Great spot for lunch/dinner/nibbles and drinks. Peak 47 is located inside Whiteface Lodge. We were guests at the hotel and stopped here frequently. It has a nice lodge atmosphere with windows overlooking the resort grounds. We came here for lunch and ordered the chili, chicken sandwich, French dip, and chicken fingers kids meal. Everything was great. My husband and I stopped in for a late dinner one night as well. I ordered the s'mores martini- it was out of this world. We split the Cesar salad and the mushroom and goat cheese pizza. They were absolutely fantastic and big portions. They had live music going which created a nice vibe. Service was great every time we visited! Will be back for sure.

Friendly service and a perfect Mother's Day lunch. We shared the baked Brie which was very good. I then enjoyed a chicken sandwich and mom had the French onion soup. The chicken was very good and filling and mom said the soup was the best she has ever had! This is the less-expensive dining option at Whiteface lodge. The views are nice and it was enjoyable.

Stopped into this most incredibly beautiful lodge for dinner. This is the most beautiful restaurant. You will feel immersed in a cozy lodge setting. It is a family resort so lots of young children in the restaurant. We sat by the window and an amazing view. I had the house salad with salmon. The salad was fresh and generous in portion. The salmon lacked flavor. Not terrible just not very flavorful. My friend had the cheese burger and fries. Again, generous portions. This lodge would be a fabulous place to stay and play.

Five of us went here after driving Whiteface Memorial Parkway and climbing the arduous path to the top of Whiteface mountain. If you are looking for a wonderful dining experience with INCREDIBLE ambience reminiscent of those classic Adirondack Great Camps, this is a must! Please be patient with wait times and with the workers, as I believe staffing is still short due to the pandemic, but they were all working very hard to give us a great experience! For drinks, we tried the Watermelon-Jalapeño Margarita. Very refreshing with just the right amount of flavor and spice from the jalapeños. For starters, we ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Hot Chips and Onion Dip. I will be dreaming of these Parmesan Truffle Fries, as they were the best I've ever had (and I've had plenty). Not only were they served with a dusting of grated parmesan, they were also garnished with parmesan shavings and served with a delicious aioli. The chips were fresh and piping hot and the onion dip was amazing! HOWEVER, the amount of onion dip needs to be doubled to cover the amount of chips that are given. For dinner, we ordered the steak frites, rack of ribs, WF Lodge Burger, and the Rigatoni with Sausage. All meals were absolutely delicious! Although we were too full for dessert, you could have dessert here at Peak 47 or get ice cream or a decadent sundae later from the ice cream parlor downstairs. Alternatively, the grounds have beautiful fire pit areas where you can roast marshmallows or have s'mores under the starry skies!!

It's nice place to get quick bite. The whiteface lodge is beautiful so it's good idea to check out the hotel and get something to eat. They have small menu but there are few good choices. The staff seems to be all immigrants with limited English and you might not get the best service but it was acceptable.

I can't speak for the food as I have yet to eat here but always find myself coming back for their cocktails! The service was great, bartenders are friendly. Ambiance is great to enjoy a nice cocktail by the fireplace after a long day on the mountain.

You can choose from bar seating, indoor tables, or outdoor spots with a perfect breeze. There's even a big street-side table that's ideal for bachelorette groups or larger parties. The whole space feels elevated, cozy, and a little magical. Drinks: The cocktail menu is insanely creative and the pours are generous. Their espresso martini is one of my all-time favorites... I stop in for one every single time I'm in Lake Placid. It's that good. Food: I think about this food at least once a week. The menu is built around shareable small plates, making it the perfect pre-dinner cocktail hour spot for your travel crew. Order a couple of drinks and a few bites while you take in the lake views before your dinner reservation. My personal must-orders: the charcuterie board and the mac and cheese. Unreal. Price: It's on the pricier side, but genuinely worth every penny. For the quality, the atmosphere, and those views? Not overpriced at all.

Drinks were messed up and orders had to be repeated about 3 separate times. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm unsure how this could've happened. Some of the food was good - those who got the french dip sandwiches enjoyed it, as well as the wings. However, the black bean burger and beef stroganoff were average. It didn't blow us out of the water. The stroganoff had good flavor but was sitting in a pool of oil so that put some people off. I am visiting town, but unfortunately I would not come again if I return to Lake Placid due to the disorganization, errors, long wait for food and lack of food quality to make up for the prior problems.

I came to Lake Placid for a few days to work at a conference and on my first day I looked up places…read moreto eat and this one came up as very appealing so I walked there for lunch and was disappointed to see they were closed. I checked the times online again (Google and their website) and saw they should be open, but weren't. So, I ate elsewhere. Ultimately, I came back on my last night in town and saw they were open and I sat at the bar. The bartender (a European guy) was less than friendly, never smiled, and hardly gave any attention to me, other than to ask what I wanted. Service throughout the entire visit was extremely poor from this guy. At one point, when I ordered my burger, I asked for cherry peppers to be added to it, he simply said "no!" and walked away. I asked him if he said no and he agreed that he did. I told him to come back and I showed him the part of the menu that showed where you can get bacon and cherry peppers added to the burger and this was what I was referring to, except that I only wanted the cherry peppers...He walked away. I ultimately got the burger and as I suspected, no cherry peppers were on it. This guy was literally one of the worst servers I've ever experienced. Along this topic, I noticed that several places in town had these European servers and I asked some locals about this, seems there isn't enough locals to handle the jobs, so they hire these folks, which is fine as long as they teach them some basic customer service skills and monitor their actions to make sure they're not upsetting customers, causing poor reviews for their establishments. When it comes to the flavors - Their chili was decent. It didn't have much depth of flavor and was highly tomato sauce based, but was decent. The menu said it was award winning, which I found interesting, because what I ate didn't taste very award winning. The burger tasted pretty good! The meat was perfectly seasoned and flavorful and the temperature was spot-on. The bun was great. The toppings were also very nicely done. Their fries were excellent! I loved the crunch on the fries, they seemed like they were par-fried then finished fried to order - very nicely done! Overall, my score comes from the terrible customer service. I saw others servers giving great service to the tables, but I made the mistake of sitting at the bar and having this guy. Also, there was a blond lady, maybe the owner or manager who was busy chatting with guests who she knew most of the time I was there and was too busy to check on other guests at the bar, even though she as at the bar too. Tells me that they clearly care more about the locals and those they know rather than those who are just passing through. Maybe it's the reason for their other poor reviews, which I think is sad considering their interesting and unique menu. If they managed service the way they put together such a great menu this would easily be a 5 star place! Hope they turn things around!

I recently stopped by Big Z in Lake Placid and tried their spicy chicken sandwich with fries…read more Overall, it was okay -- nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The spicy chicken sandwich was pretty basic. I was expecting a little more kick, but the heat level was mild at best. The chicken itself was decent, but it didn't have that bold flavor or crispiness that makes you crave it again. It felt more like a standard chicken sandwich with a light seasoning rather than something truly "spicy." The fries were actually the highlight of the meal. They were hot, crispy, and seasoned well -- definitely better than the sandwich in my opinion. If I were to go back, it would probably be more for the fries than the main dish. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Staff seemed fine and everything looked well kept, which I definitely appreciate. However, the price of the food didn't quite match the flavor or overall experience. For what you pay, I was expecting something a bit more memorable.
