I barely noticed the sign for this brewery passing by on the road. I quickly turned around, because who doesn't like a local brewery? So glad I did! This was my first restaurant experience in the Adirondack mountains, and it was stellar. I ordered the Rocky Marciano pizza, which is basically like a calzone covered in cheese. I wasn't even planning on ordering pizza. I just wanted a good local beer, but the smell of fresh, yeasty dough immediately grabbed my attention in the parking lot. Matt, the bartender was an absolute doll. He let me try a few beers and was super attentive. After letting me sample a few beers, he asked me if I wanted to order food. The smell of pizza still calling me, I decided to get their famous Rocky Marciano, especially since anchovies were one of the topping options. You never see anchovies offered, and I just don't understand it. They are so amazing on pizza! Oh my goodness - it did not disappoint, whatsoever. It's all about the dough, baby, and their dough was next level! It reminds me of a place in Baton Rouge growing up, called Fleur De Lis. They were Sicilian owned and had the best pizza. Just something about the dough. That yeasty, almost beer-battered aroma wafting from the dough. The sauce was good, toppings were good. I think I got mushroom, spinach and green peppers with the anchovies. I feel like it was literally the best topping option I could've possibly ordered. Thanks, Matt, for the great service and suggesting some local entertainment for me to check out. Also, thank you to the owners, who work tirelessly in the kitchen to cook everything with love. First time visitor and I was incredibly impressed with the excellent beer & friendly people who run it. Tried & took away 3 different crowlers: Leaning Pine IPA Split Rock Ale Big Spike All were fantastic, seriously great beer, and I look forward to returning for sampling more of the many beers on tap. Importantly for me, was glad to see that the beer list is NOT overrun with garbage "cloudy hazy fruity" New England IPA's like so many other breweries have done [because I say, NE IPA's are for people who don't like real IPA's! :) ]. They have an extensive brew list & a number of beer styles - as noted I tried three of them - including their Leaning Pine, an excellent & "real" IPA. The food and menu looked amazing and we'll be sure to stop & stay next time, nice friendly space, the kind of place you could hand out for a few hours. You can tell they're trying. But not quite good enough for us to come back. Super cute and small inside. Server was lovely and service was fine. The downfall here is the food. The boneless wings were a great portion of freshly fried, hot, juicy, generously cut white meat. But they needed flavor- salt or seasoning in the batter prior to frying would help. Or some salt sprinkled right after taking them from the fryer. It was a shame- they were perfectly cooked but bland. The little cup of sauce didn't do much. I got the delta blue which was supposed to be a little spicy honey based. I got vaguely sweet heavy tomato, no spice, no salt. The pretzels were two hot, well baked pretzel knots. Again, no salt. The accompanying honey mustard was good though. Used it for my chicken... J got the chili. He had asked for no onions on top but it came with them anyway. He just scooped them off and it tasted fine. Probably the best part of the meal. Above mentioned food, one soda, one water- $27.27 before tip. read more

I just love this place. The beer is consistent and solid. I particularly like the Clark&Marshall, and Mackenzie Mountain Red. All good all the time though. Most times I can't decide and just get another flight so I can some of all of them, heh heh. The food menu is great too, and ever evolving which is nice because there is often something new to try. They used to do an amazing breakfast too, but I think that is seasonal. The place is really layed back and comfortable. Pups allowed on patio too. Found this great place on a rainy day. The Mac and cheese is made with a local IPA. Great beer selection with flights available..I had a nice pinot grigio from Ontario. Highly recommend. They also are their own root beer and have an Olympic hockey Foosball table ( of course). read more

Beer- leaning Line IPA...Delicious! Black Fly BIPA- Too bitter for me. Wings with yatzki sauce was excellent. A tasty smash Burger and steak fries. Chicken sandwich was good as well. Red Sox memorabilia nice for those New England fans. Our server Michela- a very sweet and honest waitress. One critique is the way the bartender brought over our beers. He was holding the cup from the rim...ughhhhhh. You need to hold the drinks from the lower half of the cup. Sanitary foul! With that being said, I would go back. read more

Came here after a hike for some za and cold daddies. Make sure you wait to be seated, even if you're just getting brews at the bar, put some respeck on the sign! Do yourself a favor and start off with the car wash pretzels, you won't regret it. If you don't have a preference of beer, get the flight... if you like stouts get the stout (it's my fav)... We had their 10 inch build your own pizza, thin crust and it was delicious. Our waitress, bartender and hostess was all in the same and she was AMAZING! The beer selection was limited but we were able to find a couple that we liked. My husband likes stout and thought it was good. Drove over 3 hours from Vermont to Saranac Lake and was totally excited to got to Blue Line for boneless chicken wings. Upon arriving at 7:30 PM we were met with an upset cook and the waitress saying really 7 guys right before closing. I said you don't close until 8:30 PM and she said look closer and you will see the kitchen closes at 8 PM. Then she said the grill was closed but we could order pizza and wings. Then she came back and said that she recognized us because every three months we come to Saranac Lake we stop there and buy boneless wings probably spending around $200 each time. She immediately said the only wings we could get were bone in after she took our beverage order. Needless to say we said cancel the order and walked across the street to Labella's Italian restaurant were their kitchen was not closed. Was going to go back tomorrow as well but now we will go elsewhere. Total disappointment. I don't know if we will ever go there again. read more

