One sales person in there was uncomfortably rude. She harassed me when I declined the offer to open an Athleta card overtly smirked and rolled her eyes when I walked in the next day to return a number of the items I had purchased the day before. Such an unfortunate and unnecessary shopping experience. I will be shopping at other stores from here on out. And IF I buy Athlete items, will do so online or at a different location. 100% obsessed with this place. It is dangerously close by so of course I've blown (or invested) a lot here. I'm not really sure what store all these people with bad reviews went to, but it must be somewhere else. First tip, if you have a question don't be shy and ask a salesperson. On what throne do you sit that you expect every salesperson to come up to you? When I wanted to know what shorts they sold, I went and asked where they were. And then I proceeded to try on every single pair of shorts on in the store. I've been completely spoiled by my experiences here. It's hard to shop anywhere else. They see me carrying a couple of items to try on and they offer to start me a fitting room with my name on it. Once I'm back there trying on every swimsuit they have, they check on me and ask if I need any other sizes. And then they proceed to go find whatever other color I want or size and/or offer their opinion sometimes. I don't find them to be pushy at all. One lady brought me a couple suits to try on (ones I didn't ask for) and was helping me find a suit to put together. It was very appreciated. The BEST reason to shop here is their return policy. I've bought numerous things, decided I didn't like it after wearing it (in one case it was over a month later) and then returned it. No questions asked. On the receipt there is no "return by" date or any demand the tags still be on there like other places. Some things are somewhat pricey here, but you get what you pay for: quality. I've only bought swimwear and shorts here, therefore I can only speak for those items. I wouldn't spend $80+ on yoga pants here. A 5 star shopping experience and definitely check when they have sales because it's not too common. read more

I used to be a hardcore Lululemon advocate. Having been shopping the brand for over 16 years..I've seen their ups and downs. Lately I have been exhausted with their quality and with poor quality comes a hefty price tag. You can only imagine how much money I've dumped into their brand..even before they became popular. While they are still great for some items...I need an alternative. Someone who will stand by their shit and own it. These too brands in my opinion are NOT comparable. So for you die hard lulu fans don't expect them to be the same. While their pants mimic lulu the quality and feel of the fabric is a bit different, and you will find more older lady conservative cuts and patterns here. Observations: Patterns-some are cute, some are things I feel my mother would wear. Not as many scarfs or sports bras Lots of swimwear Sale rack is hidden in the back near the fitting room More cold weather items Pants are comfortable (I tried on several styles, verdicts out on the wear) Staff is very helpful and not pretentious (Thanks! Caitlyn -you rock!) More variety in coats/sweaters/dresses Prices for pants are anywhere from $30-40 less than competitors Fitness Professionals Discount of 30% The store is pretty big. They do not carry everything they sell online, but pro-tip if you go in and order with the store they will ship it to your place and it takes less time than ordering it online. At the Domain to pick up some things from another store and strolled by Athlete. I am fit but not tiny and always a bit tentative when going into "workout" stores. Walked into the store and with several employees and only one other customer pretty sure I got the once over and was dismissed. Could just be me, but didn't get a welcome or any warm and fuzzy. After about 15 minutes, one of the salespeople finally came over and offered some help. Her name was Yvonne (spelling?) and was helpful and informative. After chatting for a few minutes, trying on their leggings, I ended up with a pile of clothes. The other girls, who had not acknowledged me, were suddenly chatting me up and friendly. Pretty sure it was the several hundred dollars of merchandise on the counter. Fitness isn't one single size and when companies make normal size people feel like they don't belong, they lose the chance to build brand loyalty. Will I be back? Probably not. I loved some of their clothes and may pick up a few more items online, but there are enough places that want my business. read more

