The room was clean and had a huge dining room and kitchen area. It had all the essentials for a homey and comfortable stay. We loved that there were dog treats and little gift pouches in the reception area. The pool area is big and had pleasant lounge chairs. The gym is missing a trendmill, there are bikes for cardio but not great options. The restaurant we had breakfast at was pretty good. The chicken and waffles was amazing and the bagel sandwich was delicious.

The beach is so pretty and is private. The staff was helpful and very responsive. We would definitely stay again! We abandoned our car for our entire stay. Second, the rooms are impeccable - very clean and even more so with tiled floors. The bathroom was spacious and the bed comfortable. We got a ground floor room that walks out to the ocean and pool - but does not lock from the outside so it's really just a sitting area. I moved to an ocean facing balcony later and enjoyed that room much more - same layout was able to see the ocean. I must mention the POOL - it is ocean facing so quite beautiful. There are umbrellas and lounge chairs. Finally, a full bar, a full menu and servers available to bring you anything you need. So relaxing!! Lastly, the onsite restaurant is top notch. Pricey! The only availability they had was for Saturday morning at 9 am for 60 minutes. I agreed and made the booking. I asked if we would have access to the other amenities at the spa and they informed that it was a small spa, but you could have access to the pools. The day of the massages we arrived early to fill out paperwork, changed and sat in the relaxation room until it was time for our appointment. They did offer us complimentary water, tea, and cookies. I think at 9 am they could have offered light breakfast pastries instead of cookies and brownies as I know they serve breakfast upstairs. When it was time for the massages, they put my husband and I in separate rooms. I was under the impression that booking a couples massage we would be in the same room. The massages themself were nothing impressive. The staff outside the room were pretty noisy sounded like they were stocking things and talking. Someone even walked into my husband's room during his massage. When we went to check out the person checking us out looked like she might have been training, but she was also not the most pleasant. A 20% gratuity is already included so we paid almost $400. for 2 60-minute massages that were just mid. Not worth the price especially when they don't have any other amenities to offer besides the pool.

My room was equipped with a queen size bed, a couple of dining room type chairs, TV, mini frig, microwave, and a large bathroom. Everything was clean, functional and comfortable. An improvement on the room would have been an easy chair for reading and relaxing. Overall, the stay was quiet and enjoyable.

First, my feet and ankles are covered in tiny, incredibly itchy bug bites. I'm a born Floridian who lives about 90 minutes away, so I know Florida bugs. These aren't mosquito bites; they look more like flea bites. This is a pet friendly property and they need to be treating the grass. Update: I called to open a complaint and they said they'd be in touch. I expressly said I'm not looking for payment or a refund or anything like that. I just want to make sure they're aware. It's been a week and I've received no call back. Enjoy your fleas, I guess. The good: the rooms are really nice-large, clean, with good-sized closets and balconies. But there was one tiny hand soap for two sink areas, no shower soap, and a half-empty shampoo bottle that clearly hadn't been replaced. The bathroom also needs work..peeling paint, peeling shower floor, etc. But overall, the room was the best part. The restaurant situation was abysmal. There is one actual restaurant, a buffet, where guests cannot access the drink machines, so you have to wait for a server even for a soda. The service was terrible at every single meal. My first night, my server took my order immediately but never brought it; I left 35-45 minutes later after two plates and dessert. At another meal, I flagged down a server and asked for a drink, watched him serve other tables with drinks, then had to ask again--he said he had forgotten mine. The next meal, I got one small drink (less than a can of soda) but never saw the server again for a refill. At my final meal, no one approached me for 20 minutes, and I didn't get my drink until I was finished eating. If the servers aren't going to serve drinks, you can't gatekeep the drinks. I'm talking about a Diet Coke, not a fancy cocktail. The food options are extremely limited. The buffet is essentially identical every day, which for breakfast is fine, but lunch and dinner are largely the same as each other too - and the same daily. The other "restaurants" are shipping containers: one serves hamburgers and hot dogs, much of which is also at the buffet; the other serves nachos, tacos and quesadillas. Those are places to grab something quick, not restaurants. This large property has only two pools. The adults-only pool was completely full my first day, leaving the loud family pool as my only option. On other days, they allowed children into the adults-only pool anyway, which defeats the purpose. The bar situation was also abysmal for an all-inclusive. There is one actual full bar, next to the main building and the buffet. There's another bar just inside, but it's essentially a continuation of the first bar through a set of doors. There's also a bar in the American-food shipping container and a small window bar by the adult pool, but neither was a full bar. Everything except the main bar closes at 6 p.m. For a property this large and an all inclusive hotel, that isn't enough. There are activities, but not enough to keep you entertained unless you want to be at the pool 8 hours/day. Yes, you can go from tennis to pickleball to basketball, but nobody is doing physical activities back-to-back for hours. Most other activities are for children, and it's not like several are happening at once giving you options. They also don't publicly post the schedule, so you don't know until you get there. Some activities I tried had two people show up and were canceled. Finally, at check-in, I was told I could call that morning to see if a 2 p.m. checkout was available, but I would FOR SURE get noon. When I called, 2 p.m. wasn't available "for my room," which was fine. But suddenly noon was presented as something they were graciously "giving me". I was told I could give up my room at noon but stay at the resort until 3 p.m. for another $50. I didn't have a terrible vacation. The property has potential and the staff was very nice. But I expected more. Right now, it feels like they're calling it an all-inclusive resort before they've built out enough of a resort to make that make sense.

