Came to Epic Steak to celebrate my brother graduating from SFSU and had a great time! If you're looking for a place to celebrate with great views, service and food, this is a great option! We had 8:45 reservations, but the ceremony ended earlier than we anticipated and we messaged them asking if we could move up our reservation and they did it with no problem! The only caveat was we had to be seated outdoors, but we didn't mind because we had a great view of the bridge, and the heat lamps kept us pretty warm for the whole night. From start to finish, the service was excellent! Our server, Francisco I believe was his name, was great and made sure to highlight my brothers graduation! The menu's had a congratulations print on it, and they gave him a note signed by the staff congratulating him on his graduation, which was such an awesome touch! He checked on us throughout our whole dinner and made sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying everything. He was attentive to the smallest details, like re-folding our napkins after getting up to use the restroom. He definitely made the already great experience here fantastic! After a long ceremony, we came hungry! We ordered a bunch of apps, but the standout was the beef tartare. It had great flavor and paired wonderfully with the potato chips. I went with the steak frites, and it was great! I asked for my steak medium, and it was cooked great. I enjoyed my fries, but felt they could've been cooked a but longer but that might just be my preference. They had a steak and chimichurri sauce with the steak, and the chimichurri was excellent! They also had black, pink and regular sea salt, and the black salt was amazing. It really elevated the steak, and paired with the chimichurri sauce was chefs kiss. We had to leave room for dessert, and we got almost one of each. The banana bread pudding was great! It wasn't too sweet, and had a great caramelized sauce. The bruleed banana was great addition and paired nicely with the ice cream. They gave my brother complimentary dessert of his choice, and also brought out a dried strawberry kiwi fruit brick thing that we didn't order, but appreciated trying! The good, the bad, and the tough. Let's start with the good, because unfortunately there isn't much of it when it comes to the food. Nice views and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We were here for a bday celebration and left extremely disappointed. The Tomahawk steak was so tough, chewy, and full of gristle that we had to send it back. To their credit, the kitchen staff actually tried it and agreed there was an issue (as reflected on the bill). We then ordered the Porterhouse as a replacement, but it wasn't much better and was overcooked and flavorless. Honestly, I've made better steaks from Costco in my air fryer--no joke. The fries were also disappointing. At $16, the portion was about the size of a small McDonald's order. The only truly standout food item was the Caesar salad. The complimentary birthday dessert, the Epic Sundae, was underwhelming as well: soft-serve ice cream (again like at McDonalds) over a stale brownie. For a restaurant at this price point, we expected much more. What was most surprising was that the manager never stopped by the table to acknowledge the issue with the Tomahawk or offer any explanation. A simple conversation would have gone a long way. Between the poor quality of the steaks, small portions, and lack of management follow-up = cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. To be honest and forthright: I was here for a private event. I have not dined here in any regular sense. The event included passed hors d'oeuvres and a really nice PuPu buffet. Nice charcuterie, fruits, veggies...and best of all a gigantic bed of ice with oysters shrimp poke and ceviche. Everything was delicious...although no one on the mainland makes super great poke. It's not for the faint of heart because it is a steak house on the Waterfront. So know that. We got quite a few items and I'm not even sure all of them since i didn't do the ordering. We ordered and shared everything. As for appetizers, the shrimps were good but my favorite was the crab cakes. Delicious. Small for the price and you get 2 only. The steaks were great and we actually did a 2nd round since with 8 people, it wasn't enough. As for the sides, I really enjoyed the mushrooms and mac & cheese. The Julia Childs potatoes I thought was just ok. For dessert we got like 2 of each of the first 3 or so, can't even remember. My favorites were the tiramisu and just the soft serve. Giving this place five stars just because of how good of a deal the happy hour is! Everything we ordered was so delicious. We got the crabcakes Wagyu cheeseburger bucket of fried chicken and everything exceeded my expectations, especially for the price! The bucket of fried chicken is literally a bucket for only $10, and the Wagyu cheeseburger was also so good and flavorful. Vibes are so cute! You