I agree with the people saying they wish they could give negative star reviews. I called them about seeing a bike that was on their website, and they told me that it was still in. I spoke to Brad, and he had me ask for him when I got there. Cut to after my shift. I meet up with my dad and we headed to Road Track and Trail. When we got there, I walked in and saw a bunch of people in RTT shirts talking to each other and playing on their phones. We walked around and looked for the bike, which ended up being in the back outside of their detail shop. At this point, we had been there and wandered around for about 5 minutes. No one asked if we needed help. We got distracted by another bike, and someone walking out of a room heard us say we needed to find Brad. He said he'd get him for us. He got paged and we proceeded to wait for another 10 minutes. No one came to tell us that he would be there shortly, or anything. We actually started the bike and sat on it, and even started pulling things apart, and no one said a word to us. Brad finally comes to help us. The first question he asks me is how I'll be paying for the bike. At this point I haven't said a word about how I even feel about the bike. (Let me just say this - the bike was very obviously laid down at one point. The tank had been repainted - poorly - and there were paint chips and dents all over the bike. Definitely not worth the price that they had it listed at. The best thing about this bike was the new rear tire.) I read and sign my release form for the test drive (and can I also mention here that there's some sketchy stuff that you're signing away on? Much sketchier than any other forms I've signed for test rides) and I take the bike out for a ride. I got back and told Brad that the clutch had almost no play in it. He told me that's normal. I've never ridden a bike that had that little amount of play. He told me that's an easy adjustment. (Sure, as long as the clutch has adjustment left.) This is where he should have offered to have the clutch adjusted or looked at so I could take it for another ride, but he didnt, so I then asked what else they had that's bigger than my current bike, yet in my price range. He said he was sure there was a few, and if I could wander around and look, just let him know if I wanted to sit on anything. Gee, thanks for being a helpful salesman. We wandered and found a few bikes in my price range that were also very obviously damaged pretty good from being laid down. I can't say though that if I had found anything I would have bothered to try to find anyone for help anyway. We ended up going across the street to Jamie's Customs. While I didn't find a bike there that day, I will be going back to Jamie's to keep looking. (Long story short - and it will be in a review on there soon enough - Todd spent more time with me than I spent at RTT by myself, and was super friendly and informative about the bikes. Not a very helpful dealership. It's almost as if they don't care if you buy or not, the next guy will. You are mostly left to wonder around then have to hunt for a sales guy to sell you a bike. Inventory has some sort of existing damage to it, flaws on everything. I guess that's why they are priced the way they are. Most bikes come from the auction then "repaired" to get them into selling condition. I bought a bike there last year because it was what I could afford, the one thing going for them is their pricing, hard to beat. So last week I filled out an online application to upgrade for next season. Did I ever hear back from them? Nope, just like the others have said, no good credit, you will never hear from them. No discussion whatsoever, no questions about more money down, co-signer or anything.... so I went to Monster in wauconda and was able to get a bike a few years older with 25K less miles. Thanks RTT for not responding, I was able to get a sweeter bike. Keep shooting yourselves in the foot. Learn to call people back and explore options with them. I meant to do this last month but couldn't find the right words nor could I wrap my head around how terrible of an experience I truly had with this place... If I could leave zero stars I would in fact I would offer negative stars if I could. Let's start at the start; I brought in two old complete tires and rims along with a fresh set of tires, tubes and new rim liner for my vintage motorcycle before I set off on a cross country trip... Simple enough right? I would've don this myself but time was of the essence at that moment and I had a lot to do in a short amount of time... Trust me I wish I would've shoot I wish I would've tried the trip on the rims only rather than deal with RTT (road track and trail). So I brought everything in the AM talk to some women in the service dept who told me should be able to do the two tires by days end, perfect right? Alas, I didn't hear from them all day and when I called before the closed I got the run around as if they ran into trouble but more likely they forgot... She explained that the front tire I brought them was the incorrect size... Ok fair enough my mistake but she also informed me that the service dept already removed my old front tire... When I asked why they