I've been taking lessons here for about a year and a half. Before that, my only riding experience was a few weeks of lessons when I was a little boy, and the occasional trail ride every few years. I'm now regularly taking part in playdays (amateur barrel racing and pole bending) and even won a buckle last season! I'm also in better physical shape than when I started, having put on a few pounds of muscle in my legs and core -- which is quite the feat in middle-age. Dwaine has been around horses all his life, and it shows. He's incredibly patient and encouraging with his students and knows when they need to be pushed to improve. More than a few of his students have gone to become professionals, competing in rodeos. They learn not just the basics of how to ride, but also grooming, saddling and overall horsemanship. There's probably no better testimony, though, than the community of kids and parents that have formed around the stables, with plenty of friendships formed that extend past lesson time. read more

The people were nice and friendly. They put my daughter on a reluctant pony. You can see the well-defined ribs on the pony. The pony limped on rear left foot when walking slowly. To get her to move, rider has to constantly make loud kissing sound, kick, and hit pony on the backside while the owners chase it on a golf cart. The instructor told her to hit it as hard as she could. It was not the horse ride we envisioned. We booked a horse because we didn't want a pony. We mentioned this to both owners who only offered a pony since my daughter isn't an experienced rider. The pony should be retired. read more

I enjoyed myself and found the owner and his colleagues to be very pleasant. The horses we rode were well trained, and didn't offer any issues. They gave us basic instructions for how to ride a horse, but it worked and the horse followed our lead. I mean, it's a very basic experience if you rode horses before, and looking for a little more. Was such an amazing experience! Called in 3 hours before the ride and they let us come in last minute and took care of us. We started off by getting to say hi to our horse and getting to know them. (Mine was Gigi). And then we hopped on and got told all the things to and not to do. We got to get the hang of things since they let us go in circles for a while and slowly picked up the pace. Then we headed out to the trail and had a blast. Would definitely recommend. Everyone was nice and seemed like they all knew and had love for the horses. read more

On the phone the owner was very nice. Used a Groupon to go here with my wife. When we arrived there were 2 teenagers running the show on a Saturday. Although I have plenty of experience with horses before they offered minimal assistance or training I would be concerned if I was a new rider, and you could tell these high school girls were just there for a paycheck. On the positive side the horses are all in good shape, they have good equipment, and saddles. When you do the one hour ride it's just a ride in a circle- kinda geared more towards kids, but good for first time riders. The two girls that helped us out on Saturday definitely made this experience bad. They offered little to no training to my wife who is a new rider I had to get alongside her and assist her meanwhile they were just standing around talking about high school, and "boy problems". If I had a child I would definitely think twice about coming here due to safety concerns of my child. I really had high hopes for this place as the owner was nice, and the yelp reviews were decent. May 7, 2021 AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I've been taking my two daughters to rnr stables for the last 5 weeks. The owner Dwaine was very nice on the phone before he met me. He was pretty kind to my kids which I am thankful. However, I am a Christian mother who happens to have pink hair and he obviously judged me and my character at first sight. This man who I've paid hundreds of dollars to to teach my kids, has treated me like absolute dirt from the moment he laid eyes on me. I watch him laugh and smile and joke with every other worker and parent and paying customer, but he is cold, short and very rude to me. It has really hurt my feelings. I've emailed him several times and tried several times to make friends with friendly conversation - to which he never responds to my emails and he shuts down my conversation in a very cold way each and everytime. He HATES me because of how I look. If this place calls itself a Christian place, that is a joke. The Bible talks a lot about judgement but not anything about pink hair. I have a disease where I'm losing my hair and I wanted to do something fun before it's gone. I also work with the youth at my church and they all love it and feel comfortable with me to open up and let me into their lives to pray with them and point them to Jesus. Having pink hair makes me no less a Christian it's not my identity, my identity is in Christ. I'm just having some fun like I said. Dwaine has no idea how much he has hurt a servant of Christ, week after week. Or he just doesn't care. Either way this is a very controlling and cruel man. My daughter is also a natural on a horse and just because on day one I asked him to teach her to canter, everytime she gets to a fast trot he yells at her to slow down. I'm paying for him to not let her progress... I feel like next week will be our last at rnr stables only because we have already paid for it. If you love your kids, or look different, or are looking for a safe Christian environment - don't go here. He Isnt a nice man. It's all just words not actual Christianity that he claims. I wrote to him today to tell him once again how he has hurt me - and even my mother and husband were with me today to see how terrible he treats me, and they were shocked. In my email today I was kind and loving but did ask for an apology - and then I wished him happiness and blessings, and he still refuses to answer me. That's about 7 unanswered emails. Even though once you pay for a lesson he sends out an email that tells you if you need help with anything just let him know. Once he found out it was me who purchased that lesson he never wrote that offer again! And he never wrote back with the help I was asking for. It's just the worst customer service and he is a terrible teacher. He sits on his phone and yells at the kids to go in circles and then turn around and go in circles again. All the while talking away to other workers or on his phone. It's all just empty words. He never responds to me when I have questions in person or over email. This man is very hateful once he pre judges you as someone not worthy. It's very sad, and it's very painful to be rejected repeatedly while watching him talk and laugh with the men who work with him and women who he deems worthy of his kindness. Sad. And if you want your kids to progress and learn to canter if they are really great little riders don't expect Dwaine to let your kids learn quickly. He wants to suck every dime out of you without letting your kids pass a certain point in riding. My daughter is more than capable of cantering and he yells and has a fit every time she begins to trot at a speed he doesn't like. She tells me later those were the funnest parts, "when the horse goes fast mommy" My 10 year old daughter can drop into a 5 foot ramp on a half pipe skateboarding, I think she has the balance to canter on a horse. Dwaine just hates me and he could hate you too, you won't know until he sees you and gets to make his judgement about you. That's a terrible way to run a business, treat the nice Christian woman who is trying to make friends with you with hatred (?). Pray for him if you are a believer. He needs to know Jesus not just know about Jesus. Waste of money, hurt feelings, kids who aren't learning anything, and horses everywhere that you cannot pet or ask questions about without getting yelled at. RUN FAR AWAY FROM RNR STABLES. I honestly feel like I have wasted over $400 at this place and my kids have learned nothing except that Dwaine is mean to mommy and they are scared to make him mad. We will be going somewhere else to spend thousands. Somewhere full of kindness and love, checking it out this Saturday :) I also want to add - if you are a man, Dwaine will treat you with respect. He is definitely sexist - you can read positive reviews from dads and also from normal looking women who look like country folk instead of me who has pink hair but actually is a country folk at heart. read more

