The owner sat there and talked with us, the chef talked with us, they gave us insider info into the history of the place since we were from Fresno. Spending the weekend in the city with the hubs and this place was recommended to us by a cousin. We are so happy we came because even though this is a speak easy, they not only have great drinks, the food is amazing. The staff here is so nice and they are super accommodating. When not so busy, they take the time come and chat. This bar is small but cozy and perfect for dates. I love how it feels so comfortable to come in and it feels safe. We had a few different kinds of food...here is what we had: The Executive Ground Dawg: burger in a toasted brioche bun, toasted, juicy patty with Flykick truffle chili sauce, crumbles feta, savory sauteed mushrooms, and a bit of spicy Sriracha ketchup. I have to say, as soon as this hits your palate, the flavors just are ahhhhmazing. We could not get enough of it! Chicken wings with Flykick sauce: this was also really good. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. No added breading just all chicken wings and flavor. Sauteed crab fingers: suggested by one of the owners, this was absolutely perfect. I was worried I may have to crack crab shells but they are exactly as described. Crab fingers (claw parts) that have the meat ready to eat and a Cajun garlic butter sauce that would blow your mind. Chicken croquettes: golden balls of deliciousness...so gooooood, make sure to use pair with the sauce that is on the plate, you will not be disappointed. We had some fries and popcorn too which were both good. My drink of choice is the Lychee Caaipirinha, but it is a monthly drink selection so it changes.. their regular drinks are also very good. TL;DR: 3 star drinks, 4 star service, cute place near Chinatown. Would return just for the service. I walked by this place once on my way somewhere else, and made a note to come back since it looked cute. We made it back on a Friday evening and they were having a party for their anniversary but were super welcoming and told us to stay anyway. The service here is great - the bartender Mike was really friendly and genuine, and we met the owners as well. Since they were having a party, we didn't get to try much of their menu so we focused on the drinks. The cocktails are mostly their versions of classic cocktails with a scattering of originals. They're generally in the $16-22 range which is typical for SF. The drinks were pretty good, very refreshing and relatively strong. There are a lot of really great bars in SF though, so it's hard to stand out if you aren't excellent. I liked the Pink Lady which had apple liquor in it and I'm on a calvados cocktail thing recently so it hit the spot. The bartender noticed we were sharing the drinks and split future orders into smaller portions for us to share more easily. That was really nice of him I hope they expand the drink menu in the future, and wish them more success! read more

So it's been a while since I've been back due to the remodeling and new chef. I can say, they did a great job. Their ambiance is so relaxing and chill. It's like you're warped in the past to a speak easy kinda vibe. Of course host, service and bartender are awesome as always so I'm glad that didn't change. The place isn't big so it's good to get there early. Now onto the food. It is also really good with a new yummy menu. I've been back a few times and to their grand opening so the menu does change. I'm glade they kept the fries, burger, scallop sashimi and cauliflower. All my favorite! Must get is their fries! It tastes like high end McDonald fries...so super good! Oh! The bartender and I think owner was very knowledgeable and we even geeked out talking about cocktail lore. The place was perfect, nondescript entrance and very cozy inside with plenty to look at. All in all it made for a very comfortable and enlightened experience. The real star being the amazing cocktails. All of the cocktails on the menu looked good. I had a lychee tequila cocktail that was great but the mezcal margarita was the best in show. It turns out Patrick is known for and delivers a top shelf margarita despite being super modest about it. Alcoholic drinks are cheap wells with no clear option to upgrade. Heavy use of TVs as menus detracts from the ambiance and distracts the eye; I fail to see the benefit over paper. I think this place wants to be a sports bar with good munchies and a full bar setup but ends up being a restaurant confused about its purpose. All that said, the food was really tasty, and I hope the talented chef continues to build on his creative menu.