They honored our reservation and let us check in a bit early (we had selected our room in advance, on line). As Diamond members, we also (each) received a bottle of water and a snack choice. The room itself was fine. Although the one double bed was small, there was also a pull-out sofa in the room. It was nice to have a fuller size refrigerator, microwave, and a kitchen with silverware, etc. along with a coffee maker. The bathroom had a shower only (sink and toilet of course, too), but that was fine. The hotel itself is only about 8 months old, so everything is fairly new. We didn't use any housekeeping services for the couple days we were there, but we didn't need anything. Breakfast is included with the hotel stay. There are a number of choices of breakfast sandwiches and a breakfast empanada, too along with cold and hot cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and waffles, as well as muffins and breads to toast. This was a nice added value. A nice touch was a water bottle refill station right outside of the exercise room. And for families, they also have a laundry room attached to the fitness center which is a nice convenience. We'd stay here again if next in the area and needed to be nearby.

Very quiet area. Everything you need is at the cottage and Heather was great and very accommodating. She respects your privacy. Short walk on the boardwalk to the beach and bam you are in paradise! We went in December. Barely anyone there. Its like having your own private beach! The beach is much wider in this area than northern Vero where the hotels are at and this beach is a shell hunters paradise. If you want a quiet getaway at a reasonable price with a nice big beach then I highly recommend you come here. Totally worth it!

Heather was outstanding in answering our questions before and after we booked, and welcomed us immediately upon arrival. With only 4 cottages, this place is quiet and cozy, and perfectly located. Cottage 4 is closest to the beach, but I don't believe there is much of an actual view. I could be wrong. We were in Cottage 1 which is closest to the road, but hidden behind shrubbery for peace and tranquility, and offers the most privacy away from the other cottages. Our cottage had absolutely everything we needed - plates, utensils, plastic wrap, seasonings, electric lighter for barbecuing, bowls, pitchers, lots of books, extra light bulbs and toilet paper, a tea kettle, microwave, dishwasher, stove, oven, full sized fridge, and a hairdryer in the bathroom. Even the beach towels, chairs, and umbrella were of nice quality and clean. We ordered Uber each time we wanted to go in to downtown Orchid Island and typically paid about $7 each way. Uber doesn't understand the exact address so just tell your driver you're at the corner of Ocean and Sea Gull when he/she contacts you. Overall, this has been a truly pleasurable long weekend at Seahorse. We are still here with two more nights to go, and loving every minute of it!
