The scope of work was well priced and Cory was responsive and empathetic to our needs. The project was completed within two weeks and his team was very thorough with explaining the work and providing before and after pictures. Fabulous experience, customer service above and beyond my expectations. Called a few roofers and Greg from RNR roofing responded right away. Set up an appointment and came out and gave me a quote. Set the date, told me Mon. and Tue. they would tear off old roof and Thur. and Fri. they would roof the house. Crew showed up and worked all day (a rarity up here on the mountain.) Completed work as promised. Crews cleaned up after themselves, used a magnet multiple times to pick up any nails on the ground. I am very satisfied with the work and company. The entire experience has been a disaster. the solar was installed a couple months after the install date. Then during the install, the installed conduct lines through the exterior of the house and ruined all the new paint I had done, they left roof tile behind the chimney and I had to ask them multiple times to bring those down which took months for them to come back. Then a year later, I didn't know this but with Edison they set you up on an annual bill plan. after my annual bill came in, it said I owed $1500. that because the solar company didn't properly setup emphase to link with Edison, so I have been generating solar all this time and none of it went to Edison. I have tried to speak with Gregg Miller the owner about it, and he said he would schedule a call and then he doesn't call me and keeps ignoring. I'm having my attorning file a lawsuit on this. stay away. This company does not pay attention to detail. I can go on with the mistakes that were made during this entire process. read more

Had RNR Roofing do my roof replacement, and the end result looks great both functionally (to keep the water out) and cosmetically - roof-line smooth and even, shingle lines all matching up across panels, valleys straight, etc... They were a little more expensive, but I also added on some things that probably wouldn't be on a standard roof. And the warranty they give is better than standard since they have a higher cert from Certainteed. I financed through the Hero program, which has its pros and cons, but I didn't have many options for financing - one room in remodel mode inside, so no chance to get an appraisal for a home equity loan until that's finished up. So the Hero program worked for me to help get the roof done first. Update on 7/30/2017 Had a rafter tail that I thought should have been handled during the roof and fascia board replace. Emailed Gregg about it. In a way I was expecting a 'not our problem' kind of response. Not sure why I was expecting that -probably just past experience on this kind of thing. No worries, and the fascia board guy was out the next week to get it all better. I would suggest with any roof re-do, take a half a day to make the rounds on your house and look for problems. Then point them out during the roof re-do inspection It's an expensive project, take some time to understand it and get it all done on the first go around. read more

