The house and grounds are magnificent, the service warm but discrete. Items that in name brand properties you get charged for are gratis here, without asking. Bottled water and ice in the fridge, Keurig machine and selection in the room, wonderful home-made short cookies on a plate, chips and breakfast bars in a basket in the room, and the best part, their own breakfast blend of coffee already for you to brew loaded up in the coffee machine. It is so nice to wake up to a flavorful strong cup of coffee in the morning, this makes the stay worth it right there. The beds are big, comfortable with high end linen. The bathrooms are big, huge, with terrycloth robes and Egyptian towels. Wifi is great with very good speed (35Mb/s avg.). I've stayed in three different rooms and all had their own warm personality and classic touches. I really like the Mountain penthouse room with the small private deck. They know I'm a smoker and always have an ashtray out there waiting. When I come in the door I'm welcomed by name. So nice after a long drive or flight. I slept upstairs, the fridge is a bit loud so bring earplugs. The bed is right next to the fridge. The portable air conditioning only available upstairs was also loud but better than not having air conditioning at all. I also with she had some Kleenex available. She didn't serve breakfast due to covid19. Her place is beautiful and the river is calm/shallow so perfect for kayaking. She let us use her paddle boards. Penny is very friendly. We got to see her other 2 rooms she rents out, they are very nice as well. I hope to come back again one day.

I stayed in the blue room, where as I lay soaking in the clawfoot tub, I could look out through the bedroom window at the beautiful snow capped mountains. The floors are heated, and the woodwork detail is very nice, making it feel like a rustic cabin that is also clean and comfortable. The Red Barn Lodge is on my list of places to return to in the near future, and the nearby skiing was fantastic. The town of Rossland is small, and the locals are very friendly and easy going. My only regret is that due to my travel schedule I could only stay for one night. Next time I'll be back and I'll stay much longer.

They were gracious hosts, making us feel comfortable in our home away from home. They did an incredible job of converting a dairy barn into an absolutely beautiful B&B. I would love to have my house decorated they way they have done the B&B. Some of the things I really enjoyed - heated floors, super comfy bed, quiet house, awesome clawfoot tub for two, delicious and healthy breakfast with more food than we could eat, and a fun tour of the place before we headed out for more skiing.

The host Greg was very friendly and personable. Even one day I stayed back in the B&B since I was not feeling well, Greg was very kind and offered to stop by the store to get me anything that I may have needed. The location was great and the home itself is very warm and inviting. Every morning we had quite the choices for breakfast, which was nice since I'm kind of a picky eater. And what better way to end your stay but to have a soak in the outdoor hot tub.
