Robert came to my house upon a referral from a friend and is definitely a competent electrician. He knows his stuff. The problem is that he does not stand behind his work. I hired Robert to install a Tesla wall charger I purchased. When I came home, he decided to install the charger that came with the car and modify it to work with the 220 outlet. This would give me 80% of the value, and then I'd be able to sell the wall charger to recoup my costs. The caveat was that I now had to run a cord underneath my garage door. He assured me that the cord could handle the weight of the door. Sure enough, a year later, the cord has now failed. I called Robert explaining this, and he told me that I must have driven over the cord and that I was trying to fleece him for a new charger. That is simply not the case. Not to mention physically impossible based off the cord setup. Secondly, Robert bills per hour intend to talk a lot. I listened to him for 90 minutes while he explained how Bluetooth works, which might have been helpful for someone that isn't a seasoned software developer like myself. I entertained his stories to be polite and begrudgingly sat there as he explained to me how to download an app and then connect to my light switch. I thought I was being polite, but then it turned around and I was billed for that time. This is not okay because his hourly rate is nothing to sneeze at. I wrote the engagement off as pricey, but the work was good, and I trusted him in my home. The disappointment point was when I called him and asked, "Hey, have you ever heard of any cases where these cords are crushed into the weight of a garage?" He said, "Definitely." Well, that's funny because you told me the exact opposite when I asked you the exact same question when you installed it. I honestly think he just didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting a pass-through hole in the wall so that he could properly mount the outside panel. He wanted to get it done quickly and move on to the light switches, since those were the easy tasks to collect a bunch of money. This electrician was referred by a friend. I needed a ring doorbell installed at my daughter's condo. There were wires where it appeared a doorbell had previously been installed. When I installed it however, it did not power on. Keep in mind, I'm a retired firefighter not and electrician. I don't have a test light or ability to determine if the wires were live. My daughter's boyfriend is an apprentice electrician and apparently after he test the wires they fell into the wall which I was not aware. I was looking for someone to come out and tell me what we needed, get it and do what was needed to install it. I did figure that he may need to cut it a small portion of drywall. I arranged for the girls to be there to meet him, as I don't live nearby. First he called and stated he did not know where to park and that I had better not wasted his time. I told him I didn't think so and where he could park. He said I'd better not be putting his vehicle where it would get towed. Again, I explained where to park and he started reading the sign aloud to me that said no parking. However at the very bottom it does state that no parking is only for Thursdays this is the Tuesday. Apparently he realized this because he hung up on me. My daughter's roommate went out to meet him and let him know where to go. He was extremely rude, clearly an off day or something more serious. He began looking in a closet and said there was a transponder that he had found. He then walked out and drove away. Within moments I received a text (screenshot attached). I suppose he decided it was not worth his valuable time. As though his is the time that is of value. Anyway. I have never had an experience like this. He seems to be angry or off balance. But then today left in a huff and didn't attempt the job because I returned a ceiling cover medallion thing (that he told me to return because we didn't need it). I texted him "look the new fixture covers the hole" meaning we could proceed as planned and he ignored me. I should give him 2.5 stars because half the job went well and then he bailed on the 2nd thing. So here's the thing with Robert - he seems to be moody. I highly recommend Robert Morgan if you need an experienced electrician. I have been experiencing problems with appliances burning out and sometimes not working at all. I asked him his hourly rate before he started and he said $100. Sounds fair. He also said he has a one hour minimum. Fine I thought-I have enough to keep him busy. He proceeded to fix two outlets in 15 minutes. I then asked him to fix other outlets around our home that had also failed. He said he had other appointments to attend to. But I paid for an hours work! He said I should have listed out all of the items I needed help with on our 3 minute phone call that we had 30 minutes before he showed up. I let him know the he should be upfront with his customers. He then got upset and proceeded to tell me that he has a college degree and he could rewire an entire attic in 15 minutes but wouldn't charge for just 15 minutes. Geez! All I wanted was for him to put in an hours work for an hours wage. I gave him $100 cash for his brief visit. read more