The owner of this place Mr. Dwayne has to be the rudest business owner that I've ever spent my money with! He was very condescending on the phone with me before I ever visited the place. After speaking with him on the phone I almost called back and cancelled but didn't because I wanted to take my 8 year old Grandson who is battling terminal brain cancer and having a surgery next week. I invited 2 friends and their granddaughter and they also agreed that he certainly is very condescending and seemed to speak differently to us than he did with customers of another color! We're black and so is he.hmmmm? He was nasty to us from the time that we arrived until we left. This is by far the worst experience ever at a riding stable! I was referred there by a friend who lived closeby...What a mistake!!!! This man made us feel like he was doing us a favor by taking our money,being nasty and let us walk around in a circled pen eating dust. When I asked about going out on a trail ride which I thought we would do anyway, he acted like he was angry and told me that it would be additional money which I didn't mind. I was only looking for a good time! He charged us extra for 2 times around a short outside trail where he demanded that we only walk. We could have had more fun at a fair!!!! Never ever would I recommend this place to anyone. I have no idea how this man stays in business with his attitude. Oh that's right! Maybe he only wants to cater to a select race of people! I would definitely not recommend this business! At $75 it was s total rip-off, at $20 it would still not have been worth the drive over there. I purchased a riding session for my 9-yr old's birthday. Supposedly this included "Instructors help students develop confidence and coordination" and "riding sessions focus on fundamentals, along with a strong emphasis on safety and understanding the horse's social skills". There was none of that! There was no instruction, no assistance or teaching of fundamentals. Certainly nothing about horse social skills. There was my daughter and 3 other people walking the horses around in a circle for an hour, while 3 teenage staffers stood around in the center of the ring, on their phones, joking with each other and occasonally shouting out "pop him good" (meaning hit the horse with a crop, which they referred to as the cropper). This was the most frequent input offered by the staff. One of the riders was given a crop which was missing the flap on the end (the keeper) so that the rider was striking the horse with the exposed metal rod. At one point they had all the horses start trotting with no teaching or coaching of the riders. My daughter went around several times holding on to the saddle horn for dear life, and was completely ignored by the staff. I tried to offer her tips and guidance as she would come past me going around the ring. The entire time, the owners were sitting in a golf cart in the ring watching it all with no positive input. When they occasionally spoke, it was to yell at the kids working for them. By the time it was over my daughter could not wait to be done. Rather than being excited she no longer ever wants to ride a horse again. read more

