Helped my brother coordinate shipping his car from the east coast to the west coast for a job move. We, admittedly, were entering the whole ordeal completely blind with very little lead time. I spammed out a couple of quotes to transport businesses to see what companies could get the car there within that short time frame. Roadrunner was one of the first to respond with a plausible suggestion, although not a guarantee. The pricing was comparable, even a bit cheaper, than some of their competitors. Fortunately, we got an extension on my brother's start date, so that afforded us more time to arrange pick-up. We had no idea that these guys contract out for trucks/drivers (apparently that is how the industry works), so there was some delay finding a driver heading that way. Once a driver was secured, communication then moved to live with us and the driver, which I found a bit odd. Thankfully, the driver we got was clear and communicative. We needed the car to arrive on a certain date because my brother was flying in and it got there safe and sound, on time! There was a walk through with the driver before drop-off, signed by both parties. A tip for those in the same scenario: they are able to/used to dropping off cars without someone being on the receiving end. We had my brother's car dropped off to a nearby airport hotel that he was staying at. Keys were handed off to the concierge. You can even pack items in your trunk, up to 100lbs. read more

Read these reviews before getting your delivery! I am glad I did. The delivery truck did not bring a palette dolly big enough for my package they were delivering. The driver had to borrow a pick axe from my construction crew and come up with a creative solution. Then both of us had to walk the package down balanced on the dolly so it did not fall. If I was not there to receive the delivery there would be big problems. read more

This company is appallingly bad. They schedule a 4-hour window for delivery and give a phone number to contact if there's trouble. I ask for a second number because they don't use an answering service and no one ever answers the phone. Of course, the day comes and passes, and no package is delivered, no one calls to update, and no one answers their two phone numbers all day. Two days go by, and I have no way of reaching anyone because they don't have an answering service. Finally, someone calls to schedule the next shipment time as if everything is perfectly fine, and around and around we go. Never did I imagine that any company could be this lazy and incompetent. Delivery dates mean nothing to them, even when it's been offloaded and sitting at their warehouse for 2 days. If you want to pick it up (since they're utterly incapable of delivering anything), get ready for hell on earth. "Oh we don't care that we know this is your shipment you paid for and have all the paperwork for, there was a 3rd party involved and they're our client, not you. So if they don't tell us you can pick it up, then it's not yours". This is going to cost me A LOT of money, a 6 figure contract up in smoke because Roadrunner can't perform the most basic aspect of the only service they offer. I contracted and paid for shipping my auto from the Bay Area to a Southwestern state. First, vehicle was delivered a day late. Second, driver failed to bring my car to the location contracted. Instead, driver left it parked about 90 miles from my location. Driver kept trying to convince me to meet him at the distant location. He refused to bring my vehicle to the location which I contracted and paid for. He said it was 90 miles out of his way! WHAT?! Third, the delivery service had to contract an independent contractor to complete delivery of my vehicle. Thus vehicle was received a day after promised. Fourth, when I tried to complain to customer service all they did was provide me excuses. Originally they refused to complete delivery. They only relented after I promised them an all out social media campaign for bad service. I will never use this company again, and I do not recommend them to anyone else. read more

Do not trust anything of value to be shipped with this company! I had 2 rare and valuable items shipped with this company and they destroyed them both. The boxes were clearly marked FRAGILE and by the look of my packages, they either can't read or the word FRAGILE has a different meaning to them. When I noticed the damage on the packages, the driver told me that when he picked up the pallet, it was laying on it's side. He told me that I could not refuse the shipment and he could not bring the packages back. I informed the driver that I would only take the packages if I took pictures before he left and noted on the bill of lading that the items were received damaged. He agreed and I proceeded to take pictures of not only the boxes as they had arrived but also opened the packages while he was there and took pictures of the damaged items. These items were one of a kind items that were part of movie history that were destroyed by this company! These items were made by noted artists in the movie industry and this company turned them into junk. 1 star is way too generous of a rating to give this company. My hope is that people read this review and make the choice to run the other way if they are given this company to ship valuable items. Must admit that I was terrified when I read the other reviews. I was shipping a motorcycle from California to my home state on the east coast and Roadrunner turned out to be the company being used. Fortunately, the process was smooth. The staff were helpful, polite, and accommodating via phone. Shipping was a bit slower than anticipated, as my shipment arrived numerous days after the estimated date, which was no big deal. The motorcycle arrived in great shape. The driver communicated well, was on time for the appointment, was friendly, and handled the delivery with care. I was very pleased with the service. read more

