Just moved out 5/31/26...I can simply say this place is not worth it, I was there for 6 years these people that work here dont live there so alot of complaints they'll just brush off they don't care about you at all even the tenants that were there 5+years they can careless. HORRIBLE!!! Outside doors are constantly being left open. Homeless people sleeping in the hall. Trash being left in the hall. Laundry room always nasty with broken machines. My son recently rented from them. It was so disgusting so he didn't stay the whole year. Waited until the least expired and moved out. There's roaches and it's always dirty. I rented a rug doctor to deep clean the rugs and they still charged for deep cleaning and other charges. The maintenance department never comes out to fix anything. Monica the assistant manager is really rude, unprofessional and doesn't care about anything. They aren't willing to help anyone out. Seems like they don't want to give back your deposit. Constant sewage leakages in bathroom. Appliances break down monthly. Maintenance couldn't care less about constant issues. Also, the fire alarms go off throughout the building, multiple times a month and/week, which leads to fire department being called. The rent is cheap for a reason. read more

THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE I HAVE EVER RENTED!!!!! I have been here for 2 years. they have ant, nets, and red red flying insect problemseverytime it gets warm outside. They will add additional charges to your rent eventhough they frequently have issues with the rent pay portal which forces you to be late. THEY CHANGE THE LOCKS WITHOUT NOTIFICATION ANYTIME THEY FEEL LIKE IT! This is the 2nd time I have been locked out of the main entrance with no notification or acknowledgment that the locks will be changed. The Racoons outside are RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! There has been at lease 3 differ management teams since i moved in and all have been rude, money hungry, and lack empathy. This place is a last resort type of apartment not ever a first choice. BEDBUG. A lot of building in this place had BEDBUG, the management will not let you know about it or update you that your neighbor had bedbug. Your neighbor will bring bedbug and try to treat it themselves without let apartment know. Now it is the whole building problem. The management only said yes, we will treat you and the team they hire is very VERY NOT professional, come into your home after they treat the heavy infested area without any shoe cover on or change their cloth and bring more bugs to your home. (We had more bug after they come to spray and got CRAZY bite in the night) People in the office is not helpful at all, they hate their job. (I am a small plant manager who interview dozen of people each year and I deal with these kind of people sometimes, I could tell right away a lot of people work here hate their job and try not to help you) Example 1, Toll story I asked a Guest parking permit, Lady in Office: "Your wife's name is on lease, we can;t take her phone, she has to be here to get the Guest parking permit" When my wife is there, she said "Oh we are out of the permit"-----Kidding me? out of guest permit? What happened That night? Yes, I park the company car at night at 11PM after a long meeting. Of course, I got tolled in their parking lot and paid almost $300 to get the car back + $30 dollar in Uber + plus being late to work + lost a small contract + my boss come to my office kick my ass. The maintains lady(Not mention name for being nice) who I got transfer on the phone said, " the bedbug will only stay near your bed and the other apartment does not need to be treated" when I claim that other apartment clearly had bedbug problem, How funny she is so uneducated on her job with bedbug. A lot of furniture is being throw out near the garbage, you know most of the building have problems. OH...She also said"you bring the bug here". The only person will try to help you is a asian lady called SUE(Do not know how to spell), who is the manager there. DO NOT EVER STAY . HORRIBLE PEOPLE. BEDBUG. No enforcement. I literally purchased a car today. Parked it here. Offices were closed. Under 10 minutes being parked here, my vehicle is the sole vehicle towed from the premises. Singling out that the vehicle had temp tags. Talk about profiling. Easy mark. Now want $218+ to get it back from the crooked Contract Towing. This, despite all the other faults around this Bolingbrook Housing Authority property: all exterior doors busted open; Mail/packages stolen; all buildings have 1 of 5 lights exterior lights; no repairs done; dry rotten carpets; filthy appliances; flooded bathroom; non-residents kick your windows to gain entrance. Like serving a search warrant. Demanding to be let in at all hours. Because there is no lighting outside, can't tell if getting robbed. 