rather confusing, and I just wanted to thank Riverside Medical Group for being the absolute best group of medical professionals and staff that I have encountered so far! Riveriside Med Group (Optus) are the worst type of care for your kids. These type of organizations you do not have access to doctor rather machines. It's even worse when you need to schedule or see a doctor. But if you need a single medical form signed by the doctor it takes over 3 weeks to get a document signed or physical for your kids. If possible please choose a very personal care for your kids locally. I have been touch with them for 3 weeks and in person staff is horrible the way they speak to you and online people send mixed signals. The online staff is somewhere remote and they do not work well with in person staff. Avoid them at any cost. read more

This place was likely rebranded as Optum, most likely due to purchase of the facility by Optum, a division of United Health Care, as best as I can tell. My advice: avoid it - bad at follow up, not answering phones during work hours, after hours phones go only to the pediatric division, my Rx refill request months ago was ignored and I had to go to another practice, and to top it off - an administrative matter was not responded to that had to be done before the Dr. (Laureano - Dermatology) went on vacation today. If you can't get Rx refills, administrative things done, and after hours on call help, you are better off establishing a relationship with another practice. read more

These people treat their patients like fast food employees. BEWARE! I understand that Opton bought out & changed ownership of this medical facility. I had trouble breathing, had 0 covid symptoms & I was clueless so I came in to see the Dr. on Monday March 5th. I have been calling the Drs office, the Xray dept. where I was sent & a week has passed. NO RESULTS! I have been using this facility for 10years, I will no longer comeback & please beware. The Staff & Dr Basil are OK 1/10. The issue was when I was told to go get X-rays. A week has passed & I have yet to receive ANY results! I was told by the receptionist to call the Xray dept @ Hackensack Hospital & ask about my results. These people play games, do not do their jobs & leave patients waiting. If you want clarity, peace of mind DO NOT COME HERE. If the office sends you to go get X-rays elsewhere BEWARE. read more

Took my mother there for her covid vaccine appointment today, Feb 16th, that was made weeks ago so excited to get the vaccine finally since my mother is over 70 and has medical conditions. I had to send her in first as there was absolutely no parking and the valet man was just staring at me drinking his coffee and eating his sandwich. She comes out in two minutes visibly upset saying that the front desk person just flat out told her "no more vaccine, we called you, you must leave" VERY RUDELY . My mother was flabbergasted and tried to ask what happened but the Indian lady treated her very poorly and was very curt and nasty telling her there is nothing she can do or say. they ran out. I am sorry to point out her ethnicity but that is the only way to point out who she is. We are Asian too and I have many Indian American friends so it is not anything racist against her. It is just to identify her. We checked her phone many times and there was only one text message contact from her to confirm the appointment and that was it. no other calls or texts or anything. we wasted an hour of time and driving. No help or advice in scheduling again since they messed up. They should have had enough doses for the number of appointments they took! Not turn people away after they show up! This lady should be fired for being so incredibly nasty to senior citizens. How could a medical practice have this person dealing with patients? read more

I had to leave one star came for appointment with my daughter the valet harassed me and cursed me calling me a bitch. Then continued to follow me in the offices to further harass me. I will give Dr. Valdivieso 5 star she is one of those doctors you rarely find these days. She's been my daughter pediatrician for 6 yrs now. Not only is she experienced in her field she's also very compassionate loving and caring. I would highly recommend her. Now the clinic and their staff is an issue in itself. if your are looking for a friendly staff then this is just not the place. in 6yrs i can count with 1 hand the times that i've been greeted. Can I choose Negative pls This is the WORST Medical facility provider i have ever visited. This is not about Riverside but about the folks working there. For them is just to process claim & suck your co-pay . The Doctor in this facility is irresponsible & careless. He sent my prescription to wrong pharmacies, do not understand on patients urgency , despite of calling his front-desk didn't process the prescription following up in person next day the doctor processed it to Maywood CA pharmacy & I live in NJ . You can understand their responsibility, my meds couldn't get processed for the 2017 enrollment due to the goofup & i had to pay out of my pocket policy changes in 2018 To add to this i had to chase with these dumb folks to process the order for ultrasound & xray The Doctor by mistake had been consulting with me on the basis of my wife's blood report - SIGH !! He seems got confused becz we both choose the same doctor - LOL The entire staff are irresponsible uncourteous rude , do not bother about your time, pls do not choose-this facility . I can't even begin to tell you how bad this was. The hour and a half wait was the best part of the visit. My lab work came back with problems but I was never notified or treated. If I wanted to be treated that required another appointment. I have never experienced this. Usually no news is good news but if there is a problem the doctor will call you. Even my veterinarian does that. Not at Riverside though. They don't care if you get worse or die for that matter unless you come in and give them another co-pay. These large medical establishments have lost a lot in terms of quality of care. Dr. Bagdal in Maywood could and should do better. read more

