Dinner was awesome! We both got gyros. Mine came with garlic parmesan chips, hubby had fries. Fries were cooked nice and crisp but oh those garlic Parmesan chips were out of this world YUM! We got pretzels for app. Came out warm and soft, delicious choice of cheese dip or honey mustard. Both were good. Beer and drinks were good as was service.

Newer brewery in downtown Saranac Lake. The brewery has a large bar and is very spacious. It wasn't crowded when I was there so the service was very prompt. The beer was good (but nothing special). I had an order of onion fritters that were quite tasty.

5/5 stars!! Top notch food, service and ambiance! An amazing brewery. Their food is hands down mouthwatering! The appetizers were so delicious and flavorful. The Hot Honey Pizza was so tasty! The hot honey on the pepperoni is a perfect combo and the Detroit style pizza has a perfect crispy crust! The desserts were average. The restaurant was spacious and clean, and our server was very helpful and attentive. Definitely going to be coming here regularly!

On weekends plan on waiting a hour for a table, this place gets packed. The best move is just go right to the bar. In terms of food, the quality is surprisingly good for Saranac Lake. Plus the amount of people this place holds the kitchen must be insane. But they do a great job with the food and I have to say at this point it's the best place in Saranac Lake. I can't directly comment on the beer as I don't drink, however my friends all seem to like it and they have a nice selection of other brewers beers on tap.

The Rachel sandwich : Complex flavors well-made and delicious. Turkey is high-quality with a great smoked flavor perfectly complimented by gourmet and coleslaw. This is not your average one of the milk coleslaw very good flavor not overpowering. The bread is toast toasted but soft. Nothing worse than hard bread that cuts the roof in your mouth while you're trying to eat the sandwich. This is soft yet toasted. Don't know how they do that, but it is very good altogether produces an outstanding sandwich that complements each ingredient used.

We loved it so much we came back the next night on our getaway to Saranac Lake. Both times we decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and attentive and provided some great meal suggestions. Enjoy chatting it up with some locals as well as other visitors.

Beautiful (and only) riverfront brewpub in Saranac Lake. Modern, but enough wood details to give Adirondack vibes. It was a little after lunch time, but there were a nice amount of people at the bar and at tables. Lots of TV's and a good amount of employees. Twelve house beers on tap and 4 New York guest beers on tap. We tried Stouts, cream ales, sours and lagers. What a great diversity of beers on tap. We enjoyed our selection and can't wait to try some more. They have a wonderfully diverse menu and they make their own buns, pretzels and desserts. All the food is made from scratch. We started with the roasted carrot hummus served with pita chips, carrot spears and olives. Excellent flavor and texture. We had the Broccoli Cheddar soup, Tofu Reuben, Jerked Chicken Wrap and Mushroom Pad Thai. The food was amazing and my pad Thai was some of the best I've had.....the mushrooms were meaty and so flavorful. Our service was very good and we're looking forward to our next visit.

Everything I tasted was absolutely incredible, and I tasted at least half the things on the menu. My favorite was the crustless quiche on a Dutch knuckle breakfast sandwich. Literally one of the best things I've ever tasted. Honorable mentions go to the salted caramel donut, Blackberry morning bun, bagel breakfast sandwich, and apple fritter. The chocolate donut and cruffin were also extremely excellent. Shout out to Brenna, the butter fairy and butter princess for the buttery perfection. The latte drinks here are also phenomenal. In addition to the quality of the food, I truly appreciated the attention to accessibility and inclusivity. I'm not lgbtq but it was nice to see the pride flag flying out in front of the store. What I am is disabled and I was so impressed how this tiny shop in an old house made their facilities so accessible to wheelchair users like me. It was incredibly affirming to see not just a ramp but a perfectly graded one that anyone could wheel on and a large perfectly laid out restroom. We chose to sit outside on the porch and there was a table that was perfect for me and my two travel companions. Tables inside are accessible too. As a testament to how much I love this spot, we had to drive by on our way out of town to get more things. I will definitely be back if I come to saranac Lake again and hope everyone goes to support this incredible business and the talented, kind people who work there.

