Brian Kissel is an excellent electrician! He was able to quickly diagnose and fix a problem that had perplexed another electrician. I had previously called a different electrician to fix an issue we had with one of the circuits in our house that caused several outlets to crackle and several appliances to smoke. I picked this electrician because he was the only one that could get out to my house before we left on vacation. That electrician spent over two hours trying to fix the problem, but left us without the use of all of our outdoor outlets and most of the garage outlets. He said to diagnose and fix the issue would be a major project and would require him to remove drywall to trace the wiring. I was charged hundreds of dollars, but the problem was not fixed. Today, I sent a note to Kissel Electric and Brian called almost immediately. I explained the issue and he said that he felt it would be a simple fix. After the experience with the last electrician, I was hopeful but doubtful. Brian showed up as scheduled and QUICKLY found the issue in our breaker panel. He fixed the wiring in the breaker panel and reworked the outlet that the other electrician had jury-rigged. It was very apparent that Brian knew what he was doing and he had our problem diagnosed and fixed in less than an hour! Brian put in a sub-panel in my garage with 240V service along with two boxes for 240V tools, a box for future EV charger, plus several 30 amp outlets along the garage wall. It was a pretty long run from my panel and he got it all in over 1-1/2 days working on his own. Brian was a good communicator leading up to the project and executed quality work. Well we just had to use Brian to replace the GFI that I melted due to too many Christmas lights and a combination of water in one of the extension cords outside from sprinklers. I got quotes from 4 different electricians for some work on my home including new fixtures, grounding outlets, recessed lighting, additional switches and splitting a bathroom fan/light combo. His quote, while a bit higher, did include patch and texture of the drywall and he did a great job. I was glad to see him asking for my opinion. Other electricians may have just done things how they wanted and charged more later, but he made sure it was done how I wanted in the safest manner possible. He showed up on time, put down protective plastic for walk ways and work areas and even taped it down to ensure it captured all the dust and wire trimmings. It's taken the better part of two years to write this review. But Brian Kissel is that good. My experience was like others who've posted here. First the back story: Because I had a home maintenance insurance policy with First American Home Maintenance, I had to use the electricians assigned by them. For two years I had intermittent sparks, shorts, fuses tripping, etc. Called the insurance company roughly 10-12 times on electrical issues related to the house. But the problems persisted. Finally one of their assigned electricians said I had to replace the whole panel with a heavier gauge panel, and that it'd cost $2,450, and wasn't covered by my insurance. I wanted a second opinion. After reading some of Kissel Electric's glowing reviews, I decided to call Brian. He came out that afternoon and got right to work. I told him what had happened before. He understood exactly what the real problem was, replaced all the breakers (but not the panel, as that wasn't needed at all) and coated took extra steps to protect the integrity of the circuits over the long term. Everything he told me proved to be true. And he charged me less than 1/4 of what the other electrical company quoted. I never had any electrical issues with the home after that. Brian was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and absolutely honest about everything. The kind of person I will (and have) made my "go to electrician." I couldn't come up with a criticism of any part of Brian or his company or his work if you paid me to. I wish six stars was an option for "over the top" level of service. By the way, like so many others, my experiences with First American Home Buyers Protection insurance company were generally awful. Almost all the companies they sent out to my home (plumbers, electricians, etc.) did sloppy work that either didn't fix the problem at all or only superficially. And you still have to pay them $75 per appointment. Sometimes they wouldn't come out for days. And almost every time I ultimately had to call my own guy to come out and do the job right, and pay for it entirely out of pocket. Back to Brian Kissel and Kissel Electric. Write down his name and number. Even if you don't need an electrician right now. You will. Brian was an amazing electrician. We just bought a new house and he has done all of the electrical work in our place. I was installing a new outlet and installed it incorrectly on a late Saturday afternoon. After I flipped the switch in the breaker panel, I heard a loud pop and all of my lights were now out. Contacted Brian to see if he could come out to see what the issue was. Unfortunately he couldn't come out to fix the problem but through a series of calls and texts, he was able to help me diagnose the problem.
