Clean, lively, remodeled indoor mall along the river. There are so many shops here there is certainly something for everyone. Normal prices, nothing too out of the norm. Located walking distance from the French Quarter, CBD, and Warehouse District, this outlet mall has a good number of stores, but isn't especially impressive. There's a small food court, a couple of NOLA souvenir stores which have a lot of stuff (but I don't think the product turns over quickly as several boxes of pralines were expired), and a Cafe du Monde (worth a visit so you don't have to stand in line for an hour at the one in the FQ). There's also a massage place if you're interested. It's right on the river so you can sit and have a beignet and coffee and watch the boats pass. It's also convenient if you forgot to pack something and need a hat, sunglasses, etc. Is it worth spending time out of a short vacay to NOLA to go shop? I don't think so, but is it convenient, yes. read more

We've all been to outlet malls, usually on the outskirts of every American metro area at an exit off the interstate. Riverwalk has all that the others do, except they do it in the heart of America's best city. You'll find the usual national chains, like Nordstrom Rack, Tommy Bahama, Gap, etc., but you'll also find unique NOLA shops, eateries and, of course, daiquiris. It's an easy walk from anywhere in the French Quarter, CBD or Warehouse District, on the banks of the river near the cruise ship and ferry terminals. Wish this was more open when I stopped through here ~8 in the morning. Only place open was Cafe su Monde (which opened at 8). I had a coffee au lait and beignets. Neither were my favorite but I enjoyed the experience and watching ships on the river. What I enjoyed even more were the wonderful store displays, though even the stores weren't open yet, I was still able to enjoy them. They were very well out together. I think the appeal of this place is that you can do your shopping and escape the heat. It has a little bit of everything inside so it's not just a mall, it's an escape. Staying at the Hilton allowed for me to venture in here whenever I wanted and not have to go outside to do so. I can echo what some have said, it's not your typical outlet mall as they self describe here. Obviously not on this page, but in person it is described as and outlet mall. There may be a few outlet style shops in here, but everything else is your typical mall store. I can also echo how confusing this place is. This place is huge in size, particularly the length of this place. When you think that you are done in an area you go up, then you walk just about the same amount of length you just did, then you go up another level and another stretch. It's great if you are a mall walker. The food court is pretty amazing. Having just a little bit of everything that should satisfy any finicky person in your party. And if food isn't what you are looking for, check out the bar tucked away under the escalators. This also seems to be where the cruise ship docks as well as the riverboat. Currency exchange is inside to help with that. It's actually one of the best places to people watch. read more

I was so excited to check out local stores and the shopping scene. The marketplace is okay. They have a Last Call which is s plus, and a very other upscale stores built on a smaller scale. There are a few electronic charging stations throughout the mall, but no chairs to sit on while you use and charge. There are plenty of kiosks where the you must buy this from me people will accost you as you try and sneak by. I was nabbed on my way back out of the mall. I'm still scraping the gunk off of my face. The food court is pricey and at the end of the mall. Consequently, shoppers are forced to walk the mall to get to it. Let more accosting commence. It's an okay place if you're looking to get out of the heat or the cold, and located close to the aquarium. read more

Stumbled upon The Riverwalk Marketplace on my most recent trip to New Orleans. Honestly, I don't know how I missed this place the last time, but I did... Anywho, the Riverwalk Marketplace isn't a market, but it's a mall, a pretty nice one. One that isn't too large, but has enough stores inside to keep you pretty busy. It's got two levels and to be completely honest, I stuck to the first floor. I looked around for awhile, but again, it's a mall. The same stores they have in every city. But they've got Puma, H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Kenneth Cole and a bunch of other places to shop. For me, it was a great place to get some air conditioning and be out of the sun for little while. I did pick up a few small items from the Last Call at Neiman Marcus, so it wasn't all for nothing. It's clean. I believe it's newly renovated. It's a nice mall. That being said, it doesn't really fit in the everything the Big Easy has to offer. I like it, yes, but there is so much more (that's better) out in the French Quarter. I would rather spend my tourism dollars on something more local than a shirt I can get back home. This is a nice mall for sure, but spend your money in the French Quarter. If nothing else, buy yourself a drink with the money you would have used for that shirt. You won't regret it. read more

Came here to stay a few days in the Big Easy before our cruise. The Riverfront Outlet has undergone an extensive renovation since my last visit around 4 years ago. They now have name brand outlet stores, (H&M, Kenneth Cole, Nordstrom Rack, etc.) an expanded food court, and access to the cruise terminal just a stones throw away. If you stay at the Hilton Riverwalk, it is adjacent to the mall so you don't have to go outside to enter it. The mall is bright and clean with plenty of security. I am really impressed with the quality of stores answer eateries now offered. All in all, a great place to browse and shop while in New Orleans and one I plan to visit quite often during my visits to N.O. read more

