We came back in to cancel and the employee who had originally made the sale (girl with bright red hair) was quick to be defensive blaming us for not paying close attention. She then told us she couldn't cancel and we had to call a number , I waited on hold for 20 minutes until someone came to our rescue and unsubscribed us. Walked in with an idea of what "I thought I needed" and then met Michael. Once we looked at my 3D scan and watched me run, he found me the perfect shoe. My sister came to get shoe inserts and they worked with her so well and even gave her a personalized fitting and filmed her running to get the perfect form for her. Ok this is strange, the staff at RRS was GREAT. Our shoe consultants were Jillian & Kaitlin. My wife and I went into the store to just look at shoes but came out with so much more. I have to say everything we thought about shoes were wrong. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile and respect. They were willing to explain everything and anything about running shoes. They explained why we had been buying shoes the wrong sizes for years. Once we did our assessment they went into the details of the assessment that was extraordinary. They pulled out 4 or 5 pairs of shoes and we were able to try them on and I was even able to do a run around the store to ensure it was a good fit. Who knew that you should get shoes that are 1.5 sizes larger than your actual foot size - something we did not know. We were so happy with our experience we purchased two pairs of shoes and custom insoles. I know now i will not buy another pair of running shoes from any other shoe company but RRS. I hope all of their shoe consultants are as good and friendly as Jillian & Kaitlin. We were there past closing and they were not in a rush to get us out the door. GREAT customer service!! read more

I've been a member of their "VIP" club for many years. Probably since they first started selling online. This store and the people there are truly awful. I dread ever having to go in there because they push so hard to buy their 80 dollar insoles, and if you don't they are just plain rude. Last week I bought two pairs of shoes as gifts and they almost wouldn't sell them to me unless I brought the person in to do their expensive insole fitting. Now that most of the store is dedicated to selling used shoes, I can't ever see a reason to go there again. Also, as others have noted, if you use a credit card here you can expect a random charge a year later and every year after for their "club" pricing. This pricing is the price that everyone else charges regularly, but it's a great scam for them. Most people would never even notice the charge, which is the point. read more

I had a great experience at this Road Runner Sports location! My first visit was as a Mom's Night Out with a local fitness group where we had fittings for shoes and sports bras. The staff was extremely helpful and informative and beyond kind. It was a fun experience for all involved! I ended up ordering a bra online and bought shoes in store. When I got home, I realized that I had mistakenly been fitted for trail running shoes and I really was hoping for something better on pavement. When I returned to the store, they went above and beyond to make sure I had a fair exchange and got shoes truly suited to my needs. They apologized for the mistake during the fitting and really went out of their way to ensure I was happy. Inspired by my mom's recent feat at Boston Marathon, I decided to give running another go. My parents have been long-time customers at the Road Runner Sports in Atlanta and said this new location in Marietta is fantastic. And WOW, either the running culture has changed drastically in the last 2 years I've been inactive, or Road Runner Sports rocks. I think it's the latter. Amy first led me through a questionnaire on a fancy flat screen TV and analyzed my arch and running style using various tools, including a treadmill (don't worry, it's a 10-sec jog). Then Lou picked out 4 or so pairs of shoes that fit my profile and fitness goals. All of them fit well, and I ended up getting a pair using my family's VIP membership (which gets you 10% off every purchase and some other benefits). They offered customized molds, socks, and shoes during this process, but they didn't aggressively pressure me in any way. Overall, it was a very informative, fun experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in walking/running. They have weekly runs on Wednesdays and some monthly events. read more