get a great view of the bay bridge sitting outside, especially at night when it lights up. They have heaters and blankets so you don't get cold. Great place for date night. The service was pretty good. The waiter was attentive and food came out at a reasonable time. We did have to remind them a couple times about bringing out the sauces for the steak. I really enjoyed "The best damn fillet". Got it medium rare. The chimichurri sauce paired so well with it. The oysters were pretty good but got some rocks in it. We had a 4:45 reservation and I'll admit I was slightly panicked when GPS showed we were only 2 miles away but somehow 41 minutes out. I knew the restaurant had a 15-minute grace period and we were cutting it close, so I called. The person who answered was incredibly kind and reassuring and told us not to worry. That immediately set the tone. Once we arrived (after finally finding parking), every single staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was knowledgeable, personable, and made us feel completely at home. He explained the menu clearly and gave us just the right amount of space to enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed. We ordered the New York strip, ribeye, crab cakes, mushrooms, wedge salad, potato purée, Old Fashioneds, and I tried two wines -- plus of course the bread and butter. Everything was phenomenal. The crab cakes were absolutely delicious -- flavorful, well-balanced, and not overly heavy. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly -- even the fat was delicious (no shame ). The potato purée was so smooth it almost tasted chowder-like. The mushrooms were rich and flavorful. The salad was fresh and balanced. And dessert? Perfectly sweet -- not overpowering, not bland, just right. When we finished dinner, they boxed up our leftover steak for us and then placed the to-go bag on a small stand next to our table while we enjoyed dessert. Such a thoughtful touch. As the best-man of the upcoming groom, I was tasked with organizing a low-key bachelor party in San Francisco. After catching a Golden State Warriors game, I knew the crew would be hungry. About 30 days before the event, EPIC Steak opens up their reservation books. I was able to book a nice table for five at 9:00PM on a Saturday evening all through the app Open Table. The game finished a bit earlier than expected so we found ourselves at the restaurant early. No worries, the host checked us in and seated us immediately. That was nice. The restaurant is very elegant- everything from the décor, table configuration, music and overall vibe. Upon entering, you can feel that you're at a nice place. Our table was ready for us in a cozy and comfy rounded booth. A very nice touch was the menu's had a congratulatory message for the bachelor as well a card for the bachelor. That is amazing attention to detail and a great way to make this event even more special. The bachelor really appreciated those touches. The best part of the evening was two-fold; our service and the food. Let's start with the service: I would put our server in the Top3 servers I have ever encountered. I eat out quite a bit and he impressed me to no end. He was friendly, fun, efficient, straight forward and overall on top of the game. He understood what we wanted & needed, made excellent recommendations and just kept the flow going. And he was able to do all of this while helping other patrons. We felt the service time, accuracy and attention was perfect. Drinks & appetizers came out in a timely fashion. Our waters were never empty. The small talk was perfect without being over bearing or intrusive. We were given warm departure messages by our server and the host at the front desk. Excellent. The food was just as impressive. We had the oysters, bread & butter and beef tartar which was plenty for a group of five. We all ordered a variety of steaks and each steak was cooked to perfection. For sides, we went with the Yukon potatoes, brussels sprouts and carrots. I will say 3 sides is the perfect amount for a group of five. If you're extra hungry, one more side would work. The dessert menu looked good with a variety of ice creams and cakes, but we all opted for espressos and cappuccinos. A small plate with four bite-sized pieces of cake were provided complimentary with a 'Congratulations' chocolate piece at the center- how cool. Overall, a 5/5 Star experience. Here is a late review. My friends came here in January 2026. We had girls night, the day after New Year's Day. It was raining on this day. The ambiance was beautiful, cozy and warm. This place absolutely lives up to its name. I ordered the 28-day porterhouse (per a recommendation I received), and it was to die for -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and honestly one of the best steaks I've had. My husband went big with the 40-day aged tomahawk, and he loved every bite. We also added a full lobster as an add-on, which made the meal feel even more luxurious. The sides