I have been a customer of Burgeson's for the last 13 years. Each of the last 13 years I have paid for the twice annual preventive maintenance program, which I believe is a very valuable program. Last fall I had their technician Jose Parra service my furnace. He was very patient, detailed and very methodical. I was impressed with Jose so much that when making my appointment for the PM on my AC, I intentionally requested Jose. Jose serviced my AC on 07-08-2026. He was equally as impressive this time. Frankly, he was more impressive. He not only allowed me to look over his shoulder he walked me through every single test he performed on my unit and followed it with a detailed explanation of the readings. Jose found my capacitor had failed. He didn't just tell me it failed. It proved its failure by comparing his instrument reading of 15mfd to the capacitance of 30mfd. He explained the role of the capacitor and the allowable limits. If you ever had to replace a capacitor you know they are not cheap, especially in today's economy. Jose provided me with a discount he was allowed to provide and called his office to get an additional 5%. In total Jose discounted the capacitor's price by 20% which was very much appreciated. Jose had to connect my hose to his to ensure he had enough length to wash the coils. When he was finished, I tried to disconnect his hose from mine and roll up my hose, but he insisted that he did it. Jose Parra is most definitely a remarkable asset with Burgeson's organization! So when we began having issues with the toilets, we called the company and were contacted by Eugene Schoonever who arrived on time, checked out our concerns and gave us his referral of replacing the toilets with newer, more efficient, and most importantly, TALLER models to help us be more comfortable during our senior years. Our A/C and heating unit was not performing properly so we called Burgeson's whom have been serving us for years. They started with my parents when my father built this house in 1980. When the passed away we continued the service with them. They come out twice a month to check and change filters for our A/C and heating. Within the last 6 months the dampers to open the flow of air wasn't working correctly. We had someone whom was doing work at our house and he did some work on the A/C which was a mistake. We called Burgeson's and they fixed everything that was needed. New A/C unit, changed the ducts from four systems to two, more efficient for the house. New thermostats on the wall that connect to our phone to change temperature when we're here or gone. They wore booties to keep floors clean and also laid a covering on the floor. They are very knowledgeable and were great discussing what they were doing. They also cleaned up any messes afterwards. They are the best, they also do solar, check out all the services they do. Very qualified technicians. Since there has been a service with them since 1980 they gave us a good discount. We also got a discount through Lenex and through the state. I hired Burgeson's to come out and work on my tankless water heater on Monday, January 5th. They descaled my water for $249. They worked on my error code 11 as a courtesy at no extra cost due to already paying for the descaling. They sent out Joshua, his customer service was 5/5 His knowledge was 5/5 He was polite and knocked on the door before coming into the house every time. My water heater is working like new again. They gave us the choice of buying one and they would install it or they would install the best one you can get. They told me Rheem from Home Depot are not good. I looked it up and it was the honest truth. There may be cheaper companies out there, but I've learned that you get what you pay for. Long time customer of Burgeson's, until recently I have only utilized their A/C services. There was an issue with my water heater and I needed to replace my water control valve. The water heater was still under warranty so I got a new valve and called Burgeson's to check my machine and perform the replacement. The first technician that came out was in late November as it took some time to get an appointment. So we were without hot water for a few weeks. Rafael came out inspected the machine. He asked me if I ever performed work on the machine and I said no and he told me I should replace my machine. I told him my machine was still under warranty so if there are issues we can get the parts replaced. He said we should replace the valve and we should be good. After 30 minuets or so the valve was replaced, the charge was $259 which I thought was pricey, but I was desperate because we've been without hot water for some time. After he did our annual inspection of the plumbing I was surprised he didn't give us a receipt or a write up. He said if there was any other issues with the water heater to call them back they can take care of it. One month later my water heater stops working again. We call the gas company and they inspect the machine and told us there were concerns with the work they see on the machine and recommended we replace the valve again and to call them back to check the machine. We call Burgeson's and have them come back out once more. Michael tells us the valve needed replacement again but there was another issue with the igniter on the machine. He speaks with the warranty company to order the replacement parts for service. Between waiting on parts and getting Burgeson's back out it was probably 2-3 weeks of no hot water in the house for the 2nd time. Michael finally returns to work on the machine. He arrives at 9am and after 3 hours of banging, lots of loud noises, and constant phone calls he tells us the machine is working. He then tells me our burner is bad and we may need to replace it, but recommended buying a whole new machine. I tell him again this machine is under warranty. We pay another $259 for the work and he leaves. Less than 6 hours later the machine goes out again. I try to ignite it and there is a loud boom! I call Burgeson's emergency line and at first they wanted to charge me to come out although I was preferred member. Then they tell me they'll call me back. I contact the gas company because I smell gas and evacuate the house. Later Burgeson's calls me back and Elijah shows up and tells me it was my burner that was bad and it needs to be replaced after taking my water heater apart and taking pictures. He proceeds to tell me it will be another $259 to replace and fix. I tell him that makes no sense and is ridiculous. No way can 3 different technicians come out and each give me a different reason for the machine not working when they should have diagnosed it from the start. He promises they'll get it fixed and they'll call me in the morning leaving me with a disassembled hot water heater. The gas company luckily comes out that night and explains to me there is no issue with the burner and they did not perform the service on the igniter like they should have. I look for the box with the replacement igniter and packing slips and it was gone. Burgeson's took the box with them earlier that day. I was later told by Michael he threw it away in front of Todd. After not hearing back from Burgeson's all weekend and finally speaking with the plumbing manager Todd Monday morning, he and Michael came and replaced the part and apologized for all the confusion. Somehow the burner which was damaged was no longer the issue. I was told the parts were thrown out by mistake and now they have everything to fix my machine. Thankfully I wasn't charged for that visit but they did not return my money for the hardship and negligence. Although I am very glad to have hot water, however, I am very disappointed in the company. I wouldn't recommend their plumbing department after this prolonged torturous experience. read more