didn't call me to let me know that the front tire I brought in was the wrong size before removing the old one she said that's not their policy... So I told them I would come pick up the tires and pay for the work they did and didn't do... When I got there she told me the service dept worked hard on the rear tire and sanded out the rim hub and all this stuff because it was a old rim... I think that's part of inspecting the rim before placing a new tube and tire on it. I asked to talk with the service dept about my front tire as they were trying to up-sell me on a different tire for the front I just worked with one of the mechanics and had them put the old tire back on the front with a new tube I asked him why he removed the front tire knowing the one I brought in was to small and at least he apologized and said " I didn't double check before I did the work" thank you for being honest unlike the women answering the phone.. Anyways over a $180.00 later, yes you read that correctly $180 + for two tires that I brought in and they only changed one really plus they charged me for the new tube that they pulled?!?!?! If I wasn't under a time crunch I would've asked them to remove the rear tire and walked out... So let's get to the trip, on day two of my trip about 500 miles on the road the rear tire blew out!!! Yes, brand new tire and tube along with a new rim liner blew... Lucky for me I was at a slow speed and two blocks away from a motorcycle shop in MN. When we pulled the tire we found the problem to be a pinched tube, surprise surprise, and we also found that the sanding and inspection of the rim was not done and the cherry on top RTT didn't even replace the tube liner I brought in, WTF?! Long story short the easiest job was totally phoned in by the service dept but charged me for full service stole from me and oh yeah put my life at risk and their customer service was terrible. I would've had a better chance with a blind man who has never changed a tire before providing me better overall service... That is nothing against the blind. I can only imagine if you brought your bike in for a real service be careful it's a scary idea that this place would even have the ability to touch a motorcycle mechanically outside of a good detailing. If you want to have work done to your bike even if you have never tried to work on it before I say go for it you have a better chance than taking it to Road Track and Trail or as I've heard it called "Road Trash and Trial" Stay away!!! read more

Went to check out a used Snowmobile a few days ago that i seen on the internet, was very excited to see this sled . Got there and left quick . The salesman really did not care if i wanted to buy or not , told me the sled was gone, a other man standing there not sure who he was told him were the sled i was looking for was. I could not get to it until you climb over a bunch of sleds to get to it , once i git to it it looked worn out Rust on it and the seat ripped ,told the guy about what i see and he did not care what i had to say about the stuff i found . Asked him the price and he told me . I told him that is over the price of the same CLEAN SLED by over 1000 dollars , He said that is is low as he can go and just WALKED AWAY . How RUDE !!!!! While searching online on the net out here in Southern California, I saw a 2004 BMW K1200 RS motorcycle that had very low miles on it and was in immaculate condition. I contacted RT&T and spoke with salesman Adam at length about the bike, and was assured that the incredibly low mileage on the bike was in fact its actual mileage. He sent me videos of the bike running, and also sent me some 40 highly detailed photos of the bike. With Adams assurance on how perfect this Motorcycle was, I bought the bike! Shortly after buying the bike, I then flew out and actually had the opportunity to meet everyone at RT&T and got to finally check out my BMW. Jeremy, another great sales associate of RT&T, made sure that I had my temporary plates issued and placed on the bike so I could ride in Wisconsin legally. I had the opportunity to ride it for a week in wonderful Wisconsin during Summerfest! What an incredible week of riding that was. I then had RT&T ship it out to my home in SoCal, and it arrived about a week and a half later in perfect condition. Let me tell you, the guys at RT&T really go the extra mile to make sure everything is right with your purchase every step of the way. If you have questions, they answer them professionally and courteously. If there are ANY issues, they are taken care of !!!! I also want people to know that Nick Rank, the owner of RT&T is one of the most honest, kind, and trustworthy business owners I have ever had the opportunity to buy a motorcycle from. I really cant say enough good things about this dealership! Talk about a business model. Everything from beginning to end is done with perfection! Horrible place to do business with. Don't show up 45 min before close. If you do you will find the mechanics having snow ball fights and driving the golf cart like its a race car between buildings while the salesman are on the phone lying to the next unsuspecting customer about their well used and abused inventory. I called