In the months since surgery, I've had several follow-up visits with Dr. Siegel. The staff at Midwest ENT is terrific; clearly, they're a reflection of how Dr. Siegel practices medicine. In the room with me, Dr. Siegel said that cancellation was no big deal, and pressured me to schedule when I wasn't sure my work schedule could acomodate. He made it sound like cancellation happens all the time, and it's not a big deal to reschedule. When I informed them on the phone I couldn't make it (3 days notice) they informed me I would be paying $500 for the privilege or receiving nothing. They then pointed to their disclaimer forms. Since I did not record my appointment, I have no way to prove it, but I was mislead by the physician in this case. When I eventually found another specialist, and mentioned my negative experiences with Dr. Siegel they just said, "Yeah, we hear that all the time."

I would NOT recommend him or this office if you are looking for a medical specialist to address your ENT concerns with genuine care unless you are ready to deal with unethical billing practices, a misleading physician, and some (not all) unresponsive/conceding staff. Before seeing Dr. Dixon, I checked with my insurance provider to ensure my visit would be covered. Before this, I had contacted his office directly and received a curt and annoyed response from whoever picked up my call to my initial questions about setting up an appointment and their insurance partners. This definitely should've been the first red flag, but I continued making the appointment because I was honestly interested in working with a Black physician if I could. So where did things go left? Well, when I arrived for my initial visit 30 minutes early, I was left waiting in the waiting room for almost an hour after checking in and paying my co-pay. When I finally saw Dr. Dixon, I shared my reasons for the visit and prior experience years before working with an ENT. He then enthusiastically laid out how this visit would go, sharing that during the first visit, nothing much would happen, but in my future visits, we would work together to explore some of the things I shared to help improve my concerns. I was then asked to sign a document and told, "This is just a part of the initial visit and to look with this camera, but we're not doing anything today, so don't be concerned." And boy was that a BIG LIE! Two weeks later, I woke up on Saturday morning to a bill that had been texted to my phone from Dr. Dixon's office for a few hundred dollars. Now, imagine the shock that would come with seeing this, after paying your co-pay upfront and being reassured several times during the visit as well as before and after some random form is abruptly presented to you by your doctor that "nothing was going to be done today, this is just a part of the initial visit." So when I called later to figure out where the charge was coming from, I learned that the paper I had signed after Dr. Dixon request to use this camera to look in my nose for less than 2 minutes as "just a part of the initial visit" was actually now an unexpected bill of $306.31. My concern with Dr. Dixon's practice and certain members of his office team is that when I conveyed what had been communicated with me by Dr. Dixon himself during that visit, and questioned why the charge had been coded separate from the initial visit and the ethics of that decision, I never received a clear answer, there was NO attempt to be accountable for Dr. Dixon's mistakenly or unmistakably misleading information regarding the form he presented, and none of my calls requesting the opportunity to speak with someone in billing about my concerns were ever returned. So I'm writing this because I DO NOT WANT anybody to ever have this experience. It's not right, it's unethical, and it's hurtful. When you go to see a doctor, you are putting trust in the provider to help you, NOT TO HURT YOU mentally, emotionally, and financially. I'm disappointed with my experience visiting Dr.Dixon's practice and will not be returning. And if you made it this far in this review, I'd encourage you to stay away too.

This physician does not understand rhinoplasty either, as he completely butchered my whole nasal anatomy, leading to disfigurement and concomitant functional injuries. James Wang MD PhD should be rated negative 10 stars, if the system allowed it, for his unethical behavior, disregard of the patient safety and abandonment of the postoperative patient care. Wang has obviously learned nothing from the years of his medical training that he finished only last year. One peculiar detail about my postop visit with James Wang MD PhD: he laughed into my face when he realized what damage he had done to my health with his rookie surgical skills and medically unnecessary interventions... That was quite a scene, very sad, disturbing and terrifying for a patient who had just undergone the harmful medical unnecessary procedures riddled with surgical mistakes of the rookie Wang.... All requests for subsequent follow-up appointments were declined without explanation... Do not recommend this incompetent joke. Beware of the dangers and risks Wang poses to your health or the health of your loved ones. Awww, but he is such a cutie...umm when he isn't tackling me at 2am when I'm on my way to the bathroom or batting at me when I'm in my armchair and not giving him the attention he demands. Oh....back to my review of NW N&S. So I went here after doing some research on both NW N&S and allergy shots. The offices are very spa like. I love that trend in doctor's offices now. Not so sterile and stuffy like they used to be back in the day. When I made my appointment they had me go to their website and print out a bunch of paperwork to fill out and have ready for my appointment. So I basically walked in, handed over my paperwork and insurance card and that was it. I spoke with Dr. Carothers and went over all my allergies and the issue of my newly acquired fur ball and he gave me my options. Yes...one of them was to get rid of kitty. :( But he was playing it straight and I appreciated that so in the end I went with the option that I originally came in for...allergy shots. I had blood drawn that same day, came back a week later and got my results and the paperwork of all the nasty little things that make me itchy, sneezy and wheezy and I started on my shots that same day. 3 shots a week is what I go through to keep my little bundle of joy but it is so worth it. The process is pretty easy. I go in once a week, sign in, sit in the shot waiting area for all of 2 minutes or so, they call me, I get my shots and I leave. Badda bing, badda boom. Well I actually spend a little bit more time chit chatting with the girls in the office. They are all so sweet. Allergy shots are working really well and...I don't puff up or grab for the inhaler any more when my kitty rubs up against me. :D Thanks NW N&S!