We got a new clay tile roof and solar from RNR, and we couldn't be happier having chosen RNR for this huge undertaking. The owner, Gregg, was super responsive from the initial quote all the way through the entire project. I dare say he's one of the best contractors we have ever worked with, and we have done A LOT of projects over the last 5 years. He explained the entire process to us, answered all our questions, kept us informed on the progress, and even let my kids take a turn flying his drone (which he used to take some aerial photos of our roof). We have a Victorian home with very steeply pitched roof lines and it had vinyl siding. Many roofing contractors would not even entertain doing the roofing job due to the difficulty of the work. Gregg Miller and RNR Roofing coordinated the roofing job. He also coordinated subcontractors to replace all of the house siding with cedar siding and then had the house painted Victorian style. Doing the entire job was time consuming but it was done with precision. All of the workers were meticulously neat, cleaned up their mess and had great attitudes. I'm not a regular Yelp contributor; I make time to write only when I've experienced service that is extraordinary ... one way or the other. I'm happy to say that the work done on our home by RNR Roofing was of the highest caliber from start to finish. I write with unalloyed praise, and to recommend the company in the warmest terms. Our house dates to 1908; it's a Craftsman, and it has a lot of roof. RNR was recommended to me by Rodney of R&K Roofing, who no longer takes on work on rooves as steeply pitched as ours but whose judgment I implicitly trust. RNR entirely justified this trust. From the first, their communications with me were clear, regular and timely, and I felt confident about cost and likely timeframe and schedule. We had not originally planned to replace the old asphalt roof with cedar shingles, and Gregg Miller, the proprietor, did not offer a hard sell. However, his projection of the difference in cost between cedar and asphalt composition shingles was borne out by a further bid for the latter. As he predicted, the ancillary expenses that would have been required for a new asphalt roof added up to something frighteningly close to the cost of cedar. Without pressure, Gregg pointed out that the house was designed to carry a cedar roof, and the conversion to asphalt, presumably made originally in the 1960s or 1970s, had necessitated the liberal use of mastic all around the edge of the dormer windows and porte-cochere. As the heavy rains in 2020 proved, this mastic had become a damp trap. Furthermore, the composition roof requires a plywood base, and Gregg noted that this was holding the heat in, turning the upstairs into a sauna during the summer. He assured me that the house would cool much more quickly with a cedar roof, and this has been fully borne out. (In fact, I specifically waited to post this review until we'd had our first run of temperatures over 100º in 2021.) The difference between my experience this summer and last has been night-and-day. Once we'd decided to opt for the cedar roof, there were scheduling delays because of covid-related problems with the shipping of materials from Canada. While this was beyond RNR's control, Gregg kept me regularly apprised of progress. When a start date could finally be fixed, we had a delay at our end: evidence of termite damage in the porte-cochere meant that we had to have the house tented. I braced to be told that there would be a long delay with RNR as we were bumped down the queue. I couldn't have been more wrong: the new date was only a couple of weeks after the one originally agreed. If I had one minor complaint about the whole process it would be that the subcontractor who tore off the old roof took less care with our property than I'd have liked. However, when I mentioned this to Gregg and his project manager I was immediately reassured that any damage resulting from this process would be fixed at no charge to us. Again, Gregg was as good as his word. The gutters at the front of the house were entirely renewed once all other work was done, and the surrounding area repainted. The extent and quality of this repair work exceeded my hopes, even though I'd by this time come to expect the very best from RNR. The crew led by Antonio who put on the new roof were just a delight to have on the premises. Noise and constant activity are never easy to bear when one is in the home all day (my spouse and I were still working remotely in March, when the job was done), but RNR made it as tolerable as it could be. There was no unnecessary noise on top of the sounds of the equipment, and at the end of each day the yard was left pristine. The beautiful completed roof attests the high level of skill and care that these craftsmen exhibited throughout their time with us. In short, this has been hands-down one of the most positive experiences I've ever had with work done on a house. I cannot thank Gregg and his team enough. read more

I lucked into finding RNR roofing to replace the roof our Queen Anne! I had expected to put a composite shingle roof of some sort on the house and got several good quotes to go that route, but Gregg suggested that we put a treated cedar shingle roof on the house. Gregg explained a cedar shingle roof would keep the house cooler because wood transfers heat less than asphalt and because the installation on skip sheathing allows the house to breathe. With today's fire resistance treatment, cedar shingle roofs are projected to last 30 years. It was big job (there were already three layers), but the tear-off crew led by Andrew got it done very neatly and cleaned up beautifully. Then Gregg's crew led by Antonio climbed up on our steep roof and installed a beautiful shingle roof and the inside temperature is definitely cooler. Thank you Gregg, for staying abreast of new developments in cedar shingles and taking the time to understand how to restore historical houses to keep them cool and looking good! I will NOT be using this company. Didn't even go up on our roof to make sure that the leak was truly from needing a new roof. The rep assured me 100% we needed to replace. The quotes were outrageous. Got a second opinion and it was a simple repair that was only $350?! Very frustrated and upset with myself that I almost went with RNR and spent 15k on something I didn't need at the moment. I do need a new roof in the next few years but because this other roofer gave me the confidence and assurance and not just trying to "sell" me, I will be going with them when that time comes. read more