asking about a sled and the salesman said its a nice sled, low miles too! I get there and find that it looks like it fell off a trailer and was drug a couple miles. The wear was consistent with a 5-10 year old sled, not a 1 year old 900 mile sled! Thanks for warning me on the phone! Could have saved me a 2+ hour drive! I can say this though. They are consistent. My buddy went up there in the early fall to see a sled advertised online as excellent condition only to find it was beat up and worn out. It even had a tag on the handlebar with a list of all the things wrong with it!!!!! Who does that!?!? All the sleds looked beat, they all look rode hard and abused! Save your time and look elsewhere. I AM 63 years young and have had to deal with a few bad vehicle dealerships of many kinds over my years. I even was in the automotive repair industry myself for years. So I realize you can't please everyone all the time, no matter how much you try and usually do not hear the good things you have done to help your customers. I am here today to tell you that I am very impressed and pleased with the people of Road Track and Trail. This is not an unfuctional motorcycle dealership from years past. But a place of very knowledgeable employees and sales people like Brad, that helped me understand what motorcycle's might fit me the best. Brad understands his trade well and was up-most in helping me, in picking out a great used bike. Buying the Honda VTX 1800 of my choice was a informational and an enjoyable time. Well after picking up my motorcycle from Road Track and Trail and storing it in my trailer at home outside for three weeks in some of the coldest weather of the year, I went to check on my Honda VTX and found that the radiator was leaking antifreeze and there was a large area about one foot by two feet large of antifreeze on the trailer floor. I thought to myself, here we go, I had purchased a motorcycle without any warranty and I am now stuck having to pay for repairs and I haven't even drove it yet. Well I called them and talked to a Treasa who is the parts manager and I told her about the radiator leaking problem. Treasa was very professional, told me were not that way, we sell good motorcycles and stand behind them. Man that made me feel a lot better. She set up an appointment for me and I took the bike in for the repair. From the minute I got there to have the repair done, I was treated unbelievable well. The mechanic Joe, came over and explained what he was going to do and said we will take care of the problem for you. Now that put my mind at ease! Well after a short time Joe informed me that the leaking of antifreeze was due to a loose radiator clamp and that the cold weather caused it to leak and that he installed a new clamp. Joe re-checked the motorcycle completely and even drove it for ten miles to make sure everything was running and working well. Chad cleaned up my motorcycle so it was like new again! Well to make the story short, I was kept informed and treated extremely well, I felt like I was important to them. This is a quality motorcycle dealership and I recommend them to anybody who would like to fined and buy a good used motorcycle. I would like to thank these people for their professionalism, knowing the product their selling, expertise in repairs and treating me with the up-most respect and keeping me informed! Brad, in sales. For my 100th review (yes, Yelp tells me how many I've written), I've decided to review Road Track and Trail for good reason. To say the least without being completely sacrilegious, it's the Mecca of pre-owned motorcycle/atv/sled/etc in the greater Chicago and Milwaukee area. And you'd think, "Oh, he's only giving them a 5 star review because he scored a great deal with them..." Sure, that would probably be the case if I had ended up purchasing something from these guys, but the fact is - I would have been completely impressed with the overall experience either way. On with the review. Location: 3 out of 5 Don't cry about this, Chicagoans. If you love your used motorcycles, you'll drive the 1.5 hours to Milwaukee, hang out for a bit, and then do the 20 minutes or so to Big Bend. Eventually, you'll want to be on I43 west of Zoo, and take the exit for Big Bend (50 or something like that). Take a right, and another when you see the McD's, and it's down the road a bit. For those of you who live in Milwaukee, I'm sure location isn't a problem on this one. Facilities: 4.5 out of 5. A very lean, streamlined, and efficient operation. I talked to Bryan, one of the sales team, about the history of the shop, and he explained that in the past decade and a half, they've slowly begun to buy out other storefronts in the same complex and expand. It shows. I mean, this place is huge. They claim to have 500 - 600 bikes in the summer, and I can easily believe it. You walk in the main door, and there are cruisers/sport touring/touring bikes to the far left, sportbikes and standards in the main middle area, and you think, "Wait, where are the sleds, atvs, utility vehicles, etc?" Oh I'm sorry, did you see the entire place yet? No. You did not. Walk outside with a sales person and BEHOLD the multiple storage sheds that they