When we visited her dentist for the first time he…read moresuggested we may want to request a referral to an ENT at our next pediatrician appointment, but recently she's been snoring more loudly and often so I got that referral now instead of waiting and Dr. Ratstatter had an appointment the next day, thank goodness. (The next available appointment was not for another six weeks or so.) He suggested an Xray, which we did the same day, and it showed swollen adenoids which led to his suggestion that they be removed. Last week was the surgery and it went very well. Dr. Rastatter is a skilled surgeon and the procedure took almost exactly as long as expected (about 25 minutes). I'm really glad that I had Dr. Rastatter to care for my little one, since although I knew it was a routine and fairly minor surgery, having my one year old undergo surgery and begin away from her for that time was still hard. If you have a choice of ENT to visit, I'd highly recommend him.

I first visited Dr. Rastatter's office after noticing my daughter was starting to sound like Darth Vader and thought she may need her adenoids removed. Dr Rastatter took one look in her nose and suggested that she did indeed need them removed since they were blocking about 90% of her nose. Poor baby! The following month we were one of the first patients in the new Children's Hospital. My 19 month old didn't really know what was going on, but I was a nervous mess since she'd never been under anesthesia before. In fact, she'd never even been on antibiotics or anything before! Fortunately, Dr Rastatter made sure the procedure was as painless as possible (for both me and my little one). The entire procedure took no longer than 30 minutes and I'll admit I had a slight heart attack when my phone rang halfway thru the surgery and it was the Dr himself calling. He reassured my husband right away that everything was going well, but inquired if we wanted to also remove our daughter's tonsils since they looked much bigger than when she had been his office the month earlier. We asked for his expert opinion and he said if it was his own kid (and he has a little one close in age) he'd wait to see if they shrink on their own since tonsil removal can be a bit surgery for such a little one. We took him up on his advice and asked him to remove just the adenoids (as originally planned). Minutes later he came out and informed us that everything had gone well...and our little one was waiting in recovery for us. She was a little groggy for the rest of the day, but was running around and completely back to normal by the very next morning. Dr Rastatter's office also called a few times over the next few weeks to check-up on her. Most importantly I've noticed a big improvement in my daughter's health since the surgery. She can breathe thru her nose again, is sleeping amazingly well (although she was always a pretty good sleeper), isn't breathing thru her mouth as heavily and has had fewer colds. I' glad we went thru with the surgery and even more thrilled that we found such a fantastic pediatric ENT to do it! I'm do hoping her tonsils shrink on their own, but if she does end up having to get them removed we'll be repeat patients of Dr Rastatter's.

This was the first time that I had ever met him. Onto the help by the front desk, which is totally out of control, disorganized and they don't get back to you or do what they say they're going to do ...by sending out referrals and test results to other offices. This has taken several weeks for me to follow up with these people. Someone needs to overlook this department and get them on track because they are very costly and unprofessional. They make promises, but don't deliver. I would recommend going elsewhere most definitely there's lots of ear nose and throat specialist hearing specialist and places to have hearing aids fitted.

I filled out basic medical history and such on their patient portal beforehand, which I thought was quite convenient and makes things more efficient. I was really excited with all the raving reviews on not only on Yelp, but on other health websites that rated Dr. O'Mara. When the doc walked in, she was extremely nice, very knowledgeable, straightforward, a great listener, gentle, professional, and very informative. She listened to all of my health issues as well as my thoughts and opinions, and basically gave me a plan of action. She took her time with me, asking questions, and the whole time, I was not felt rushed! The best thing is that she was very genuine and I was extremely comfortable, being a new patient with all these high expectations! There is a lab on-site, and the phlebotomist, Lauren P., was so sweet and kind, and drawing blood was not at all uncomfortable (considering I have a very low threshold of pain and am such a pansy!). I was randomly assigned to her through Northwestern's physician referral practice after I suffered a serious medical event and I was shocked by how great my experiences with her have been. My initial consultation was in her office, where she interviewed me about all of my health concerns, family history, and really took the time to get to know both me as a person and my health issues. Despite a relatively complicated health history, Dr. O'Mara has gone above and beyond. She takes the time to research issues about my medicine and listens to my questions, no matter how silly they may seem to me, in a non judgmental environment. She has followed up on problems or before procedures through phone calls about things I, at times, hadn't even thought about. She is always eager to explain these things to me. She truly cares about her patient's well being and happiness -- even following up on what I thought about places she had sent me for a referral. In short, I have never received this level of care with any doctor before. Her assistant, Angie, is also very nice and helpful. To top it off, it's extremely easy to make appointments here, and Dr. O'Mara keeps an electronic portal where you can ask her questions, view your test results quickly, and access other features from your visits.
