This is my first time here. A small family owned coffee place right on Route 17. The first observation when I walked in was they take the coffee very seriously with the pleasant aroma. Then look at the menu and there are so many choices from Dark Roasted to Light in the coffee bean arena, I just did not know where to start. Speaking with the staff, they guided me along to try a Manzi, which I have never heard of. Turns out, this coffee adds a little chocolate but certainly not over the top with some foam at the top. The taste, very good. I had to try a piece of cake, which they do a good job on. It happen to be that the wife is in charge of the baking. In tasting it, I found it simple to tell that she bakes out of love, I can clearly taste it. Finally, had a chance to speak with the barista, and as nice as can be. Add in some music using a Bose speaker, with some wooden carved stool and tables, and presto, you have a good breakfast to help get you through the day. read more

I came across this place one day while I was heading to the Starbucks located right down the highway. The Starbucks parking lot was packed and there was no place to park so I left and saw the sign for Koffeewagon Roasters. I decided to give it a try and ordered their coconut cold brew and I was sold. I've been back a few times and have tried their Sumatra, which comes from Indonesia and their macchiato which is very different from any other I've had. Overall, this is a great coffee spot for people who like a real bold cup of coffee and a lot of interesting options. read more

This is hand-down the best coffee spot I've seen in area around Bergen County, NJ. Sadly there aren't very many quality coffee shops or even good local restaurants or eateries around here but that's what makes Koffeewagon stand out! read more

Forgot all about it till one day sitting on traffic on my way home from work, thought to myself I'd go there the next morning for coffee instead the usual Starbucks. Happy I did. Met the owner Bruce, he told me all about their coffee and the whole process they use to roast and brew each individual cup. He asked about what kind of coffee I usually drink and gave me a few options that he thought I would like. I went with the Zimbabwe, it was excellent! No bitter after taste, not over roasted, the pour over method was amazing and brewed an exceptional cup of coffee. This will definitely be my new morning coffee stop read more

This shop is a great find. The coffee is delicious! I tried the cold brew and brought home a bag of the medium blend. I went on a weekend and was thrilled to try a few items from the specialty menu...the "Avocado Smash" is truly delicious. I tried to replicate it at home and could not come close to this great combo of whole grain bread, smooth Avocado with tahini, feta, tomato and olive oil drizzle. The place also has cold brew coffee. Anyone who hasn't tried a real cold brew should definitely stop by. The nitro cold brew is even better! From a suggestion of a co-worker, I ventured down the hill in Hasbrouck Heights onto route 17 to the Koffee Wagon. Even though I live local, I never knew it was there until recently. I would suggest bypassing Starbucks and go to the Koffee Wagon which is immediately after. They freshly roast their beans on the premises. Coffee is so delicious. They also have cold brew iced coffee which is equally as good. My husband, son and daughter are all hooked. Try it out. It's wonderful delicious coffee. read more

Delicious, fresh coffee made right in front of you! I've never been a "coffee nut," just give me coffee and I'm good... not anymore! I love choosing which new coffee I want to try and there's a chalk board outlining my options, where the beans are from and how strong the brew is. The shop is so cute, with humble, rustic decor. Bruce is just about the nicest guy you'll ever meet, he shook my hand and introduced himself. As a business manager myself, that won me over and I would love his place even if the coffee was bad... lucky for all of Hasbrouck Heights, it's amazing! Have a pretty good coffee selection, although when I got a bag of their dark blend i was a bit disappointed that it wasn't as strong as I wouldve hoped for. I do generally like the quality of their beans though and most especially their drip coffee by the cup read more

This is a great coffee shop that makes one of the best pour over coffees I have had anywhere. They have numerous choices of different coffees from all over the world available at all times. On one visit, they had three different varieties from various islands in Indonesia along with 5 or 6 other varieties. There are few shops that offer more than 2 or 3 varieties, in part because it is hard to control their inventories, but also because it can be difficult to make sure that everything offered is fresh. I drive 10 miles to come to Koffewagon several times a week, because yes, I am a coffee aficionado. But also because I have never had a cup that was less than an A rating in my book here. By comparison, the best coffee I have ever had from Starbucks using their 'clover system' with single origin beans was a solid B verging on a B plus and it cost more. With all due respect to Starbucks, they wouldn't stand a chance in a head to head competition with Koffeewagon with most coffee drinkers that are fans of craft level coffee. The first critical difference is that they do their own roasting on the premises, so it is fresher than a national chain is capable of matching. There are many other good things about this modest business, but to pick out one more point to comment on for this review, I would have to say that there are few places I know where people of all walks of life, ages and backgrounds can find a friendly atmosphere that is genuinely welcoming to all. Frankly, it is a model that anyone interested in what it is to be small entrepreneur should visit, even if they are a tea drinker. Yes, they offer that too. read more