First point - RNR has a handful of 1 star and 2 star reviews (READ THEM HERE - not one of them used his services!!) EVERY review from a customer who paid for the services of RNR is 5 stars, including mine (9 of 9 are 5 Star ratings from actual customer reviews). I needed a new roof, and got 4 estimates. Gregg was not the cheapest, but he was very professional, confident, patient, and thorough in explaining the work he would perform. He was also very accommodating and open in regards to options such as the material used, color options of roofing material, and custom painting of the metal drip edge to match our house. He communicated often, and clearly, as due to the rains in January/February we had to schedule in between storms with a tight time-frame after some weather related delays. His crew wound up spending an extra day in stripping the old roof due to the fact that my old roof had been unusually applied with a triple-whammy of hot-mop tar, tar paper, and shingles. I saw what they had to deal with and it was a lot of work due to the hot-mop tar. I paid for this extra day of stripping labor, and that is fair since it was not visible or known at the time of estimate, and his crew doesn't work an extra day for free. None of the 4 estimates would have covered that additional fee. We did not get a new roof for aesthetic reasons, as we just had a 30 yr old roof that needed replacing. However, if I would have known how good it would look afterwards, I would have done it sooner - It looks fantastic and we get lots of compliments from our neighbors. Our roof was looking pretty frayed at the edges of the shingles so I knew it would need to be replaced at some point. Gregg the owner came out and talked with us about roofing materials and funding. He explained everything throughly and was very patient with us. We ultimately decided to go with RNR Roofing because he was willing to sit down and explain everything and help with the process. The work his works did was excellent, our roof looks great. We did have a couple snags with the workers and our rain diverter that Gregg was more than happy to fix for us. He arranged for a gutter install for the front of the house after our rain diverter was forgotten. He definitely takes pride in his company and goes the extra mile to make sure things are right. This company put a flier on my door advertising their company. I gave them a call to schedule an appt for a repair estimate. The man on the phone immediatley tried telling me I should replace my roof without ever seeing it. I told him we are not replacing our roof but would like an estimate on a repair. He said he would call and come the next day. No call no visit. Shocker since he wanted me to buy a new roof right off the bat. So if your going to come to my house to advertise your business I suggest that you do the follow up when a potential customer calls you. read more

These people are incessant about getting your business. They will hunt you down at no end. Even driving out to knock on your door on a weekend. They will not take no for an answer. My wife unknowingly saw them soliciting in our neighborhood and gave them our number. They left a message every single day bugging us to come by for an estimate. The guy claimed that they don't need to come out to measure. They use Google Maps or something to measure out the square footage instead of sending someone out. Have. I idea how they figure out the sloap of the roof. Told them we couldn't afford a roof at this time and they still insisted on coming out and having me talk to a rep. They kept insisting on city rebates and payment programs that I could apply for in order to get work done. They contacted me via text and phone. Finally telling them that we were not interested, they would not resist or back down. These guys are very pushy and not even from our area. That got my "don't use" radar up. If a business is that persistent for your business and soliciting heavily in an out of town area, something is wrong with their business. Beware. read more

A young man from RNR roofing did a cold call and asked if we would like an estimate. Since we will be needing to re-roof sometime this year I said yes. He said they could come by the next day for the estimate and we agreed on 11am. He then told me someone from the company would call me later that evening to schedule the appointment, funny.. I thought we had just done that. I explained to him we were leaving for the evening and would not be home, he said fine that they would come at 11. While were were out the company called and spoke to our son's caregiver. She said the person who called was very pushy and seemed annoyed that we were not home. The next morning I received a second call and the man said he was sorry, but everyone was busy and they could not come at 11 and wanted to reschedule. I said fine.. and we set an appointment for 2pm. After that call I checked the reviews of RNR here on Yelp and was not impressed.. a theme of high pressure sales tactics and multiple phone calls pressuring for a sale was a common theme. When I receive the third call that afternoon from RNR saying yet again his guy was too busy to make the 2pm appointment I explained that I had read the companies reviews and did not want to do business with them. If a company who knocks on your door for business and then is not reliable enough to actually show up when they said they would it makes you think that their work will be the same...