have. Probably 5 or 6 total sheds, each holding another geez, 30 - 40 vehicles of all types. In the main building, it's set up simply but efficiently: sales team against the front window, finance guy in a corner, parts in the back, and bays in the far rear. Works out best for working on bikes as well as for those who want to haul their newly found toys home. Variety of bikes: 5 out of 5 Goes hand in hand with the size, I think. Geez, the first time that I went up there, these are the ones that I sat over and looked at: 2000 Ducati ST2 2007 Yamaha FZ1 2003 Honda CBR 919 2001 Yamaha VMax 2000 Kawasaki ZRX1100 2004 Suzuki SV1000S 2003 Triumph Speed Four 2006 Kawasaki Z1000 2007 Ninja 650R 1995 Honda Nighthawk 750 That in itself should tell you a good story of what they have on hand.. The following week, I sat over a few more, including a Yamaha R6 and Honda CBR600F4I. Quality of bikes: 4 out of 5 Not going to lie - not every single bike there was in terrific shape. There are some bikes there that have tank damage, some are missing random mirrors, some have scratched up seats or fairings. I mean, you're going to find multiple bikes that are going to be in great condition, and you're going to find some that need work. Overall though - the bikes there are beautiful. Customer Service: 5 out of 5. Man, Bryan in sales spent a solid 2 - 3 hours with me the first time I went up, and another 1 - 2 hours the second time. That's dedication, and he was ever so patient with questions and concerns. And that's the thing. I'm the type of person who can rattle of specs because I used to sell high end road bikes seasonally, and I can do my requisite research prior to stepping into a showroom, but it helps when someone can answer questions that are more related to riding than the bike itself. Hope that makes sense. Financing: 5 out of 5. I was offered 5.74 over 42 months on a FZ1 they had. This may vary from person to person, but I found that rate and length very fair. Overall: 5 out of 5. Can't say enough good things about RTT. Everyone I met was very courteous, polite, and friendly. I ended up getting a used BMW through a private party in Chicago, but if you're in the market for a used bike from a place that literally, has seen it all and can do it all, check out RTT. Visiting motorcycle shops / dealers can be very tedious and sometimes down right annoying with young eager sales people jumping on you the second you walk in the door and tend to tell you anything they can make up off the top of their head if they think it will bring in a sale.... Not this place. Conveniently located right off the Big Bend exit you come down the road and see a burst of color. There are many bikes, ATVs, scooters outside to look at but that's not the best part. You open the door...deep breathe.....Snnniiiifffff. The smell of rubber and leather fills the air. It's a beautiful sight. This place is filled with bikes and when I say filled, I mean walk down narrow isles because there are so many parked and so many colors and styles to choose from. You do not get hit up by sales people but they are there if you have questions and are willing to help. After our second visit, we had a new addition to our driveway. Prices are very reasonable and their website is a big help to check out inventory if you are not able to get in there to see them all. I would recommend Road Track & Trail if you are looking for a new toy. read more

I read a lot of these reviews before going to RT&T, choosing to believe the few positive reviews and ignore the bad. I should've listened to the naysayers I think. I arrived at the dealership about an hour before closing time, probably a bad idea. When I got there, there was a salesperson helping someone near where I was looking. I couldn't help but overhear the salesman say, "Well, I showed you everything!" to the potential customer. After that, he disappeared and I never saw him again. I saw other employees (not salesmen) here and there, and not one would even meet my gaze, greet me, or ask if I needed help. In fact, no one there was even smiling at all. Great sales environment...NOT! I will say that they had a great selection, more bikes than anyone else in the area. Some of the bikes were beat up as other reviewers posted, but that's to be expected. I will also say that if I could've gotten some help, I may very well have bought a bike. I came with cash. There were three there in my price range that I would've liked more info on. So for now I will either find another dealer or keep looking at the classifieds. I won't be going back there for anything, apparently they don't need my business. In closing, I have to say that I may have caught them at a bad time, an hour before locking up. But hey, they're still open! Perhaps this an off day or a very busy day, I don't know. All I do know is that I wasted over an hour round trip to not be helped at a business when I have a few thousand to spend. I won't forget this, and won't be back unless they're giving them away... This is an edit to my review above. After it went live and the sales manager saw it, he called me and left a nice respectful message. He encouraged me to call back to see if there was something they could do for me. I guess I do tend to fly off the handle in these situations, so perhaps my review may be a bit abrasive. I have found afterward that it is a good idea to call ahead at these shops so that a salesperson can allot time for a customer. It is entirely possible that the shop was understaffed, and of course it was nearing closing time too. The positives about RTT is that they definitely have the best selection within many miles for used bikes. The prices are competitive also. I'm still too obstinate to go back, but you never know, I'm still looking and I'd like to get a nice bike before the riding season is over... read more