They are just awful. Do not, and I can't emphasize this enough, do not trust them with your business. I paid $200 over market based on their absolute commitment to pick up the car on the scheduled date. The car was not picked up and after repeatedly telling them I had a flight scheduled for the next day and it was critical that the car be loaded, here's their response: "Hello, If you have not heard from the carrier as of yet it is possible they hit some kind of minor delay like traffic or got held up by other pickups and deliveries along his route. In which case the pickup will take place the following day. Thanks, Support Team" Did you get that? After I sent repeated messages that the driver hadn't contacted me and telling them the car COULD NOT be picked up the next day, their response was to send a canned response that the car would be picked up the next day. So, I paid the airline fees to rebook my flight and found another company that got the job done as promised for $200 less. read more

This is an insane company to deal with, first my car was supposed to be picked up on the 30th, no big deal i would still be in texas ready to load my car up and have it shipped, excited even! When they told us that my car would then be picked up on the first i panicked, i had a 6 am flight that day and wouldnt be able to be in person to send MY car off. No big deal have a friend sign off and send it, NOPE!! June first rolls around and theres no word from dispatcher or driver about a pickup window or time, they dont even pick up their phones!! Called this company around the beginning of May to transport my daughter's car from Texas to Oregon at the end of the month when she was to graduate from her welding program and fly back home (california) before heading up to Oregon to begin her career. Car was scheduled to be picked up on the 30th when I got a text (not a call) that the date for pick up had changed to the 1st of June (she had a flight leaving that morning at 8am). Had her friend lined up to meet the driver instead and I went round and round with both Roadrunner transport and their sub Diesel Auto Transport about the problem of his availability after this date....no one cared!!!. And no option (a new driver) was possible per both companies. I was assured by Roadrunner that a driver was available and wound be contacting my daughters friend between 9am and 9pm. Guess what!!! NO CALL. Now it's Monday June 3rd and still NO help. I can't get out of doing business with them fast enough...hoping that I can get my money back so I can move on to another more reputable company. They returned my call as promised and gave a delivery window. I had bought a hood for my car and the company used this shipping company long story short brought me someone else package after I had scheduled a delivery date a week in advance. They took that package and scheduled me for the next day (Friday) next day comes and doesn't arrive. I get an email later that day saying my package was found and would be sent out Monday. I immediately called and tried to set a pick up date they were giving me a hard time, I eventually ended up getting through and being able to pick up my package when I get to the location which is an hour away from my house everyone at terminal was acting ridiculous and didn't want to help me get my package saying they didn't know how to fill out the paperwork including the supervisor! incredible negligence and laziness. several issues but i will bulletpoint to save yourself time and $ - got quoted at 2k for my cars trip, they called me after they took my CC info saying, sorry its actually 3k due to different states taxes (???) classic bait and switch. i had no choice i was on a time crunch. - they said they would pick up my car on a weds. they did not pick it up til the following sunday. - they said my car would be delivered in 6-7 days it has still not been delivered 14 days later it's been picked up. - the day it was supposed to arrive with a NEW dropoff day. it was never delivered. no call. i called several times no answer. i texted customer support 3x and they ASSURED me it was going to come. CONFIRMED. - i did my research and was able to find the 3rd party that they booked for the transport, got a hold of them and they were SUPER friendly. gave me updates all along the way, i wish i knew about them directly. it was painfully obvious that roadrunner never even cared to ask them for a update to update me at all. - the 3rd party said roadrunner paid them 2.2k for the trip. they pocketed $800 for what? 0 customer support and updates. Basically a glorified finders fee. and wont even let u get in contact with the company they set you up with probably because they will lose business. - multiple complaints via email for compensation back and they said no. Told they were going to call to schedule the delivery "today or tomorrow" each time. Called 8/16 - spoke to supervisor, Destiny, at the call center. This has been a terrible experience with RoadRunner Transportation, the broker that set up the logistics to ship my Toyota 4runner from Newport Beach, CA to Coral Robles, FL. RoadRunner promised a "top load" position for the vehicle, as the 4runner is a collector's item, insured for $65k. The $65k is due to the 1) $40k spent in the boring of the engine prior to adding a cold air intake and supercharger kit w/ 7th fuel injector, high-end engine components, headers, exhaust, enhanced 4wd transmission, replacement of OEM brakes to newer technology racing slotted and drilled disc brakes for all four wheels, larger heavy duty calipers, a 1.75" lift with Bilstein pro shocks, aftermarket rims and BFG KO2 tires, 2) the $8k in re-gearing and dyno testing and tuning of the ECU to maximize torque and horsepower through the acceleration curves through each gear, the 3) $8k spent in the electronics of the vehicle, including a touchscreen dual DIN, voice controlled, navigation system, hushmatting of all four doors and also lift gate, installation of Alpine 4 channel amplifier to power Polk Audio Component speakers & Kicker Audio coaxial speakers and a 2nd amplifier (mono) made by JL Audio to power a JL Audio 12" subwoofer in a customized enclosure to blend into the trunk area, the 4 additional digital and analog dual display gauges for i) transmission temperature for 4wd offroading, ii) oil pressure in case of engine failure at higher boosts, iii) air to fuel ratio gauge, and iv) forced induction boost/vacuum gauge, and finally the upgraded headlamps to HID conversion for both headlights and foglights. Additionally, the 4runner is free of rust, has no accidents on a clear title, and has 92k original miles. Prior to selling the vehicle, I spent ~$500 to have the vehicle detailed and waxed as it would be in an open carrier, being transported from the West Coast to the East Coast, which is why it was important for me to attempt having the truck as a top load. It was to try and avoid any leaking from vehicles above it, due to the vehicle being an older car - a 2000 Toyota 4runner 4wd w/ TRD upgrades as well as the other aforementioned items. This was explained to Bruce Bryla of RoadRunner, and he stated that a simple $99 additional fee would ensure that the vehicle be placed in the top load. However, when the carrier came to pick up the vehicle, (Big Red Teucking), the driver stated that I had been cheated out of $99 from RoadRunner as the broker does not have the authority to tell the carrier or driver where to position the vehicles. As such, my 4runner was placed in the furthest spot back on the bottom level. I had left several voicemails to both RoadRunner and Bruce Bryla, and have yet to receive a courtesy return call. Additionally, I made an online inquiry through RoadRunner's online portal, only to receive a message that the vehicle was placed as a top load, which is 100% not true. At this point I am furious with RoadRunner's tactics over a $99 additional charge due to the principle of the matter. RoadRunner lied about the top load, failed to provide any response regarding my situation, and refuses to refund me the $99 fraudulent charge. Thus, I plan to share this story with the DOT, BBB, Yelp, Google Reviews, any Motor Carrier Authority that will allow me to send an email, letter, and/or post online regarding this experience. read more