Well, I had to visit the mall, mostly to get my cafe du monde official beignets (Shorter lines than the one near Jackson square). It is an odd mall with its twists and turns, but I can see it being very accomodating for cruisers just docking looking to grab some goods before boarding again. Most of the external area is run down or abandoned and honestly would not want to stroll around after hours as it may not be too safe. I'd say if you need your fix of NO swag, daiquris, or you are a fiend when it comes to malls, this is the place for you. Lots of great stores. It started raining outside and it was really hot and humid outside. So nice to find refuge and cool air in the shopping center. Fun to go shopping so close to the French Quarter On the riverfront. Outlet pricing was so good. There was something for everyone in my family. Went to Cafe du Mondes for their famous beignets. They offer tables and chairs outside where you can over look the water and see all the barges and ships coming and going! Plenty of food spots with a variety of choices. There was a lot of people but not overwhelming. Parking can be tricky and the cost to park in their lot is not cheap either. I was visiting the area and staying in the French Quarter. Honestly, if I would have known what this mall consisted of prior to going, I would not have made the trip over. I heard that there was an outlet mall near the casino, so I was very excited about going to check it out. The outlet stores that I am used to are that of your usual outlet stores. This location had only a few actual outlet stores, with the majority of the stores being those that you will find in a regular mall. There were a few stores going out of business as well. The layout is strange, and can be a bit confusing. There are 3 levels, but you can't reach the 2nd and 3rd levels by the 1st level in certain areas. If that made any sense at all. See, I told you it was confusing! There is a food court on the 3rd level, which wasn't anything to write home about. Also, each employee in the stores that I encountered or had an interaction with here are rude. Maybe because there are so many tourist in the area? Not sure what the reason. We did visit the smaller location of Cafe Du Monde which is located on the 1st level. It is a nice location, and there was no wait. The employees here were friendly, but the beignets seemed a tad overcooked. There is also a lot of construction in the area, and different entrances. Be aware of what entrance you come into. Beautiful! It was serene to watch the barges travel in the Mississippi river and the small tug boats that pushed them. The Riverdale is full of places to shop and eat and you can watch them even make fresh pralines. Outside they have a area where you can play music and sit and enjoy the fountains. This is a pretty decent place to come and people watch (lol) watch the boats go by or just relax and enjoy what New Orleans have to offer! It was somewhat gloomy while we were here however, it still made for a good photo opp! There are chairs to sit in, some of which are actually rocking chairs. Also, the cool thing about this place is there are outlets attached to the poles so if you have your charger, you can easily charge your phone while your taking pictures! The ferry is here also and there is a nice little shopping mall that turns out to be very big once you walk around! read more

I have been coming here for years! This place has improved for the better over the years for sure! Just went the other day and I saw a great add-in, like a cocktail bar in the lower A level of marketplace. Also, validating parking has gotten much easier. For instance, instead of walking to the two final destinations of the outlet to validate you can just do it by checking the floor right before entering the store for the P circle sticker to validate. This is a nice, decent shopping mall on the riverwalk. It is a really nice area with lots of stuff to do places to eat. If you are coming from US than you can find places like this everywhere (especially if you are coming from NYC like me). However we went to see here since it was recommended in one of the NOLA tourist guides. The nicest place in the mall is the food court and open balcony area to eat or just chill. There was free wifi and there was a nice wind so that you didn't feel the weather that much. I suggest just come and see this place and the area but don't spend your money on shopping, instead go have tons of hurricanes! read more

Shoppers beware, the Gold Element's store in the riverwalk marketplace is a rip-off to customers. If you walk by the store and they try to coax you in, keep walking. They will tell you everything you want to hear but forget to tell you no returns. They will give you no information other than that they are not authorized to take returns only to sell. Instead hold you hostage until you agree to buy the products and if you aren't satisfied "they can make it up to you". In other words they are not responsible for anything other than making a sale. Definitely a very nice shopping mall for people staying in the downtown area. We stayed at Harrah's hotel, so this was only a couple block walk away. The mall is 3 stories; the top floor is the food court, with the other 2 levels housing all the stores. There is a Fat Tuesday quick stop for daiquiris in the food court, and they also have a popcorn place with over 100 different flavors of popcorn. You have to try the red velvet popcorn while you're there, thank me later. We spent hours here, and every store we shopped at had very friendly and helpful employees. The riverwalk is a great place to go. Right next to the Mississippi river, it has the most scenic views. The shopping is just an added bonus. Very nice mall. Had everything we came looking for. Jeans for him and cute clothes for me at Francescas. It is two and a half levels. Easy access via escalator or elevator if you cannot do escalator or stairs. Nice little eating are overlooking the Mississippi River. We enjoyed Middle Eastern food and wine out there. Two big anchor stores, Neiman Marcus Last Call in front and Nordstrom Rack at the back. This is a high class outlet mall. Not cheap.
