A late review but leak in roof was never resolved from years ago. It wasn't until we recently had new roofers come fix our roof did we did we discover that Hull & Sons never really repaired the leak. They replaced some broken tiles and blamed the leak on the skylight, but we found out the leak underneath the tiles was never fixed. It cost 2k and they didn't respond when we mentioned the roof was still leaking. read more

I had received a non-renewal notice from my homeowners insurance company due to drone photos taken. They said there was mold/algae/mildew/moss on the north side of my roof. I was referred to Hull & Sons by a very good friend of mine who had used them to install a new roof. Relatives of theirs had used them also and were also pleased with their work. All of the staff in the office including Lori Bell and Debbie were very pleasant and easy to work with. Ron Cowan who came and did the estimate was as well. They answered all my questions. The people who came to do the roof and gutter cleaning were also pleasant, thorough, and completed the job without any issues. I would highly recommend them without reservation. Unfortunately this company is not very professional. My wife reached out to this company regarding a job they were doing next-door. Their workers were blowing debris into our spa. She called the company and ask them to kindly come over and cover it. She got the blow off with "I'll see what we can do." It has been four working days since the call and they were using a blower on the roof again yesterday. This might seem like a small issue, but imagine if a painter was getting overspray on a vehicle next door or something similar. I get that paint isn't the same as debris, but it's about the service and attention to detail when someone calls. I own a small business and clean up after our installations at the client and absolutely at their neighbors if there are any debris. Very unfortunate and very unprofessional that they didn't feel like this was something worth addressing. read more

Never showed up to do the work and never replied to text. Voicemail full. Left us waiting and wasted a day. Over the course of a few weeks, I got a quote to fix a broken truss in the attic. We finally secured a date for the repair. On the date of the scheduled repair, the repairer never showed up or called. I called Hull & Sons and got a full mailbox. Tried texting, which they used to contact with before and never got a response. Wife and I lost a day of work as we set the time aside for the repair to happen. Hull and sons installed our roof 4 years ago and did a great job and on schedule. Recent heavy and sustained rains revealed a small leak in our ceiling near a valley where different roof sections meet. I phoned the company and received a call back from Kyle within hours. The very next morning Sean came and repaired a small area of flashing that had lifted slightly and was causing the leak. It was covered under warranty. Especially with the extreme recent rains and no doubt equally extreme demand on roofers right now, this immediate and effective response was just amazing. I am impressed. If you are looking to have your roof repaired or replaced, look no further than Hull and Sons. 20 years ago we had our shake roof replaced by them with an Owens Corning 40 year shingle. They did a fantastic job and it still looks great today. We did have a small leak during this past rain storm (in May?) and we called to have them come out to fix it. Debbie was extremely nice and even took the time to find our old file even after 20 years. Arron came out, looked in the attic and then on the roof where he found the raised nail that was creating the problem. (Not bad after 20 years.) He proceeded to pound down the nail and seal the area to prevent further leaks. He also looked over the entire roof to be sure it was still okay. I had used this company in the past and they did an excellent job so I used them again. They came on time and fixed my roof not a problem. The issue that I have is that after they finished up the work they left my backyard a mess. I spent a good part of an hour cleaning up nails, screws and plaster. Since i have 2 year old and a dog that play in the backyard I was very upset that they would leave their work area in this kind of condition. I contacted the office and spoke with Peggy their receptionist requesting a certificate for their work and to log a complaint the mess that they made. Two weeks passed and nothing. I had to call them up again to request the certificate again and to log the same issue. She informed me that she would send this off to Kevin to review. A month after the work was completed I finally received my certificate and i have still NOT heard from Kevin or anything one else about the mess they have left in my backyard. They do good work, but don't sign or pay until they clean up their work area. read more

My wife and I called Hull and Sons Roofing to come out and repair a leak on a section of our roof. Ron Cowan came out on time to give us an estimate. We decided right then and there to go with them because of the previous company that came out and did the work appears to go out of business. We should of chose Hull and Sons then, it was out of our control because of who my dad wanted. During the roof work we dealt with Kyle Hull. The company did a great job and cleaned up afterwards, with a little exception of fixing a cement thing to fill in the separation of the tile(s). Kyle Hull got right on it without a question. Cody, It shouldn't matter who the point of contact was. Your company was not communicating with me or my husband. The bottom line was that the work was not completed, and we would not have found out about it had my husband not instead on more than one picture. You mentioned you sent pictures as in more than one. Which is not true at all, we only received one and I showed Sean. My husband asked your secretary for more pictures several times and only then did Sean return to take pictures. That is when he realized the work was not completed by the original workers. No one on your team including Sean called us at ALL to tell us the work was not completed. Instead, another worker showed up without us knowing to complete the work. As I mentioned we only knew that because of our Arlo. I called to speak to you on three different occasions. You never called me. Instead, you had Sean call me when I specifically asked to speak to you. You only called me after I told your secretary I would be leaving a bad review. Then you claimed you had been calling the wrong number which we both know never happened. You decided my compliant was not important and pawned me off to Sean. Not very "family owned" of you to do. You mention there was clear miscommunication, but all the miscommunication was on your team's side. You mentioned I should not have given your company a 1-star rating because your family owned. I give stars for good work and good communication. We had neither with your company and if you feel you don't deserve a 1-star you should encourage your team to have better communication. read more

If you are looking to get your roof repaired look no further. We had a roof leak from the last rains and everyone from Hull & Sons couldn't have been more helpful. They came out the same day that we called and quickly identified the issue. Wish I could remember who came out that day but he was fantastic. He clearly explained what would be needed to correct the problem and presented several options. The following day we received the estimate from the owner Kyle Hull with a complete breakdown of the work, and materials, that would be needed to make the repairs. The price for the work that needed to be done was very reasonable and we were given a date an time that the work would be completed. As with everyone else we dealt with the crew was on time and very professional. I had a roof leak that Hull & Sons was supposed to repair in January 2015. In 2017, I had a leak in the exact spot where the original leak was. I called Hull & Sons and was treated like a liar since I'd had solar panels installed in 2016. So I went back and forth between them and Petersen Dean (roofing and solar company), and it was determined that the leak was not because of the solar. Hull & Sons found some debris near one of the roof vents, cleaned the area, and again said the leak was fixed. In March of 2018, I again had a leak in the exact same spot causing more water damage to the ceiling and a wall. I again contacted Hull & Sons and was again treated very poorly like I lied to them. Again they blamed the solar for the leak. They came out and realized that based on the original salesman's (Ron) diagram, they never fixed the leak. They'd worked on the wrong area of the roof, which wasn't leaking. I will give credit to Ron as he came out, was very pleasant, and upfront in admitting his mistake. Hull & Sons came out today to repair the leak they should've fixed 3 years ago. Currently, I'm trying to get a new bill of sale that starts my warranty from today's date since the work was just performed, which is fair. I didn't receive an apology, any effort to make amends for the water damage to the ceiling, or anything other that what I paid for three years ago. I already requested it from Kyle, but I never heard back from him. I can only hope that I won't need to call them back after the poor treatment I've received. Update 5/9/18: I received a call from Cody Hull, who was very professional and apologized for the treatment that I'd received. I explained the situation to him and requested the 5 year warranty for the repair since that was what I'd paid for. Despite their current repair warranty being much shorter, Mr. Hull had a warranty letter prepared honoring the 5 year term that I purchased and agreed to warranty the non-leaking portion of the roof they'd worked on originally for the 5 years from the date they worked on it.