Let me start by saying I waited a year to visit this brewery after I first saw it. It was in the middle of an expansion that was adding a kitchen at that time and it didn't appear to be open. So now after a long wait, with high anticipation, we made the 2 1/2 hour return trip. For my taste in beer it unfortunately was a disappointment. A major caveat, however, is that we did not try any of the food. It's a fun looking place with friendly staff. Pints are $4 and a flight of five brews can be had for $6. Personal pizzas, wings, nachos, subs, burgers, and other pub foods are also available. So why were we disappointed with the brews? We ordered a flight consisting of: Lake Flower Cream Ale; Upper Locks IPA; Farmhouse Red; Forest Home Black Lager; and Pumpkin. Our palate thought the cream ale was too light on flavor and not creamy enough. The IPA needed to be a bit more hoppy for our tastes and the Red seemed too light on flavor also. The lager also seemed to need more flavor. Is there a theme here? The pumpkin had a reasonable amount of flavor, but it was not something we would spend the night drinking pints of. Because we were not inclined to order pints after our sampler, we chose to not order food and decided to move along. As we said good bye to the owner, we inquired when the beers listed under "coming soon" would be available. We really were looking for a reason to give these friendly folks another chance. The owner offered to give my wife a taste of the Mud Season Brown from the tanks at the back of the brewery. As it turned out, we both thought this was the best beer of all that we tried as it had a good amount of flavor. Hopefully, it will be on tap when we return. My gf, and now fiancé have been coming here since 2014. We came for the first time during the week of NYE that year and it was their first month serving food. We instantly loved the pizza and beer. Their boneless chicken wings are so fresh and the car wash pretzels are wonderful. We come to the ADK multiple times a year spanning different seasons. Boston sports bar! Didn't know this until I showed up and luckily am a Boston sports fan. Sports memorabilia everywhere. Three TVs to watch games on. They brew all their own beer and root beer! I had the Leaning Pine IPA which was great. There was also a beer called Peine De Gallo which is a Mexican style beer with jalapeño! Not bad. For food I got the pretzels with mustard (they don't have beer cheese) but forgot to take a photo. The bartender was very friendly! We've passed by this establishment any times, and finally decided to stop for dinner. For some reason we could not get a table outside- even though 4 were empty. They packed every table inside without even 3 feet between the tables while high community transmission of COVID for the area still reported. Made for an uncomfortable visit- still could not get a table outside. Did not seem to have any visible pandemic precautions. Food was average. Grilled Chicken Sandwich was very dry, hard to chew, and had no flavor. Sandwich did not come with items listed on the menu. The cheese was broiled on top to the point that it was like a piece of leather. Variety of on tap beers was limited- nothing very interesting or intriguing on the menu. Staff were not overly friendly or welcoming. The whole place just felt shallow and cold. Not what I would expect at a craft brewery. read more

I could have had a much better experience, some of it was my fault but it was mostly based upon the owners. Spending a weekend camping in Adirondacks we wandered into the nearest town looking for some beer and food. One issue we provided was my dog, not wanting to leave him in the camp site unattended and I would never leave him in a hot car. The was no true first level patio space and not much to do about outside seating. One of the owners was kind of enough to offer pulling out a picnic table from behind the restaurant however it was pretty broken and rickety. I ended up tying my dog up to the table while we dined at the bar. Once settled in the bar the second owner waited on us a bit and apparently forgot or ignore the fact that I had requested a flight. After asking a second time she provided my flight, a bit begrudgingly. Her husband/other own came around to grab our food orders and was off. We didn't waste very long however I was surprised that upon ordering a burger I wasn't asked how I would like it cooked and a little than more disappointed that upon getting it, it was served on a sub roll, with what appears to be shredded cheese. The beef itself had no flavor meaning it wasn't seasoned. I think I could have had a better experience had the owners had a better attitude, before leaving we met a couple from Tonawanda, a suburb of my hometown of Buffalo that LOVES this place and the beer. I wouldn't want anyone that loves local beers to miss out on trying this place but I don't see myself coming if I'm ever in the area. read more

Stopped by for lunch with another family after a long day of site seeing. I will echo other comments that service isnt speedy, but the woman working appeared to have a process that worked and we got served in a fair manner. Food was super yummy. I didn't have a beer, but my husband and friends enjoyed theirs. My son enjoyed his black cherry soda. I did get reprimanded for slipping my kids some McDonalds at the table...and I totally get it. Not once did the staff come to explain or apologize or even ask if we wanted to order another beer. On our Anniversary getaway & we wanted to partake in all the Breweries in the tri-lakes area. Besides the extremely warm weather in November & Covid, many places are closed Mondays & Tuesdays. It was a shame they didn't get our business. One of the breweries we wanted to try was Blue Line & we are so happy with this find! The beers are tasty & the food delicious. We enjoyed leaning pine beer with their homemade pretzels & wings. My hubby had the rib eye steak & I had a smashed burger. All the food was exceptional. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. It was so good, we got take out & crowlers to bring back to NJ. While the exterior is unassuming, the goodness that comes out of the interior exceeded our expectations! read more