Just bought a used bike from RT&T and was very pleased with the service and selection. They seemed to have a multitude of bikes in a variety of price ranges. I bought one, and had it delivered. Noticed a small oil leak after I had it home for a few days and gave them a call. They immediately, without question, scheduled to come pick it up, fix it, and return it at no charge. Just to be clear, they did not have to do that. I bought my bike "as-is" and understood the risks in doing so. They kept me updated on the progress and brought it back as soon as the work was complete. A quick shout out to Chad, who truly is a great representation of what a reputable company should stand for. This is my second bike I've bought from these guys and based on those experiences, we'll certainly be back. read more

I'm not one to complain much, if ever, but this establishment deserves a complaint! The reason: Bait and switch! Road Track and Trail was advertising a motorcycle on their own website, and other sites as well. It looked like a deal worth seeing. We even called to ask if this bike was still in stock. An associate named Usher verified that the bike was indeed in their showroom. We then drove 80 miles, in a cargo van, with strong intentions of buying that motorcycle. Keep in mind the cost of fuel, and time required for this venture. After looking around for about 20 minutes, we finally asked for help. A salesman named Ryan politely rolled the bike out for us. We noticed that the bike did not have "New Tires!" as advertised, it was missing components, and it was obviously in need of maintenance, including electrical wiring. Despite all this, we began to negotiate with Ryan. He quickly told us that the bike was not for sale since it needed an inspection. Immediately, I asked Ryan why the bike was being advertised if not available for sale. He challenged me, insisting that I should have called to ask, when in fact I had! His rebuttal was that I should have stated where I was driving from. I asked him why it should be my responsibility to state that. He said because maybe I was driving from Milwaukee, which was only 20 miles away versus 80 miles from Chicago. I disagreed with his logic. He went on to boast about his yearly sales, and made excuses of how difficult it is to keep track of all the bikes on their lot. Would you waste your time and energy driving ANY distance for this kind of business? Apparently, that has no value to them. Not going back. read more

Went there for an appraisal to sell my Beemer waited for a 1/2 hour for someone to take it for a test ride. After several pages a rider finally took it for a ride. Waited another 45min for the buyer to give me a quote...the quote never came. They were more interested in playing phone games and trying to fix the copy/scanner machine. If they were not interested in my bike or business, why didn't the tell me that in the first place. Absolutely no customer service. Bikes on the floor were in sad shape. read more

I bought a pre-owned bike from Road Track & Trail recently and what a fantastic experience! I found the bike through Cycle Trader, called in and spoke to Brad. He took the time with me on the phone and walked me through all of my questions and patiently answered them and added value. He also took the time to take multiple pics of the bike and point out any small imperfections so there were no surprises. I am in Los Angeles, CA and doing the paperwork via email and executing the transaction was easy thanks to there process with email and bank wire. As soon as my wire funded, Brad contacted the shipper and the bike was scheduled for pick up same day. I was always kept in the loop and updated immediately as as we moved through the purchase. Once the bike arrived I was excited to see that the bike was spotless, I mean it looked detailed! Way beyond my expectations! All fluids were topped and the bike was ready to go off the truck! Road Track and Trail Yelp Review Good Fortune It was my good fortune to find Road, Track and Trail. I live in Texas. I am one thousand two hundred and sixty miles from Road, Track and Trail. I was on a quest for a good deal on a Ducati Hypermotard EVO SP among the years 2010 - 2012. . The Version SP is not common and few are offered. I have no interest in the new water-cooled Hypermotards and had to buy a used or a new leftover air-cooled hypermotard. Road Track and Trail had an Internet advertisement of an impressive looking 2010. I telephoned Adam the Salesman. He told me that it was a great bike in great condition. He made me a