    Rice ball
    Chrissy E.

I only came here because the other place that was recommended (Martiniellos) was closed. I wasn't sure whether they were open because it was so dimly lit. I walked in and took a brief look at what was in the display case. I ordered Julianna's special hero and a rice ball. I wanted to get a garlic knot but they wouldn't see me just one, I'd have to get three, so I passed. There was a little bit of a wait but finally my food was ready. The rice ball was good but I didn't realize until after I left that sauce is NOT included. Also, this one had meat in it (not a bad thing but again, wasn't aware). The sandwich is where things took a turn. The bread was as hard as a rock, like it's something you'd give someone you don't like! I've had this sandwich before at other places and the one thing those places had that this one didn't was a plethora of sauce. The bread was already tough and dry, the chicken cutlet was burned and there wasn't enough sauce. It was pretty disappointing. Overall, the food was pretty good but you should be ashamed of yourself for serving bread that rough! Seriously, I could have chipped a tooth!

12/10 clearly we enjoyed their pizza -egg plant roll -grandma slice -Hawaiian slice (argue with yo momma)

Clearly 10/10, only reason there was crust left because I was saving room for another slice -grandma slice -eggplant parm roll -Hawaiian slice (argue with yo momma)

My chicken pasta with broccoli and my friend had breaded chicken salad....so filling

Amazing from the beginning to the end. The server was amazing and attentive. Was served fresh warm bread with butter and was served fast enough for the food to be streaming hotttt...and delicious It is too far out for me but when you have a friend you can visit or a car finding parking isn't gonna be easy but eating there is worth it. The music plays but not over powering and its so calm and cozy good for friends and couples. The servings are so filling I was able to take food home. I enjoyed the place and every bite...chef's kisses I will be back soon

    Spaghetti and Meatballs

From the mason jar lights with different pastas and cooking ingredients to the Vegas Rat-pack music this little Italian restaurant had good vibes. We were greeted by the owner upon walking in and he made sure that we were taken care of. They start you off with complimentary bread, which was warm and soft. Mixing it with their in-house olive oil that had rosemary, garlic, and red pepper really set it off. I ordered the fettuccine pesto with chicken. It was delicious, it had the right balance of pesto to noodle to chicken ratio. My wife ordered the spaghetti with meatballs. She said it was delicious, and even let me try it. It was the most succulent meatball I've eaten Portions were huge and priced right, they will even give you a to-go box if you don't finish.

The pepperoni pizza was excellent, fast service and the staff was very knowledgeable. Would recommend and come again. Eat in or Delivery!!

    Carbonara

Great atmosphere and great food to match! I had the carbonara with the pasta freshly made, and better than the pasta I had in Venice two weeks ago. I'm sorry that I don't live here as this would be my go to restaurant. A+ and will certainly see you again when in the area.

Order a sausage and pepper trade with a Coke Zero , been coming here for years but not worth $25 dollars. Sad to say I will not come back again and the lady behind the counter said that she couldn't help me for the price but been charged before $14.00 . Good luck on your business.

Whoever the business developers are, they took this overgrown grassy lot that's been vacant for the last 40 or so odd years and built a multi-business structure from scratch and Seafood M. dove in deep with it. I'll truthfully credit this find to my daughter- who, on her recent Holiday visit staying with Grandma, found this place on a whim. I jumped on it too days later. The first 2 dishes my kid got were the steamed AND seasoned Crab Legs+veggies and a steamed shrimp platter for my mom. According to her, my kid devoured the crab legs- which were perfectly steamed without making the shells soft. And my Mom's steamed Shrimp platter had a considerable amount of plump shrimp with a light seasoning that didn't overpower the seafood. On my recent trip though, I picked up the 3 piece Catfish-only meal and the 4 piece Whiting (the owner actually threw in like one or two pieces in there- thank you!). Both delicious. I may not be Southern, but I know a good dredge on fried fish when I see it and taste it. Renée(sp?) the owner- uses a fantastic and light that holds its own and doesn't crack into dust. The space may seem untidy- so don't come here for looks. Just come for the food. But, Renée has a great thing going and at 3 years strong, she's creating a sense of community and flare when Soundview never had a stand-alone fried fish/fish market spot. Wishing you much more success.

It's a little overwhelming because there is definitely a lot of seafood to choose from. The fish selection looks fresh but they do have some previously frozen seafood like large prawns and lobster tails. They have the names of everything and the price per pound posted which can be a little intimidating because it's a bit expensive. We ordered a grilled branzino and asked for the large tiger shrimp. The staff behind the counter said it would be the ones without the head but when long at the sign, it said head on tiger shrimp so I was a little confused but we just went with it because we assumed the staff knew what they were talking about. We did also get the head-on large prawns. We asked for everything to be grilled and confirmed that they don't use butter or cheese or cream on anything and then we went upstairs to get a table. Upstairs by the window is nice because you can people watch on a good day. We asked the staff member if there were any butter or cream or cheese in the mezza or rice and she said no, so we proceeded to order those and also asked about the soup of the day. She told us it was a shrimp and corn soup and that sounded good so we ordered that as well. The mezza came and the babaganoush and moussaka were good. The lemon potatos were fine but other places have made it better. The tahini was tahini and nothing special. The soup came and we took a sip and it tasted like cream so we were confused because the staff member didn't mention cream when she was taking about it. We asked about it when another staff member came by to drop off the rice. The original staff member who helped us came back over and we asked her if there was cream in the soup. She told us that yes because it's a chowder and the chowder has dairy and told us that we ordered the soup. I'm not denying that we ordered it. My issue is that we specifically asked about avoiding dairy in other food menu items and she didn't even stop to mention that hey the soup of the day that you want is a shrimp and corn chowder and has dairy. She took it back but I felt like we were inconveniencing her because of her tone. The mains arrived shortly after. The head-on prawns came and then the branzino. The large head-on prawns were overcooked and a little rubbery. The branzino was a touch too lemony but that was probably my fault for squeezing lemon over it. The fish was firm and smooth. There wasn't a lot of flavor on either dish. By this time, our table is pretty full and one of the staff members came by with the tiger shrimp and he more or less just stared at the full table and then plopped the plate down right next to my husband's phone. We barely even had time to move plates around to clean up space for him, but I feel like they should have definitely looked a little harder because one of our plates was just full of bones and shells and could have been taken away which would have made room for the shrimp. They were also over cooked and rubbery. Throughout our meal, no one came to check on us once. At the end of the meal, I used my own hand sanitizing wipes and was a little puzzled that they don't give any to customers. We got the bill and were a little peeved that they charged us $3 to butterfly the branzino. We weren't told about that and we didn't particularly ask for them to butterfly it. There's individual hand wipes by the stairs and it's odd that staff don't bring them to you once you're ready to pay. Are customers expected to walk around with dirty hands to go grab the wipe by the stairs? It's definitely a one time experience and overall, I wouldn't recommend it for the poor service and seafood being overcooked and underwhelming.

