This should be a less than 0 review. My battery died while I was out shopping. Went to my insurance app to say my battery was dead and requested a TOW TRUCK. I drive a BMW, when the battery dies the computer stops the connection between the starter and alternator until some magic code is entered to release everything. I explained this to the person from Roadside Express, she told me she never heard this before and my technician would be able to take care of the situation and would be able to put in a new battery and deal with the computer issue. The Technician showed up (within the timeframe listed) and tried to jump the car but nothing happened. He then said my key fob needed a new battery. I told him to wait until my husband came with my other key fob to see if that was actually the problem. He then said he had to jump my battery at the source, I told him the battery was in my trunk under my spare tire. He told me NO and then started to take various plastic parts out from under my hood to find the battery. When he could not find the actual battery, he went back to my key fob (see below with how he took it apart with a screwdriver instead of reading the instructions in my manuals which I told him in my glove box). My husband arrived with our other key fob and guess what, it wasn't the key fob. I asked the Technician if he would call me a tow truck as I originally asked and he said no it was my problem. I then asked who was going to fix my key fob and he said he would glue it together. I said NOOOO! I am now have to deal with getting a new key fob. read more

Long story short I called originally at around 9AM to get roadside assistance, the driver doesn't show up until 12:05 PM! I waited around 3 hours for a lockout job with terrible service. So originally after I called in I get the text stating the company doing the service was "ROADSIDE EXPRESS OF SUFFOLK CT" they then estimated my arrival time for the driver would be 90-120 minutes but then I get a call from dispatch at 9:26 AM shortly after after saying it was gonna be 60-90 minutes more meaning he was supposed to arrive between 10:26 am - 10:56 am. I then get a call from the driver at 10:55 am stating he was gonna be "a little late" but is about to be on his way.... then again the driver calls 40 minutes later saying he is on his way and will be there in 15-20 minutes. He then shows up in 28 minutes or so. I'm inside mind you (waiting)....he then calls me let's me know he's outside, then as I get out of the door 1-2 minutes later I see him in the distance, he sees me walking towards him and before I can go and greet him he unlocks the door (lockout) gets and his car and leaves without ever making any contact with me. Please if your insurance sends this roadside assistance requests a different service provider. They send you a message for their ETA which is already quite long and then call you to tell you that the ETA is irrelevant and you have to wait for a tech to call and say they're on their way. Needless to say 2.5 hours to get a tire changed when original ETA was 60 min so declined help from family. read more

I got a flat tire in NYC temperature 22 degrees called Geico at 6 pm they said they would be there at 715pm. They showed up at 921 pm. He put the spare tire on no Air left didn't say anything to me. I called them instead of trying to help me he threatened to hang up on me. I received a phone call from Kristin within minutes stating the driver would arrive within 55 minutes and asked me to leave a positive review after service is complete. These people arrived and didn't change the tire because we refused to move the car ON ITS WHEEL by even a foot and accused my mother of being rude. I was charged for a service I never received and explained about a cancellation fee after I was already charged. Geico put me in contact with them and from the initial interaction (7/12) til now (7/16) it has been an inconvenience and waste of time. "All of their calls are recorded" except the ones with the insurance provider? Sounds fishy to me! They took over 2 1/2 hours to come to me with promises of being there "within the hour" there were no follow up calls and no regard for my business after they took my card info. If your insurance assigns them to you, ask your insurer to change the service provider. I waited for over 3 hours during which they changed the ETA thrice after which they arrived with wrong information. Called my insurance company roadside assistance and unfortunately these unprofessional fools picked up the job. Waited 2 hours and 45 minutes and it was freezing outside and the car was in a dark empty parking lot. Worst yet, it was my teenage daughter whose battery was dead. Scheduled roadside assistance for a lockout through GEICO. They gave us Roadside Express. WORST customer service. Got a confirmation at 3:53 for an Expected arrival 4:53. At 5:15 I called Roadside Express and was told she called the driver and said he will be there 15-20 minutes. The battery on my '72 Corvette died due to lack of winter use and the cold. The technician was at my place within 10 minutes of the time estimated by the operator, who called me before he arrived. He set up the charger (side post battery in a compartment behind the driver's side seat, so a bit of a chore) and let me start the car (old cars with chokes/carburetors can be fidgity in cold weather). this service provider should be removed from all Audi, VW preferred list of partners. they flat out lie. accept a request and then cancel it when they are supposed to arrive. claim they tried to contact you but have not. claim they cannot find car, even when it's in a driveway. Subaru sent someone from Roadside Express to give my dead battery a jump start. This was around 7AM. I received a message that they would be there in 45 minutes. 15 minutes later the mechanic called to say he would be there in 12 minutes. He was, fixed the problem in less than 5, so I was ready to go in less time than I had expected! Excellent job. There is nothing "Express" about this company. The one star is for the guy that came to change my flat after waiting more than an hour. Who arrived without a company car or any form of company ID. There was no way for me to tell the difference between the roadside company employee & the random people who offered to help me (except for the fact the random good samaritans were there quicker). The guy who answered the phone was a huge d$&che lacking in basic customer service skills. Can't believe Geico uses a low quality trashy vendor like this. Tip: This business also operates under the name Lightning Roadside Inc. Unfortunately I don't think this review will really help to many people, because it seems like Roadside Express Inc. is usually dispatched by a third party. This was also the case in my situation. I bought a new car battery through Pep Boys, and 6 months later my car was stuck on the side of the road from what appeared to be a dead battery. One of the Pep Boys store workers told me that their 800 number would be able to help me. Without many other options I was forced to pay Pep Boys $65 for a jump, and only after payment was received they told me I had to wait TWO HOURS for lightning roadside to show up. When the "technician" finally showed up in his personal car he was unable to help me. My car wouldn't start with a basic jump, and seeing how the "tech" was in his own personal vehicle there was nothing else he could do to help me.... 2 hours and $65 later.