very attractive price. I asked Adam the Salesman about the history of the bike. Was it serviced and cared for and loved and all that? He said that they knew nothing about the history of the bike as they had purchased it from another dealer with the intent to resell it. This indicated to me that Road, Track and Trail are honest. No B.S. No tall stories. No exaggerated claims. Because of Adam the Salesman, I bought the bike from long distance and sight unseen. I explained my purchase to my friends who were quite skeptical of making a sight unseen deal. I said that we will find out. After a few weeks, the big Haul Bikes transport truck appeared in front of my house. My bike was on the upper level. After a bunch of interior movements the driver rolled my bike back to the lift platform. As the platform came down the lift, I was amazed to see that my bike was as new in appearance. It was thrilling to learn that this used three year old Ducati was in absolutely as new condition. I took it to my garage and removed the seat to look under there. It was not even dirty. Everything is perfect. The Version SP has the highest seat street bike that I have ever ridden. It needed to be lowered. I bought a lowering link and lowered it at least an inch. I am nor out and about riding this Version SP and everyone who sees it seems to be thrilled by its nature and condition. Thus far, it is the only Version SP that I have ever seen. I attended the Circuit of the Americas Moto GP in Austin and surveyed the entire Ducati Only parking lot and there were no Version SP Hypermotards. There were several of the 2008 Hypermotard models. In summary, Adam the Salesman got me the bike of my dreams at a great price. Road, Track and Trail is a dealership that you can depend on, believe and trust. J. R. Unless you don't mind fixing up your bikes or ATVs, you should avoid this place. The descriptions online and the ones given if you call there are far from accurate. From what I could tell, all their bikes and ATVs are bought from repossession, salvage or theft recovery auctions. Almost everything there was in rough to very rough shape. I had a few hundred mile trip to pick up my ATV and I was highly disappointed that I was given a very poor description over the phone of the condition it was in even when I specifically asked if there was damage due to the pictures showing what looked like some damage and replaced parts. I was assured that there was not but when I got there there clearly was damage, a lot of it. I was also told that it was recently completely serviced and that was far from the truth. When I got back home, I discovered the air box was full of about an inch of motor oil and there was water mixed with the oil in the motor. Had I just trusted them and jumped on and rode it I would have blown the motor. I just want everyone to know what they will be getting. I felt like I was lied to the whole time from start to finish. Those less mechanically inclined will be spending more money to take it to another dealer to have their bike checked out and serviced to make sure it's safe. Edit 5/7/2012. Just wanted to add that while I was making all the repairs I mentioned above I discovered that my tires were over inflated 3 to 4 times their recommended pressure. Anyone that rides ATV's knows that this was a serious risk and I could have been severely harmed with that much pressure in the tires. This place has some serious service issues and I can't say it enough, buyer beware, you may be taking home a dangerous machine. Do yourself a favor and click on the filtered reviews at the bottom of the reviews that are shown. Yelp should be ashamed of hiding these reviews because people need to know the truth! read more

Wow, did I go to the same place as everyone else? Maybe it was my research beforehand, maybe I was just lucky, maybe it's because I'm in sales myself, I don't know. From the first contact I made, I received personal attention, and offers of help and answering any questions I had. When I did have questions, they were answered quickly and in a helpful way, and I never felt pressure of any kind. The day I went in to pick up my bike, I was greeted by 3 people (and 2 dogs - shop dogs are awesome) at the door and felt at home right away. My sales person, Rick, gave me a super-detailed walkthrough of the bike I was shopping for (2009 Kawasaki Versys), and at least 3 times during the process, I could tell 1)he knew this was my first bike, and 2) he was giving me the chance to change my mind/walk away. I never felt pressured, never felt like I was getting fed a line just to make a sale, and was comfortable during every stage of the sale (payment included). I did a good amount of shopping/calling on Rick's day off, and Nicole (Financing) stepped in and made sure I was taken care of. Granted, the longest ride I've done is getting back to Chicago from Big Bend, but if I have a problem, I'm not going to have an issue calling them, and I'm certainly going to visit the next time I'm looking for a bike. read more

