I stopped by Catalano Coffee on a Saturday morning when it wasn't too busy. The interior was spacious, with a peaceful vibe, a colorful counter, and cool artwork on the walls. I ordered an Iced Maple Latte, which came out fairly quickly. The latte was well-made but their maple syrup just wasn't my favorite. It got the job done though! Caffeine jitters... that's exactly what I got after drinking a delicious 16 oz Iced Mocha Latte (~$6). These might be some of the strongest espresso shots I've had. I had some serious crackhead energy after this drink LOL. I was ready to run for president, start a YouTube channel, and take over the world!!! All jokes aside, you gotta love coffee that is not only tasty, but STRONG. Catalano Coffee is a small business that does it right. The owner is super passionate and knowledgeable about the industry. They serve locally roasted organic coffee from around the world. This is the place to experiment with different roasts and origins to find the pour of your dreams. Pricing is a bit higher than other cafes, but I'm willing to pay more for high quality beans. I've tried a couple of different drinks and my favorites are the specialty lattes. I recommend the maple and mocha lattes if you want something that is on the sweeter (but not sickeningly sweet) side. The baristas know how to create the right balance of steamed milk and espresso. The espresso is deep and rich. The additional flavors are not overpowering and add the right amount of natural sweetness to the bitter notes. This is a quiet and cozy spot to sip on a drink while getting work done. There's comfortable furniture, free wifi, and outlets. Very simple decor with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. It's easy to miss because it's located in a small plaza, but don't hesitate to try their coffee if you're around the area! read more

I've been making the rounds of northern Jersey on Saturday mornings. Picking up produce and poultry for the week and stopping for breakfast, lunch, or coffee. I had seen Catalano on Yelp and knew they have pour over coffee. My idea of a great coffee shop includes pour over coffee. Catalano takes my idea of greatness to the next level! First impressions are the shop is modern, clean, and bright. Steve (the barista) was knowledgeable and friendly. They had a number of bean choices at various roast levels for pour overs. He recommended the Tolima coffee from Colombia and I agreed. I had a seat in a luxurious armchair, so delightful! Moments later, the pour over was ready. I had been reading for a few minutes but one of the customers had been a coworker of Steve's and they were discussing their passion for coffee and travel. I ended up enjoying a really nice conversation with the customer. What wasn't lost on me during the lovely conversation in the delightful chair was that the coffee was outstanding! Smoothly roasted and perfectly brewed, I was tasting nuances that I'm not always capable of. Really great experience! I look forward to returning! read more

I love a cozy cafe. In fact, that's precisely what I typed into my Google maps search bar while my husband and I were randomly in the area and in need of a quiet place to get some work done. Catalano was not only the closest, but also the most positively rated. In this case, reviews didn't lead us wrong. While the cafe is located in a somewhat random complex, there's plenty of parking and what doesn't like much on the outside leads to a warm, quiet and well-designed space on the inside. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I was immediately impressed by the heavy duty espresso machine that greets you at the counter. For fellow chai drinkers, I can assure you that the same care that's given to coffee drinks are also given to other beverages. Some chai lattes can be overly spicy, but I liked the blend here. Inside, there's a good combination of tables and sofas to suit most needs, and there were even a few board games in the corner for those who want to have a little fun while sipping. On a Sunday afternoon, things were super chill and quiet (though bear in mind that the cafe has shortened hours of operation on Sundays). Finally, a quick shoutout to the sweet woman behind the counter who indulged us in a quick focus group as we were trying to design a logo. Great atmosphere, fantastic people, and very decent beverages are to be found here. I didn't get to try any of the pastries this time around, but I'll hopefully be back again because they looked delectable. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for a while now.. Finally stopped by this morning, and I'm SO happy I did! This was seriously the best coffee I've ever had! (Says a lot, as I have been drinking coffee for many years!) I ordered the coconut cold brew. Yum! Such a clean taste. No yucky aftertaste like many coffees leave, no bitterness, just a very clean, nicely flavored coffee. The barista was nice and helpful :) I was told all of their coffee selections are organic - you can seriously taste the difference! No jittery feeling either.. They also carry some bakery treats, including gluten-free options which is nice! Cute decor as well. I will definitely return, I don't want any other coffee ever again lol read more

Visited here today and used a gift card. The place is very clean and they played great music as I sat and read for a little while, and the young lady who served me was very friendly. Great place with great real fresh roasted coffee. Coconut cold brew is my favorite of the cold brews. Always hang out there on Fridays and the owner is a great guy who runs the place. Had a great experience the first time I went to Cabana Coffee - the barista explained the different options and was very happy with my order! Went back today for a large latte (with no foam) and more then 50% of the beverage had foam and the coffee beans were burnt, very disappointed, don't mind spending $7 for a latte provided it's made correctly.
