Still a neighborhood gem. It's our go to place for everything pizza and pasta plus Spanish dinner specialties. The classic Sicilian slice is my favorite. And the kids love their calzone. Penne a la Vodka is also a favorite. This visit, picked up some buffalo chicken pizza, white slice, and Hawaiian. Yummy!!

Some pizza on display when picking up my order.

1st time ordering for pickup. Websites prices are not the same as the actual menu, even so the prices are decent compared to others in the area. They also have way more options and meal deals inside. Ordered the fried zucchini sticks, chicken francese on garlic bread, chicken sorrentino and a bomba dessert. Every single thing we had was DELICIOUS and PERFECTLY cooked. Zucchini sticks were soft inside but crispy outside and nicely cut. Chicken francese is perfect thin chicken and I requested on garlic bread, they give you an extra little sauce on the side which is a great touch. Chicken sorrentino was flavorful and perfect portions. Only qualm I had was I had to explain that it's illegal in ALL 50 states to charge a debit card credit card surcharges. Debit is considered cash, it should be treated as such. I understand it can be a matter of the merchant service for the cards but it's also up to the business to make a conscious decision in regard to consumer affairs. Spoke with the manager/owner? and he was very nice and gave me the difference back after I explained. I will definitely return for either dine-in (dining area is cute and bright with TV's around) delivery or pickup.

Delicious! Was visiting a friend in Queens and this place hit the spot! Pizza was excellent and the restaurant smelled so good! Wish the garlic knots were crispier but was a 5/5 experience.

Kind of a hidden but not so hidden gem! Please make time to come in here and sit down to order food. it's incredible. the red sauce is great and the bread is excellent. Ive been here a few times and always order something new because it's almost irresistible. The pizza is good - i loved the mix vegetable artichoke slice. Wheels are also good! OVERALL great!!!! Super nice staff

    Spanish beef stew

Do yourself a favor and get the beef stew. Huge portion and probably the best in queens. I've been getting it for years.

So surprised I've never been here or heard of this place before! I definitely will be coming back here when I want Italian food since I live so close by. We got penne Alla vodka with meatballs and Rigatoni Alla Sapore. The take out portions were very big and definitely enough even if you are starving. Order came with bread and cheese on the side. When I was there to pick up the order the garlic knots looked really different than others I've seen and the customers there really loved it. Take out takes quite some time because this place is VERY busy!! I ordered online via EAT24 and the estimated wait time was 10-35 minutes. Which is a huge range and I wish they gave me a more accurate estimate?? Anyways, I waited 30 minutes before leaving and got there 40 minutes after I made my order and still had to wait 10 minutes in the restaurant to get my food. Their staff is extremely busy taking calls, getting food for customers and organizing orders for takeout and delivery. There is some seating but not a whole lot. Most are two seat tables so it would probably be better to bring your food home to enjoy. The tables were set very nicely but given that the staff is so busy, you probably won't get any service.

il Sapore Pizzeria OVERALL: 6.4/10 One bite everyone knows the rule. @barstoolpizzareviews FOOD: 6.4/10 The pizza had absolutely NO flop. Very crispy which was good, but no chew/texture. The pizza felt more like a panini than an actual slice. Not enough cheese or sauce. SERVICE: 10/10 The person who took my order was nice. CLEANLINESS: 10/10 Pizzeria style clean. ATMOSPHERE: 10/10 Felt like a pizzeria. WILL I COME AGAIN? Maybe to try their calzones and other food like pasta #pizza #foodphotography #foodie #yelp #italian #nofilter

Chicken Parmesan with Penne a la Vodka

I came here for lunch. The restaurant was empty and they had plenty of seats available. I walked in wanting to get pizza, but after seeing their reasonably-priced lunch special, I decided to try their Chicken Parmesan over Penne. Both the chicken and the pasta was good on it's own, but I don't think that the vodka sauce went with the chicken parmesan. Next time I might just get a regular chicken parmesan with marinara sauce. Their price is very reasonable, and I liked their food, so I'll definitely be back here.

Mold on bread that came with my food

The food was really good but the bread that came with it was moldy. First time this actually happens but still it happened.

