We checked out The Breakfast Club in Seaview on 6/19/25. The Homie had the daily featured hash with chorizo, crispy hash browns, two overeasy eggs, and a biscuit. I had the bacon and cheddar omelette with hash browns and whole wheat toast. Note: there was no upcharge for the biscuit versus toast. Good first impression. We were one of only 2 tables shortly after they opened, but by the time we were leaving it was filling up. Course it was first thing, but the place looked spotless and service was good. Although we had to ask for water twice, service was otherwise fast and friendly. The food was good. Perfectly cooked hash browns, wonderfully crunchy outside but soft inside. While the wait staff was great, the food was not. We ordered Eggs Benedict, Kitchen Sink Breakfast Burrito and the Breakfast Balls. I will say the Breakfast Balls were the best out of all 3 times order. The hollandaise on my eggs Benedict was chunky. The eggs turned. So gross! Couldn't eat. The hash browns, no joke, tasted like the smell of cat pee. Horrid! The breakfast burrito was soaked in oil. Would I recommend this place? No. It wasn't good. I do appreciate the wait stuff though. Gotta admit I wanted to try this place because of the name of the restaurant. I didn't expect them for having movie theming, but they were indeed all about breakfast. Cute little place with a good view of the main drag. I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs and has browns lightly cooked. The eggs were really good. Most people overcook scrambled eggs, and these were nice and buttery. The blueberry pancakes were giant, fluffy and the kind with the little crisp around the edge, but super fluffy in the middle. The blueberries were nice and fresh, plump and juicy. My favorite kind of pancakes! And I LOVE pancakes! The hashbrowns were too done for me, but they tried, I guess. The syrup is horrible, flavorless, bland, just awful, bring some from home! read more

Enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day breakfast yesterday. I had the full order of biscuits and gravy with hash browns and scrambled eggs. I could only eat half and enjoyed the rest this morning. My husband had their breakfast sandwich with hash browns and he could only finish half because he was full. We enjoyed our meals along with our friends who had the kitchen sink burrito. It was huge, he only finished half. French toast, chicken fried steak, and avocado toast were also enjoyed at the table. Everyone enjoyed their meals. What can I write, it's breakfast in Long Beach. We've waited so long for this business to finally reopen. Recently, we visited The Breakfast Club with a guest from out of town, and we were underwhelmed and disappointed. Nothing was exceptional. In fact, one of us had to request a second order of bacon - the first order was severely overcooked. Burnt doesn't describe it. Had we dropped a piece on the floor, it would have shattered. The replacement order was slightly less overdone. We took it home to use as bacon bits. The link sausages that we ordered seemed like they were microwaved, and for too long. All of our eggs - including an order of soft scrambled eggs - were brown, overdone. The hash browns were more like fried mashed potatoes than hash browns. Someone told us to try the 'Balls' - the menu describes them as "Sausage, sweet potato and blueberry meatballs with a hint of maple syrup." We tried them. I wouldn't recommend them. If there was a highlight, it was the sausage gravy! I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was decent. But the sausage gravy was really good. I'd probably go back and try their biscuits and gravy. Maybe they were having an off day. A 2 star review may seem harsh, but we spent a lot of money for some food that wasn't that good. Two stars on Yelp is 'Meh, I've experienced better.' Which is true. Even in Long Beach and Seaview. I wish I had taken pictures, but we were trying to be in the moment, enjoying our guest's company. I hope your experience is better than ours! read more

Eggs, omelet, hash browns, were fairly standard. No complaints there. Biscuit was obviously not made fresh and was too hard to eat. Lady at the table next to us was struggling with hers too. She wasnt able to get a fork through it either. There is no way that is accidental? Toast tasted stale as well. Coffee is awful. (Folgers drip?) Seems like a few minor tweaks could completely change the experience. Trying to save a few pennies serving stale food costs you more than it's worth by far. read more

This was a rough stop. We were stopped upon entering and told no outside drinks (we had a to go coffee cup and hot cocoa from a coffee shop). Went outside and finished my drink and threw the cocoa out and saw they had a sign that had been blocked by someone else walking in. Sign claims outside drinks are prohibited by the health code- I've never seen or heard that from another restaurant here. We ordered our meals and pancakes came out- 1/4 of them visibly burned and they still served them to us. The chocolate chip pancakes were burned completely on the bottom while the kids had several pancakes burned on both sides. While we were eating, another family came in and they walked right in with a large dog. They sat and no one asked if their dog was a service animal- they had no visible disability, the dog didn't have a service animal vest and there was no indication it was anything other than a pet. Pets are also prohibited by the health code so it was fascinating the white family waltzed in with a giant dog without being stopped but we (an interracial family, and the only people of color in the building) were stopped at the entrance and not allowed to enter with a coffee cup and hot cocoa. The food overall was mediocre and not well cooked but $16 for two burned chocolate chip pancakes (comes with no sides for that price) is absurd. I'll never return. read more

We tried to try this place, sadly they do not allow one to bring your own WATER bottle. I need to track my water intake and, frankly I just don't find the water appealing at most restaurants...so, I bring my own. I never have anyone question it, except this place. Too bad for them, as we are huge breakfast fans and generous tippers too. My water wasn't allowed, so we left. Went down the street and had no issues at that place. I even noticed some of the waitstaff coming in for their shift and they too brought their own water. So, while we cannot comment on the food itself, I can say that they have a right to make their own rules and I have a right to NOT patronize them. read more

Hey hey! This is a fairly new (5 months) place here in the Long Beach/Seaview area and this place is great! I always order over-medium eggs and theirs were perfect. Hash browns were done just right, although the sausage links were a tad dry. Bummer. So, I dipped them in the egg yolk! Hahaha Our server, Michele, was fantastic! I give her service 5 stars! A very nice and attentive gal. It was easy to catch her attention, too. For a while there, I thought she was the owner, but she said she's not. The only gripe I had was the chairs had no padding... The place was clean and bright. It's nice to see a business in a place that had been empty for soooo long. Yay Breakfast Club!!! No offense that you didn't get 5 stars. The server Raedene had quick service, and was attentive and patient when I took my time deciding. I got the French toast and it was delicious with the custard batter. I asked for my bacon crispy and it's perfect. Everything is a good price too. I will be back when I visit next. The art on the wall is an added bonus. My husband's chicken fried steak was fair and he is an expert at them. Other reviews say they make the best hashbrowns. Yes they were good but cold. We went on a Saturday morning. The servers here hustle and are friendly and helpful. I had the Dungeness crab Benedict. It was delicious. The pancake also was fluffy and good. The mark down is because the hash browns seemed to be straight out of the freezer onto the grille and the hot chocolate was made with water rather than milk and the coffee was odd. The restaurant has a modern, clean feel. It doesn't feel like a diner. It is much more chic than that. While I recommend this place. Hostess told us we couldn't because she had two waitresses and couldn't seat us there. Was really excited to try this new place and was very disappointed. All four of us left our meals barely touched. The gravy is so sweet and odd tasting I'm not sure you could call it gravy, the eggs Benedict was so overcooked that the yolks didn't run at all, the biscuits were completely undercooked and doughy, lastly the chicken sausage was so rubbery it was inedible.