The 2 days of take down and installation of the new system was clean and the crew of 6 were very courteous. The Install Lead Agun was superior with his customer service and over seeing of the entire project. Thank you Agun. The entire job was very professionally completed and they were very meticulous with everything and they knew what The City Inspector would look for to pass the city permit inspection. They even performed on the 2nd day their own air duct test to make sure there were no leaks. They hired a third party to follow up and conduct an air duct test and it was conducted the very next day. A few weeks later Burgeson's scheduled Josh their QA Dept. He spent over an hour going over the entire HVAC System. He was there to do the last step and assure Burgeson's and myself that all was installed and working correctly. He was to make sure The City Permit Inspector requirements were all in line. He scheduled the city inspection and we passed and the job was approved. That was for our peace of mind. Thank you Josh. I was very impressed with their process from beginning to end about 4 weeks. Have used Burgeson for several years and always been happy with the service. Their prices are comparable to the industry charges but what makes them outstanding is their honesty. Had them out for my heater not working and initial finding was a bad part. When the technician started to remove the part he noticed the problem with the part not functioning correctly was significant dirt had accumulated. The technician could have easily installed and charge me for a new part but instead cleaned and tested it and determined that it was still in good shape and only charged me for a service call. That one honest act has made me even more a loyal customer. Additionally their service technicians have always been very friendly, clearly state/explain what the problem is and always leave the area clean. Burgeson did call me back after I complained, and I do appreciate that Michael from the HVAC department reached out. I also want to be fair and say the actual work itself seemed fine. That said, I am still very unhappy with the pricing and the lack of transparency. The technician was at my house less than 45 minutes, yet I was told the time somehow reflected a longer window that included travel from Redlands to Riverside. On top of that, it appeared that labor was built into each individual part charge, which made the bill feel inflated. When I questioned it, I did not get a clear answer. I was basically told that because Burgeson is a big company with 200+ employees, their prices are naturally higher and that this is how they stay competitive. That may explain their overhead, but it does not explain the confusing pricing structure or make it feel fair to the customer. So yes, they called me back, but no, they did not give me a transparent answer. Big company overhead is one thing. Charging in a way a customer cannot clearly make sense of is another. I strongly recommend getting a second estimate and getting a clear breakdown of parts and labor before using this company.. otherwise you're going be paying over $1000 for a job that should have only been $400-$500 max read more

You might as well be calling a used car salesman to your house! The owner Diana is great about responding here on Yelp and I want to love them as a local business, but the company still lacks service oversight. I decided to give them another shot because of Diana's note and a realtor friend of mine has had good experiences. I asked them to come to my house and look at one thing and instead my wife got upsold on tons of things we could do if I wanted to. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. HVAC's are like old cars, you can always take them to the mechanic and get work done on them. You need an HVAC company who is honest and will tell you when a recommended repair is critical vs. preventative maintenance and Burgeson's people just upsell both as if they are the same. When I talked to the technician, and declined the preventative maintenance, I asked him to write his preventative maintenance suggestion in the notes. Instead his final notes including critical and preventative suggestions as if they were the same. When I called the main office to complain about the level of upsell their tech's do, I spoke to a supervisor. They maintained that they did nothing wrong and so this is just how they operate. Selected Burgeson's to install solar + battery at my home mostly because I have always received excellent service from them and wanted a solar installer I knew from experience that I could trust. Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure how things would go with solar - and Burgeson's was not the cheapest - but I was confident if we hit any snags Burgeson's would make it right. I have not been disappointed. Very pleased with the system design (it is not over built), the quality of the equipment and especially the quality of the workmanship. Burgeson's also upgraded my electrical panel, installed a 50 amp portable generator plug, a whole house surge protector and a 50 amp EV Plug. Labeled every circuit breaker accurately and helped me understand how everything worked together. Happily, I can highly recommend Burgeson's as a solar installer in addition to their other services. Carlos, Reuben, Nick, Adrian, Mike, Steven and others made this project come together quickly along with all the necessary permits. I have been with Burgesons for about 8 years now I believe. They installed a brand new hvac system for me back then. I always do the yearly maintenance on it and I have never had problems. A couple years back a tech advised me of a part needing replacement soon and I decided to do it. Didn't have any problems before the part change or after. I mean after all that is what the maintenance is about right...to catch things like that. Recently I had my yearly service done and the tech told me everything was great. No problems at all. He said nothing negative about my system. 4 days later my AC stopped working. I truly believe that he had to have missed something and was not thorough. They sent the same tech back to me and he had such a bad attitude about it all. He kept shrugging his shoulders and telling me it just happens. He brushed me off when I mentioned that he himself said everything was good just 4 days prior. I understand wear and tear. I understand parts need replacement but I can't get past the feeling that he missed something during the maintenance call. His poor attitude and the way he spoke to me just added to my terrible visit. To top it off it cost me $421. Not a good day for me at all. read more
