Requested a Tesla charger installation and stated explicitly that the circuit board is outside in the back of the garage. I got quoted originally $295. When the electrician came over, he was 'surprised' that I wanted the actual charger in the front by the garage door. Where else would I want to have it!? After measuring the quoted price went up to $1,095! 4 times the original quote! Before you schedule any service triple check everything and reconfirm what the quote includes. I found JPS on Yelp to put in a Tesla charger, Josh (the owner) got me an appointment within the week and not only installed a 240V NEMA charger but upgraded my electrical panel which was outdated and not up to code. The technician was courteous, fast, and professional. Fast forward almost a year later, the charger was giving me messages that it was overheating. I called Josh and he had a technician come out and assess that the outlet was overheating and he replaced it with an updated one free of charge. I confirmed the quote and the work to be done (install power and bring it from here to here with a detailed picture). I sent detailed pictures/explanations showing what we need and the other electrician acted surprised right before install, then tried to get my other contractors to trench for him. It felt like the owner is just taking as many jobs as possible. The power they supplied works, but conduit is crooked/ loose. Very little communication prior to scheduled time. Didn't know what to tell other contractors when I was trying to communicate with JPS. No reply when I reached out after. Ivan is a hard worker and I liked him though. Edit: I added pictures of your work. Visibly crooked and loose conduit. Conduit looks like it was cut too short and instead of buying another section you guys just bent it crooked. I had mixed feelings about posting this review because you did a good job a few years ago installing my ring cameras, but after getting no response after the project (text and yelp messaging) it seems like this was the only way to get your attention. We needed to make sure everything was ok before we approached the landlord who did a lot of DIY work on his old 1950s house. A blowdryer of ours caused loss of power to several outlets, and then shortly after, an outlet in the kitchen stopped working and made the stove inoperable. They installed two bathroom vents for me and just jammed the vents up against insulation and called it a day. They didn't go up to the attic or even say anything to me about needing to hire someone else to run the ducts to a vent gable or a dedicated exterior vent. A year and a half later i check my attic and notice that this whole time the vents have been venting to my attic directly buried under insulation. The least they could have done is extend the vent duct and point it to a near by gable. When i reached out about this upon discovering this, they got defensive, argued that I'm wrong, and offered no solution or refund. If they don't do duct work, fine. But at least tell me on the day that they just buried it in insulation and that it needs someone else to work on it. This is a code violation and not a satisfactory way to install a bathroom vent. read more
