Despite the challenge, Dr. Nouri remained patient, focused, and determined throughout the entire process, which took about two hours. During the procedure, she consistently checked on me to make sure I was comfortable and not in pain. Her care and attention truly made a difference. She did an amazing job getting a very stubborn tooth out, and I felt such relief once it was finally completed. Her assistant was also incredibly supportive and comforting, working seamlessly alongside Dr. Nouri the entire time. After the procedure, I was sent home with antibiotics and pain relief medication, along with clear instructions. At my follow-up appointment, Dr. Nouri carefully checked my healing, smoothed out part of the bone graft area, and made sure everything was progressing well. She took the time to explain everything in detail and genuinely cared about how I was feeling. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. They even found a charm that had fallen off in the chair and kindly texted me to ask if it was mine, letting me know they would safely hold onto it for me. That level of thoughtfulness meant a lot. Biggest red flag was when the doctor said he couldn't see on the x-ray if I had a cavity underneath my crown so he wanted to take off my perfectly good crown and disinfect the tooth. He said after 5 years a crown should be getting redone which isn't true at all. They were charging me 1,322 just for this procedure. Next, they were trying to convince me to get my bottom wisdom teeth removed. They said because it was creating a space which was collecting too much bacteria. They never asked if my wisdom teeth were bothering me, which they don't, and they were not even impacted. Very convenient for them that they were referring me to their sister office (smile builder) for the evaluation and extraction. Another high price procedure in addition to the 2k. Finally, they told me I had two small cavities and already scheduled me to get the fillings. That was 135. I told a family member who works in a dental office about all these procedures and she told me that was not normal and to get a second opinion. I went to a different dental office and the only procedure they agreed I needed was a deep clean. The crown was not even infected, it was just gum swelling and tartar buildup on a different tooth. The cavities and all my other dental issues would improve just with a deep clean and regular maintenance.

Prior to this, I was given an estimate of the work to be completed. The estimate states that the amount may fluctuate, and one will be billed or refunded depending on circumstance. Tomazin, however, decided to perform $2,751.20 of extra work not agreed upon while I was under anesthesia. This was not critical work that necessitated immediate intervention. Also, my medical surrogate was available to make decisions on my behalf while under anesthesia. It had been established during previous visits that the surrogate would be consulted prior to authorizing or denying additional work. In fact, I didn't know additional procedures were performed until 17 days had passed when I received a bill in the mail. The surrogate was never consulted. Thus, I was under anesthesia for a significant amount of additional time, undergoing a significant number of unauthorized procedures, violating bodily autonomy. I am shocked. Someone who I trusted to care for me, a person needing specialized care due to a disability, took advantage. I do not recommend Dr. Tomazin, particularly if you are undergoing a procedure that needs to be done under anesthesia.
