I was a little disappointed with my meal. It was over priced and not very tasty. I had the Caesar Salad and the legend burger. The salad dressing tasted good, the menu says homemade but didn't bring much life to the salad. The burger, although $30, was not good. I asked for it cooked medium, it was cooked almost well done and had no taste. The pretzel bun and fixings were lack luster too. The fries also tasted as if they were frozen and thrown in a frier for a second and tossed in the plate. For all the hype of the Whiteface Mountain Lodge this dining experience was a let down. The ambiance/view was probably the best part of this experience, the outer seat of tables in the restaurant have a beautiful look out into the Adirondack landscape. The service was good. The food however was not great. My partner and I split a Caesar salad, which was ok. The croutons were incredibly stale. For dinner I got the Lamb Burger which didn't really have any flavor whatsoever and for the price point of $30, it was very disappointing. read more

Great spot for lunch/dinner/nibbles and drinks. Peak 47 is located inside Whiteface Lodge. We were guests at the hotel and stopped here frequently. It has a nice lodge atmosphere with windows overlooking the resort grounds. We came here for lunch and ordered the chili, chicken sandwich, French dip, and chicken fingers kids meal. Everything was great. My husband and I stopped in for a late dinner one night as well. I ordered the s'mores martini- it was out of this world. We split the Cesar salad and the mushroom and goat cheese pizza. They were absolutely fantastic and big portions. They had live music going which created a nice vibe. The service was great, albeit a little slower than some might want. We were on island time so it was okay. But everyone who visited our table were always polite & helpful. We went several times for drinks and dining, each time was fun & yet elegant! The drinks were great! My husband loved the 'Drop it like it's hot'! Food here is good - the pizza was really nice & plenty for 2-3 people. We got an appetizer that was some 'knuckle' name - strange name but it was good. Like a potato soup but way more, and bread for dipping. The Kobe steak salad was a special - very good! That said - The venison meatloaf grilled cheese was okay, if not a little dry & needed more cheese. The desserts were okay, as pumpkin cobbler was nice but weird with cranberries added and the flan or creme brûlée was pretty but blah on flavor. Decent burger and fries at the eye-popping NYC / Vail Resorts price of $23. Pizza, on the other hand, was a travesty. If I couldn't see them making and firing the pizzas in the semi-open kitchen I wouldn't have believed it was not a frozen pizza baked in a conventional oven. A lot of frozen pizzas are good these days. Much better than what was served here. There was so little care put into this pizza, especially the dough, that the hotel should take that pizza oven out of commission and just start selling frozen pizzas for people to prepare in their rooms. The chicken was very good and filling and mom said the soup was the best she has ever had! This is the less-expensive dining option at Whiteface lodge. Stopped into this most incredibly beautiful lodge for dinner. This is the most beautiful restaurant. You will feel immersed in a cozy lodge setting. It is a family resort so lots of young children in the restaurant. We sat by the window and an amazing view. I had the house salad with salmon. The salad was fresh and generous in portion. The salmon lacked flavor. Not terrible just not very flavorful. My friend had the cheese burger and fries. Again, generous portions. This lodge would be a fabulous place to stay and play. read more

Five of us went here after driving Whiteface Memorial Parkway and climbing the arduous path to the top of Whiteface mountain. If you are looking for a wonderful dining experience with INCREDIBLE ambience reminiscent of those classic Adirondack Great Camps, this is a must! Please be patient with wait times and with the workers, as I believe staffing is still short due to the pandemic, but they were all working very hard to give us a great experience! For drinks, we tried the Watermelon-Jalapeño Margarita. Very refreshing with just the right amount of flavor and spice from the jalapeños. For starters, we ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries and the Hot Chips and Onion Dip. I will be dreaming of these Parmesan Truffle Fries, as they were the best I've ever had (and I've had plenty). Not only were they served with a dusting of grated parmesan, they were also garnished with parmesan shavings and served with a delicious aioli. The chips were fresh and piping hot and the onion dip was amazing! HOWEVER, the amount of onion dip needs to be doubled to cover the amount of chips that are given. For dinner, we ordered the steak frites, rack of ribs, WF Lodge Burger, and the Rigatoni with Sausage. All meals were absolutely delicious! Although we were too full for dessert, you could have dessert here at Peak 47 or get ice cream or a decadent sundae later from the ice cream parlor downstairs. Alternatively, the grounds have beautiful fire pit areas where you can roast marshmallows or have s'mores under the starry skies!! read more

It's nice place to get quick bite. The whiteface lodge is beautiful so it's good idea to check out the hotel and get something to eat. They have small menu but there are few good choices. The staff seems to be all immigrants with limited English and you might not get the best service but it was acceptable. read more