I will never buy gifts at Athleta as they make it impossible for returns even with receipt. My daughter has a new baby and ordered my birthday gift online. I return it to the Domain because the size was wrong. The rude help at Athleta told me that my daughter, who has a baby and lives in Dallas, has to make the return! Ridiculous. Instead of spending my extra $$$$ at Athleta, I walked over to LuLu Lemon where everyone was very friendly. I love Athleta and if I could buy all my clothing, workout or not, I would in a heart beat. The fit and overall attention to detail that Athleta brings to the female market is something I whole heartedly appreciate. I like Athleta better than LuLulemon since they have more lifestyle clothes and I think they Athleta's fit is better overall. I've been to this location twice now and both times have been really pleasant experiences. I was acknowledged, got a fitting room started and offered alternative selections. There is a fine line between engaging with the customer and being a pest. This store definitely knows how to engage me and I also leave feeling good about my purchases. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the fact this location is a lot smaller than other Athleta stores I've been to. The selection of merchandise is limited for styles and colors. Not a deal breaker but I guess living in other markets, I'm spoiled by having bigger stores with the whole product line available. The staff always offers to ship products they don't have to my home for free but it defeats the purpose of being able to try clothes on for size before buying. Overall great store for women. Men are certainly welcome too but I think they'd feel more comfortable in the "sitting/fitting" area where they have Men's Fitness available to read. read more

Athleta has finally come to town! It's right next to Coach, in "Domain 1" near Neiman Marcus. For those who have never heard of it, it's Gap Inc.'s version of Lululemon -- fancy workout clothes for women. But some of these fancy clothes are fantastically functional, such as their PR or TurboCharge tank that have pockets in the back for tennis. Or their 2-piece swimwear that doesn't move when you're doing active water sports like waterskiing, beach volleyball, or just vigorous lap swimming. Their Dipper Short has great pockets and comes in different strokes for different folks (5", 9", and 12" lengths). Granted, I feel like some tanks are just expensive for no reason except for the part where they make you look fabulously fashionable on the trail. I don't do a lot of yoga, so maybe they are good for that? This store only carries a fraction of what they have online, but it's still a decent selection (including petite and tall sizes!) that you can at least try on to get a feel for your size. You can always order online later because it's free shipping over $50 and you can return in stores for free. Also! You can use your Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic credit card here and earn (or spend) rewards. read more

The Venice Joggers are very flattering on a curvy figure! I will say it was pricey but the quality of the items are great. So I hadn't gone into Athleta since my horrible experience in Jan 2016 in which I wrote the 1 Star review. I also never heard back from anyone from Athleta (& no one else did either so I just figured they just didn't care) Well, June 1st, 2018, my middle daughter & I visited the Grand Opening of Wanderlust Yoga Studio in the Domain. We took a class, & then visited the table that Athleta has set up in their front lobby area. I saw some really nice leggings that I was interested in & we started talking to the sweet woman who was manning the table. I didn't recognize her from my last experience there. She was so sweet, inviting, professional, friendly. I ended up telling her about my last experience & even that I had written a poor review of Athleta because of it. She told me that she was the Community Outreach person & that the woman who rudely tore up my Athleta Pro card was no longer there & that things had changed a lot in the last 2 1/2 yrs. Since Monica was so wonderful, she convinced my daughter & I to give them another try. We were Very sweetly surprised. The new managers & assistant managers were all very mature, calm, friendly, professional, welcoming! They ended up offering me an entire outfit to make up for the horrible experience I had in 2016. They updated my FitPro card (for being an instructor & Personal Trainer). My whole experience was completely different than the previous one. Since then, I & my daughters have gone back, a few times a year (for special sales for FitPros, on holidays like Black Friday, & during the New Year for incredible sales). I love that they are a Certified B Corp, & are all about Women & girls Empowerment #PowerOfShe. Only thing that is discouraging, is my discount is only on full sale items except for maybe once a year. LuluLemon my Sweat Collective discount is Even on sale items! Athleta has also started up a Men's collection, which will be coming out soon (not sure when due to Coronavirus). Nice location. The store is smaller than the one on north Lamar. I usually love going to Athleta and have a ton of their clothes. Unfortunately, this store was lacking order and the great customer service that the GAP Corp represented in the past. I picked up a jacket on the extra 40% off rack and was ready to purchase it when the lady said it didn't have the extra 40% off. I told her there was another on the rack. So she went over to grab the other one and see. Fist off it's not like I'm lying. The sign said extra 40% off outerwear and it was outerwear. Even though it wasn't ringing up, she didn't apologize the jackets were misplaced and in the past, if that were ever to happen, they'd honor the discount since it was their fault. I would've purchased right then and there and returned again to the store as a loyal customer. They've just lost one today. It's quite disappointing. I visited this store a few weeks ago in search of some workout tops. However, I was hoping to spend a reasonable amount, so I had to take a photo of the price tag and shop around first. A week later, I returned to find the same tops marked up $5. Never shop here. It's a sham. If anything, the prices should have gone down. If you're not worried about prices because your wallet is limitless, then have fun. I'm not interested in spending money at a store that marks their items up week to week and can't even admit it. The people in the store scanned the bar code off my phone and found what I had a picture of $44, now costs $49. I was very disappointed. read more

