    BASH - Inside the venue

    BASH

We had our wedding reception at BASH, and I genuinely can't imagine a better experience. From the…read morevery beginning, it stood out as an incredible value--beautiful, flexible, and perfect for couples who want something special without blowing their budget. The space itself is absolutely stunning. It's one of those venues that can easily be dressed up to match any vision, but honestly, it looks amazing even on its own. Whether you're going for something simple or more elaborate, it gives you the freedom to make it completely your own. What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the staff. Everyone we worked with was fantastic--friendly, responsive, and clearly experienced. Aly was especially amazing: so knowledgeable and helpful every step of the way, which made the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free. We loved how customizable everything was. We brought in our own vendors, which helped us stay within budget, and the venue worked perfectly with our choice to use food trucks--such a fun and unique touch that our guests loved. It's also worth noting that they do have great partner options available too, including help with booking hotel blocks, which is super convenient. The bar setup was another highlight. Their build-your-own bar package is such a cool option, and Ayden was incredibly helpful in guiding us through it. He even offered to track down Malört for us (I'm a Chicago native, so that meant a lot!). We ultimately went with a cash bar, but his willingness to go above and beyond really stood out. Overall, BASH made our reception feel completely personalized and effortless. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone planning a wedding or any kind of event--you really can make it exactly what you want, and the team will support you every step of the way.

There is a lot of natural light which is nice. I think the space may have been sectioned off so I couldn't quite get a sense of the entire venue. It's pretty from what I did see and a nice place to host an event.

I visited Black Iris Estate as a wedding guest, and I was impressed. And guess what: Black Iris…read moreEstate has a very large basement! How do I know this? Because I and the several dozen other people attending the wedding plus the staff got to visit the basement because there was a tornado warning in the area, and we all had to seek shelter. Whee! The staff at Black Iris were pros, though, and made sure everyone was safe and calm. They made a stressful situation into a (kinda) fun situation that everyone will remember forever. Anyway, the basement is large, but so is the rest of the space! And it's beautiful and tastefully decorated, with lots of antiques and mirrors. We never really got to go outside because the wedding was happening during severe weather, but from that little I saw, the grounds were beautiful too. Also, the food here was some of the best food I've had at a wedding. I'm not sure if the food was from an outside caterer or what, but I want to say that it was in-house. And the open bar was nice, too, and the bartenders were quick and generous. I enjoyed myself as a wedding guest at this place. It was classy but comfortable!

I recently got married here and was unfortunately disappointed with the experience…read more The day of the ceremony, it was raining. the venue had umbrellas and told me there would be no problem setting up in the rain. however 1 hour before the ceremony, my coordinator told me that my DJ wanted to move the ceremony inside. On the flip side the DJ was pointing fingers at the venue- all of this causing unnecessary confusion and frustration to my family and I. I did use the venue's preferred DJ vendor. To make matters worse, I had paid for the prosecco truck to provide prosecco to my guests prior to the ceremony and this was not able to be moved to the front of the building to accommodate the new plans. My guests were still served the prosecco, but it felt like the cost of the truck ($1000) went completely to waste. During the ceremony, as I was about to walk out with my dad, the music stopped entirely. My guests reported that my DJ was being verbally unprofessional, using profanity. He ran out to my dad and I apologized, however I did not get to walk down the aisle with my chosen song, as his laptop froze... and had no back up. When we got to the dinner, the plated food was not the same meal from the tasting. I ordered the chicken with whiskey sauce, which was supposed to come with their "famous" carrot soufle, and it was not on the plate. This was annoying, but the food was still good. As far as the bar goes, I let my coordinator know that many of the guests enjoy vodka and tequila soda and to prioritize that on the bar. Twice, the bar ran out of club soda. The pricing was also very odd for special bottles. We were charged about 3x the normal price for the bottles, which I had assumed to be the case (similar to ordering at restaurants etc) however my dad was charged an additional 30% service fee for his bottles, that my mom was not charged for her bottles. we also did a late snack, and wanted order from chick-fil-a. Price transparency here and honestly for the alcohol were just absent. They make you place your order through them and they charge about 400% increase in price. I got 4 large trays of chicken nuggets and it was $3,300. When I went to chick-fil-a website to order, it was around $800 for the nuggets and sauces. Barf. I felt like this should have been disclosed when I brought up the idea. it was not. but it's their job to make money off you. I sent them an email with constructive feedback and kindly asked for money back regarding the issues above, namely the ceremony as this was the most important part of the day, and have not received anything back from my coordinator. As a bride, I am frustrated with the amount of money I spent here for the day to go perfectly, and it did not. Therefore, I simply cannot recommend this venue.

Outstanding Every Single Time!…read more I have used KolorPop Designz multiple times, and each time she has exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, her creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. She designed a Tiffany & Co-themed 13th birthday party, a grand opening for my restaurant complete with balloon towers and champagne walls, and my twins' high school open house--which was especially challenging since they were attending two different universities. Not only did she accept the challenge, she overdelivered and brought both visions together beautifully. Most recently, she designed my mom's casino-themed 70th birthday party, and once again, she captured every detail to perfection. Each event is unique, thoughtfully designed, and absolutely stunning. If you're looking for someone who truly brings your vision to life and goes above and beyond every time, KolorPop Designz is the one. Highly recommend!

They did tell us that for Children under 10, the guardian has to do the hooks - so they put the kids in their harnesses and then gave us a lesson. Your fee includes required shoes that they provide for you to climb. There are cubbies where you can leave your things. I did notice they had a decent Fitness center for members - cardio, weights etc. They also had an area with a Couch, Foosball and some board games You can bring your own snacks, they did have a couple of picnic tables and has water and Gatorade for sale. They've got lockers (assuming for members and their gear) and so many different climbing opportunities. This particular setting seemed way more formal than some of the other climb centers we've been to. There were a lot of adults using different techniques and pulley systems to climb- I'm not familiar enough with all of the technology, but if you're a serious climber, this may be a better place for you to train and prepare for a real climb. They also appear to offer training classes as well as summer camps for the kids, it looks like they have quite the community here