Terrible. I had $4000.00 worth of tires shipped for a Serch and rescue vehicle through this company. Their shipping update notifications do not work, the tires never showed up, That vehicle is now been out of service for over two weeks. After 3-4 hours on hold over 5 calls (either you get hung up on or their office closes before someone ever picks up) finally got through and I'm told they are a month behind unloading trucks. So we need to rebuy those tires and ship through a reputable company or just not be able to run any SAR till they figure their business out. read more

Check out those pictures ,we packed very well ,they ran forklift into on box , stacked heavy stuff on top all boxes ,dropped 2 boxes ,even damaged the pallets ! BUYER BEWARE. I just shipped 2 cars cross country with Roadrunner and had a horrible experience. 1) One of my cars arrived over 2 weeks late even though i booked it almost 2 months in advance. (and they left me in the dark for the entire time..i kept calling and they wouldn't answer or call back and the only way i got them to help me was when i threatened to call the police as i was concerned that my car had been stolen) 2) I reached out to them on multiple occasions before and during and nobody would return calls or answer my questions. 3) They would not take responsibility for their lack of communication, their poor service, their lack of follow through, and their sales team over promising and under delivering, etc. 4) They deflected, denied and wouldn't even talk to me about the fact that due to their delays, i ended up having to spend around $1500+ extra on a rental car and on the additional fees that they decided to add on at the last minute, as they claimed they couldn't find a transport driver and that along with the price of gas caused them to upcharge me 3 days in advance. I would never use this company again and i would advise any of you to stay clear as they will be incredibly kind when selling you, and then ignore neglect and will not communicate once you have signed and paid them. Well, we purchase liquidation pallets and need them shipped up to our warehouse, we chose Roadrunner because the rate seemed decent (first mistake) and it said ONE DAY transit time. Our shipment was suppose to deliver on 9/11... It's 9/14 and I call them to find out the status and they said "it's still on the trailer in Chicago, no idea when they will unload." So I guess we just wait forever for our products and it's not suppose to be a big deal. I'm filing a claim. Worst transportation provider so far we have worked with. read more