There are some dedicated parking spaces that have a three hour limit if dining. Upon arrival, I entered the inside restaurant space for Dakota's on the Grove. It was aesthetically pleasing. I should have sat inside here instead of in their outdoor space which they call The Grove at Dakota's. I was able to choose where I wanted to sit, so I chose a table near this shed where the bartender/waiter was. I noticed they were setting up for the Knicks Game 3 final and there were two large TVs and a projection screen. I overheard the waiter state that the area would be packed for the game tonight. There was also good music playing throughout. They had a large connect four, which would be nice to play. They are family friendly and had high chairs for babies and toddlers. When sitting outside they state that they have to preauthorize your card. Now getting onto the food. I was seated and provided with two menus. I immediately asked for a happy hour menu and then I waited for about 15 minutes, until I followed up with another waiter who brought out the menu for me. For the happy hour menu before I received my food I initially thought the prices were good, but upon receiving my food it was evident that the prices are off in terms of the portion size of the food. I ordered a $5 slider. I thought it would be a decent size. It was incredibly small. For the $5 price they should give at minimum 2 sliders but ideally 3. This would incentivize people to buy more. The slider was the best thing I tasted while there and I would have liked more but I couldn't justify spending another $5 when it was so tiny. The tiny slider appeared to be the portion size for a toddler. I ordered calamari which was $9. I was initially disappointed that there was such a small amount. I was even more disappointed when I tasted them. They tasted very "fishy." They absolutely needed a squeeze of lemon and fresh cracked black pepper to try and balance and mask the taste. I believe the portion size for the fries was also off for $5. The fries came in a teacup. Fries are something that people tend to order to have something to pick at while dining and it would make sense I think to provide more fries for the same price. I also could not justify getting another set of fries in a small teacup for $5. I did not like the taste of the fries. When the sparse calamari, tiny beef slider, and small teacup of fries came out, I realized I would not be full and ordered chicken wings from the happy hour menu. You have to get a minimum of 6. You cannot mix the flavors. They were out of the dockside fire sauce so I went with the garlic parm. These wings did not taste like garlic parm. The garlic parm seemed like an afterthought, which was just sprinkled on the wings at the very end. The chicken itself did not have much flavor. They did not mention providing any dipping sauce. I asked for blue cheese and I had to wait for about ten minutes and then remind another waiter that I was still waiting for my blue cheese. They were out of the mozzarella sticks. Moving onto the drinks. While I get being outside and maybe wanting to serve drinks in plastic to minimize glassware breaking, I did not enjoy being served Pinot Noir in a plastic cup or the white cranberry lemon drop in a plastic cup. Each time I was taken aback that they weren't offered in glassware. I got the $7 Pinot Noir from the happy hour menu. A regular glass of Pinot Noir is $9. I also ordered the white cranberry lemon drop which is priced at $12 and is not included on the happy hour menu. The drink came out in the same sized small plastic cup as the Pinot Noir. I think once again that glassware should be used. When ordering a lemon drop you tend to expect a chilled frosty glass with a sugar rim, and that was not what I received here. I think the sugar rim would have elevated the taste profile of the drink. All in all, I really liked the outdoor area. I would probably only return to get a canned beer in the outside section. I hope they start to carry some sour beer options. I do not see myself trying the food again, with the exception of a burger (since the burger was really good.) I did have an inquiry regarding the pre-authorization charge and the final charge that I saw on my credit card. I called and left a message and the restaurant got back to me quickly, which I really appreciated.

It was time for us Bronxites to have a catch-up session filled with laughs, good conversation and all the latest life updates. Turns out, it was absolutely worth it. We kicked things off with appetizers: mussels in a delicious wine+garlic sauce, a mixed greens salad with the creamiest+silky whipped feta dressing which was layered on the bottom and a tuna tartare served with crisp little breads that made every bite hit just right. The first round of drinks were nice. My Bellini wasn't made with the traditional peach purée and instead, they used like a peach liqueur. But honestly? It was still banging. Actually, it definitely had me feeling woozy. We were still hungry and decided to share the linguine with clams and the fish and chips. Thankfully, the fish portion was generous- but the chips? Way too skimpy for all that fish. The linguine with clams was delicious, but for $24, the portion was small with like only 6 tiny clams. Round two of cocktails and wine arrived and let's just say they hit real good. Service was incredible from start to finish- attentive in every sense of the word without hovering. The restaurant itself has an airy feel and is right on the water, making our lunch feel relaxed and nice for lingering over drinks and chit-chat.