I agree with the reviews that this is a top notch place, my only reason for the 4 and not a 5 is that. i just purchased my first bike-- when i found what i was looking for and went to close the deal the sales person said the price was hard and they dont build in any negotiation room. But now i hear on this board and others they negotiate, I feel a little taken or at least lied too. All eles seems to be ok. my other reservation is 30 day guarantee. Its January -- - i doubt i will even have it out in the next 30 days. how about a mileage XXXX guarantee for winter purchases. read more

Sadly, I thought the service sucked. With so many salesmen, only one talked to us and he wasnt very knowledgeable with many of the bikes. I've been to a lot of dealerships over the years and the customer service seems to get worse and worse with Road Track and Trail being the exception. There are plenty of people there to help you and they do not push you into buying something. They want to make sure they get you into something that you want. I was there on a Saturday morning and there was a lot of customers there, but they had plenty of staff there to help me when I needed help.I ended up buying a left over sled knowing the price couldn't be beat. Above and beyond that, I accidentally left my coat there and they shipped it back to me for free! Awesome. Thanks Adam. read more

Bought a 2007 xrs 800 last year from this place with 1800 miles on it. Primary clutch blew up at 1900 miles (could have happened to anyone), but when I took the clutch off the frame behind the clutch was bent so bad it was rubbing against the clutch and had made a large groove in the back. This is definitely something that should have been found when the dealer bought it and went through it. I wqs very dissapointed and they did not to help. Moral of the story, of you do buy a sled here, make sure you inspect the whole thing as you would purchasing from craigslist, cause you may end up with something like a twisted frame... wouldnt reccomend these guys to anyone, much better dealers around. read more

Just bought my second bike from them. I had the bike for a week and noticed the front brake became spongy, so I called Matt and he said to bring it in. I brought it back on a very busy Saturday and the service department got me in right away. They bled both the front and back brakes quickly and at no charge. I couldn't be happier with their service and they stand behind what they sell. I highly recommend them. read more

The bike is awesome and the price was good, however customer service was the worst experience ever. The salesman, Rick, did not return calls or send additional photos as requested. The gentleman that did the financing, Brian, also did not return calls or get us the title and financing information in a timely manner. In fact we received a letter when the financing info was MIA saying that they made our first bike payment for us like it was some big favor when in reality it was an oversight on their part. The late title work was also blamed on the holidays when we purchased the bike in November. The only reason we went through with the sale is because we wanted a specific bike and it was hard to find. This was not a tough sale for them. We did not haggle or even come to the showroom since we were out-of-state. We basically called and said we want this bike here is the money. I would not buy from them again. They do not meet the needs of out of state customers well. We don't need our hand held and this was not our first time at the rodeo, but some communication would have been nice. The only time people at RTT communicated with us was when we contacted them. Perhaps it is better when you can physically be there, but I doubt it. Out-of-state buyers beware. read more

Buyer beware. I purchased a used 2005 suzuki boulevard c50 from this store. Was told on the phone that the bike would be road ready when I got to Big Bend WI from Rochester NY. It was not. Pieces that had "been ordered" had not arrived or had not been put on the bike. The lightbar lights worked but thast the fuse had just blown, unture, Not only was there a short in the wiring but there were no bulbs in the lights.The scratches on the front fender that they promised that would be buffed out were not.I was told the fluids and filters were changed, but they were not. The lock for the side cover I was told had been ordered, but had not come in, they promised they would ship it to me. 4 weeks later and multiple phone calls, and it has still not arrived. On the long ride home back to Rochester Ny, The Check engine light came on. I called road track and trail, only to be told when they checked it out before selling it to me that there were no codes showing, but maybe it was just an old code that was stck in the computer, but that I could drive back the 70 miles and they would check it out for me, But they couldnt send a truck out to get me with out charging me. I instead stopped into a local motorcycle repair shop in Highland Park Ill. GenX Performance. There the bike was looked over, and it was determend that it was over heating, that the oil filter was never changed, the air filter was never changed, and that the radiator fluid was 100% water. This place may take care of some people, but they SCREWED me. Yes, It was a used bike, and yes maybe I should have taken more time in looking it