At $4.50 each, I was just expecting them to be a bit bigger. Another small detail -- I ordered kids' meals for my two little ones, which came with two carne asada tacos, beans, and rice. When we sat down to eat, we noticed both plates had double beans and no rice. One of my kids loves Spanish rice and doesn't care much for beans, so that was a little disappointing. It would've been great if someone had just mentioned they were out of rice so we weren't surprised. A quick heads-up goes a long way! Three times now we have tried to go to them for dinner in our area when they've posted times on social media, but they often leave early without posting that they'll shorten their hours for the day. When we asked about this tonight after missing them again, we got a simple reply about a slow evening without giving us any incentive to come back and try them again. Their portions seem a bit smaller than other competing food trucks that stop in the same area, and the prices are a bit higher. We wouldn't mind giving them another shot, but not in the near future.

The fun part of this experience was they also offered free tastes of some of their baked goods. This time we got brownie bites, and the guy behind me in line offered me his free pumpkin cheesecake muffin. I also succumbed to buying one of their lemon bars, large enough to fill the entire bottom of the to-go container. They have just a few small tables (with umbrellas) set up on the sidewalk. Even while he was clearly in his element as an artist in the kitchen, he made us feel welcome to hang out, chat, and even share his playlist since we were loving the music. And the food... it was beautiful and, most of all, delicious. Even my 90-year-old grandma, who is very particular, went back for seconds. That never happens.