So disappointed in the service. My sister ordered me a pair of black work out leggings and a white workout top totaling more that 100 dollars. She must have used her points for a large portion of the purchase, because she's an excellent client. So instead of telling me I should exchange for the correct size. The incompetent sales associate let me return for a gift card for 21 dollars. What the hell can you even buy at the store for 21 dollars. I tried to get the items back so I could mail them to exchange and they wouldn't let me reverse the transaction. I could tell the manager was there and she avoided the situation. read more

Move over lulu-see-through, there is a new sheriff in town - and they make clothing for women with muscles - and booty - and thighs - and broad shoulders - and they make clothes for tall women, shorties like me , thick and thin girls, they make something for everyone - sporty and stylish, comfortable - i have to say sometimes I strut a little bit taller when I am wearing my athleta gear ;) I am a woman who lifts weights and does sprints and does squats - I want clothing that honors that - and lasts a lifetime - I have had pieces from Athleta from years ago and they are still like new and still stylish. Another plus? If you bring in your ACE or other fitness certification you can sign up to get your 25% discount with every purchase. I have never written a review of a retail location before, but I just can't shake the bad feeling I got from this place today. No greeting, no offers of help, I had to follow a salesperson around and finally grab her attention to ask a question. There were 2 other customers in the store and she was helping neither of them. On top of that, she had only vague knowledge of the products I was inquiring about.The older salesperson was helping a younger gal and I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing. SO RUDE. Maybe I should be glad no one wanted to help me! I heard to say loudly and condescendingly, "I SAID, WHAT can I help you FIND?" I can't believe the gal didn't leave. Minutes later the same woman made me feel like she was doing me a great favor by giving me a dressing room. Overall this place felt really snobby! I couldn't help but think, "Um, I know you're in a nice location and you feel fancy... but you're still The Gap!" And fancy places are SO much more polite than you people. What a weird and unpleasant atmosphere. Will never be back. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Tried to return something there this afternoon and the sales woman was incredibly rude. I tried to explain the items were gifts so I didn't have a receipt. I said I understood that I would only be given store credit at sale prices but didn't understand why I had to be mailed gift card, in ten business days, for my returns. I do not recommend this store. This Athleta location is not very serious in selling product. I have been in 4 times in the last week and a half and only the manager was willing to ask if I needed help. The staff exhibits a snooty attitude, I couldn't help but feel like I was inconveniencing them by shopping there. This is most unfortunate as I have been a fan of them early in their existence as an online and mail order. I have been so disheartened that I have started going to lululiman to shop for my wife. I absolutely love their clothing; however, the service was definitely less than ideal. Confused about sport bras, I had to find an associate and ask for help, was brought to a fitting room, and only checked on once after being vocal about not having much success...all while the other women in the fitting room were getting new sizes, recommendations, and personal assistance on the floor. I'm not a size 0, but am an athlete who likes quality clothing. To think I considered a sponsorship with this store is astounding after my experience. I agree on some of the reviews. At times I felt the sale people in the store are can be rude. The younger girl seem to be nicer and some of themneed to work on their customer service skills. They make you feel horrible about returning items. I've been member for years and love the clothing and prefer to buy online but because of sizing I have to go into the store and return and try on new items. I hesitated to go in based on the reviews. But I needed some running capris BAD and I couldn't find any that were the right fit and material. So I hesitantly went in. Holy crap y'all these ladies were all sooo nice! Looks like the last review was in July so maybe there are new employees now but I was greeted and helped by FOUR different ladies on a Sunday evening before they closed. Haven't tried my pants yet- I literally just left the store! But I'm happy to know they will return them if I don't love them after one workout.