Dwaine and Danielle were very nice. The horses appeared well taken care of. We booked with Groupon and wanted a trail ride. I emailed the owner and called and left a message about wanting to do the trial ride. The third contact attempt I was able to talk to him and he said a trail ride was fine to do. The trail ride was fairly disappointing- just a walk around the property. He said they do trail rides at grasslands areas so not sure why we weren't offered that. And it was still a $50 upcharge for the "trail ride" we did. Disappointing to say the least! read more

I'm shocked no one has been seriously injured at this stable during riding lessons. We paid for a 4-day horse camp but our 10 year old had such a terrible, scary experience we opted out of the final 3 days choosing to forfeit $300 rather than put her at risk again. She had had private riding lessons is a wonderful stable for two years but that stable closed due to zoning issues. At that stable riders had a teacher walking with them and the horse as well as a walker on the other side of the horse for safety for the novice children riders. Constant, clear instruction was being given constantly. It was a great place. We sent her to this camp thinking it might be a little boring for her but would put her with horses and other kids who love horses for 4 days. It never occurred to us we might be putting her at great risk and that the "teacher" wasn't good with kids or horses. He's the owner and there were so many good reviews. I can't imagine how he has good reviews except he's dealing with children who've never been to a good stable and don't know better. He had mostly first-time riders get on the horses all together in a corral, and ride around with no adult in the corral. There were times when he wasn't even near the corral. One of the girls complained her horse wasn't going fast enough and he gave her a small whip to hit the horse. OMG! Then there were times the horses were cantering with first-time children riders riding them and NO adult anywhere near them. The children were unaware of the danger they were in but our girl knew and was terrified. The owner/"teacher" ridiculed her for being scared. This a child who's loved riding in the past. When we left she said she never wanted to go near a horse again. I just found a good stable today for private lessons. Her new teacher knows she's been traumatized and will have to work on restoring her confidence and love of horses. We hope we can undo the damage. Horrible experience! If you have kiddos that love horses, I can't recommend RNR stables enough. My daughter has been going here for years. She started with the Summer Camps and eventually moved on to weekly lessons. Dwaine has a unique way of connecting with children and helping them overcome fear and build confidence around (and on!) these horses. Do remember, the camps are not *just* about riding. They learn about horses, how to care for them, safety, etc. We knew my daughter was hooked when she came home from the first day of camp and excitedly told us all about mucking stalls! RNR has been a big part of my daughter's growth and maturity over the years. Being able to control such large animals does wonders for a child's self-confidence. My daughter took horse back riding camp here over Christmas break. She LOVED it. Not only did she ride, she learned about caring for horses, anatomy, colors, cleaning the stables, and safety. In spite of the fact that it rained for 2 of the 3 days and was in the 30s, she was always dying to go back. Her birthday is in a couple of weeks, and she's scrapping the ice skating party she had planned to do a horse back riding party. I highly recommend RNR. We'll be back for sure. read more

It was a good learning experience. Using a groupon only gets you a basic training and ride in circles in a controlled environment (fenced yard) for 1 hour. The basic training includes instructions on turning, start riding, stopping, and acelerating the horse. It would have been nice to include a trail ride for 10-15 minutes with the groupon purchase. read more

A group of friends decided to start an Equistrian club and RNR Stables was our first choice! We had the BEST time getting back in the saddle! Dwaine/owner was the ideal instructor for our beginner riders and matched the right horse with the fear/experience levels of all the women riding. We started in the ring to learn basics and walked horses around property -- the next visit we went on a 2-hr scenic, wooded trail! We drove in from Dallas, but the locals know it for all the fun bday parties thrown there, too! From the first moments, it was a friendly, informative, inviting experience. Beautiful horses! We were disappointed, to say the least. This was billed as a horseback riding camp, so we thought there would be a minimum amount of actual horse riding. 2 of the 4 days only included 5 or 10 minutes of riding and the other 2 days were 30-45 minutes each. I thought maybe I was expecting too much, so I went online to several others camps to see what was offered. Typically, for the same price, the camps are not only 5 days (instead of 4 offered here), but have a minimum of 2 hours of riding each day. My kids enjoyed being out of the house and they did learn about how to care for horses, but were the most interested in riding. read more