were outstanding -- especially the Julia Child potatoes and the mushrooms. We started with two glasses of red wine and their burrata appetizer with tomatoes, which was so fresh and delicious. What really made the night special was the birthday attention. They surprised me with a handwritten birthday card signed by (what seemed like) most of the staff -- such a sweet touch -- and they also brought out a complimentary birthday dessert. Last night we ate here for dinner and had a wonderful experience from beginning to end! The staff here is incredibly warm to guests and we were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves here. The view of the bay bridge is amazing from inside the restaurant, but you really need to be up against the wall to have the best view of it from inside. For the most unobstructed view, I would suggest sitting outside. Also, I would say that the ambient noise inside the restaurant wasn't too much to deal with, and that I was able to have a conversation with my husband without difficulty. The dinner was incredible. We had a medium-rare tomahawk, which was cooked perfectly. Lately, many restaurants haven't cooked our steaks the way we like them, but Epic nailed it. We also tried the lobster (very tender), Julia child potatoes (yum!) and the Mac and cheese, and which had a lot more depth than I'd expected. Our server, Joesph, made sure from beginning to end that we were taken care of! He helped us make choices about the menu, helped me with my coat and brought a rack for my purse. Not so "Epic" birthday meal! Wife surprised me and brought me to Epic for one of my birthday meals and I would tell anyone I care for to not waste your time or money. Here's why. Unfortunately that's where it ends. We ordered shrimp cocktail and biscuits for appetizers. Shrimp cocktail was $28 and biscuits $9. Neither worth half their price. Shrimp came out with a yellow/grey tone to them, room temp even though they're served on ice. Rather odd sensation. Strong "fishy" taste to them and would not get again. The biscuits were somehow worse. Super dry, small and lacked any character in flavor. I've honestly had better biscuits at a gas station in Arkansas. On to the main course. It gets better right? Dare I say Epic? Sorry to let you down but it got worse. As cost starts to climb as I ordered the ribeye and wife ordered the filet. Which mind you on their menu states "best damn filet". The filet was not the best damn filet. While it was prepared close to requested of medium rare, the flavor was off. They added what we best described as an artificial smoke flavor. My ribeye was ordered medium rare and was easily served at medium well. Flavor was ok for a piece of meat that was 3 minutes away from being beef jerky. Now for the side dishes, we ordered the broccolini and their famous scalloped potatoes. We could barely consume the broccolini due to this garlic confit of sorts that was slopped on top. Intensely overwhelming. The potatoes were just ok. Certainly nothing to write home about. Our server was one of those that bordered arrogance and nonchalance that might work for a small amount of people. We weren't them. Oddly our steaks came out very quick after we ordered and the free sundae for my birthday too my far the longest to come out. Of course it could have been because we were dying to get out at this point. If the meal is free, consider it. We came here for Happy Hour and it was an amazing experience! First of all the views are unreal, right by the water and offers a classy but fun vibe. It's also a heated patio so feels very cozy and comfortable when the evening gets chilly. We got the spritzes which were so yummy and refreshing, and a martini which went down surprisingly smooth! For bites we did the truffle-parm fries and the bucket of fried chicken - they were both amazing quality and taste, and great presentation. We questioned what that meant but it was a full 750ml bottle! And steak frites with a glass of wine for $45! We came here for birthday brunch with a party of 6. On a gorgeous September (SF summer) day, all of the brunch seating was outside on the patio. Our server was super nice and really took care of us throughout the whole meal. I'm a sucker for biscuits and these were nice and flaky. The crab cake benedict was poached eggs straight on the crab cake, no english muffin or bread. I chose the shrimp salad, and it was absolutely amazing. The shrimp were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the salad was crisp and well balanced with a delicious dressing. Been here twice now for brunch and for lunch. Brunch: Caviar Bellini: $24 Baby iceberg wedge salad $16 6 oz filet: $55 9 oz filet: $63 Julia: $14 (mashed potatoes) The food was all seasoned well. And staff was so attentive we didn't have to ask for much. The ambiance was nice and I've heard it looks even better with the bridge lit up at night Went back again for lunch/a birthday and we had: *Calamari *New York *6oz Filet *Potato Puree *Mushrooms *Bearnaise *Chocolate Cake And it was all so great in flavor again. My filet was cooked more than what I asked for and staff was very accommodating on correcting it and apologetic. We went for a birthday and didn't expect for staff to give them a birthday card and competed a dessert for them. We had a great time both times. This is def a place that can be pricy but worth it for a nice night out. I'd give this a 4/5 but with their customer service and both experiences they get the extra star. read more