Omg! I can't get enough of the chicken empanadas! I live in California and every time I come to New York( every 6 months), I have to not only eat their empanadas but I take some to go! This is my meal on my flights. The crunchy outside, with the airy bite and than you hit the filling and you it's amazing!! The sauce is also my favorite. There pineapple cheese pizza is great. Their dough is just the perfect thickness.

They make Great Hero's of all kinds. I usually go with the Shrimp Parm in Ala Vodka sauce. I also like their Spanish food, the Beef Stew.

I've eaten here/gotten takeout a solid 25 times now. My husband & I LOVE, love, love the riceballs-…read moresoo crunchy, fried to perfection. I also love the caprese salad, it's so fresh and delicious. The prosciutto pizza is amazing, so is the margherita. My husband loves the chicken cutlet entree, it's so crisp, he gets it ever. single. time. Omg and the cannolis are outrageous, the best cannolis. No exaggeration. This is, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced…read more I was really pulling for this place. I wanted it to succeed. I told everyone about it, that it was some of the best pizza in New York. I gave them so many chances. Last night was the final straw. Made a reservation for Friday night at 8PM. We arrived at 8:05. The waitress who's basically always there, who sounds like she smokes about a pack a day, was the only waitress there that night. I felt for her, but also, not my problem. We didn't receive water or a full set of utensils and menu until about 8:15. At about 8:25, she took our order, and we ordered a few apps and calzone and pizza. I had to ask for my coke about 4 times until she remembered to bring it. Water was NEVER refilled. We were never asked if we were ok. Around 8:50, we finally received our apps. It was ok, they've made it better in the past. Ambiance was starting to die down as the restaurant was clearing out. We felt a bit bad for her, but also, this wasn't our fault, that they were unprepared for a Friday night rush (her words). By 9:15, we were furious and our moods were ruined. We sat down at 8:05, ordered before 8:30, we were the only ones left and our pizza and calzone were yet to be found. Shortly before 9:30, it arrived. And again, it was pretty good, but not wait over an hour for it good. I wanted this place to succeed. The pizza maker from Italy deserves a better crew. The waitress doesn't know how to be a waitress, at all. No apologies, not taking anything off the check, not checking on us. There's no busboy, no one dedicated to take out, no manager. It seems that everyone plays each others roles, and quite poorly. They've lost a loyal customer tonight. We will NEVER give this place another try.

**Toskana Pizzeria -- grandma pie excellence, plus legit Neapolitan and Sicilian**…read more Toskana Pizzeria is one of the few neighborhood spots that can pull off *multiple* pizza styles without any of them feeling like an afterthought. If you're the type who actually notices crust structure, bake quality, and balance--not just "is there cheese on it?"--this place earns the five stars. **Grandma pie (the headline act):** This is the standard. The crust has real integrity--crisp edges, that satisfying caramelized corner bite, and a base that stays structured instead of collapsing into a soggy regret. The sauce tastes clean and well-seasoned (not overly sweet), and the cheese-to-sauce ratio is dialed in so each layer is doing its job. **Thin-crust Neapolitan:** Excellent bake and flavor. You get that lighter, more delicate feel with a proper chew, and the toppings don't overwhelm the dough. It's the kind of pizza that tastes "simple" in the good way--because the fundamentals are right. **Sicilian:** A lot of places treat Sicilian like a dense bread block with toppings. Not here. Their Sicilian is actually well-made--airy enough to enjoy, sturdy enough to satisfy, and baked so it has texture instead of being a soft slab. The common thread is consistency: everything feels deliberate, properly baked, and balanced. If you live in the area and you're not ordering from Toskana, you're basically choosing to make your life harder for no reason. Five stars.

Toskana is really close by and after seeing Dave Portnoy's review, I decided to check it out…read more Plain slice: Really solid. Nice cheese pull, good balance of sauce, and probably my favorite of the bunch. It held up well, not floppy at all, with a slight crisp on the bottom. BIG FAN! Chicken broccoli: Just OK. I've had better. The chicken was slightly burnt, which was disappointing. Grandma spinach & artichoke: Pretty good overall. It's similar in style to Artichoke Basille's Pizza, but not as rich or creamy. Margherita: Underwhelming. Nothing really stood out and I've definitely had better elsewhere. That said, I'd still go back just for the plain slice. You really can't go wrong with it. It's a thumbs up for me!