3 years here, and still can't even use oven. Filthy beyond belief. Never cleaned prior to move in. If use, sets of carbon monoxide detector. Fridge and dish washer unusable. Mold in walls coming through. Work orders go ignored. Three stars for not being too bad with being helpful when I had issues. I never had insect problems either! Loose stars due to the aweful laundry room that someone decided to poop in one of the wash machines and they refused to clean it out despite my three reports of it still there for weeks! I lived here two years and my biggest complaint was those damn wash machines and dryers! They really try here and I can't complain for low housing income, you get what you pay for, but at least it was bug free and they listened to majority of my requests for repairs. I had the worst experience imaginable with riverstone and didn't even make it to living there. My roommate and I put in our application in mid September 2017. The first impression was pretty good. Office was nice, and the staff seemed pretty good. We soon realized that the staff was awful. Here's my pros and cons list. Pros: Office was pretty swanky. Cons: - only a couple times within my 6 weeks of experience with riverstone did their office staff call me first. Every other time we wanted an update or information I had to call them first. -They seemed to think that my roommate was incapable of handling a phone, and that they had to call me everytime they wanted to contact her. -we told them on the day we put in our applications how much money we made, yet today on October 26th we got denied because we 'make too much money' -the girl we worked with (her name was Joanna) was incredibly rude to us throughout the entire experience. She insisted that my job verification was filled out wrong even though I went over it with my boss before it was sent back. She kept saying that it was wrong that I was put down as three different positions. I work three different positions. What is so hard to understand about that? Overall, I would say that everyone should steer clear of riverstone. It's trashy and the employees are rude as they can be. read more

If I could put no ratings on this review I would. I had the worst experience with Riverstone. I initially got approved for the apartment but around the time for me to move in I was denied the apartment saying I made too much, it was an unexpected hurtful feeling nonetheless I moved on. While trying to get my $260 deposit back I was initially told "IF I WAS NOT ACCEPTED FOR THE APARTMENT THAT I WOULD GET THE $260 DEPOSIT RETURNED. All of this happened in June of 2022 this is September 1st 2022 and no deposit check and on top of that the information that was given to me is they will charge you $160 just to sit in their face whether you get an apartment or not. That quite an expensive "consultation", just to know that you would be losing over majority of your money. These people are scam artists and I'm guessing they pockets are depleted from the Covid shutdown as if they are the only people out here in in need of money. No one in the office in Bolingbrook has any information and these people seem to think I'm going to go away and not at least recoup my portion of my money. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. They suck, big time! It's very sad that the picture for this crap hole is a broken into car. I want to start this off by saying this is the most honest review I could possibly give this place. First the positives, I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment it was very small but it was good enough for just me. Even though most people say the management sucks almost everyone I dealt with was very helpful to me. If I had a maintenance problem they were there very quickly to fix it. I had a leak from the apartment above me and they fixed it in no time. Now for the bad side and there is A LOT. As soon as I moved in the mailbox was broken and both the front door and back door to the building was broken so anyone could just walk in. My mailbox broke THREE times while I was living here. The front door was fixed about 6 months after I moved in and the back door was finally fixed the month I moved out. Within a month of moving in I had ants and I am not a dirty person. They were mainly in my kitchen but I did see them in my bathroom and a few in my bedroom. as well. And now the worst part of this entire experience. I lived on the 2nd floor and the first 5 months everything was just fine. My next door neighbors played very loud music a lot but it wasn't too horribly bad, they had kids that ran through the hallways all the time, but after speaking to the kids that went away fairly quickly. After 5 months I got upstairs neighbors... very bad upstairs neighbors. I could hear EVERY. STEP. THEY. TOOK. Part of this was the neighbors themselves and most of it was the apartments themselves. This was the first apartment I've ever lived in, but I have been in many apartments in my life and NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER heard the upstairs neighbors this badly. The creaking in the floor was RIDICULOUS! Even in my own apartment it was loud as hell. I've never been in an apartment that has that horrible of a creaking sound everywhere you walk. I went and complained to the management and they spoke to the neighbors because they were clearly dropping stuff on the floor, or falling onto the floor or something. Very loud bangs for no reason. I even spoke to the neighbors twice and it never got better. I complained to the management again and they basically told me they wouldn't do anything else about it. So you heard it here, if you want to live here and do whatever you want, this is the place to live. I understand you will hear the people above you but not this bad. I had no issue with hearing people in the hallways or even the next door neighbors but the upstairs people were terrible and horrible. That was the worst part of living here. On 2 separate occasions there was this loud, rhythmic banging coming from downstairs. The first time I just left and came back and it had stopped, the 2nd time it went on for over 3 hours. It was coming from one of the heaters in the hallway downstairs. I had next door neighbors move in (who only lived there for like a month) who were building something and banging on metal with hammers