over before making the purchase and the long ride home, But I didn't think a company that does so much buisness would openly lie to my face before allowing a customer to ride almost 900 miles home on a motorcycle that was not road worthy. I found a 2 Up ATV that I was interested in on ATV Trader which lead me to the Road Track & Trail site. I sent an email to inquire and got a quick response back from Brad. I then spoke to Brad on the phone to get further information and he explained the condition of the machine as well as investigated warranty and shipping options. I live in upstate NY so it wasn't possible for me to physically inspect the machine so Brad took over 30 detailed pictures highlighting any blemishes and posted them for me to access. Once I made my decision to move forward, the paperwork was emailed to me and completed the same day. The following day my ATV was picked up by the hauler (Daily Direct Haulbikes) and I received an email from Dana at Haulbikes giving me details of the shipping route and asking me to confirm my shipping information. 8 Days after the ATV was picked up from Road Track & Trail it was delivered to my driveway. And to top that off the Shipping was free! The ATV looks as good (if not better) than in the photos and everything works perfectly. I appreciate the responsiveness, honesty and professionalism of Brad and Road Track & Trail all the way from the beginning of the inquiry process to the choice in haulers. read more

My husband and I purchased 2 new bikes this past week and Rick at Road Track and Trail went above and beyond to make the whole process easy. I had called a couple times before going since we are from Iowa and Rick answered all my questions every time, gave me info on my trades, and quickly responded to the email I sent when I wanted a little more info. He spent time with us once we were there, discussing the different options, giving us ideas of bikes we may not have considered, and giving us all the info we needed to make a decision. He was extremely knowledgeable, very nice, and not at all pushy. I really felt he wanted us to find the right bike rather than pushing us just to make a sale. We ended up making 2 trips to finalize everything and he made the whole process a breeze. Even after the sale he has been right there to answer any additional questions we had. Yes they are busy (they have tons of stuff to look at and a lot of customers what do you expect) but they take the time to make sure you are getting the right bike for you and everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. One star is definitely one too many in regards to this company. After searching the Internet for awhile I finally found a bike I was interested in on the road track and trail website so I called to make sure the bike was still there before jumping on the road considering I live in Chicago and road track and trail is in Big Bend Wisconsin (about a 2hr drive). They told me the bike was still there. Just to make sure, I double checked the stock number on the bike with the salesman RICK ensuring we where on the same page referring to the same bike. Long story short I get there and as soon as I enter the shop the first person and every other person in the shop immediately knew the bike had been sold even before checking the system. The salesman RICK who told me the bike was there mysteriously can't be found. Adam another sales man there who emailed me also failed to mention that the bike had been sold. So the bottom line is they had me drive 4hrs (2 hrs there and 2 hrs back) for a attempt at a "bait and switch" TERRIBLE business it was a blatant and intentional waste of a potential buyers time. Unfortunately you can't give ZERO stars on Yelp, but zero stars is exactly what this poor excuse for a company deserves! I had a specific bike in mind that I was coming all the way from Chicago to see. I called ahead of time right before I left to ensure that this particular bike was still available given that it's a 2 hour drive EACH WAY. Rick answered and confirmed SEVERAL times that the SPECIFIC bike I was interested in was indeed still available. I even stressed to him that I was traveling a long distance to come see this particular bike and he assured me it would be available for me to see when I arrived. Well, fast forward two hours... I arrive to find there is no such bike available and everyone working is well aware that it had been sold, except Rick, who was conveniently no where to be found. Not only that, but there was no such bike on the premise, so it is safe to assume that ROAD TRACK & TRAIL OF BIG BEND, WI 1. Blatantly lied to me on the phone or 2. The bike never existed in the first place. Either way, this company showed complete DISREGARD for my time and then had the nerve to try and get me to stick around, wasting more of my time, to look at the old, dusty, dirty, bikes that I had no interest in. All in all, I am APPALLED by the fact that a company this poorly run is still in business. BEWARE when dealing with this establishment. From my experience, THEY WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING JUST TO GET YOU IN THE DOOR. Bad move on their part, because I came ready to buy.