You are paying resort prices for average food. Expect a long wait for your food. Kinda of wierd our salads were delivered on our plates with the Salmon and steak. Had to eat salad after entree so the food wouldnt get cold. read more

Great drinks and Pub menu. Ordered the truffle fries and Neapolitan Pizza which were both good. The grilled chicken sandwich was also quite good. Service was quick and attentive. This may have been one of worst dining experiences I have experienced at Peak 47. The quality of food is not even worth one star. We ordered two burgers without cheese and received both with cheese, one with without a bun and one without bacon without request. The fries were cold and soggy. The burger was tasteless and tough. I could have easily given this place 5 stars even with the condensed menu. The reason I took 1 star away was because on our first day we ordered lunch. When we received our bill there was a $10room service + $5 restore fee. We were shocked but figured it's just what they charge. As we kept going back for dinner and lunch we noticed no other waitress did that. We no longer had the receipt so we didn't say anything. But definitely check your bill to make sure they do not put that on ! Besides for that, everyone was very friendly. They definitely were wiping down tables thoroughly. Throughout our stay we tried the burger , chicken sandwich , Wings , margarita pizza , prosciutto pizza , chicken and mash potato dinner and Adirondack beer on tap. All were very good. A lot of flavor in all dishes. Pizzas were much bigger than expected. They have two big fireplaces in the room which keeps it warm and cozy. Nice size bar with dividers so you aren't super close to anyone else. read more

We really enjoyed our experience at Peak 47. Our group had some picky eaters who were worried about finding something on the smaller menu they would like but they were all blown away but the atmosphere, food and cocktails. Sorry to see the not so great reviews because we expect this to be a new regular stop every time we are in Placid on the future. Great service too. We had a wonderful dinner on a Friday night. We didn't have to make a reservation but the place was packed. To start, our sever Ben was very polite, professional and attentive through our our whole experience. We started off with mouthwatering appetizers, roasted brussel sprouts and truffle fries. The apps both came out in a HUGE bowls, each being enough for probably 4 people. The fries were delicious and had yummy dipping sauces with them. The truffle flavor isn't overpowering but just enough to keep you wanting more. I also loved the big chunks of cheese curds in it too. The brussel sprouts were probably some of the best I've ever had too. Perfectly roasted with amazing subtle flavors. For our entree we ordered the margarita pizza and salmon. Pizza was great, it was perfectly cooked and once again had great flavors. Now the salmon was the reason for the 4 stars. Everything was eatable but it was kind of cold, the rice underneath wasn't cooked all the way and the beans needed to be cooked a little but longer. So we showed up on a Wednesday night and Andy was by himself as the bartender, 1st and foremost he was jammed up and busy like you would not believe and he handled everyone perfectly, this guy makes a drink like no one I have ever met. One word: Chauncy. The five stars are for every person we encountered at Peak 47, all of whom were generous, attentive, and wonderful, but Chauncy is really why we're posting this review. (We tend to be lazy about yelping unless an experience really stands out in the crowd.) . Chauncy went so far above and beyond to make our time at the bar truly special-- and we spent quite a few nights with him as we stayed at Whiteface Lodge for an extended period with a large group of folks; Peak 47 became our go-to evening spot. The food was delicious, the drinks were carefully but efficiently crafted, and whether there were a bunch of us or just myself and my boyfriend, he was whatever was required of in the moment-- intimate host or all-seeing drink-machine. We loved hearing about his farm and kids, and absolutely wish him the best in all he does. We might have gone to other bars more often had we not felt so at home with the Peak staff, and will definitely be going out of our way to come back to Whiteface because of the exceptional hospitality. I'll start off by saying the food was satisfactory, when we finally got it. The experience as a whole was not enjoyable. From the very beginning the service was not only slow but poor. We were seated and then left with empty water glasses for over ten minutes when no one came to our table at all. When finally approached, our server didn't introduce himself and was short and unfriendly. He didn't go over the specials, didn't recommend anything, barely said hello. We sensed it was going to be a downhill meal so we chose to order immediately. Well over 40 minutes later our food arrived. In the time between ordering and receiving our food our server showed up once and only once to tell us our food was "next up," twenty minutes after it was "next up" he showed up with it. Didn't explain why it took so long, muttered "I'm sorry, I'll take half off your bill", drops the food off then disappears. While we were definitely grateful for the half off, his personality and actions were just so flat and not personable, I'd never return. I've waited tables in several establishments and I've never seen a server so flat and dull. There is a certain charisma needed to hold a job in customer service and this guy just didn't have it. We spent most of the meal with empty drinks and an absentee server. Our kids were starving and cranky by the time we got out of there. I'd expect way more out of an establishment that prides itself on being a four star resort. Disappointed to say the least. read more