with the door open. Needless to say people are inconsiderate who live here. I kept to myself, I was very quiet. But I guess that's just living in an apartment. Parking is awful. Regardless of what other reviews say, parking isn't nearly as bad as people say. After 3pm, yes it's very difficult to get a spot directly outside your apartment but you hardly have to park that far away. What's horrible is if you are staying out past midnight. I was at my father's house and came home around 1am and I literally had to sit in the parking lot until someone finally left because there was not one spot in the parking lot open. If you want people over they must leave by 9pm or else they have to park in the street, which could be like a mile from the apartment because everyone parks in the street, otherwise they could get towed if parked in the parking lot. And finally, they make you get the carpets "professionally" cleaned. They claim they told me about this when they went over the lease, but THEY DID NOT. Oh, and I did get them professionally cleaned and they still charged me for the carpets to be cleaned. I only got about $200 of my $600 deposit back. Awful, awful, awful, awful place. I would rather saw off my leg than live here again. I would rather be homeless than live in this terrible place. read more

I'm a current resident of riverstone and first and foremost I'd have to say I can't wait to move out when my lease is up. I've only been living in the complex for about three months and I'm fed up with the head of the staff that's in charge of the location. I'm not even having issues with the other residents which you would think would be the issue but no literally the staff! They lure you in with lies about the amenities which are nice and makes the place seem more upper class but what they don't tell you is that you can only use them during office hours which is during the times most people work. I haven't even had the opportunity to use the 2nd club house across from my complex because apparently there is ALWAYS some malfunctioning with the key fob. There was much that I wasn't told about until only after I had already giving them the $75 fee to run a credit check which by then it's like either work with them or lose your money. which they know and they use and and opportunity to be rude and patronizing towards you. Rhonda specifically who has treated me like someone's misbehaving child, will instigate and put you in a bad mood then play victim once you actually stand your ground against her. The 24 hour maintenance is completely useless. I mistakenly broke my key off into the door and when I called for assistant I was told to call a locksmith which would have cost an arm and an leg or just spend the night in the hallway with my 7 year old child and wait to hear something in the morning from someone. Today I received notice of a package in the mail that when too big for the mail box, is sent to the leasing office. When I went to the leasing office to retrieve the package, it was nowhere to be found. I was told to go to the post office to see if they had it and my mail carrier told me that they sent my package back because some genius said I didn't live in the complex. When speaking to Rhonda about as usual she spoke down to me and told me all she can do is apologize and it's pretty much up to me to figure out where my package is and pay whatever to have it shipped back to me. I could go on all day. After just three months I'm already completely fed up with riverstone. I already had my doubts the first day when dealing with Rhonda but again they already had my money which is how they kinda trap you. This place won't do well for long I can assure you. If they want to put someone inchargre they should put the two girls, Jessica and I can't recall the other young lady name who sits at the very first desk in the front in charge. They're the only two women who treat the people who's paying their salary with some respect and kindness. UPDATE: 01/03/2917, I already been in communication with the head manager sue (who I had to go out of my way to contact myself) and she went above and beyond to try and help rectify the situation. As far as the apartments, they are clean, updated, and the rent is pretty comparable to other apartments in the area. The apartment complex is located in the perfect area. Shopping and public transportation are within walking distance. Management keeps the complex the clean but on the weekend your neighbors will leave trash every where. The grounds are kept nicely and there is plenty of space for your children to explore and play. There is a very nice park adjacent to the complex and two swimming pools. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Aidee and Tashiuna are truly amazing and they genuinely care about the tenants. If you have any issues they will go out of their way to make sure maintenance takes care of you. read more