Buyer beware. The know-it-all sales associate who helped me is so certain of his foot knowledge that it's easy to get pulled in as he assaults you with facts, figures and more from all the equipment they have you use including a treadmill and insole making machine to get data and impressions of your feet. He never mentions the price of the insoles and you'll be in for a rude awakening at the cash register when you see they're almost as expensive as the shoes. I bought two shoes, two insoles and socks and had a bill of over $500. I asked about the return policy and he points to an All Sales Final stamp and says the only way to return anything is to join their rewards program. So i did. Granted, the program delivers discounts on all items but forcing me to join just to have a right to return an item left me feeling abused and scammed. And all his mumbo jumbo about the importance of custom insoles while never mentioning the price left me feeling manipulated. These guys will suck you in and overwhelm you with all their sophisticated technology and strongly held beliefs about feet and footwear. Only later, like me, you may discover there's a completely different school of thought that says insoles are awful and that it's best to walk as flatly as possible. But Roadrunner is there to upsell you and it's easy to fall head over heels for their sales pitch. The attention they give you is truly unique and special, but their tactics are designed to take your mind off price while their return policy is worthy of mentioning to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I have been trying to cancel my VIP membership at Road Runner Sports for over 2 years. I was told today that I would be credited back for $28.99 and $39.99, which were the amounts I was charged for 2018 and 2019, respectively. The amounts that were actually credited back to my card were $2.33 and the other amount was $2 and some change., respectively. The 800 number customer service girl "didn't know why it wasn't the full amount." Since 2017, I have tried to cancel it several times online, I went into the Buckhead store to cancel my membership last year, spoke to someone on the phone last month (Sabrina)who assured me my card info was "now" totally deleted from their system, and promptly received a "goodbye" form email from Road Runner Sports saying they would "miss me" and they hope I will consider rejoining their VIP club again. Then I few days later, I got an email saying I needed to update my CC info. I kind of thought to myself, "oh, good, they don't have my card number to charge now," but nope, 9 days after receiving the "goodbye" letter, my credit card that was "permanently deleted from their system" got charged again! I called today and spoke to a representative, Amanda, who, when I asked her what she would do if she were me, trying to get this membership canceled for two years unsuccessfully, said, "I don't know." That's not good customer service. The only thing she could offer me after our call today was to send the same form email "Goodbye" letter that they sent to me last month after my account was "definitely canceled." She told me she could give me the voicemail of a supervisor. Of course, no return call. For many reasons, I am now a Big Peach loyal customer and am having my friends that shopped at Road Runner not give them their business anymore. I'm furious that Road Runner Sports continues to try to charge me, and obviously, from reading all of these reviews, so many others. I am going to continue to post negative reviews, tell my running club friends to stay away from them, and post my experience on all of my social media accounts. Let me first start off by saying that I've frequented this location (Johnson Ferry rd) for many years and prefer this location over AVALON any day (and Avalon is much closer to me). Just look at the reviews of the Avalon location and you'll understand where I'm coming from ;) I visited Road Runner on Johnson Ferry recently and was very disappointed that they would NOT honor any coupon of any kind! I've been a member of their 'VIP' membership for years. I purchased a new pair of Hoka's for my half marathon training. I had a coupon for $20 off and this store would not honor the coupon because 'they are now an outlet store' ? The young man who told me this stated many other customers have tired to use coupons and he got his manager (who was hiding in the back) who advised they could not honor coupons. I was told I could go to the Avalon location and they would honor coupons. Seriously? The main reason I make the longer drive to the Johnson Ferry location is for the customer service, and now they won't honor coupons?! Maco was extremely helpful with the return as well as the purchase of two more pairs of shoes. He was very friendly and polite. You just don't see that very much anymore. Road runner is extremely helpful and always willing to find the right shoe/fit! I recently went in with my feet hurting just past the 90 days and a manager made an exception and got me new shoes and inserts for no charge. UPDATE on my RoadRunner purchase in June 2014 - See my previous post on 6/19/14: Exactly a year AFTER I bought my new running shoes and was charged much more than I expected by the Road Runner store, I got a phantom charge for $29.95 out of the blue on my debit card!!! I hadn't authorized the charge, so researched it. It was a renewal to Road Runner's VIP Club, which apparently was authorized in my shoe purchase a year ago. When I called Road Runner's customer service in Arizona to dispute the charge, they smoothly said, "The sale associate should have been more transparent with you when you bought the shoes. She should have told you that your membership would renew in a year." Right. There are several Rip Off Reports about Road Runner charging for a membership without letting you know. The good news is that the shoes still fit really well. But, what a scammy way to sell shoes. read more

Great experience! Matthew was wonderful! He really explained the entire process and chose the most comfortable running shoe I have ever put on...I had no idea that I had been wearing shoes that were 1 full size too small! The inserts are incredibly beneficial as well! As a teacher, spending this kind of money on running shoes was hard but it was so worth it! I have had ongoing hip and foot pain for 6 years but when I run in my new shoes and inserts I have absolutely no pain. And I'm pain free the rest of the day! SHADY / FRAUDULENT CHARGES----BEWARE!! I bought a pair of running shoes a year ago and was told there was a free membership that provided discounts so I signed up. The only time I gave them my credit card was when I paid for the shoes. I never received any verbal or written information that implied a charge down the road. Apparently this company has been holding on to my credit card information for a year and charged me a "renewal fee" a year later. Although they say it will be credited back to my account within 5 days, never again will I shop with this company. read more

Awful experience! After buying new shoes at this location three years ago they continue to charge us for the VIP membership which we have asked to be removed from. Twice this charge has been identified as fraudulent by our bank (which it is) and they have made us get new bank cards each time. Twice they have said they will remove us from this program and it has yet to happen.
