    Startup Weekend! #SWLV
    Michelle G.

I first found out about this place when I got invited to attend Startup Weekend through colleagues in the Downtown Las Vegas tech community. I didn't get to tour the facility (as we were strapped for time), but they do offer tours. Check out their website for more info. The room Startup Weekend was held in was huge. A great collaborative & co-working space. Very spacious. Several rows of desks. The desks all have outlets to plug in your laptop and other electronic devices. Comfortable chairs. There were more tables at the back of the room for coffee, lunch breaks, and the like. The walls have inspiring murals. The wifi is fast as well. The facility was donated to the community by Switch Founder & CEO, Rob Roy. There is a monthly membership fee, it includes access to the facility, co-working space, offices and other amenities. More info on their website. It's a great space to check out if you are interested in creating your own startup and/or want to get involved in the tech scene. They have meetups and other events going on throughout the year. Such as Hour of Code. Check out their website for events & schedule. As for the Startup Weekend event, it was a 4 day event from Thursday to Sunday. Creating a startup from nothing within 4 days. They brought in Founders and CEOs to speak as well. It's an exhilarating and motivating experience. It's a bit hard to find but it's right off the I-215 and Decatur (South). It's next to Agilysys.

I had no idea that the Switch Innevation Center existed until a meeting was scheduled there by an organization I am a part of scheduled a meeting there. WOW! This place is amazing. They have many diverse spaces for both large and small groups. The spaces can include technology connections when requested. Our group had a conference room that seated about 20 people comfortably. The conference room had an awesome vibe that helped produced a very productive planning session. Everyone was able to see and hear everything. Getting to our room was very easy thanks to the clear signage placed ahead of time by the people at Switch. It's great to see companies like Switch investing in Nevada. If you didn't figure it out, their slogan is that they take "no" out of innovation and replace with with "nev" for Nevada. They have a big sign with this on it, which is great, because I just thought they misspelled the word. :)

Beautiful, quaint grounds. There is amazing Las Vegas history there - you get the charm of a Vegas wedding, without the feeling of a quintessential "Vegas wedding." Shannon and Cheryl met with us 6 months, 3 months, and 1 month prior to our wedding for planning and prep, and answered any and all questions via email and text in between. As someone who works in the entertainment/events industry, and is extremely picky and particular about every detail, I felt so happy and impressed with the outcome. They allowed me to direct my own vision and their team made it all come to life. Having them there to help coordinate allowed me to relax and enjoy my night, without a worry of having to handle things on my own. Trust me, do the Twilight Reception.. it's so worth it.. the garden comes alive at night - the chandeliers and lights in the trees were a dream for me - and to dance the night away under the stars... ugh.... Amazing! You get the best photos on the grounds. I didn't feel like I needed to add an abundance of décor, flowers, etc. because the grounds were so beautiful on their own.. especially in the spring. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will be dreaming about our wedding night and this little special pocket of a gem forever... Take a tour, it's so charming.

Located about 6 miles south of the Strip, this newer 3-star hotel offers a more relaxed atmosphere away from the airport flight path, making it noticeably quieter than some other Las Vegas locations. It's also a great value thanks to its free parking and no resort fees. The staff truly make the experience stand out -- everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay. A unique touch is that the reception desk staff also serve as bartenders at the hotel's 24-hour bar, creating a relaxed and personable atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed, featuring Hyatt's signature Cozy Corner sofa sleepers, mini-fridges, and swiveling HDTVs. The amenities were excellent, including a heated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, 24-hour fitness center, EV charging stations, and complimentary hot breakfast every morning. Another major advantage is the location. The hotel is only a short 5-10 minute walk from Silverton Casino Lodge, where you'll find restaurants, Bass Pro Shops, and the famous 117,000-gallon aquarium. Plus, the Las Vegas Strip is only about a 15-minute drive away, making it easy to enjoy the action while still returning to a peaceful hotel at the end of the day. Overall, this hotel offers an excellent balance of comfort, convenience, value, and service, and I would absolutely stay here again.

NO bride and groom should have to go through this while planning their wedding and the damage caused emotionally and financially is unforgivable. Get an ACTUAL attorney to do your work instead of a sales girl hired by daddy. Bad business practice that will follow them.