I drove 25min to get there on my lunch break and the nerve of the woman coworker. She broke down all of the hidden extra fees that are not online.. she basically said I would have to make over 22k but under 32k ...something about RiverStone being tax credit which I've never heard of. I told her so their basically section 8 but she refused. I call BS. I told her she could have told me this over the phone to save time and gas, but her excuse was that she likes to tell people in person. What a horrible excuse! Again, don't waste your time. Don't even think about moving here! The staff is extremely rude! They refuse to give out rent receipts! The landscaping is awful, when it rains it's mud everywhere. there is no where to park after 8pm, if you have company there is no where for them to park, they're constantly going around towing residence cars! They towed me once because they say my car was on the line. The hallways are dark and dirty. The rent goes up $25-50 a year! The amenities and club house are only open til like 5pm, around the time folks are at work! I was never able to utilize them! I had someone break into my car, I finally left after someone tried kicking in my front door!!!! It's not the best part of Bolingbrook! You got folks fixing cars all in the parking lot! I wish I can give Riverstone-Bolingbrook a 0 star rating! This has been the worst apartment I have ever lived in , do not sign a lease here, you will regret it. 1. When I was given keys after signing my lease Meghan took me to show me my apartment unit, she pointed out to me that she needed to put in a work order ticket for the closet doors that were not opening properly and the door to get into my apartment as the door needed to be lifted to get it open ( took several work tickets to even get maintenance to go check it out) one year later and the door was not fixed. 2. Cockroaches in the units, Rhonda ("Manager") does not have pest control done in the whole building, only in unit as if roaches don't jump from apartments. 3. They charge you to have a parking permit, yet the parking lot is way over populated, if you get home at 8pm + good luck finding a parking spot, you'll end up parking in the street! Seriously defeats the purpose of having a parking permit. If you have guests over they have to be out by 9 or 10, the towing company goes around and starts towing cars without a permit. 4. Customer Service is very unprofessional. 5. Gym/pool hours are terrible, they close at 6pm. 6. Walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors alarm go off or having a conversation on the phone. 7. Fees get added constantly. 8. Riverstone splits the water bill with the building units and it'll mostly be high charges. 9. Hallways are grossly dirty. 10. Skunks are constantly around Riverstone buildings, good luck not getting sprayed. 11. If you are in the 1st lever or 2nd level you can even hear the people above you, the upstairs lady was always up and it sounded like Bigfoot was up running. 12. Rhonda is very rude, which I don't understand why she is a manager, very disrespectful. Riverstone is a big SCAM they are after your money. Your $865 unit for 1 bedroom turns out to be $970. I do not recommend this place, it should be shut down, take your money somewhere else people the prices is what seems reasonable but I promise the prices they give you is not what you will end up paying. I'm so glad my lease ended and I am finally out of there and got myself a much better place. Realistically I wanted to move out by the 2nd month of living in Riverstone if that doesn't tell any future residents anything then I don't know what will. read more

Too many kids doing drugs!!! I lived here for year and most say it was affordable and love that they are pet friendly and that is the only reason they get the two stars. never had an issue with neighbors but the halls do smell like cheap hotel also kids will come out if school and wait for people to open one of the door and they sit with their friends and smoke weed every day. They also put signs in your door randomly that they have to go Inyour apartment which violates your privacy!!! They used to provide dog waste bags and they stop which became a shit show since the back was filled with dog shit everywhere!!! Instead of providing more bags they let the whole back be that way. Anytime there was no hot water it will take them a day to fix it. At one point the main hall door broke n it became a safety hazard because it will slam too fast it was like that for a week a neighbor had to bring it down on his own for riverstone to send someone to fix it. The place inside is big I give them credit for that. BE AWARE THAT WHEN YOU MOVE OUT YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM BACK EVERYTHING MAIL KEY MAINTENANCE KEY STICKER OF CAR OR UOU WILL GET CHARGE OUTRAGEOUS FEES !!! Also if u plan to have people come over they will tow their car at exactly 10pm the street parking is the worse of all if someone stays with you overnight make sure you call in your car or you will get a ticket!! I contacted the leasing office and they stated to me "they couldnt do anything about it." Hold the hell on. I have lived here a year now and at first it was great. Until it started getting cold and the apartments would not turn the heat on! Spent a few night freezing my ass off! Then the plowing sucked if it ever got done. I had to spend hours digging myself in and out of parking spaces if I could find one. The lady's in the office except for a few are caddy bitches once you live here. It's been hot for weeks not but the pool is still not open even tho they keep saying next week and it never is. The shitty lay out of the 2 bedroom makes it so that only the living room dining room and kitchen are cold. That if u want your apartment to stink from the shitty air conditioner. Also there is little to no sound proofing in the floors. So if u want to know where the people above you are walking or when they are having sex this is a great place. Clean apartments, the complex is quiet and I feel safe. The staff has been very attentive. I like the events that get hosted, like the pool parties in the summer. Different then the previous apartments I resided at. I recommend this these apartments for people who are looking for a comfortable quiet complex. read more