After reviewing this company on BBB, I thought I'd yelp this company too. Not sure how you can avoid using this company, but maybe companies who ship their products will see all these negative reviews. This doesn't reflect on the gazebo company as their only mistake is using Road Runner Freight. Hopefully, they realize they will lose money on them sooner than later. This company is so unprofessional, lousy, rude, damages shipments and has practices that protects their horrible service in every aspect. Also, this practice is all the way up the chain at this particular location from driver, dispatch and manager. Our grief begins with the delivery of a gazebo that we paid about $4000 and that was delivered weeks from when we ordered it to finally arriving damaged. I'm not talking minor scratch damage, this was damaged from box being gouged open to reveal the roof severely dented. Their practice is to have the POD signed before dropping the load, because I'm wildly guessing they often damage their shipments. We unknowingly sign the POD before we noticed the damage after the first two boxes were unloaded and refused it and even helped the ONE driver/delivery guy to load it back onto the truck. Keep in mind, this is not a one person job. There would have been a total of seven large heavy boxes. This driver was not happy about our refusal and was very combative and rude, but he assisted my husband with putting both boxes back onto the truck. He's lucky we saw the damage in the first two rather the last one. Fast forward to the replacement delivery that also took long because of clear POD we signed. Replacement came this time on pallet and wrapped. They still sent one driver, a female this time, who insisted that we sign first before she dropped the load. My husband says no, we will inspect first and then sign. She said no, sign or I don't deliver. My husband climbs onto the truck without permission and as he's inspecting the load, she closes the container on him. When she opened it, he was so furious and asked to speak with her boss and she refused. My husband grabs her keys from the cab and she called her boss. Delivery never happened due to this incident and they called the next day to reschedule for the following day. The morning of, dispatch called to let me know that they will not be delivering because they won't risk the lives of their drivers. I don't think that was why. Another wild guess is, I think they may have foresaw a lawsuit for locking my husband in the container and they had to cover their butt to look like we were dangerous. If I can help it I will never use this company. No stars given. We ordered this damaged gazebo in March and now it's May. Long story short, we are in the process for a refund with the gazebo company. Immediately ordered another gazebo and already received it in two days tops. read more

This review is for Roadrunner Auto Transport. As part of a larger cross-country move, I had heard about all of the companies positive reviews (on its own site), which I now believe must be mostly fake. The company's website stated that normally a one-week window is sufficient to get a car moved along a busy route (9/10) such as the route I had selected. So, I gave the company a three-week advanced reservation window, then moved on with the rest of my move-planning, since the company claimed to be the most "reliable." Fast forward three weeks to the move week, two days before the move I do not have a carrier assigned to the car. When I called into their Customer Service, the agent was nice enough - and offered reassurance that the car should be assigned before its date. One day before, I called and got the same reassurance. On the day of the move, I called and the agent's voice finally waivered and asked me to make a back-up plan -- ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE. One star for lack of communication, misleading reviews, misleading customer services, and for making me think the company is reliable when in fact it was the worse part of what was otherwise a smooth cross-country move. Essentially, this company created a false sense of security and reliability, then made me scramble last minute to figure things out on my own. In the end, I ended up using UShip and booking with a company called Montway Inc. (Montway Auto Transport), which had an A+ Better Business Bureau rating; they scheduled a carrier for my car within 2 business days (even through the July 4th holiday). read more

I received a quote for 2 cars from Georgia to Florida for $814. I thought GREAT!! Went to book it and suddenly it was $1295 I thought this was more but I needed them shipped so I booked it and added insurance ($300) on me. They called several days before pickup that the first carrier had cancelled and they were looking for another carrier. They called the night before pickup and told me they had another carrier but it was going to be $400 more. we go from $814 to $1295 to $1695!!! Now we are over double the original quote.I asked what happened to the original quote and he said, OH! that was for only 1 car. Needless to say I was not happy and I told them to CANCEL my order.