My first appointment wasn't so pleasant I waited over an hour to be seen then they had the reasoning of my visit wrong I originally called in for and made the appointment for a medical clearance and bloodwork. They did only a physical on me then I had to bring up the bloodwork and the medical clearance that was one mistake The second mistake is I couldn't even get my medical clearance done the same day so I had to book another appointment so now I'm paying for a physical I didn't need. coming to my second appointment for my medical clearance I am pulling into the parking lot 10 minutes late after trying to get through to someone over the phone for 20 minutes to let them know I was going to be late I was told I had to rebook my appointment by a lady named Macky who was very prissy over the phone this place has horrible customer service and they don't know what they're doing. Terrible, never saw the doctor, not planning to come back. I called and made an appointment this morning because I have not been feeling well. My appointment at the Maywood office was scheduled for 1:15. I arrived at 1:00 and started to be registered. I was called into a room at 1:25 and waited 5 more minutes before a nurse came in to start the appointment. After spending a few minutes and conducting a rapid strep test the nurse left. She returned in a few minutes to check the test and tell me that it was positive. This was at 1:42. That was the last time that I saw a staff member. I waited in the room until 2:15 after having been in the office for over an hour and in the exam room for 55 minutes. In that time I never once saw a doctor or any employee to follow up on the positive result of the strep test. I left the room and told the staff that was sitting around at the front desk that I needed to leave to go and pick my kids up from school. They acted surprised that the doctor had not seen me. They also had to ask which exam room I was in. They tried to convince me to stay and they would get the doctor right away. At this point it was too late and I had to go. I am very dissatisfied with the service that I received today. To leave a patient in an exam room for over 30 minutes without any employee coming in is unacceptable. I don't understand why I was called to a room and still had to wait 5 minutes for the exam to even begin. I understand that doctors can be busy and that they can fall behind on the schedule. But from past experience I know that the treatment for strep throat is rather quick and simple. All it takes is a few minutes to come in to give me a shot and send in a prescription. To top it all off the surprise of the staff that I wanted to leave was comical. They were completely unaware that I had been sitting in an exam room waiting this entire time. read more

If there was any way to select something below 1 star, it would have been selected. This review is for the Riverside Adult section. My son needed to get a vaccine and, knowing the COVID-19 situation, we asked for a prescription to get the vaccine somewhere with less risk. After asking them numerous times and having them refuse to cooperate, we finally decided to just get the vaccine at the office since he needed it. They assured us that everyone's temperature is taken at the front door to ensure that anyone who might be infected is accounted for. After arriving there and realizing that no safety regulations or precautions are taken whatsoever, we continued to wait patiently on the line. The person at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and outright rude and started a heated argument right away about a bill that was not even ours and was yelling at me to get out of the office. After asking them about how they check for coronavirus, the staff member got even angrier and would not answer my question. Every single time I go there, without fail, they will yell and argue with me for things that were their own fault. From miss-scheduled appointments, to outrageous bills (and ones already paid for), to unhelpful and uncooperative staff. Not to mention, the wait time is usually extremely long. They do nothing right and almost every bad thing imaginable, they have. This is not the first time that this has happened and I am extremely fed up with their unprofessional, ignorant behavior. Even now, with a worldwide pandemic, they have no regard for anyone's safety or some sense of sanitation. It is both sad and absolutely disgusting. For your own safety and for the safety of everyone else, I wanted to make their lack of regard for the pandemic-- and professionalism-- known. This is the last time we will put up with us. read more

I went to the Riverside Medical Group Pediatrician in Maywood and I have never been so disgusted with a doctor's office in my life. Parking was almost impossible. When I went to the front desk to tell them that my daughters were there for their first appointment the ladies at the desk looked at me like I had two heads. This is the worst Riverside location out of them all. The front desk staff is rude, the office is overbooked and no one ever knows what's going on. My wait time from the time of my appointment was an HOUR AND A HALF (!!!), plus 20 minutes that I was earlier. This is ridiculous! On the other note, the gastroenterologist I see is very good, so are his nurses. Riverside needs to revisit their booking and front desk policies and fix their crap. read more