The carnival was supposed to be the highlight of our weekend so we were a bit disappointed when we showed up around 3 and all the activities were all done and there wasn't much to do other than the castle. Nearly every business in town was either closed or operating with a very limited menu so we were pretty disappointed because we didn't have anything to do other than walk around the ice castle for the short time we did. We did stay for the fireworks but they started nearly a half hour late so we decided to leave because we were bored and tired at that point and sure enough as soon as we started heading home the fireworks started. That was disappointing. They had started setting up the fireworks when we arrived at the castle around 5 so I'm not sure what delayed the start of them. Overall, the castle was incredible and very impressive but the carnival itself was underwhelming at night. I can't say the same for the day time as we missed that portion.

We were glad we stayed here despite some imperfections. This voco-Saranac hotel is newish and right on the shore of Lake Flower, at the Saranac Lakes. We chose this hotel to celebrate a special birthday and to quickly access the Adirondack railtrail for bicycling. The drive to voco passes through gorgeous areas of lakes and small mountains. Note that there is no cell phone reception in some spots. We had plenty at the hotel itself. The hotel verges on being too big for the small lake. (Ads make it look like it is in remote wilderness, but it is more of a cute town center). Traffic was unexpectedly busy at the end of June, before the peak. There are plenty of restaurants, an Aldi's and a Stewarts nearby for convenience. Quaint Shops are in nearby Lake Placid (which is exceptionally hilly for walking and NOT bicycle-friendly). Seemingly 0 diversity! This hotel is Beautiful and Spacious throughout its first floor. (Note that there are NO guest rooms on first floor. They have two elevators. One was being repaired during our stay). They are fairly strict about their 4pm check-in. We tried ~noon when we arrived and the desk guy said he could not yet accommodate us NOR give us the complimentary chocolate, lol. We were able to check-in at 3:15pm, after our bike ride. Unfortunately it took about 20minutes to get through. There was a line, the computer was slow, and there was a form to fill out. They charge an extra $100 as security which you get back. There is a dock and sitting areas outside but also goose-poop and lots of sun. The sidewalks en-route from parking lot to the front entry had condensate water, a hose, and several fake-shrub-covered boxes to navigate. So do drop off any mobility-impaired guests and luggage right at the front door before parking. There is an attached restaurant/bar that offers an $18 buffet breakfast. It is too expensive, but the blueberry pancakes, real scrambled eggs with tomato, and fruit salad with super-fresh raspberries were delightful. Fast, healthy & delicious and lots of room to sit. Our Lakeview room on the 4th floor was beautiful, with a lovely small sitting area to view the lake. Stylish light fixtures and chairs. The bathroom was clean and handsome, despite the toilet being the only thing you can see as you enter! The multi-setting shower head had good water, but it was hard to wash certain body parts. When I tried to adjust the shower head, it became loose and a geyser squirted up to the ceiling and onto the clothes hanging on the door hook. The towels, robes, and bed linens were all super-white and clean, and extra blankets were provided. The pillows and TV were good. The sheets and comforter came up far enough. But we both slept poorly. Maybe the beds were too soft, with a foam topping that heated up? Or the AC let the room get too hot before turning on? Or maybe we had exercised or eaten too much? IDK. The Keurig-type machine made decent coffee in the AM, with recyclable pods. There was a minifridge but no microwave. Drawers but no dresser or desk. A phone but no pen and pad. The toiletries were nice although highly perfumed. Checkout was routine. We got a printed receipt at the desk.