Having used Robert over the last three years, it disappoints me to give this one star rating(had previously given a five star). Robert had been involved with our kitchen remodel; replacing outlets, recessed lighting and some minor wiring with cabinet lights. In total, we paid him ~$1500 for his labor services. Additionally, I served as his "apprentice", as he called me, on all visits - even providing tools when he forgot his. The biggest project was to hang three custom pendant lights and add two junction boxes in ceiling. Of course, I assisted him on this project, holding custom glass globes as he wired in an attempt to make it easier for him. As is the case in all pendant lighting situations, the correct height is always the decision factor. After we made our final decision, Robert stated "you could live with the height for a couple of weeks and when I come back to finish other work. I could lower or stagger height since I'm leaving excess wire in ceiling". After the two weeks, Robert returned for other work, and we requested the lowering of the lights by 2.5". No problem, or so we thought. What we didn't realize, until the lights were lowered, he had marked the fabric cords with a "sharpie" thus exposing a black marked line when we lowered the lights. These marks were on two of the three cords. Additionally, we noticed (after he left) that one of the canopies was chipped - presumably by his tape measure while measuring middle light. We immediately Googled how to remove magic marker stains and tried the various recommendations over the next two days but to no avail. Price isn't always a factor but we paid ~$5,000 for these lights. Robert offered to restring the lights, he said he could pick up wire cheap online - he even Googled the wire and showed me. We elected to call the manufacturer (local in OC) and explain the situation. They felt bad and since lights were brand new, they offered to restring the lights with new manufacturer approved cord and replace the canopy in their manufacturing facility, thus not voiding the warranty. They said if the electrician did the job of replacing the cord, the warranty would be voided. They said the cost (labor only for technician would be $200. I thought a fine resolution for an obvious error on Robert's part. I submitted an email to Robert explaining and requesting $200 and his labor for removal and installation of lights. I followed up with a call. He flat out denied to pay the $200, "what does their cord have gold running through it"? I explained it's for their labor. He refused to do anything. When I explained to him he has been my "go to electrician" for over three years and offering my assistance on every job, purchase of lunch and even a homemade breakfast meant anything? To my surprise, he hung up on me!!! Is he knowledgeable on electricity.... Yes! Does he have customer service and compassion in his heart abs willing to admit to a mistake...NO! FIND ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN. read more

I had the great pleasure of working with Robert. My neighbor recommended him as he had done some work for him. I called Robert on a Friday evening and explained what I needed done and he said he could be over shortly to have a look and see if he could fix the two issues. Sure enough, he was here within half an hour and quickly made the repairs and charged a very fair wage. He installed a Feit light and taught me how to use the app so I can control the lighting from anywhere, anytime. Robert was very professional, kind and caring. I especially loved how he was with my dogs. I have two and one is always super fearful, but he put her at ease in a way I've never seen before. I wish I could hire him as my dog whisperer. He makes you to sign a bogus contract and make his fee to look like $0. Beware not fall into his trap. Stay away from him and find an honest hardworking electrician. Update as of 7/01/2019 This man is in business of sabotaging. He went on and left a bogus review for my business without being there as a customer! We have reported him to our security service. Read his reply to my complaint. It's very clear that he is pissed off for telling me disclosing the truth to his customers. Instead, he is using racial language in his response. He kept his word, arrived at the day and time we had agreed. And because he knows the Ring product he is familiar with its nuances, their app and which setup worked best. This guy is incredibly rude. I have given him multiple jobs and he has been rude for every single one. The only reason I've used him is because he never seems to be busy and he's cheap. He texted me tonight before 5:00 pm because he misread a text that I sent him asking him to come tomorrow afternoon or the following day, saying he would be there tomorrow morning. I have three children under 3 that I was busy feeding, bathing and putting to bed so I didn't see his text until around 8:30....so I texted him back and said the chandelier wouldn't be there until the afternoon. I had no idea a simple text would trigger that much rage in someone. He made very racially insensitive comments and also is very unprofessional, in my opinion. He told me "how dare me and who do I think I am" texting after 5. He also said he's not "some Mexican off the street"!!!! Can you imagine????? Do not use this guy!!!! Update, 3/7/2020...Since I left this review, Robert has sent me multiple texts threatening to "take action" against me if I don't remove my review. I met Rob thru Craigslist about 4 years ago.  He has done dozens of jobs for me, and for the HOA I manage.  Rob is honest, efficient, and knowledgeable and, he likes my dog! Lol! We hired Mr. Morgan to install 2 fans and some sconce lights. The first fan went fine with no issue. When we got to the sconces, my wife and I spent a lot of time discussing placement on the wall with Mr. Morgan. We taped the exact spots on the wall along with an outline of the artwork that would go in the middle of them. Once he left, we noticed he had placed the fixtures a full 6 inches higher than we had discussed (they were even above the picture frame outlined on the wall). In addition, the lights were not level with each other (off by about 1/2 inch). When I called Mr. Morgan to point this out, he said its not his problem that we "changed our mind" on the light placement, and he would only come back to correct at our expense. On the same date of install, Mr. Morgan and I had to call the fan manufacturer to determine if the pitch of my ceiling would accommodate the fan we bought. He was very confrontational with the manufacturers representative on the phone, yelling at him and making for a very uncomfortable experience. We will not be hiring this man again. read more