My son was born with a cleft lip. I was so worried he was never going to look normal. The surgeons that did his facial reconstruction did such a amazing job. They kept us updated the whole time. This couple had made the biggest impact on my family's life's. I was so scared my baby was only 8 months old but they comforted me and took great care of my baby. I would have never picked a better place. I wish I could pronounce the name of the surgeon but I can't but I do know they are a couple and they are amazing. Thank you again. I couldn't say it enough. Me and my family have been going to Riverside for about 7 years, since they were in hackensack. I can't help to notice that as the years go by this office is getting worst and worst, that staff is awful, rude and unprofessional. No matter what time you go they don't even say Hello, then they proceed to divulge you personal information in front on of everybody and if you even dare to ask for a copy of test results or your visit they give you the nastiest look and don't even staple them or put it in envelope. The worst part is the manager is worst she encourages this behavior, the last event happened when I went for an appointment and asked if I could also make a future appointment for a physical, the woman at the reception which I don't know her name at all says I am busy right now call us later to make an appointment. I responded please everytime I call to make an appointment I am given a hard time may I just schedule it now, the woman repeats herself 2 minutes later comes in the manager and says miss I am going to have to ask you to leave if you keep insisting, I said what are you talking about she then mumbles something in another language not sure if it was Arabic or what, but it was rude since obviously I don't speak the language. I have complained many time to Mona who is the physician I see but no changes have being made and the disrespect continues. Not to mention the Medical assistants are worst they don't wash there hands before touching you they are rude and give you an attitude when you ask a question such as what was my last weight?. I am sad that this will be my last time seeing mona same for the rest of my family, but it is hard to continue to be disrespected like this by her staff, medical assistants and manager and nothing gets done. I was told walk in is not accepted today after signed in and waited 45 minutes. In some cases you have to wait at waiting room and treatment room for hours and hours. I've been a patient of Dr. Weiner's since before he was part of this group. Since Riverside has taken over I find I have more & more problems with appointments. Last year I was referred to their Maywood office to see one of their gastroenterologists. I waited more than 3 hours the first time to be seen for 5 minutes. The second time I waited 2 hours. I went to the Saddle Brook office 4 times for the exact same problem & was charged my copay each time even though one of those times was to tell me my bloodwork results were normal...couldn't they have told me that over the phone? I was told to get an appointment with one of their ENTs & when I called to make the appointment I was told the only availability they had was for more than a month away. Today I called at 9 am because I was in such pain & the lady who answered was very difficult to understand. I explained to her I needed an emergency appointment with an ENT & she sent me to the Maywood office. When I got there the girl at the desk told me there were no ENTs in the office that day & went right back to doing whatever she was doing. I went outside to call the service & was told my appointment was for a primary doctor. Why would I go to Maywood for a primary doctor when my primary is in Saddle Brook? They told me to go to my primary in 2 hours. When I went there, I was again charged my copay then told they couldn't do anything & I should see an ENT which the earliest would be in 4 days. I got so angry I walked out after telling them how angry I was. The office manager called me twice to tell me to go to their Jersey City office around 3 & they may be able to see me today. Maybe. She wasn't sure. That would've been 3 offices in 1 day for a maybe...and probably another copay. read more

My family has been using Riverside for about 6 years and we LOVE the pediatric portion of the practice. I recently went for my physical and was offered the BRCA gene test. I was told the insurance would cover it and if not, I would receive a phone call to discuss cost and make a decision if I wanted it done. Three weeks later I received a letter from Aetna that coverage was denied. A week later I had a claim for $6,040 with coverage denied. I panicked. That's a lot of money. I called the office, the wait time was close to 30min to speak to someone at the Maywood branch. I was told to call later and speak to Ghazal, the office manager. I decided to stop by with copies of my documents. Ghazal was nice, she told me she needed to contact the representative who handles the tests. I called back twice the next day, waited on hold, no information. I stopped by a couple days later and they told me to wait for a call. I really didn't know what to expect. A lot of waiting and uncertainty. I got a call from the lab that afternoon. The woman I spoke to was kind, professional, and knowledgeable. She told me denied claims are not billed to the patient. Total relief. I appreciate that Ghazal advocated on my behalf and found they answers I needed. Waiting was a bit nerve-wracking, but the office staff was polite, and sympathetic. Two things that would improve my experience would be shorter wait times on the phone and a better representation of what patients should expect as far as billing with this test. The lab rep who helped me in the Riverside office was very pleasant and professional, but it would have been helpful to understand how the billing process worked before I decided to have the test done. read more