Ampersand Bay Resort -- A Lakeside Launchpad for Adventure and Relaxation…read more We stayed at Ampersand Bay Resort the night before -- and the night after -- our big hike up Mt. Marcy. It turned out to be the perfect basecamp for both adventure and recovery. Tucked right on the shores of Lower Saranac Lake, this spot combines rustic Adirondack charm with a sense of comfort and calm that hits just right after 12 hours on the trail. Location, Location... Lakefront You can't beat the setting. The resort sits on 28 peaceful acres along the lake, with stunning views and direct access to the water. We stayed in the Saranac Suite, perched above the on-site Sunset Bistro (more on that later). With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and five beds, it was a perfect fit for our group of five. The suite includes a full kitchen with a Viking range -- which we mostly used for coffee, post-hike wine, and storing trail snacks. Despite being above the restaurant, the suite was incredibly quiet. We never heard a thing. Mornings and evenings were spent in Adirondack chairs overlooking the lake, unwinding, laughing, and soaking in the view. It's the kind of peaceful, communal space that makes you want to linger. A Rustic Feel -- and That's a Good Thing Let's set expectations: This isn't the Four Seasons or some polished modern lodge -- and that's not the goal. Ampersand Bay delivers a comfortable, clean, and authentic Adirondack experience. Think cozy rather than luxe, with wood accents, nature all around, and yes, a dirt parking lot -- because you're in the mountains, not Midtown. It's charming without pretending to be something it's not, and the vibe fits the setting beautifully. Boating Made Easy One of the best parts of our stay? Taking out a pontoon boat to explore Lower Saranac Lake. The process was seamless, the boat was spotless, and we were out on the water in no time. It was the perfect way to kick off our trip and get into that vacation state of mind. Hospitality That Feels Personal A huge part of what makes Ampersand Bay shine is the people. Brian, the GM, couldn't have been more helpful, welcoming, or genuinely kind. He clearly leads by example, because every single staff member we met was warm and friendly. I always say hospitality starts at the top -- and Brian walks the walk. It's rare to feel so at home at a resort, but that's exactly what we experienced. Sunset Bistro -- A Must-Visit We also had dinner at the Sunset Bistro, located right downstairs. Let me just say -- don't skip this spot. It changed my whole perception of resort dining. The food, wine, service, and views came together for a magical post-hike meal that I'll be thinking about for a long time. You can read my full review on Google or Yelp, but in short: this is a destination-worthy restaurant in its own right. Get a reservation. Final Take If you're planning a trip to Saranac Lake, Ampersand Bay Resort should absolutely be on your shortlist -- if not the only place on your list. It's a rare mix of relaxed charm, thoughtful amenities, unbeatable location, and sincere hospitality. Whether you're climbing a mountain, cruising the lake, or just looking to unplug for a few days, this place delivers.

The location, on Lake Colby, is convenient to all things Adirondack as it's close to Paul Smith's College- Tupper Lake-Saranac Lake downtown Village-Whiteface-Lake Placid- and the High Peak trails. Did I mention it is lakefront with kayaks and canoes to play with? The lake has a certain outboard motor restriction of 10 mph engines. Kelly and John own the 4 cabins. 3 are lakefront. Attention has been made to the smallest details like garden plantings, cottage themes, a boat house of gear, welcome bottle of goodies, small basket on the kitchen island with small necessities like flashlights, sewing kit, toothbrush, bug spray, pads and pens and more. If you are not familiar with the Adirondacks and/or want the "ADK experience", ( an attractive cozy intimate brown one story cabin on a pristine clean quiet lake with a great view with an attentive owner) look no farther than The Cabins at Lake Colby. The location is not way out in the middle of the woods. You are close to a main road and near the local hospital---- but when you step inside you are transported elsewhere! "Moose" Cottage was top drawer! Quality furnishings! Comfy mattress and sheets! The largest Moose head I have ever seen! Decorated beautifully! I can't give it all away! The flow of the cabin works. The kitchen is large enough for two to be prepping at the granite counters and stainless propane gourmet cooktop while others easily pass by. Room enough to cook together. The propane fire really can heat the place and adds ambiance. Outside there is a fire ring and split wood. We used the grill. Adirondack chairs line up like soldiers on the waters edge. Everything you require to cook was there! We forgot mustard and Kelly came over with two types. She enjoys meeting her visitors! These cabins are ideal for the couple who wants to get away. Two cabins have two bedrooms, two are one bedroom with a living area. One sports two bathrooms. Ours had a jet tub! Our cabin sported 2 queens and a sofabed.
