I HATE my hair!! I went three separate times and after each one left feeling depressed and regretful that I ever stepped foot in there! The color never looked right, and wasn't even similar to the ones I picked out from their color book. Gayla is a nice lady, has had a lot of personal issues to deal with... but 35.00 for 15 minute DRY haircut is ridiculous! I won't be back! My highlights before were ok, not great.. but I gave it a second chance.. She had me fitted in between two others.. rushed and 15 mins later.. I'm done.. No more chances.. Wasn't impressed. My first visit, my stylist was a no show. After an hour or so I was worked in with someone else. She did a good job but I had asked for my mid-back level hair to NOT be cut above my shoulders. I had just moved here so I knew I needed a couple if jnches cut. When I left it was so short a pony tail was out of the question. I actually didn't hate it though. I scheduled another appointment because I was ok with what she did - even though it was not what I asked. I found out, that stylist quit that day after I left. I was booked with someone else - also quit before my next appt. To top it off, the girl I was originally scheduled to be with (I dont recall her name, but she looked like Depression from the Inside Out movie - blue hair and all) wandered in around noon, never said a word and LOUDLY complained to her client that she hated 10AM appointments (my scheduled time) because she liked to sleep in. So she literally wasted my time because she didn't want to get out of bed. I really still don't have a place to go, but it is better than going back here. read more

I haven't had my hair done in a year so it needed work. I'm new to the area so used yelp to find a good place nearby. I was able to get a next day appointment which I was excited about. Rebecca was amazing. She said she was excited about the style and colors we were doing. I was mostly excited to color the gray. I was there a bit since I needed so much work and I have so much hair. Everyone was so friendly and professional. I felt like I had been going there for years. I loved my hair in the end too. Great color, no more gray and cute cut. Felt like a new woman. read more

My mom came to visit. Needed a haircut. We decided to try this place. Run! The website states $20 for a hair cut, she charged my mom $45. No wash/dry/styling. $45 to trim her hair... That's the first complaint. The next is this woman proceeded to spew her politics and religion all over my poor mom. Who is too kind to tell people they are being offensive. Needless to say in my quest for a hair salon in Roanoke this is the bottom of the pile and I will never go here or suggest it to anyone again. read more

I'm horrible with remembering names but the owner of this salon is just amazing! Shes very friendly and took her time to do my hair even though it was really late, i believe i was her very last client that day. She did a cut and partial highlights in my hair and it came out so beautiful i loved it, I'd definitely recommend this salon. So happy to have found a good stylist close to home! read more

Licenses should be revoked, and/or this place should be out of business. Gayla had my wife in tears after her appointment. My wife asked for blue or green highlights in her hair, and ignoring my wife's request Gayla instead suggested mahogany. My wife even stated that she is not a red/orange kind of girl. Gayla proceeded anyway, and chose to ignore my wife once again by not giving highlights but a full color that didn't take. My wife was so sad and embarrassed when she got home. As teachers we can't afford to fix what Gayla destroyed. On the last day of school before winter break, she had to go to school with Gayla's wreck of a styling. read more

I think this has become my new go to hair salon. Gayla was friendly, did a wonderful job, and got it done fast! I have very very thick hair and I asked her to thin it out. She did such a great job and my head feels 10 lbs lighter. Hair salons I the past have taken 2+ hours to wash, cut, and style my hair...she did it in less than an hour (huge plus in my book). Finally an affordable alternative. I love this salon! Not a fancy place but clean and well equipped. Gayla really knows her stuff and I am pretty picky when it comes to my hair. She gave me a great color and cut for about 1/2 of what I've had to pay elsewhere. Gayla has me for a customer as long as I live in this area. read more

I found Roanokelicious and am very grateful that i did. I see people have made comments about a daycare being by them and that the lady at this hair place being rude. Well I was there one day when a daycare worker came in and they were swearing like a sailor. This is between them and does not affect the great hair service that i receive there. These are great ladies and if you try them you will think the same. They are professional people and i have never had great service like i do here at Roanokelicious. read more
