While in Astoria we walked over from our hotel to Riverwalk Restaurant on the pier to pier #11 to have breakfast. I ordered the Ham & Eggs with pancakes and a coffee which I enjoyed very much it was a local hang out with lots of regular customers. Malia had the Denver omelet with hash browns and toast which she also enjoyed! My wife had 1 of my pancakes and eggs and a part of the Denver omelet and some toast. Because she wasn't that hungry and I knew I couldn't eat 2 pancakes. Service was nice the poor waiter had to take care all the tables by himself with non stop customers coming in and out, doing the serving, taking orders and busing tables. There was no view of the ocean due to it is on the inside facing the street and not facing the ocean on the outer side of the complex. - Best Breakfast of Our Trip! Never judge a book by its cover! Tucked away inside an antique mall, Riverwalk Restaurant turned out to be the surprise hit of our 10-day Oregon and Washington trip. It's an unassuming spot, but hands down served us the best breakfast we had during our entire vacation. Every meal here is generously portioned and comes with eggs and/or meat, making it hearty and satisfying. We ordered the French toast with an egg and bacon, a half order of biscuits and gravy (made from scratch--absolutely fantastic), a side of sausage, and two perfectly cooked over-medium eggs. We also added two à la carte pancakes with a side of bacon, and everything was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. This is a small, slightly hidden spot on The Riverwalk located inside the pier 11 building, which has an antique mall feel to it. Definitely 5 stars for the food and service. We were greeted like old friends and treated that way throughout the meal. The food was delicious and scratch made! The prices were very reasonable as well! I'm including pictures of the back door and the building its located in to hopefully make it easier for people to find! We were visiting the area for a wedding, but I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and would go back anytime we are in town! read more

My kids and I just happened to find this cute little restaurant on yelp, we were visiting Astoria for the weekend. We saw the reviews of the biscuits and gravy and just had to take a try. The restaurant is so cute, it's almost hidden on the pier, definitely keep your eyes out for the entryway, the gentleman hostess was inviting and called everyone friend. The pancakes, the French toast, bacon and eggs were all hot and fresh. Plus the restaurant is right next to an antique shop, after eating we did some browsing. We went here because the Yelp reviews were good overall. All I wanted was scrambled eggs without dairy and some toast and fruit. The eggs looked and tasted as if they were just cracked raw over the griddle and were dry and burned and not edible. They don't offer fruit so that was on me. My suggestion would be for them to not accept substitutions. It's a cute funky place with a VERY long wait for food. The wait wasn't ideal and I think they should have informed us upon arrival but that's not why I'm giving them one star. There was simply no effort made to make my eggs edible without dairy. Wandered in (lucky for me) on my first morning in Astoria. Went back again the next day. Will not eat anywhere else for breakfast the next time. The breakfast fried rice is out of this world as was my omelette the next day. I lived in the Deep South for fifteen years and while the biscuits and gravy were definitely not what I expected, it was great. I've never had white gravy with that much of a developed flavor. Watching the single server was a show on top of it. I've worked as a server and this guy was an artist. Treated everyone like family and was like pure poetry in motion at juggling tables and crowds. The food was classic breakfast fare, it was well prepared, tasty, and to the table quickly. They don't have a big menu with lots of options but they have the classics and do them well and quickly. The service was outstanding. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and seated us. We had a question about a menu item and our waiter gave an amazingly good description. The place isn't fancy but it was clean and there is a lot of options at the table like salt, pepper, hot sauces, sweeteners, creamer... Can't rave more about this place. Small diner like restaurant tucked away in the antique mall. Unassuming and humble exterior with delicious food. The menu is short and makes it easy for anyone with difficulty choosing a meal. Easily the best breakfast I've had in a while: hashbrowns were perfectly golden, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the egg was gooey with no wet whites, gravy was hands down my favorite part of the meal and compliments the biscuits. The man who helped us was initially shy but was very humble and attentive. We are definitely looking to make the road trip up from california to Riverwalk again soon. read more

Our order was taken - very simplistic menu but options fits breakfast needs. Pepsi products. Food took a little time but expected with how busy they were. Coffee was very weak, meal had an odd smell I would guess from the Denver omelet, BUT the omelet was really good, lots of filling, finely diced. Hash browns brown on top, very oily underneath. Toast was just ok hot, maybe not that fresh. Lots of Stuckers jam, but strawberry was on the other side of the glass, looked like a mirror at first. We were just walking down the river walk after attending the Sunday Market. Stumbled upon this neat restaurant. Nothing fancy, no frills but people seemed to be enjoying their food. Asked the server "What kind of coffee is this?" He says "100% Arabica". Follow up question "What's the brand?" He replies "Yeah, it's a pretty popular brand, you might have heard of it. It's called Folgers." Haha. Turns out the server is the owner. He started this place up right before the pandemic. He had zero employees and did his best to continue to hire and train all the while cooking and serving. The negative comments from prior guests are selfish and wish they would get removed. They are unfair and not representative of the place now. Such a great story and such a a humble hard working man. The menu was simple. The prices were reasonable. I ordered the half plate of biscuits and gravy, scrambled egg and sausage. Although not the best biscuits and gravy, it was towards the top. It would have been better if thicker gravy. This location is in Pier 11. It's a small place, about ten tables and has a rustic/nautical decor. I like it. The food was delicious. We all liked our meals. The reason I'm rating it a 3 is because of our server. He looked like an old pirate and he didn't have a friendly personality. We literally watched him discourage people from the place because he had to clean up tables. He would take the cart to clean up tables and would hit chairs (with people in them) along the way. There isn't enough room for it. He did get out orders right and as I mentioned the food was delicious. I'm not sure if he is the regular server so I'd still give it a try because the food was really good. read more

I loved that they had a half biscuit and gravy option (which was still a whole biscuit!) and they threw in an extra egg for the wait. That whole platter for 8 bucks.