I can't believe we haven't tried this place sooner! Exceptional service from start to finish. The staff here are so attentive and anticipate everything you need. We literally didn't have to ask for a single thing! The food was insanely good! We ordered the ribeye medium rare (shared) and they cut it evenly in half for us. Such a good flavorful cut that it didn't need much but the added truffle butter was to die for. Also comes with complimentary chimichurri sauce! For sides we got the truffle Mac and cheese and the mash potatoes puree. My goodness these were so good!! Probably the best sides I've had at a steakhouse! We had an amazing time here and the food was top notch. One of the best steakhouses in San Francisco in my opinion! Incredible food and views! This is a great to share a bunch of apps and some drinks with friends or celebrate a special occasion and get one of their expertly cooked steaks! Recommend sitting outside if you can, they have lots of heaters and blankets upon request! You have to order the garlic shrimp, as it's one of the best dishes I've ever had. We went here for an anniversary dinner. My bf made the reservation and told them it's for our anniversary so they gave us extra items for celebrating in their establishment. The gesture was very sweet. They gave us celebratory sparkling wines, a letter signed by the staff, and little cute chocolate signs on the dessert. The food was good, service was great and welcoming, and the view is wonderful. We are going to make this a tradition and go here every time we celebrate our anniversary. We had our wedding day dinner at EPIC Steak and it ended up being such a great call. Mika took care of us and honestly made the whole night. The steak frites were exactly what you want--perfectly cooked, super flavorful. Oysters were fresh, clean, and a great way to start. The red velvet roumalade was something different but in a good way--we kept going back to it. And the truffle fries were ridiculous...crispy, rich, and basically impossible to stop eating. The steaks are cooked perfectly and every side dish is so good it borders on unfair. Do not sleep on the Julia Childs potatoes. They might be the star of the entire menu. Creative cocktails, excellent food, and a truly amazing view make this one of the best spots for a memorable night out. It is not cheap, but it is worth every penny. I also have to call out Barry at the host stand. He is a friend, so I know firsthand how much pride he takes in welcoming people and setting the tone for the evening. Amazing food and ambience! We sat right next to the window which had an amazing view. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were top notch! Only thing that was slightly disappointing was the way that the service was very bland to our table (two top) and very talkative and attentive to the tables around us. We definitely noticed the difference with the way he was talking to them compared to us. Maybe it could've been the stereotype of a young-looking couple but it was disappointing to notice :( our bread and butter also never came which we ordered as an appetizer but overall great food! read more

Decided to end our trip and birthday week in San Francisco here with dinner! Weirdly enough we love seafood and find this has a better offering and better experience than its sister - Waterbar - next door! We had originally requested outside but it was chilly so we were offered a great table inside with beautiful bay views. We had a lovely server though I think she was a little stretched between tables as we did have some small hiccups but she was really lovely and helpful throughout ! Began with a dozen oysters then had lots of their smaller dishes - Burrata - fantastic; shrimp - best dish of the night as it's served over soft warm bread covered in a scampi like sauce, calamari, poke and truffle fries - they forgot the fries then gave us 2 with one being complimentary though it was not needed but a nice gesture none the less! The other snafu was that my daughter asked for steak and fries to be served at the same time but 3/4 way in we had to request them as it did not show up at the same time as ours as we requested! Enjoyed some great cocktails and a birthday dessert which was a nice way to end! Only issue with night was within 30 minutes of leaving, my oldest got violently sick and is still sick the next day at the time of writing but we did order oysters and unfortunately the risk was ours!!
